It seems like 115 would just be way too thin.I am 5'3" and went from 120-112, and noticed a huge difference in the way I looked. Mostly my stomach and waist, and a bit in my face. The 8 lb difference took me from a size 5 to a size 3.
I would say that 10 lbs on a 5'6" would be a very noticable difference, unless the weightloss is partly muscle tissue.

So someone (A) who is 15st = 210LBS they lose 10lbs so 10 divided by 210 x 100 = 4.76% lost of the total weight.Let's assume someone weighs 10st 7lbs that's 147lbs and they lose 7lbs less than the above but the % is the same here . Same sum 7 divide by 147 x 100 4.76%
But if the 10st 7lb person loses 10lbs the same weight loss as (A) 10 divide by 147 x 100 = 6.8%.
Easy way to solve this is have 2 awards. One to the person who loses the most lbs that way you motivate the fatties and one to those who lose the biggest % you motivate the not so fatties.

You need to be working out atleast 3 times a week for atleast 60 min each time. That is a minimum, anything more is good too. Just no more than 6 days a week. And also dont do just cardio. Do half cardio and half weight training. Cardio with burn a lot of the calories, but so will the weight training as well as fat. Plus you muscles will get toned from the weights. Doing just cardio doesnt do much, you may drop the pounds but in the mirror it will compare nothing to if you add weight training in too. I work out 6 days a week, 30-45 min cardio and 60-90 min weight training. Im 20 5'7 started at 174 and now im 149. All within 2 months.

Also, when you are eating a meal, make sure the majority is veggies, and about 1/4 of the plate a meat, and 1/4 a carb.
This way you do not have to sacrifice quantity when you are eating, and you will still become full just from eating the good stuff!

2 pounds a week is absolutly healthy. For your height and weight I would not recommend losing any more than that in a given 2 week period. To do this, make sure that you are not starving yourself. Instead of eating 3 big meals a day, eat 6 small meals a day. You should eat something every 2-3 hours. Have a good breakfast, as this is the most important. Then eat a snack (apple, orange, carrots) in the middle of breakfast and lunch. Eat a medium sized lunch ( a sandwich with cottage cheese, or fruit) then eat another snack a couple hours later (apple, string cheese, almonds, etc..) eat dinner (skinless chicken, salad) and then eat some fruit a couple hours before you go to bed. Eating this way will prevent you from over eating during one meal. You will lose weight in no time! Adding exercise will be even more beneficial for you. Go for a long walk, run, swim.. just get moving for atleast 30 minutes a day where you increase your heart rate. Doing this for a month or more will not only allow you to lose weight, but if you stick with the program you will develop a habit of having a healthy lifestyle. Good luck!

It really depends on the person...I guess I'll just answer based on my own experience. I used to have a lot of visible belly fat (it was really gross...). This summer, I dieted and exercised and within the first 2-3 weeks, I lost around 6-8 lbs. I saw a huge difference in my body. Most of the fat around my stomach was gone, and now, I pretty much have a flat stomach except for bit of fat that I'm still working on to get off.The average person, if on a *healthy* diet (1000-1200 calories, 15 minutes of cardio), will lose about 2 lbs per week. Losing any more than 2 lbs per week is dangerous. I lost around 3-4 lbs in the first week, and this is because I went on a 700 calorie diet. I do not recommend this because now, I feel moody all the time and feel dizzy/light-headed. Plus, the weight stops coming off after a few weeks. So moral of the story? Don't go below 1000 calories on a diet. (I'm currently working towards a higher calorie consumption.)

Sounds like you need some change! Change up your workout routine or add light weights to the cardio you are already doing. No hunny that is healthy I went to a fat camp over the summer for the last two years, to be a junior counselor….I was heavy, and I lost 30 pounds in two months the first year I went, and the second I lost 16 and gained plenty of muscle from June 27th - August 16th. It is a credible camp so I did loss the weight the right way "Camp Pocono Trails (new image)" in Reeder’s, Pennsylvania. We had 3 meals a day, and two snacks one after dinner and one before lunch, lots of activity and games everyone fits in, even skinny girls went to camp for the friends. There was many hills and lots of walking to get to are locations for the day, not to mention the heat, and humidity. I loved the place and wish to go back again! So basically my point is yes 38 pounds in 3 months is fine.

