Weight loss is a raging battle with consumers across the United States. With the obesity crisis rising yearly, consumers are constantly looking for weight loss tips to help win the struggle against fat. The public is becoming more aware of the added health risks being overweight. So here is a little tip which could help you along with the battle of the bulge
New studies are being release about the benefits of rye bread. Since every dieter knows they should start with a healthy breakfast daily why not replace that wheat toast with rye? The new studies are suggesting rye bread increases the feeling of fullness up to eight hours. The breakfast cereals made from rye did not produce any difference in satiety. The greatest amount of decrease hunger came from breads made from rye bran.
Rye bread is a very good source of Thiamin, Folate, Selenium and Manganese but is high in sodium. It is also low in saturated fat and only has a glycemic load of 8. A typical recommend glycemic load per day is a hundred. Diabetics should try to stay a little lower.
Rye is a great source of fiber which most Americans lack in their diet. Numerous studies over the years have concluded that fiber is needed in everyone's daily food intake. Fiber can help prevent constipation, hemorrhoids, gallstones, diabetes and diverticulosis to name a few. Fiber has also been linked to decreasing risk when it comes to heart disease and several cancers.
The use of rye can be traced back to approximately 1800BC and looks similar to wheat and barley. Rye seed and dried plants have been used for thousands of years in to help with hundreds of ailments and diseases. Several tinctures and infusions can still be found made from rye and are attributed to curing many conditions.
Other countries have known long before us the benefits of rye and have been consuming it widely in their diets. As for the United States, importing of rye have dropped considerably over the years. One would think that considering the abundant health benefits gained from rye, our imports would have increased. Are consumers really as health conscious as they appear to be? Or is it all just an illusion Americans wants our neighbors to think? Do Americans like the reputation of 70 percent of their population being overweight? Hopefully one day consumers will wake up to the importance of nutrition and how it affects their health. In the meantime, there is a McDonalds in almost every town, but I doubt you will find any rye inside.

QUESTION:
Where can you advertise a weight loss support group for free?
Where on the internet can you advertise a weight loss support group for free? We are desperately trying to get more members and have no idea where to post it. It's for women only who are serious. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.-
ANSWER:
- myspace.com
- yahoo.com has member groups you can start one upGood luck there are already hundreds of these support groups online (google it) and free but they're all the same. You see the same conversation/ thread:
question: help me i need to lose weight
answer: you can do it (blah blah)
Good luck with this, and if you would post your website after replying to your "best answer", I'll visit & if it's helpful I'll give it a try.
I suggest you start off slowly w/in your community... there must be several people who want to lose weight. Post up signs at the local junior college or YMCA or laundromat or apartment building. If your website is good enough, by word of mouth your website will grow bigger. It'll take time, but it can be done.

QUESTION:
Are there any online support groups for weight loss?
I don't want a huge forum - it's easy to get lost in those. I'd like to meet anywhere from 1-4 others online in a sort of weight loss support group. Any suggestions on where to find this?-
ANSWER:
Believe it or not, the best support you're going to find is right there in front of your monitor. Rearrange your thought processes on dieting from living to eat to eating to live. It's not hard, just takes some time, patience, and positivity. Here's my weightloss blog with links:Here’s all you need to lose weight all over, look good, and get really healthy. First, you have to realize there is no quick, long lasting weight loss plan or pill that is going to do the trick. It’s purely mental. You have to learn to “Eat to live, don’t live to eat”. Sounds simple, doesn’t it? It is, if you understand that you are going to be reprogramming how you think about eating for the next few weeks. Old habits die hard, right? Not really. You get rid of bad habits by replacing them with good habits. If you learn to count your Calories, keep Calorie intake lower than output, exercise moderately, and eat only healthy food, you will lose weight. That’s a fact. All it takes is repetition. All success stories have this in common: The successful folks among us know how to be patient, persistent, and consistent. Set a goal, write it down, and stick with it. The benefits of feeling good will outweigh any sense of sacrifice you might feel about having to push away that cake and ice cream. Here are some helpful and healthy links to help you get started on your way:

