Even when distributed to different channels simultaneously, it will not slow down the network because the air analog signals do not travel on that similar network, and thus, it does not rely on the bandwidth of the video signals.

Presently, the use of FTP or UTP cables for audio and video needs is prevalent. Instead of using coaxial cables, CAT5 and CAT7 cables are used. Coax are first installed into the hubs and everything else is distributed through the FTP/UTP. Video over CAT7 or CAT5 for that matter are now possible at a limited cost. There is ease in the installation and location change is not a big deal. All one needs to do is connect patch cords from the distribution hub to the patch panel and have a single port converter connected to the television.

1) Video over CAT5 or CAT7 is cost effective as it eliminates the need for additional coaxial cables.
2) Configuration of video over CAT5 or CAT7 is much easier than having multiple splitter taps, amplifiers and combiners of coax.
3) A high quality signal is maintained as the distribution system of video over CAT5 or video over CAT7 uses active RF video hubs. It makes automatic slope adjustments hence all video channels' image quality is sustained.
4) The video distribution system of CAT5 or CAT7 can carry out voice and auxiliary signals simultaneously. There are no interferences between the voice and video data.
5) A system with video over CAT5 or CAT7 allows video streaming from the computer and it is made possible through a broadband video system.

      First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can't eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising...

      This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it's good for the heart.

    Our guy is about 23 and has heaves. I've asked about him a lot but right now we're at a loss!

    Alright so, on the body scale he's about a 3, he just looks awful. He's on 24 hour turn out with constant access to good, well kept hay. He's on minimum graze since the pasture died over the winter. We blanket him whenever it's cold and he just continues to drop weight. When we rescued him he was fatter but you could tell he was on his way to becoming thin but we think he was larger because he was kept in a stall most of the time.

    We've had the vet out a lot, done blood work, done fecal tests, no worms. We've had him checked for cushings and other diseases and everything comes up clean. He had a small cold which we cleared up so now he's even more active but he's just not putting on weight. We had him on Purina senior feed but it wasn't helping him so we moved him to a local feed our friends really liked, it's a 14% feed and he's noticeably perkier on it but still no weight gain.

    His teeth are perfect, he's got no ulcers far as I know. He's active and bright eyed, his coat actually is very soft and shiny.

    We've tried Weight builder and got no results as well as rice bran and also got no results with that. He was on each for about 3 months and there was no improvement. If anything it made him more reluctant to eat. Lately he hasn't really been bothering with hay, he stands under the shelter or grazes on new growing grass but turns his nose up at the hay unless he's really hungry.

    He's in the pasture with a 8 month old who he frequently tries to rob for food and another gelding. We tie him up for feedings so he can eat all his food.

      I agree w/ the two other answers. Don't use pills, they don't work and are always unhealthy in their own way. Push ups and sit ups are great but they won't help you lose weight, try going on fast walks or using a treadmill. Eat anything you want and plenty of it, EXCEPT sugar and any product that has sugar, keep fat content as close to zero as possible. No butter, no oils!!! Eat tuna, boneless, skinless chicken and turkey filets and massive quantities of salad and steamed veggies. Your salad dressing should be a little bit of apple cider vinegar or lemon w/ spices, no salt and just a few drops of sesame seed oil. good luck!!

      If you have not lifted weights on a consistent basis for at least a year, my first recommendation is to do full-body workouts that hit all the major muscle groups three times a week. Here's a sample full-body workout:

      Squat or leg press
      Bench Press

      Leg extension
      Bicep curls
      Leg curls

      5-10 minutes of cardio as a warm-up is good. If you can get your weight training routine done in 30 minutes, that's great. Most people lift weights for 45 minutes, and you don't want to do more than an hour.

      The number of sets and repetitions (and the weight you use) will depend on your goals. First, you need to figure out what your one-rep max is for each exercise -- that's the absolute most weight you can lift one time with proper form.     I'm 47 and I've been premenopausal for 4 years or more, periods still are regular, hair loss during this time, yikes. How much does selling "hope" get you yearly? 2 million for just the pills in the United States. With the exercise programs, equipment, and breakfast shakes added, the sum is billion a year and it's going up. So, how exactly did these numbers get so high? It starts off with either a despairing man or woman wishing to lose a few pounds. They read the promises on the bottles, see the gorgeous people on the displays, and ignorantly buy a months worth of pills, which ranges from -. Does that sounds like a good purchase?