The question is, do you really NEED to lose that weight? Where are you on the BMI chart? Are you already below 15%?The thinner you are, the harder it is to lose weight. And you probably don't want to if you are already at your minimum BMI.
When you rely on artificial means of weight loss, it won't be permanent, so have fun with that sauna suit, but don't use it to lose weight.
The bottom line is, don't be in a hurry to lose the weight. Eat healthy food and work on your strength training. In the long run, developing muscle tissue helps you to have a faster metabolism, and you will be able to maintain your ideal body weight more easily.

Sudden Weight Loss (20 Pounds in 2 months)?
Hi guys.First of all, I'm "5'11" and I weigh 250 pounds.
Ok, here's my question. I haven't weighed myself since august, the last time I went to a doctor. When they weighed me, I found out that at the time I was 270 pounds. Tonight, I decided to weigh myself to see how much I gained/lost and it said 250 pounds. A 20 pound weight loss in two months. I'm kind of freaking out because I really haven't done anything to lose it.
Some Things to consider:
On tuesday's and thursdays I go to a community college from 9 AM to 6 PM. I do a ton of walking while I'm there, and I usually eat very little during the day. Even when I get home on those days I don't really eat much for some reason.
I don't diet, but I have been cutting back on the junk that I have been eating.
I drink a lot of soda, probably about 3-4 cans a day.
Is this weight loss warranted based off of my recent activity?

Well, if your metabolism is sort of "hyper" the walking could cause a fairly decent amount of weight-loss, now factoring that in with your rare eating habits it is no wonder that you are losing weight at that pace.If it is bothering you could try eating just a tad more so that you can maintain a healthy weight.

I started to lose weight at the end of May 2006 and by mid-September I weighed around 128 lbs, down from 161. Now I am back up to about 140; I've been under a lot of stress lately which is the main factor for the gain, and I haven't been able to exercise as much as I'd like either. I used to not eat much, but now I can hardly seem to stop. I want to start a strict, effective diet in order to lose the weight again, I'd like to be under 125 (I'm 5'4 1/2). I'm considering starting Atkins; will this be fairly quick weight loss? I need to lose some pounds soon in order to boost my self-esteem, I'm really hating myself these days. Don't do atkins, in the long run it'll cause heart damage and brain disease. Its not suprising that atkins himself died of a heart attack. If you simply need a meal plan, weight loss program go with south beach, but follow it closely. It'll jump start your metablolism, but you need to follow it and realize that you can't lose it all at once. Its about changing how you eat as well as what you eat. Its better to lose 15lb a year and keep it off than to lose 15lb in a month and have 20lb of gained weight the next month.

That is fantastic. Wow, okay so you've done little things to reward yourself. But you have lost a lot of weight. You say that you are going on a cruise soon? Why don't you go and rehaul your wardrobe? Buy at least one complete outfit for sunbathing, partying, dinner, etc. But don't do it by yourself, maybe invite a friend to go with you and definately ask a shop attendant for help (that is what they're there for). That way you can be sure that what you get shows you off to your best advantage.

I have been through it all and know what's it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can't be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I've worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.
First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can't eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising...
This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it's good for the heart.
However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It's so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I've found a great addition to help any one out, it's a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don't get all crazy on me and say diet pills don't work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn't meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It's an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace.com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it's the best pill I've tried and I've tried cupboards full. Now this doesn't mean you have to follow my foot steps but I've successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.

As a rule of thumb Im 5 ft 5 I drop a dress size every 10lbs or so. I find people comment when youve lost two dress sizes.Also its very hard to see your body changing so it is absolutely vital you measure your waist, chest etc measurements say every two weeks, then you know its changing. Keep a diary.
Exercise is the best way to make sure you lose as much of the weight from fat. That makes you look even better for every pound lost.
Addnl: Dont think it makes any difference if youre f or m, my guess to go from 36 in waist to a 34 in is 10lbs or so and I only really notice when my husband has put on a stone or so or loses it.

Sure, you could lose 2 - 3 lbs a week on this program. The critical part of the whole thing is consistency -- if you train hard every day (but don't overdo it -- overtraining can negate any progress), eat correctly (I would recommend a nutritionist if you have the money and don't want to make any mistakes), and get plenty of rest (recovery is critical to any training program, and stress doesn't help matters at all), 2 - 3 lbs is definitely possible every week.Just keep in mind that some weeks will be better than others. That is, sometimes you might lose less than 2 - 3 lbs, sometimes a bit more. (keep in mind that as you lose weight, at some point the body will start to fight you because it doesn't want to see you lose too much weight too quickly -- it's simply the body's way of protecting itself)