QUESTION:
Stop smoking and weight loss support groups?
I'm trying to help and support my sister in her attempt to stop smoking. Each time she's tried, she ends up gaining weight, and with a lifestyle quite stressful, she returned to cigarettes. If anyone has any good information about online support groups, messageboards, or an easy way to talk with others in the same boat, I think it might help her.
She's a beautiful person and been there for me a lot, but I don't know how to help her do this. She's a great wife and mother, (never smokes in the house or car around the kids) and unlike many who smoke WANTS to quit.
Those things are so addictive. She knows how harmful it is, and feels so stupid for smoking, which then makes her depressed. She had some success with the patch, so is starting that and Weight Watchers, and an excercise group she enjoys.
She lives in a small town, and will attend WW meetings, but it doesn't seem enough support to get through such a tough struggle.
Thanks for any help.-
ANSWER:
This is a great website that I used to help me stop smoking. It will allow your sister to set a quit date and then once she quits, it adds up all the money she has saved and all the hours added to her life from quitting!! It's very inspirational and she could even upgrade her membership to make friends that have quit too (i didn't do that part).
http://www.quitnet.com/
Also, I have used the Quit Now hot-line here in Ohio. Not sure where she lives, but most states have their own program. She can call up a "quit coach" anytime she gets a craving. They will also call her once a week to follow up and see how she is doing. As for the weight loss, it's not a good idea to try and do everything all at once. I quit smoking for two weeks and then decided to start dieting and exercising more. There will be a natural weight gain from quitting the nicotine, but it's much healthier than smoking!! I hope this helps...I've been smoke-free for 22 days now!!

ANSWER:
Retaining excess water can make you feel bloated. It can also make your wrists, ankles, hands and feet swell and your face look puffy. Sure, you have probably learned that the best way to lose water weight is actually to drink more water. This is absolutely true. In fact, water weight is usually a sign that your body is "scared" to lose any more water and as a countermeasure is retaining it like a camel. The thing is, you are not a camel! Here are 5 tips for fine-tuning your water weight loss plan:
Tip #1: Get a 32 oz. or 64 oz. refillable container: You can find these little babies for very cheap at almost any discount or sporting goods store and they come in all kinds of cool designs. Buy them not for their cool designs, however, but rather for their amazing capacity: you can really put a lot of water into these things. And, unlike a conventional cup, their portable design encourages you to carry them wherever you go. If you drink just 1 - 2 of these mega-containers' worth of water each day, your body will start shedding the excess water that it has been holding onto for dear life for so long.
Tip #2: Add a little lemon or lime: To your mega-container, add a squeeze or two of lemon or lime. These citrus fruits act as natural diuretics, and their refreshing taste makes the water go down that much easier.
Tip #3: Eat lower sodium foods: Sodium and water weight go hand-in-hand. When you drink more water, your body is freed to release some of its sodium stores. Conversely, when you switch to a lower sodium diet, your body will tend to store less excess water. Bonus tip: cutting down on diet sodas will cut your sodium intake significantly.
Tip #4: Try a natural diuretic: Diuretics help your body flush water weight. But prescription diuretics can be rather harsh on your system and often cause intense diarrhea. Try a natural diuretic such as an herbal-based one for a gentler, healthier experience of forcing that excess water out of your body.
Tip #5: Sprinkle in some exercise: Yes, that weight loss panacea, exercise, comes in handy for helping you to lose water weight, too. Bonus tip: choose exercises that work the areas of your body (e.g., wrists or ankles) that need the most help in losing water.
Drinking more water is the cornerstone to a water weight loss strategy. Adding a bit of citrus to your water, taking natural diuretics, eating a low sodium diet, and doing concentrated exercises can also help you shed that weight. Losing water weight is the first step to looking sexy and feeling great with a comprehensive weight loss plan.
Take care...

QUESTION:
Online weight loss support group?
Does anyone know of a popular online weight loss support group, besides weight watchers?-
ANSWER:
Okay this is not an online site suggestion but..... losing weight doesn't mean to stop eating just what you eat. Easy thing {rule of thumb} to remember that the less processing the better the food is for you. If you buy fresh veges an fresh fruit..... lean meats an grain breads {limit breads} then the weight will start to drop. Oh an stay well hydrated..... water for thirst instead of sodas an other junk drinks. Use real sugar an just cut down on the sweets. Have a sweet fruit instead of a sweet pop-tart. Baby leaf spinach is better than lettuce as far as vitamins. Diet foods are expensive an less nutrients. Hope all this helps an good luck with your weight loss.