    Even though the prices are horrible the pills have to work and be risk free, right? If you thought yes, you'd be dead wrong. Another bad part about alli is, even though it helps a little bit, once you stop taking alli you're definitely going to gain the weight back. This product doesn't help you change your eating habits, just blocks out fat. Once you're off alli, the extra 25% of your fat intact is going to come back into your diet, making it a huge waste of your time and money.
    Since diet pills are horrible for adults, what about children? Normally there are terrible side effects that come with diet pills for adults, let alone children! Children will get the same side effects, plus put their growth in danger. They need nutrients because they're growing and people get nutrients from food. If the children are fat, you shouldn't be restricting food but instead changing their diet to something more healthy and getting them to be more active. If doing that still does nothing for your child, there is one FDA approved weight loss drug used on children. It's called xenical and it works by blocking fat absorption. Even though xenical is approved, children under twelve aren't supposed to take it.

    It's evident that diet pills are not the best options for weight loss. Considering that one third of the adults and 20% of the children in America are obese, it doesn't look like the diet pills are doing their job at keeping you healthy anyways. If you want to lose weight, it's going to take time and hard effort. There are no get out of work quick schemes for losing weight. It's all about dieting and exercise. Vitamin B12 helps keep your red blood cells and nerves healthy. As people grow older, some have trouble absorbing vitamin B12 naturally found in food. Instead, they can choose foods, like fortified cereals, that have this vitamin added or use a B12 supplement.
    •Calcium. Calcium works with vitamin D to keep bones strong at all ages. Bone loss can lead to fractures in both older women and men. Calcium is found in milk and milk products (fat-free or low-fat is best), canned fish with soft bones, dark-green leafy vegetables like spinach, and foods with calcium added.
    •Vitamin D. Some people’s bodies make enough vitamin D if they are in the sun for 10 to 15 minutes at least twice a week. But, if you are older, you may not be able to get enough vitamin D that way. Try adding vitamin D-fortified milk and milk products, vitamin D-fortified cereals, and fatty fish to your diet, and/or use a vitamin D supplement.
    •Vitamin B6. This vitamin is needed to form red blood cells. It is found in potatoes, bananas, chicken breasts, and fortified cereals.       Lol, don't worry about supplements, your too young for them (most bottle say 18+ on them). If you want to loose weight, then do it by eating less and exercising more. Your too young for weightlifting, since if you start too early if will screw up your hormones, but don't be afraid to go out and run or play ball with friends, and try to eat less. Also, try to limit fast food to once a week, although once a month is best. Eating a fairly balanced diet will get you all the nutrients you need anyways, try to eat more fruits and veggies and less fatty foods like soda or candy. You shouldn't worry too much about your diet though, but make healthier choices and know when your full, and eat when you are really hungry not just bored (I'm guilty of going through a full bag of chips when I'm bored, or watching TV, or playing online, but I usually just chew gum). Again, your too young for weightlifting, but you can always do push ups, pull ups, sit ups, and dips. I had problems with obesity at your age, and I weighted about the same, but I was shorter. Loosing weight is mostly a mental challenge, as actually going out to jog for 20 minutes or eating a salad might make you feel like crap, but you should know its good for you and try your hardest to achieve your goals.

      Try low "carbing". Thats probably not what you want to do (I don't like it) but it works. You have to give up things like bread and ice cream, but you get to eat real food (meat, cheese, eggs, cream...) and you wont be hungry.

      I think is the G.I. Diet because I think eating by the Glycemic Index is just HEALTHY way to eat and its a program you can live on forever. Your never hungry and you can eat a lot of food. I also think that WEIGHT WATCHER'S is also good. The problem with most "DIETS" is that there is no way to maintain your weight loss. Everyone is real good about telling you how to LOSE the weight but not bothering to tell you How to keep the weight OFF.
      The fact is that 98% of ALL weight loss over 25 lbs comes back plus more. These people fail because they didn't change their eating patterns.....they just dieted. Unless you find a way to eat for Life....you will not keep the wight off. Only 2% keep it off for life.       the truth is pills don't work! I am a mother of 3 and have recently lost 30 lbs and still going. You need to take a better look at your diet and exercise routine. If your not getting results then there is a reason. Try changing it up, do more cardio. Diet pills don't work and are just bad for you! You need to give your body time, a month is nothing. It took your body longer than a month to put the weight on, give it time to come off. It just takes hard work and dedication.

