Learn The Fast Way To Lose Weight

Weight Loss Plan

For a pregnant woman the desire to lose weight quickly is something that all of us at one point or another has had to deal with. While a quick weight loss plan is generally accepted when you are not pregnant, you will need to think of other ways to lose unwanted weight during this period of time of pregnancy.

You can see what sort of quick weight loss plan your doctor will be able to recommend. You should understand that by giving into this urge you are making things difficult for yourself and for the baby.

To help provide the nutritional supplements that you need your doctor should have a dietary plan made. This plan should recommend some good foods which will provide you with the nutrition that you want. The addition of gentle exercises will also help you to lose weight. You should not expect to any quick weight loss plan to work without any risks being present.

When you look over your new diet and exercise regime which is part of the postpartum quick weight loss plan that your doctor has made for you, you should ask questions about the foods which are on this list. The types of exercise that you will be doing should be looked as too especially if you are not too sure about doing them in your current state of weight.

And while you may be tempted by a great looking evening dress to lose weight quickly, you should put both the dress and temptation for a quick weight loss aside. Apart from hurting yourself at this point you will soon have a dress that you can’t wear and one which will be out of style by the time that you have managed to lose the extra pounds.

Having put the aside the idea of a quick weight loss plan you will instead find that the exercise and the proper foods on the recommend plan are giving you the chance lose weight properly. So don’t worry about various people who are criticizing you to lose weight fast.

These people will have no idea of how a quick weight loss plan will derail your getting back into shape. By taking things slow you will be in a position where you can watch what you eat so that your postpartum quick weight loss plan will come to fruition. The best part about going about your quick weight loss plan in this manner is that you will soon have the shape that you have been dreaming of.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
What is good weight loss plan for a pescetarian?
I am a pescetarian, meaning that i am a "vegitarian" who eats fish. I am looking for a weight loss plan that will help me lose some weight while still not eating any meat other than fish. If anyone has any yummy healthy low-carb recepies that would be great too!

    • ANSWER:
Great.i was a pescetarian myself some years ago..take steamed fish with oatmeal for dinner(you may season it with pepper and a drizzle of sesame oil, and do add eggplants and carrots by the side)...do stick to your regular dose of veggies n fruit...do keep a limit on soy products because too much soy raises estrogen in your blood and that will be enough to limit your body from burning excess fat..if you are a woman trying to get pregnant or simply a person who appreciates high metabolism, please take my advice seriously. Progesterone is a female hormone that exists in men too, but the testicles can convert it to testosterone.High testosterone/Progesterone levels improve metabolism and also improve the alertness of the brain..estrogen isnt like that..it is dangerous if it is in high density in your blood..and the bad news is that the strength of estrogen raises when there is too much sugar in the blood OR TOO MUCH FAT IN THE BODY. Estrogen dominance is the root of all weight loss problems...there are no foods on earth to induce progesterone, so the only way to cut down estrogen in the blood is via regular exercise. Even 20 minutes , 3 times a week of cardio workout will work wonders. If you hate sweat, then try something more internal like yoga and pilates.Sweat is external excretion. Yoga/Pilates helps the body excrete from within,so you dont sweat much, but it works!try to take home made replacements like fresh fruit juice mixed with non-fat yoghurt or muesli occasionally so you still get a good balance of amino acids.Trust me friend- There is no short cut to a better and healthier body, but hard work will pay off!

  2. QUESTION:
How should I measure myself for my weight loss plan?
I'm starting my weight loss plan and of course, I would like to know how much weight did I lose after 2 weeks and how my body changed. But I don't know what to measure(legs and arms probably) except my weight. I heard that you need to measure your neck too. Is this true and If it is, why? And when do I need to measure myself? 1 week, 2 weeks, ...? And is there anything else I need to know about measuring?

    • ANSWER:
First, you should measure whichever measurements are important to you. If you're interested in how your arms or legs change, measure them. Most measure their neck, especially in the beginning, because it is likely that's the first place fat will come off, so you'll see results more quickly in that area.

There are 3 measurements that are correlated with disease risk regarding body fat: BMI, waist circumference, and body fat %.

BMI should be between 18-29. You can calculate that here http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/

Waist circumference measured at the belly button should be below 36 for males and 32 for females.

Body fat % should be below 28% for females and below 18% for males.

You should be as consistent as possible when taking your weight measurement. Try to weigh first thing in the morning with no clothes, or the same clothes every time, after going to the bathroom but before eating.

There is a whole chapter about how body weight and body fat correlates to disease risk in the book SPEED - http://doingspeed.com/book

  3. QUESTION:
What is a balanced vegan diet plan for weight loss?
I am a female vegan, 5'7 and 135 pounds. I am not overweight, but I would like to lose about 5 pounds, maybe a little more. I need a good balanced diet plan or at least some meal suggestions. So if you have a good weight loss plan please write it in a Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack format pleeeeeease! Thank you!

    • ANSWER:
In general, you want to stay in the produce aisle. You need some grain and legume for protein but only in controlled portions.