      Start slow. Doing too much at once decreases your chances of sticking to a workout plan. Try walking for 10-15 minutes at a brisk pace (you can adjust this if it is too much or too little). As this gets easier for you, increase your time by a few minutes. You want to do this most days of the week (at least 5), although it may be best to start with 3 days/week and work up from there. Set goals for yourself. For example, in one month be able to walk for 30 minutes, 4 days/week. In 2 months be able to walk for 45 minutes. As you are able to increase the time that you workout for, you will be able to burn more calories, which will help you to burn fat faster. Since you are overweight, you don't want to do too much too quickly because this could lead to sore knees, which would discourage you from working out. Another great option, that is easy on the knees is riding a bike. Good luck! Stay positive and stick to a routine and you will get the results you want.

    Hello. I am a nineteen year old female and I don't really eat like I should, and I never really exercise. Well, I do eat WELL, like foods that are good for me, but I don't eat enough. I just can;t force myself to eat more than 1000 calories of fruit and whatnot a day. But as far as exercise goes, I am guilty there, I hate doing it and I don't really have time. However, I am going to commit myself to doing about half an hour to an hour of jogging a day, but my diet will probably remain the same.

    I was wondering if, since I don't exercise a lot, one a day womens (active metabolism) would help aid me in weight loss and diet regulation, even to some degree.

    I don't know if it actually does help boost your metabolism even if you don't exercise, but I need a supplement that WILL DO THAT. However, I thought that this one might be a good idea because since I don't eat much, and it's a multivitamin for women, it would give me the things that I don't get from food as well.

    However, a metabolism booster is my main goal. So if you know something other than this that boosts the metabolism, then please tell me, and I will get a more simple multivitamin to go along.

    Admittedly, if they still prescribed amphetamines for fatigue and weight loss instead of just ADD I would definitely try for that. But I just have to go for the next best thing, so any help would be appreciated.
    Well like I said, I basically already have set a "calorie limit"

    But, I don't care what anyone here thinks, I can not spend my whole week exercising. I have a baby to take care of twenty four seven, so I probably burn enough calories as it is not even trying. However, as far as REAL, official exercise, I WILL NOT do it for more than 30-60 minutes a day. And probably not even every day.

      That is a supplement. Just like all the other tons of "fat loss, energy booster" products it is only a supplement. Exercise and proper diet is a must before you can even consider these types of pills to work with your body. You dont have to eat 1000 calories of fruits (id probably puke if i tried) just dont eat over a certain calorie number. To be honest, i ate barely any fruits and veggies, but i lost nearly 50 pounds so far. Thats because i set a calorie limit of no more than 2000 a day no matter what, and i exercised 5 times per week.

      So if you try these pills or any other for weight loss, set a calorie limit, and exercise. It wont work on its own.

      I'm 40 and trying to lose 10lbs myself. I'm not really heavy, but a few pounds have snuck up on me. If your friend has a lot of weight to lose I do recommend Weight Watchers. A few of my friends tried it and lost a good amount of weight.
      Personally, I have started walking at least 30 mins a day 6x a week. I eat what I like, but not a whole bunch of it. I don't eat many bread products, but I do eat dairy and meat. Trying to get more fiber by eating more veggies & fruits. I'm adding fiber supplements to my diet as well. And make sure she doesn't drink too may sweet liquids...those really add calories!       I question if the creatine your friend used was solely responsible for her weight loss. Was she also dieting and exercising well? Creatine is known to cause water retention- ideally within muscles, thus boosting muscle size and endurance, but it also settles into your body tissues overall. In fact, to really get the full benefit of creatine you need to drink at least 12-16 glasses of water every day. This is not really viewed as a weight loss supplement. It is definitely good for building muscle mass. I think your are saying you don't want that. You also won't want the added weight from water retention. Lifting weights and your running regimen along with reasonable eating habits is the way to go. Sounds like you are doing that. There is a lot of really good info out there if you do a google on 'creatine women'. If you decide to take it you want to gear it to your female body weight so you're not dosing like a man would do which can cause some unpleasant, though not common side effects. Just sounds like you are already on the right track and need to give yourself some time. And by the way, don't know what kind of strength training you do but if you skip the machines, for the most part and work the free weights as hard as you can you'll get better benefit and you won't bulk up- just tone beautifully.