Breakfast: Oatmeal (from the round box) with fresh fruit and some almond milk to drink is nutrient rich and satisfying for your hunger, and yummy! Add some molasses to your oatmeal if you want some extra iron.

Lunch: A huge mixed green salad with crunchy raw veggies. Try to get a variety of colors to increase nutrition. Dress your salad with olive oil and lemon juice, salt and pepper. You can prep some a grain or some pasta if you like, and dump it into your salad if you like...will make it more filling.

Dinner: How bout some rice and lentils? You can cook them in water or veggie stock. Add a fresh carrot, some cabbage or broccoli, some bay leaves, some Italian seasoning, some salt and pepper. This can be either gloppy like mac and cheese, or you can thin it out for a soup.

Snacks: fruit and veggie snacks are always okay. You can also enjoy a glass of non-dairy milk, or a cup of tea.

There are also all kind of meat substitute products. I don't know their nutrition values and calories because I don't eat them.

In my opinion, that is a tiny amount of weight. You could get rid of that weight by cutting way back on your fav junk food, or by working out a little more. You would not need to get on a very strict meal plan at all.

really good weight loss plan for a 15 year old male?
I need a good weight loss plan, I need the maximum calories i can intake and a good work out plan. I'm able to do a hard workout schdule but it must not do anything relation to a gym. Only the out doors or in my very own home.

    • ANSWER:
The first step to defeating your weight problem is to defeat laziness. Figure it out yourself. After all, I don't know your limitations, weight, ect.

  7. QUESTION:
How does this weight loss plan stack up?
Ok so I want to lose weight, plain and simple. I've done the research and I know what to do so thus, I have come up with my own weight loss plan and would like some opinions on it. Here it is:

First off, I am an 18 year old male, about 5'8" and roughly 190 lbs. I have lowered my daily calorie intake to roughly 1500 with a diet consisting mainly of salads, fruits, grilled chicken with small healthy snacks dispersed throughout the day. I would only drink water and green tea. So all in all, I would be eating every four or so hours (to keep the metabolism going).

I would also be working out every day for about an hour performing about 30 mins of eliptical aerobics and about 30 mins of a full body workout. (My goal here is to tone, not really body build.)

My only concern with my plan is the daily calorie intake. Is it too low? I figured that 1500 from food minus about 500 from working out would only give me a net of 1000, roughly. My goal is to get to 170 lbs, at least, in two months.
But the weird thing is, even though the calorie in take is pretty low, I don't feel as hungry as I thought I would be...

But ok. If I increase the daily calorie intake to 2000, roughly, would I still be losing weight and toning my body fairly well? I would like to lose at least TWO pounds a week.

    • ANSWER:
That is too low, try at least 1900, considering your weight. Also, drop the green tea, at least too often. Teas are diuretic and will not help with the eight glasses of water, you will need to increase your water consumption for each glass of tea you drink. Doesn't sound like much, but that much water is very hard to drink everyday.

  8. QUESTION:
Will coffee intefere with my weight loss plan?
I am on a weight loss plan to shed about 35 pounds this year. Will drinking a cup of coffee every day slow down my weight loss? I assume that it would be better to use low-fat and low-sugra sweeteners. Any ideas?

    • ANSWER:
the caffine will help, given you use no calorie sweetner and skim milk

  9. QUESTION:
Where can I find a good weight loss plan?
I am 19 and I am 5'5" and I am going to start on april 1 2008, and I want to go from 237 lbs to 130-135 lbs by middle of July to the beginning of August 2008, can somebody help me with finding a weight loss plan that will help with that goal.
I need somthing that I can view or do for free

    • ANSWER:
What your asking for will harm you more than do you good in the long run.

I just found out my scale is 5lbs off, so I was 251lbs, 50+ inch waist. Now I am 5'101/2" 174lbs, 33 inch waist. I did it with exercise and proper eating habits. I lost about 3 pounds a week, which is what you should do.

I once lost 60lbs in 60 days, literally. I gained it back plus some because I never learned discipline in what or how to eat along with exercising. This time I did it right and have kept the weight off for 6 years now. I lift weights every 2 or 3 days and exercise on a daily basis. I exercise this much because I like to eat some things that I probably shouldn't. If I didn't I wouldn't have to exercise so much.

It took you a while to put the weight on and it should take a while to lose it properly.

  10. QUESTION:
Been doing the O diet, want to switch to a more inclusive weight loss plan. Any suggestions?
Been doing The Blood Type O Diet . Burned out and still have weight to loose. Want to follow a non so restictive meal plan which produces weight loss. Any suggestions? Something that will not make me ballon up in pounds the minute I sniff a carb!

    • ANSWER:
wow...you're going to have to be verrrrrrrrrrrry careful here. Switching to even a low calorie diet will probably cause weight gain initially. I'd be looking at 1200 calories a day and see how your body reacts. Then, if all seems to be going well, add 100 calories a week to your diet until the balance starts to shift back to weight gain (if that doesn't happen right away). The only thing that will really help here is exercise in order to offset the effects of introducing carbs back into your diet. Hopefully you're already exercising 30 to 40 minutes a day on this low carb program. If not, strap on the running shoes or you're libel to see a rapid weight gain even on a low cal plan. Have a look at this site it might give you some ideas...good luck..

What is a good weight loss plan for a 14 year old?
i want to lose all my chub....well i m 33 inches aroud my chub and would like to go down ? suggestive numbers? any weight loss plans > i need this done by july

    • ANSWER:
I would recommend eating right and exercising more. Cardio activities make you lose weight faster.
Your diet should include lean means such as chicken, turkey or fish.
      brown rice or wheat pasta
      plenty vegetables and fruits
low fat dairy if you eat or drink dairy
make sure you drink water while working out to prevent dehydration

limit your candy and cake intake try to eat fruit instead

make sure you eat fruit in the morning, lunch and have a healthy after school snack

you should have at least 5 fruits or vegetables a day (you can fulfill your requirement by making sure you eat colorful mixture of fruits and vegetables)

blueberries, strawberries, bananas, green peppers, red peppers, yellow peppers, lettuce, broccolli, onion, etc are good examples of a mixture of fruits and vegetable

You will not see much weight loss without doing cardio exercises. So, if you think doing crunches or situps will work, you will not see much results unless you do your cardio activities as well.

      This would include:

Running, walking fast, jump rope, running on treadmill, riding a bike, martial arts, dancing, jumping jacks and sports. I recommend joining an after school activity if you can. If not, you can workout at home but you will have to do your exercises at least every other day and start out with stretching (to prevent injuries), then cardio (if you want to get rid of excess fat) and then strength training (if you want muscle).

I struggled with losing weight. When I started doing more cardio, I lost weight faster.

  17. QUESTION:
What is a good weight loss plan to lose 20 pounds by August 31st?
What are the best exercises to do to trigger this weight loss, and what are the best foods to eat?

    • ANSWER:
I have been through it all and know what's it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can't be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I've worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.

Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.

First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can't eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising...

This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it's good for the heart.

However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It's so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I've found a great addition to help any one out, it's a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don't get all crazy on me and say diet pills don't work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn't meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It's an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace.com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it's the best pill I've tried and I've tried cupboards full. Now this doesn't mean you have to follow my foot steps but I've successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.

Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.

  18. QUESTION:
What are some important components of a successful weight loss plan?
    Hello Everyone,

I would like to know what are some good ways to help people lose weight?

For instance, if you were to create a weight loss program what would be something that you would make sure to emphasis or implement?

Thanks in advance for your time.

    • ANSWER:
The most critical aspect of a weight loss program is selecting foods that are nutritionally rich and lower in calories.

I lost 80 pounds by simply changing to a low-fat whole plant based diet as described by Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, Jr. I do exercise, but I learned through experience that diet is far more important than the level of activity. That being said, I do exercise moderately for about one hour each day. Weight training is also a good way to build muscle rather than fat. The volume of tissue created with the same number of calories is seven times more for fat than muscle. I'd rather have an additional pound of muscle rather than seven pounds of fat.

I also learned that maintaining a healthy weight is a lifestyle change. You don't keep weight off by joining Weight Watchers for one year. Most victims of commercial weight loss programs learn that they cannot keep the weight off for more than about a year or two. Atkins and calorie restricted diets also do not work for the vast majority of people. (Kolata)

What is a good weight loss plan for someone that doesn't eat a lot of meat?
What diet plan works best for someone who doesn't eat a lot of meat?
I am trying to lose weight, but have very poor eating habits. I don't have the money for a nutritionist, and also have to think of my kids and what they want to eat. I don't like meat, and don't eat it very often, which leads me to believe that I may be missing some important components(protein, and others) from my diet. I do take a multi-vitamin. I would like to start this ASAP. Does anyone know any websites that would give me diet/meal plans that are both kid friendly and healthy. It seems that all we eat are chicken nuggets, fish sticks,a nd pizza!

    • ANSWER:
I am like you , in that I don't like any red meat although I will eat turkey and chicken. My diet is eating lots of salads- which are very healthy and fortifying if you use the right ingredients. My favorite is grilled chicken strips, mushrooms, tomatoes and red onions over a bed of mixed greens. All of the necessary ingredients are there. To find good kid friendly web site to help you, I suggest you simply go to Google search with you information and I'm sure you'll find something.

What is the best weight loss plan for me?
I am 5' 10" and I weigh 295. I seriously need and want to lose weight. I want to make it down to around 200-210. How can I lose it fairly fast and safely? What diet plan is better, low card or low fat?

    • ANSWER:
Good on you for coming to this decision. I hope I can help you with your situation. There are a couple of things you need to realize you before you embark on your weight loss journey.

Firstly don't think of it as a diet. In order to lose weight and keep it off you need to make a healthy lifestyle change and stick to it. There are no two ways about it.

Secondly healthy weight loss is gradual weight loss. We all want to lose weight fast but when this occurs it usually means loss of water and/or muscle. This is not good. Our body needs water and we gain it back fairly rapidly (which in turn means weight gain).

More importantly we need muscle in order to burn fat.Muscle is a very active tissue, so burns fat even while resting. You need to have a certain amount of muscle in order to burn fat efficiently. Every pound of muscle you have will burn 50 extra calories per day.