      3 small meals and two snacks is a great idea - make your lunch and dinner low carb but high in vegies (so grilled chicken/fish/tofu and steamed vegies, salads etc) and keep you snacks non fat but filling - fruit and vegies, non fat yoghurt etc. It's not about a particular diet, the important thing is that you eat less calories than you expend and you don't starve yourself otherwise you'll give up.

      Some lunch ideas, grilled salmon veg and noodles soup with pasta(weird, but tasty) with wholemeale bread , bannana sandwiches make a nice light luch if your quesy. Other lunched can be grilled chicken with new potatoes and salad. yougurts are a great snack. Anougther easy quick luch is weatabix with strawberrys and milk.

      Find a flat location that has something behind your head you can grab onto. raise your legs to 90 degrees then slowly lower them. Do this about 10x then take a break then try 10x again then a break then 10x again until it burns. after a week or so start holding small weights between your feets and repeat. this works great for me hope it works for you too!

      Well, I am 50. Atkins makes money primarily for your local grocers, farmers etc because the food that you eat on Atkins is whole real food. As a matter of fact, I get my low carb food primarily from the Whole Foods Market. I wish that I had a spot for a vegetable garden so that I could feast on even fresher low carb produce. I have learned to cook on Atkins and even if I did not lose 30 lbs, it would be Atkins all the way.The diet is just so natural that you can't go wrong with it if you use your noggin. Sure, you can get low carb products such as shakes, bars, cereals etc but they are not needed.

      BTW, I competed in a 5K run last year. I was strictly doing Atkins just to see if it were true. I wanted to see if it were true that you need carbohydrates to get the energy to accomplish such a feat. Maybe I am from Venus, but I did fine on low carb. I have made attempts at 5K runs before and always came in last. I didn't even run the entire race...I walked. But, at the age of 49, this was the first time that I completed the race. I protein loaded the night before with a steak, shrimp and mustard greens which was delicious. The morning of the race, I had 2 strips of bacon and 2 eggs and a glass of V8 juice.I have been an Atkinser for nearly 5 years.

      Your described body measurements give me the impression that you're actually quite alluring already and it would be a shame and a crime if anyone kicked you out of bed based on what you're telling us.

      The only advice I'd give you is to get more disciplined with cutting out the junk and sweets immediately after intense exercise. Just don't eat it. You've already demonstrated that you've got the exercise goals within your grasp...just expand it to your food intake.

      Another thing; you didn't really describe in sufficient detail your exercise regimen. You said you trained for two half-marathons in a year, but that leaves a large amount of time not accounted for. Are you running regularly? How much?

      Cross training by bicycling can also benefit you. 2-2 and a half hours of intense bicycling can burn almost as many calories as running, depending on your average running speed.

      People always want to take diet pills to lose weight, but there is no substitute for good old-fashioned exercise. I think if a person wants to lose weight & be healthy he/she should change their lifestyle & be physically fit overall, not just rely on pills. Once you stop taking the pills, you have to think how you're going to maintain your shape & continue to keep the weight off. I suggest exercising. Taking a walk is great exercise, especially if you walk at a brisk pace - it burns a lot of calories. Do some aerobics (I use The Firm & it's really fun) or kickboxing, anything to get your heart rate up & burn fat. Try to do a variety of things so you stay motivated & don't get bored.

      If you are like most overweight people, than you would agree that running is not your favorite thing to do. First off, a low carbohydrate diet is the best thing to lose weight. Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water each day (NO SODA). Natural juices are ok but they do have sugar in them and yes folk’s sugar is a BAD carbohydrate so limit the amount of juice you intake. Now as far as working out you should do a 3 day a week (M-W-F) type of workout. You will GAIN weight if you work out every day. The best way to lose weight, tone your body, and keep your heart rate up is Peripheral Heart Action (PHA) Circuit Training. So, what in the world does "peripheral heart action" mean? I'm glad you asked. The term refers to a circuit where upper body and lower body exercises are alternated back and forth. What this does is force the blood flow to keep switching from different parts of the body as you change exercises emphasizing different muscle groups. It results in a more demanding workout for the cardiovascular system because the blood flow isn't able to get into an established pattern like it could if you were just working the same muscle groups. The most important part is the concept of alternating upper and lower body (or core) exercises, you can use any exercises you want. When you do this type of work out your body will keep burning fat 24 to 36 hours after the workout is done. That is why you want to only do a M-W-F workout. With this type of program you can lose up to 10 lbs a week but that is on the high end. Most people lose about 3 to 6 lbs a week and get the same results every single week. It is not like most plans where you start of loosing large amounts and then taper off. This is the best way to lose weight, tone your body, and have a good cardio workout. PHA programs are not just for men who want to lose weight and bulk up. PHA programs work faster for women than men. Women tend to lose weight faster and men tend to bulk up a little bit before losing fat. If women keep the weights low they will lose the fat and tone there body. If men increase the weight as the program goes on they will build muscle and lose fat. Below is an example of a starter PHA Program.