Two pounds (or 1 kilogram) of weight loss is generally considered to be healthy weight loss. There is no point in losing weight if you are not going to do it right. Otherwise you will just gain it back and then some.

There is no magic secret to weight loss. It is all about hard work, commitment, goal setting and desire. If you want to lose weight you can and you will.

This following website gives you the tools you need to develop a healthy lifestyle and maintain it for a lifetime.

Good luck and all the best with your weight loss goals

  23. QUESTION:
What is a good weight loss plan that works fast?
Ok I'm a 19 year old male, about 5' 5'' and 190 pounds. I want to lose weight even if it not really fast, but the faster the better. i have fat in my stomach, thighs, and chest. i need a list of foods to eat and foods to avoid, besides fruits and veggies which i already eat. I also need an exercise plan to go with it. I wont have a problem sticking to it either. Thanks for your help.

    • ANSWER:
Works and fast don't last. If you want to lose weight and keep it off, you have to rearrange your thought processes and be patient:

Here’s all you need to lose weight all over, look good, and get really healthy. First, you have to realize there is no quick, long lasting weight loss plan or pill that is going to do the trick. It’s purely mental. You have to learn to “Eat to live, don’t live to eat”. Sounds simple, doesn’t it? It is, if you understand that you are going to be reprogramming how you think about eating for the next few weeks. Old habits die hard, right? Not really. You get rid of bad habits by replacing them with good habits. If you learn to count your calories, keep calorie intake lower than output, exercise moderately, and eat only healthy food, you will lose weight. That’s a fact. All it takes is repetition. All success stories have this in common: The successful folks among us know how to be patient, persistent, and consistent. Set a goal, write it down, and stick with it. The benefits of feeling good will outweigh any sense of sacrifice you might feel about having to push away that cake and ice cream. 25. QUESTION:
Whats a good 3 month weight loss plan for a 14 year old?
I want to lose weight over the summer. I have been eating healthy lately so thats not an issue. I need to have an exercising plan or something. I cant run or do certain things because i have ashma( I was planning on working my way up to running eventually because i know its a really good exercise). My neighbor has a trampoline that he invites me to all the time so i can use that too. Any help?

    • ANSWER:
It kind of depends on how much weight you want to lose. You should decide on how many pounds you want to lose and then calculate how many calories a day you should try to burn and then find a routine from there.

Although you have asthma you should still try some simple aerobic exercises. Like go on a short walk everyday and then go on longer ones each day. And then move up to jogging etc.

  26. QUESTION:
I have a doctors appointment, Can I get a Weight loss Plan?
Hi, I'm a teen trying to lose weight. I'm about 85 or 90 pounds overweight. I have an appointment with my doctor on Wednesday. Can I get a weight loss plan custom made for me by my doctor? I really need a plan to lose weight and be healthy. : )

  27. QUESTION:
Do you think I am overweight? What else can i do to jump-start my weight-loss plan?
I am 25 years old and I weigh 190lbs. I just recently started doing the Tae-bo aerobics on youtube. My goal is 167lbs. Do you think I am overweight? I am doing the aerobics 5 times a week and trying to eat healthy without too much carbs. What else can I do to lose weight? Any suggestions on what I should add to my diet that would help with weight loss?

    • ANSWER:
The most effective way to lose weight is to be in a calorie deficit. So if your daily needs are 2000 calories then eat 1500 calories to lose 1lb a week.
Exercises will keep you fit and burn some calories but your food intake will definitely be more effective. Just make sure you get enough protein and Omega 3 (at least 3 grams a day).

I've added a couple of links that you might find useful.

  28. QUESTION:
Will weight lifting decrease or increase my weight loss plan?
    I weight lift 5 times a week
but I plan on dieting / doing cardio in order to lose weight. WIll the weight lifting make me gain more weight or lose weight?

    • ANSWER:
      1. Take it one step at a time

Start by paying attention to what you eat. Cut back on fat and sweets and add more fruit and vegetables. After you have that under control, add exercise. If you hate to exercise try it for only 15 minutes a day at first, then a 1/2-hour. Keep in mind that while you are exercising you are burning calories and not eating. Also, it will be easier if you chose an activity that you enjoy.

      2. Find a friend

It is always good to have support when you are trying to lose weight. Find a friend who wants to lose weight and compare notes, weigh-in together and maybe even have a contest.

      3. Use weights

Working out weights will build muscle and raise your metabolism so you will burn more calories. Also, muscle takes up less space than fat so you will be smaller ( but probably weigh more).

      4. Eat fewer carbs

Don't eat as much bread and pasta and you will see a difference.

      5. Set a goal

Set a deadline to lose the weight and write it down. For example, ' By Dec 14/04 I will weigh 150 lbs or less'. Put it somewhere you will see it daily.

      6. Give up soda

If you drink a soda or 2 a day you are adding empty calories. If you find it hard to stop
completely, cut back at first and drink water instead.

      7. Grill or boil

Avoid fried meat, grill and use lots of spices. You will get used to it and probably enjoy it more.