      Go through each of the 4 exercises in the Group A back to back with no rest in between (this is called a "superset"). When you have completed all 4 exercises, rest for a short period of time, then repeat the circuit two more times in the same manner (for a total of 3 times through). After the 3rd time, rest a short period then switch to the exercises in Group B and go through those 4 new exercises in the same manner as Group A for 3 sets.

      Rest periods: Initially, rest for one minute in between each circuit and in between switching from circuit A to B. Gradually decrease the rest periods until you can complete the whole thing with only 30 seconds rest in between each circuit. If you can't get through the 4 exercises in a row with no rest, that's OK in the beginning. Take a few breaths in between exercises as needed.

      Weight/number of repetitions: Use weights that allow you to get in between 8-15 repetitions of each exercise. 12 is a good number to start, there is no magic to it. Remember, you will be taxing your cardio as well, so the weights will have to be a little lighter than what you could lift with longer rest periods. Make sure you are pushing yourself though...if you aren't huffing and puffing hard afterwards, you aren't getting the full benefits.

      Frequency: Do this program 3 times per week. Combine it with a good warm up and cool down. You can do some walking, running or other cardio on off days if you wish, but that isn't necessary. Follow the program for 6 weeks and then take a week off of weight training. After the back off week, you can start up again with a new circuit by substituting in the alternate exercise suggestions to change it up.

      Conclusion: Try this program out for a few months and I'm sure you will be pleased with the results. When combined with a sensible nutrition plan, you can expect to see some good results in terms of weight loss and body composition. Good luck with your training and stay healthy.

    He said I actually need a new knee replacement, but in Canada they won't give you one until you are 65 because they feel the replacement parts only last up to 25 years, which would require a revision, which wouldn't be good news.

    My frustration is I'm young, I finally have enough money to travel to places I have dreamed of, I'm single and it's a deterrent in my mind, and I don't think it's fair to have to wait that long when I want to live now, not be all for it at 65.

    I am overweight by about 80 pounds according to his charts. I am large boned and can carry a lot of weight, but I have to practically starve to maintain that 80 pound weight loss. I am totally willing to do it though and want to..weight has always been a yo yo issue for me my whole life.

    I stopped eating meat a long time ago. But I am more open now that I have found organic and hormone free chicken/meat/turkey.

    I know for sure sugar is my number one poison and addiction. I also suspect gluten is a contributor to my not feeling well, in addition to weight gain.

    If you have any ideas, have lived through this yourself, or have any help or links to living with this or, have another idea of getting a new knee before 65, I would deeply appreciate your help.

      I myself have had two hip replacements, due to osteoarthritis, and am overweight. I have lost about 45 pounds so far and now that I can walk better and exercise with my new hips it will be easier to continue to lose more weight.

      Certainly there are many diets that can help you lose for a while. But the trick is to maintain the weight loss. So a lifestyle change is the only real solution. I am not going to say that this or that diet is the way to go, but here are a few suggestions:

      --Eating a diet of anti-inflammatory foods and cutting out inflammatory foods helped me with pain and swelling in my joints as well as helping me drop weight. It is a very healthy diet and is good for prevention of many diseases, including heart disease and cancer.
      --Cutting out all refined sugars, white breads and white pastas, etc.
      --Cutting out all sodas.
      --Cutting out fried and high fat foods.
      --Eating snacks such as fruit (apples, pears -- high fiber) and nuts like walnuts (rich in Omega 3 fats which we need).
      --Portion control.
      --Exercise at least 3 times a week.
      --Low impact exercise like walking, cycling or swimming.
      All these things can help with your pain and weight loss and you can start with small changes and build up. Don't think of it as a diet. If you eat something "bad" some days -- don't worry. Just go back and do the best you can. There are times when you will want that pizza, so have it, but go back and go for the salmon and broccoli the next day. I also went gluten free and dairy free. But make sure you take a good multi vitamin and perhaps a fish oil supplement. Good luck with everything.