      8. Don't buy junk food

When you go shopping, don't go on an empty stomach and you will be less likely to buy junk food. Keep your home 'junk food free' so you won't be tempted to indulge.

      9. Eat breakfast

Consume most of your calories early in the day and always eat breakfast. Don't eat after 8pm and
not only will you avoid those added calories but you will sleep better.

      10. Give yourself a treat

When you tell yourself that you can't have something you want it more. Give yourself a treat once a day ( ie. half a cookie) and you won't feel you are missing out.

      11. Use smaller plates

Trick yourself into believing that you are eating more by using a smaller plate.

      12. Drink lots of water

Drink water when you are feeling hungry and you will get that 'full' feeling.

      13. Don't eat everything on your plate

Many times we eat just because it's there. Pay attention to when you have had enough.

      14. Eat five or six meals a day

Eating more frequently will keep you from getting too hungry.

      15. Plan your workout sessions

Write your workout sessions in your journal or planner.

      16. Stay away from fad diets

Fad diets don't work. If you lose weight fast chances are that you will gain it back ( and more)
just as fast. It takes time to put it on and time to take it off.

      17. Do several workouts a day

While you are watching TV do crunches and leg lifts.

      18. Measure your food

If you decide to have junk food for a snack - be sure to measure and control what you eat.

      19. Keep pre-cut vegetables

      ...and ward off those cravings.

      20. Create Good Habits

It is a known fact that when we do something twenty-one times it becomes a habit. Create good eating habits.

      Take care...

  29. QUESTION:
What is the best weight loss plan that you have ever been on? I?
I have about 25 lbs to lose and having hard time. I am a 41 woman and the diet and exercise route is not working as well as it once did. In particular, I have a 'spare tire' that is hard to get rid of! I am committed to healthy weight loss and don't need to lose it overnight but would love to see some movement

  31. QUESTION:
Teenager in need of a weight loss plan that gets results fast?
Hello, I am a teenager who is overweight. I need a plan to lose the weight. It cant be expensive and it needs results. Please let me know any of your ideas.

    • ANSWER:
      1. Water is vital to your health and is so important for you to drink plenty of it.
      2. Carry a pocket notebook around with you for about a week to keep track of the food you eat and the daily activities you do.
      3. Instead of eating three large meals a day, eat five or six small meals. People tend to get 30 % fewer calories this way.
      4. Walk for 30 to 45 minutes a day. If you can’t fit it all in at once, split it up in 10 to 15 minutes each session throughout the day.
      5. Get all the fat clothes out of your closet.

  32. QUESTION:
What is the best and most effective weight-loss plan? What has worked for you?
After gaining almost 60 lbs. from my last pregnancy, I REALLY need to lose the weight. I am contemplating joining weight watchers, but am not certain it is the best plan for me. I cannot afford ANY diet plan that costs money, but I am desperate. I want to learn to eat more healthy foods and change my lifestyle. I know I could do this on my own without the support of a diet plan, but I need everyone's opinion. Has anyone lost a lot of weight and how?

    • ANSWER:
At the moment, I'm on my own diet, I just picked up a lot of tips from here and there and combined them. I cut out a lot of junk food in my diet, I replaced crisps and coke with fruit/ veg and drank water instead.

I also keep a food diary which helps show me what I am eating and where I was going wrong, it's amazing when you look at what you eat over the day, you don't realize at the time that one biscuit here and there adds up.

The most important thing for me was exercise!! I started of gradually, I bought a few dvds, which you can buy cheaply on Amazon in their sales, and i also started using my treadmill which was bought and never used!! So far I have lost a stone in the past four or five months.

It's also good to lose weight with someone as it helps to motivate you, but once you start exercising and drinking between 1.5 to 2 liters of water a day, you will soon start to see the benefits. And don't be strict, allow yourself treats, once or twice a week, you wont stick to it otherwise

      Good Luck!!!!!!

  33. QUESTION:
Will eating sweets ruin a weight loss plan?
I love sweets, such as skittles and other little lollies. Currently I am on a plan to lose fat, and I run everyday.

Will eating sweets and chocolate ruin my fat loss plan?
If not, how many should I eat, and when is the best time to eat sweets?

    • ANSWER:
Eating sweets in MODERATION will not ruin a weight loss plan. All you have to do to lose weight is burn more calories than you consume. So as long as you cut back on your overall caloric intake you will be fine. You have to burn about 3500 calories to lose one pound so take this into consideration and determine if the sweets are worth it.

Sweets are rich in simple carbohydrates (sugar that is easily broken down, basically). When you eat simple carbohydrates it doesn't take long to enter your blood stream. If the sugar in your blood stream is not used it is converted into fat and stored in your body as adipose tissue. So I wouldn't recommend eating sweets before you go to bed (or even after dinner) because when you rest your metabolism slows, the sugar doesn't get used as quickly, and it is converted to fat.

      Hope this helps.

  34. QUESTION:
What weight loss plan do you follow?
What weight loss plan do you follow and has it been successful?

    • ANSWER:
Well right now I'm not dieting because I'm 33 weeks pregnant but have only managed to gain 17lbs . I stick with 5-6 healthy small meals a day and weight train / cardio 4-5 times a week.
Pre-pregnancy I was 127lbs with low b/f% and weight trained 5-6 x's a week w./ cardio . I ate VERY lean - high protein , low carb and low fat with one cheat day a week .

  35. QUESTION:
Do you have an opinion on my weight loss plan?
Ok so I went to this site that calculates your daily calorie needs. It says that to MAINTAIN in my weight (250), given that I consider myself lightly active, I should eat 3575 calories a day. Also supposedly, if you want to lose 2 pounds a week, you need to take 1000 calories less than what you need to maintain your weight.

Sooo, if I eat 2000 calories a day, I should lose a little more than two pounds a week.

My plan is to eat 2000 calories until it takes less than 3000 calories to maintain my weight. According to this calculator, that will be around 210 pounds. It says at to hundred pounds, I can eat 2860 a day to maintain. So at that weight, I am going to eat about 1860 a day (1000 less than what I need to maintain). I will do this until I reach 160. Then I should be able to maintain around 2288 but before I go back to that, I'll be eating what I need to still lose until I reach the 160. Does this make sense?
I know that 3500 isn't going to help me lose. I'm just saying that eating that supposedly will maintain my weight which is way way way to high anyway.
And I do exercise. I go to curves 3-4 times a week(actually pushing myself on the equipment). Also I try to walk twice a week.
Here's the calculator I am using.

    http://www.cancer.org/docroot/PED/content/PED_6_1x_Calorie_Calculator.asp

    • ANSWER:
      Honestly, no.
Forget the calculator stuff. Basic intake is around 2,000 cals.
Most people on a diet it around 1,600-1,800 calories. That's what you need to do.
Eating 3,575 calories a day? Not good. It's not going to help you "maintain" 250 lb, you're definetly going to GAIN weight. Unless you NORMALLY eat that much.
To cut a pound a week, it's true that you need to take 1,000 calories less. Less than what you NORMALLY eat. Track what you eat and calculate off that. I don't really trust this weight/calculator business, because in my opinion it doesn't take a lot of other major factors into account.

Want to lose weight? Simple plan. Hard work.:
      - - - - -
      - Load up on the veggies & fruits. Lowest calorie plan out there, totally natural. Find your favorites - I like mangoes & strawberries, I can a whole box in a sec!
      - Cut the junk food. No sodas, my dear. No candy. I guess it's ok to indulge, but not daily. Try to find substitutes, or balance it out [like chocolate-dipped strawberries].
      - Lots of water & sleep. Water flushes out toxins, keeps you healthy, and increases metabolic rate. Sleep - can we ever get enough? Like a cute saying I heard the other day, you can buy all the diet pills and organic food you want, but water is cheap and sleep is free.
      - Careful of what you snack on! A bite of your friend's cookie, a swig of Coke from your co-worker, a couple fries from your sister's McDonald's bag can all add up to 700 cals a day.
      - Exercise. Yes. You have to. Dieting is fun and all that [yeah right] but exercise helps you get there a lot faster and STAY there. You CAN indulge in that occasional Snickers if you exercise. Yoga, running up stairs, fitness tapes, jumping rope, gardening, kickboxing, swimming, lacrosse, basketball, tennis, cardio dance, millions of jumping jacks - whatever works for YOU.

You've heard this all before, right? Because it's what WORKS. It takes intense determination, and may need some restarting over and over. I know. I'm on day two of my millionth diet plan and just dug into some peanut butter. But hey! I did cardio dance today.

  37. QUESTION:
how to make your own weight loss plan for a teen?
    i'm 14 years old
    5'4'' tall
    180 lbs.
i want to weigh around 120-130
how do i make a weight loss plan that will work well resulting in me weighing about 120 by december of 2009?
any suggestions or plans are welcomed and very helpful
    thanks

    • ANSWER:
      I'm in the same boat.
      I'm 16 and weigh 180.
      My new years resolution
      (starting tomorrow though)
is to loose weight and be 120-130

I am going to eat less and watch what I eat...
Kick out all soda and anything else and start drinking tea and water and those crystal light 5 calorie things, if you dont like drinking water... some people don't like my little brother.

Eat more fruit and veggies, try to stay away from a lot of carbs like breads. Try to switch to wheat bread instead of white.

Another thing is to keep a book of what you eat and use
mypyramid.com to calculate your calorie intake, making sure it's in the right place not too high or too low.

Eating breakfast is another thing, I NEVER used to eat braekfast, but if you do it raises your motablism and you burn fat more.

Work out at least 30 minutes a day, you can break it up into two 15 minute sessions or whatever you'd like.

Try to get friends or family into helping you as well. My mom helps me out by ketching me when I try to cheat, ha. Or I go on walks with my friends.. anything to stay active. Get invloved in a sport.

Last but not least weight lifting!!! It's pretty easy to do and the more muscle you build the more you burn IN YOUR SLEEP! =D

If all else fails, you can always do what I do as a fall back plan, Slim fast, it's really simple shakes and bars and it even suggests things on the packages!