    weight loss for a healthy and athletic person?
    I'm woman, 18 years , athletic, i exercise daily including a 3 mile run 5 days a week, i eat normally and relatively healthy. I'm not even close to obese, but i don't have nearly the athletic build i want or that one would expect. I'm 150 lbs and 5'2'', grant it that a huge majority of that is muscle which is more dense and i know weighs more, but i still struggle to get the body i want. there isn't a hereditary issue either, so I don't understand! i would really like to loose about 10 or 15 lbs of fat but no matter how regular i make my diet or exercise, i never loose it. what am i missing in all of this?? how do women best loose fat?

      Hi,

      I graduated high school at 240 pounds and at 5 foot 3 that made me about as round as I was tall. I was one of those overweight teenagers who ate anything and everything without any regard to the effects it was having on my own body. Therefore, I began the diet pills, which did not work; I ate the special diet foods and even began drinking diet beverages. None of this stuff worked for me, just as it does not work for millions of overweight people. Eating less did not work and I was not one to work out or even get up and do anything remotely related to exercise. I knew I would look silly and it would hurt.     I'm a female and am 5'11" and weigh 150 pounds. What is my ideal weight/some good weight-loss tips?
    I used to weigh 125 when I was in high school and I've put on 25 pounds in five years since then. I do not want to be one of those women who gets fatter as they get older. I'm tall, so it doesn't look as bad as it would on a shorter person, but 150 is a lot for a woman.

    I really haven't ever dieted or worked out before, so any guidance on what is HEALTHY and would be best is appreciated.       keep it around 150 and you boys will melt for you.
      However you should start some form of exersice; whether its jogging, playing sports, swimming, yoga , pilate, squash, tennis, or whatever, choose something that you think you are gonna have fun doing. Doing exercise will make your body produce more endorphines which in turn will make you feel good and elevate your mood.
      Also try to replace some of your simple carbs intake with some good carbs. ie, switch your blueberry muffin into raisinbran muffin. Also try to switch carbs with some protein. i.e switch your fried rice dinner with oven roasted chicken( YUM YUM).
      cutting down on carbs will reduce that bloated feeling you might have sometimes.
      In Conclusion, 1)do some exercise you like,2) cut down on some simple carbs, 3) don't get caught in the media trying to sell you that anorexic look. 5'11' at 150lbs is SEXY!

    Why? Why does every diet equate losing weight with eating fruits, vegetables, and skinless chicken?

    A person could lose weight eating candy bars! That's right, if someone was to eat 6 candy bars, and nothing else, they would lose weight!

    (Candy Bar = 250 calories) x 6 = 1500 calories

    That's the perfect amount of calories required for the average woman to lose one pound of fat per week, the speed deemed safe and effective by nutritional experts (anything more than that would be labeled a crash diet, unless the dieter in question was obese).

    I've found that the best, most satisfying way to lose weight is to eat whatever the hell I want, but less.

    Why do all of these diets practically FORCE bland, healthy eating on dieters when it will make no difference to weight loss?

    Neither fat, sugar, or carbs are responsible for weight gain. The reason that the public believes that they are is because they have a higher ratio of calories per gram.
    But Tony, the protein problem is easily fixed if you choose a Snickers! Hamburgers from McDonalds also contain protein as well.

    That said, your claim that most diets are low in fat and high in carbs... have you never heard of Atkins?

      Ah but your so wrong.

      Candy bar equals useless calories that do not maintain muscle mass with enough protein. Muscle loss equals metabolism slow down. Metabolism slow down equals turning your body into a fat gaining machine.

      Not only muscle loss but health loss. You cannot possibly get the required daily intake of necessary nutrients from eating candy bars.

      Diets are about as useless as the eating your proposing. Diets are usually low in animal fats and extremely calorie strict. When in fact high protein and high animal fats with low refined sugars and carbs is the best way to lose fat.

      People would lose more body fat on proper 2500 calorie a day eating plan then you on your 1500 calorie candy bar diet.

      Not all calories are made up equally. Perhaps you have really good genetics that allow you to eat so badly and get away with it, but for most people this way of eating will simply not work.

    I am doing some research on diet pills. From what I have found so far the best working ones are Lipvox, Ephedrasil, Slim Quick, and Zalestrim.
    Although Lipvox and Ephedrasil seem the best, they are VERY expensive about 0 a bottle. So, I am looking more at Slim Quick and Zalestrim.
    Slim Quick claims they are the best for woman, attacking fat areas that give woman problems. If it works as well as it says it does, than its worth it for the price.
    Zalestrim claims to aid in weight loss, says that it "awakens" the hormones and tissues in the breasts, enhancing them slightly, and it also claims to have a sexual stimulant. This one also sounds reasonable for the price - if it works.
    I am mainly looking for opinions on the last two products, but if you have used the first two let me know what you thought. I am NOT looking for your opinion on diet pills in general, I don't want to hear how you feel are "bad"...My question is which one of these do you prefer, do you know work? Thanks.

    mirena IUD horrible? best thing ever?
    I have had the mirena IUD for about 3 months, I went for this birth control option because I was gaining a lot of weight on the pill, even the low dose.

    The dr. talked me into mirena over the copper because all of these great pluses she listed. leaving out anything bad of course. Later when I looked more into it I thought I made a mistake by picking it because so many women hated it and experienced weight gain which was my problem to start with.

    Before birth control did it toll on me, I was 145 pounds. Now I am unfortunately 176 pounds, trying my hardest to lose weight. I am planning on being even more stick with my diet and working out even more then i already do. Hopefully I will see some weight loss, but I wanted to know about other peoples experiences and weather or not you experience weight gain, or losing the ability to drop the pounds.

    I am 40 year old and about 20 lbs over weight. I started kickboxing which is a great cardio work out and do it three times a week. I know diet is more than have the battle when loosing weight. I do not have the time to cook a lot of healthy meals and make sure I am eating right. I do my best, but sometimes I find myself eating out too much! I am thinking about the NutriSystem plan.       Since you are obviously still physically active I'd suggest concentrating less on diet and more on building muscle mass. Ultimately you will burn that excess fat once you create a deficit of calories in vs. energy out. The catch most people don't realize is when you diet (alone) your body adjusts its metabolism based on that intake. In other words if you drop your calories by 50% your metabolism might drop by 30-40%- only netting a 10-20% fat burning advantage. In the meantime you are hungry and have less energy. A better solution is to fine tune your diet towards low fat, lean protein and complex carbs but only reduce your caloric intake by 15-25%. That type of reduction at your age won't 'alarm' your body into reducing your metabolism & will keep your energy levels up allowing you to build muscle mass. As you build muscle mass you'll start burning excess fat 24/7. Cardio is great but only burns calories while your heart rate is up- to burn fat all day you need that extra muscle!

    Hello guys! I am running into a little bit of trouble with my weight loss program. I know this is a question that mostly only females asks, and I feel kind of awkward asking this, but I am going to ask anyways, so I please ask for the best of your help. I have been making a major lifestyle change over the past 9 months and I have went from being ~185 pounds and have know become around ~138 pounds. I am striving very hard for the last of my efforts to get rid of the last of my stomach fat but have been having a very hard time achieving that lately. A little background about myself is that I am currently 15, and have been moderately active during the school year, but it has slowed down a little because of summer break and sports at school stopping. I usually worked out once a week during the school year, and now that summer is starting, I plan on working out about 3 times a week at the gym. I also use the dietary supplement CLA to aid in my weight loss along with all my hard efforts. Back to the main problem though, I believe that I may be eating way to little calories and causing to 1) do harm to my body and 2) slow down my weight loss. I on average consume around 1,000 to 1,500 calories and 1,500 being my highest. However throughout the week, I will sometimes have 1 or 2 days where I eat around 1,800-2,000 calories, and I feel terrible after that and feel like I have caused weight gain on myself. Know, after doing numerous research, I have convinced myself, but I am not sure if it is true or not, but have put myself in starvation mode and have stopped myself from losing weight.       first of all congratulations on getting this far! as your body loses weight, it gets harder and harder to come off. you are going to have to work harder. i think its a great idea to start working out 3 times a week, it will kick your metabolism into gear and help the weight come off. when you hit another wall, try doing cardio twice a week, and weight lifting 3 times a week, or something like that to switch it up and keep your body guessing.

      but onto the calories! you are definitely not eating enough. males need AT LEAST 1500 calories a day just for a normal day. thats without working out or anything. my advice to you is to go online and look up a daily calorie intake calculator, take time to find a good one where you enter your age, height, weight, etc etc. it will tell you how many calories you need to sustain the weight you are at right now. to lose weight, cut 500 calories off that number, and that is what you should be eating. 500 calories times 7 days a week is 3500 calories, which is equal to losing 1 pound. if you want to lose more, cut more, but there is a certain point where you cant take off too many calories or you will go into starvation mode. another thing you can do is look up the calorie intake for your goal weight, and eat that many calories.