    • ANSWER:
There is nothing more frustrating than not achieving the goals you set for yourself. No matter if we talk about sports achievements, professional achievements or a weight loss program. Therefore, while setting the goals for yourself, you must be realistic, and take all circumstances into account. On the other hand, you should not be too conservative, because this will only slow your progress in achieving success at fat loss.

So how will you set a realistic goals? Well, we'll start with eating an elephant! What? Eating and elephant? How? Why?! Good question: how? How would you eat an elephant? You can't eat it at once, right? You can't just swallow it, right? You can eat it as you normally eat a steak - piece by piece. Bite size pieces, I mean. And it's exactly the same when it comes to your goals. You can achieve great success at fat loss, step by step, and not trying to make too big steps at a time.

You already know that healthy eating habits are essential for success at fat loss. On the other hand, it takes time to form a habit, so why not start now with the first step: breakfast. Get up early enough to have enough time to eat your breakfast in an enjoyable way, without hurry and stress. Just make this one commitment and stick to it for one week, then for another, and still another... This is a baby step, it's manageable, it's realistic. The next step would be planning the times of your meals during the day to fit your working routine.

Your main goal is to lose that ugly fat, and get back to your lean, trim and fit body. Well, this is hell of an elephant, especially when you have also gathered pretty much fat around your belly. Again, we are going to eat this elephant piece by piece. The first step here is to find any old clothes that fit you when you bought them, but "shrunk" a bit (due to extensive washing?) over time. Find those jeans you bought a year or two ago, which are now a bit too tight. Try to put that piece of clothing on. Too tight, right? Oh, you can't even button it up... Hm... OK. Make this your first goal - lose enough fat to be able to wear those jeans again. If you don't have such old clothes at home, go to the nearest shop and ask the shop assistant to show you something one size smaller than you are. Try this on. Now make losing this one size your goal. Set the deadline of course. One month to start with? And when you reach this goal, make another smaller size your next one.

The same concerns physical activity. If you haven't been active physically for a longer time, you cannot expect being able to do all the exercises correctly at the first time. You must accept your being slower, less flexible, and less enduring than you might wish to be. Participating in every training will change that for the better, and your bite-size goal may be just participation in the next training. With time, you won't even want to miss one. If you took up jogging, start with even with 10-15 minutes with strong commitment to add another 5 minutes every week.

As you can see, you can divide a big task of losing excess fat into small steps, small goals that you can achieve on your way to success at fat loss. This concerns all aspects of fat loss, not only your eating habits and physical activity, but also learning the basics of good nutrition, keeping a regular journal, and doing it all systematically.

Also never forget two important truths: you are not in this world to prove anything to anybody, and losing weight and fat is not a race. It means, that your bite-size pieces of your goal elephant can be as small as you wish, and you can take as much time to process them as you need. Loosing fat that you've been building around your belly for years requires time, so give yourself that time. Decide that you want to lose fat, show yourself how much you want to lose as your first step, and do the step. Then take another step, and another. But DO take those steps.

Remember, you've been putting on weight for years, and you can't get rid of it in days. Accept the fact that you will need long weeks to get rid of your body fat in a healthy way. Let me repeat IN A HEALTHY WAY. And effective at the same time. So don't rush it. You want to be slim and trim and fit, and you can achieve it only in a step by step process.

  39. QUESTION:
What is the best weight loss plan you have found that really worked for you?
Me and my hubby are trying to concieve, but I've been told that this probably wont happen unless I lose at least 50 pounds. (told by a doctor not my hubby) My weight is causing an insulin problem which does not allow ovulation. I have started by getting rid of all caffine drinks, and cutting out the sweets. I'm filling my body with plenty of water and walking 20 minutes a day. I know its just a start and will take some time, but does anyone know any good, healthy ways to diet and exercise without hurting your body?

    • ANSWER:
Weight watchers is a great program for weight loss. It really works if you stick with it. And starting out walking 20 minutes a day is awesome, but you'll have to ramp it up to lose the weight. Find a Jazzercise class in your area. Me and my friends swear by it. Go and have fun and don't give up, it gets easier the more you do it. There is a woman in my class that has lost 80 pounds with the WW/Jazzercise combo. And I'm working on it, I feel better than I have in my whole life! Good luck!

  40. QUESTION:
Will this weight loss plan work for a obese teenage girl?
I need to lose 45lbs in 4 months. I just started eating a healthy diet containing lots of vegetables and taking Phendimetrazine I am also starting to train in boxing very soon (which will be 4xs a week) and I drink plenty of water and I am also 60lbs overweight. Do you think that this plan will help me drop 45 lbs in 4 months and if not how much weight do you think I will lose?

    • ANSWER:
I think you may lose weight but there are side effects to taking drugs. Why don't you try something natural? I can recommend something natural and it doesn't cost a lot of money either, but is working very well for me. It is blackstrap molasses, and you can buy it at a health food store (regular molasses is not the same). It is .69 for a one-quart bottle and that should last a whole month if you use 2 tablespoons per day. The only thing about it is that the flavor is quite strong, kind of a bitter taste, but it is the minerals in it. I have lost 3 pounds in 4 days and often forget to eat. I didn't eat breakfast today and had a fresh veggie salad with plain yogurt and herbs for the dressing around 1 p.m. I no longer crave bread or sweets like before either. Do a little research for yourself and check it out.