    Vitamins and weight loss...What to take?
    I need to take certain vitamins as it is:
    Iron 300mg daily
    calcium 500mg daily
    B12 1000mcg daily
    D-400 daily

    I also need a supplement since I know I'm not getting what I need. Anyone have any reccomendations on what multivitamin a woman should take whos trying to lose weight, that I can take on top of the ones already listed?

    Also any other vitamins I should be taking?

    I do have omega 3 I may start taking, im not sure what else to take. I have brittle nails and hair so maybe something that helps with that.

    And I know no pills make me lose weight, I am eating healthy and exercising I'm looking for something that would help on top of all that.

    Overly interactive neighbor or am I overreacting?
    I apologize for the length of this yet wanted to provide enough detail so that your opinions could be formed to help me determine if I'm just overreacting or if the neighbor is crossing the line. Here goes: I have recently and only temporarily moved in to my boyfriends house and everything is fabulous, except for one of his neighbors. I have expressed feelings of discomfort to my boyfriend and while he agrees that his neighbor is crazy, he is too nice of a guy to really say anything. For the past 4 years my boyfriend has lived next door to a family of 4. There is a husband, wife, daughter and son. At some point the wife confided in my boyfriend that her husband is crazy and she and the kids are planning on moving out once the youngest, her son, graduates high school. Over time she continues to give him little nuggets of info about her crazy husband and periodically brings baked goods and bakes treats for our dogs, though her family has no pets. In the past six months she has brought over more than 50 name brand shirts from a designer outlet store for my boyfriend. Following her sons recent graduation her husband was out of town for a few nights. In his absence, she allowed her son to throw a big pool party, complete with underage drinking. At one point, close to midnight, she came over asking to borrow some ice and when my boyfriend explained he doesn't have an ice maker, we use trays, she asked to borrow a couple. When there was a possible threat of cops coming to her house to break up the party,she rounded up all the trash and put the cans next to our trashcans in front of his garage. The next day she sent my boyfriend a text and then stopped by to tell my boyfriend what was going on, and to give him another bag of polo shirts. He ensured her he wouldn't mention it to her husband and thanked her for the shirts. Although I am clearly home all day, she does not come over unless he is home. We have only had a few interchanges and she gave me a couple dresses, which I followed up with a thank you card and personal thanks. She seems to dart from her car to the front door when I'm around and it makes me wonder why she seems to avoid me and then comes over multiple times a day when my boyfriend is around. When we decided to leave some clothes we were going to donate on top of a shopping bag full of clothes she left at the front door, to try and send her the hint, she moved the bag so that it was directly in front of the door on the welcome mat and then took the bag from the new phone book that was on the step and hung it from the doorknob with a box of turnovers. I'm trying my best to ignore her and to maintain the neighborly relationship between my boyfriend and his neighbors but I can't help but feel uncomfortable by her constant gifts, unsolicited advice, unsolicited and detailed personal information, and frequent interruptions. We've tried to ignore her when she rings the bell but she just calls, texts or comes back later at all hours of night/day. When my boyfriend and I talk about it I feel terrible because he can't control her actions and yet I feel like something needs to be said or things will continue to be weird. He is under the impression that she's just crazy but harmless. I find it odd that a middle aged woman thinks discussing her marital issues with her twenty-something neighbor is acceptable. I can't help but shake the feeling that there are some deeper issues going on with this family and I'd rather they not involve myself or my boyfriend. I want to be respectful and ensure that the relationship with the neighbors remains friendly, and at the same time feel like this lady is overstepping her neighborly boundaries and taking advantage of my boyfriends kindness.     Hi. I just have a quick question about this stuff.My boyfriend's friend is an associate of Usana. The package is 0 to help with weight loss. He said that the people he's sold it to have lost from 10 pounds to almost 100 pounds. As an average sized woman (size 11 jeans, medium tshirt, curvy body) i want to try this out, but i know that its hard for women to lose weight. For men its easier, i forget why. but yeah.