Stay away from treats, junk food, pop and make sure not to over eat. Eat a light breakfast (like 1 piece of toast) maybe a light lunch (I sometimes skip it) and a nice sized dinner. If you get hungry during the day, eat some unsalted peanuts or fruit. Drink lots of water to help fill those food cravings and chewing gum helps a bit too.

If you run for an hour a day and eat what I suggested above, you'll lose about 10 pounds in a month. That is, if you really stay true to it. You have to work hard, not eat those foods and not give yourself any exceptions.

A trick I do not to eat too much when dinner comes around (if I'm really hungry around then) is to drink a glass of milk before eating. It'll help fill you so you don't eat as much as you normally would have.

Lifting weights would help too in addition to the hour running everyday. Buy (or if you go to the gym, use) some free weights that you're comfortable with and lift them until it gets a bit hard for you to do so, then stop for the day. Go slow and once those are easy for you to lift, go to a heavier weight.

I lost 20 pounds in 2 months doing this, so it really does work! You just have to discipline yourself. You have to really want to lose weight.

      Hope this helped, good luck!

  46. QUESTION:
Best weight loss plan for a 15 year old girl?
I am a 15 year old, height is 5 feet 1 inch, and weight is around 135 pounds. Using a calorie calculator I found out how many calories I would eat everyday to maintain my weight, and it said about 1869 calories. I am aiming to lose 20 pounds, and the calorie calculator suggested decreasing my calorie intake by about 500 calories, but I still need some tips. Could anyone suggest a healthy calorie intake, and along with that, a plan for the day specifying how many calories to take when?

    • ANSWER:
I think 20 lbs is too much and at your age, you are still growing, so that's not a good idea. However, there is NOTHING wrong with getting in shape and being fit and healthy! But muscle weighs more than fat so you could be 135 lbs and chubby and you could be 140 lbs and a tiny, lean, figure skater. Muscle weighs more. So rather than focusing on your weight, get out measuring tape and measure your waist! A realistic goal is 24 inches, which is basically a size 8 in England, and size 4 in the U.S, and is such a size that looks really fit and means you have a slim waist without being like, emaciated.

Don't use a calorie calculator, they won't tell you anything. First off you burn like 1400 calories a day just by living, and that's even if you didn't get out of bed all day. So an average day you burn like 1800 and then thirty mins exercise and it is reaching 2000 calories. So just eat healthily and in good proportions (you should eat the same about of veggies as you do carbohydrates, and then a little bit of protein), when you are full, STOP EATING. Drink water, and NOTHING ELSE. No fizzy drinks, they are terrible, and water flushes out your toxins! Apart from that, eat in moderation, so Macdonalds no more than once a month, and only a little bit of chocolate a few times a week.

all of them are amazing. especially the first one. phew, you will feel the burn!
Last tip: go on runs. Grab a friend, throw on your sneakers and some terry cloth shorts and hit the road. Its amazing.

    and is my goal reasonable?

If you click on the Body Image link you can see my current pictures, for an hour ago.

So will my weight loss plan bring me to my goal and is my goal reasonable?

    • ANSWER:
      Your goal is reasonable.
You'll need to be thinking just as much about your diet as your exercise plan. But it's all sounding pretty good.
When you get cravings for something sweet have some fruit and yogurt, because that's healthy, sweet and way better for your body than a chocolate bar.

  48. QUESTION:
What is the best weight loss plan?
I'm 5'9 and about 160 pounds, it has finally dawned on me that I really need to start losing weight. What's a good daily plan I can stick to?

    • ANSWER:
The most commonly known weight loss programs available in America include Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, eDiets and Nutrisystem. However they are not always the same. Some programs such as Weight Watchers may ask you to visit their centers for regular meetings, while others such as Nutrisystem encourage you to work on losing weight at the comfort of your home. Some may promise a fast weight loss while other focus on setting a realistic weight loss goal.

Some important questions you must ask before choosing a weight loss program:

      * How much weight do you wish to lose? Setting a realistic goal is very important to keep you motivated!!! To lose 1 lb to 2 lb a week is more realistic than trying to lose 40 lb in a month!!!
      * How much support will you receive from the program? any online weight loss classes? online personal weight loss counseling? support groups? chat rooms? etc
      * What is the Total cost for the program? Will you have to pay extra on top of what you have paid? Does the total cost include foods?
      * Will they consider your lifestyle before making a diet plan for you? Or do they simply restrict your normal eating habit so that it's tough to follow through? Is the program able to personalize your likes and dislikes?
      * What kind of maintenance program is provided and at what cost? Find out what the maintenance program consists of, how long it lasts, and what you must do. Remember that the longer the program focuses on helping you change your eating and exercise patterns, the greater the chances of long-term success.
      * What is the refund policy? If you are not happy, you should have every right to quit the program and receive your money back.
