Many people are searching for superior weight loss supplements for men. The great news is that with help from the best diet pills and a good diet and exercise, you can look forward to getting a well shaped and healthy body in faster time than you imagine.
When looking for a man's weight loss supplement, the biggest challenge is to find the right one among the vast array of options that are available. In the rest of the article, you'll find a list of the best diet pills you can purchase now, along with an explanation of why they are so effective. Therefore, when we're finished, you'll know what to look for when trying to find the right weight loss supplement for you.
Thermogenic Fat Burners - What They Are
There are three main types of diet pills for men available in shops and pharmacies today. Type #1 is what is referred to as Thermogenic Fat Burners. The way these work is by boosting the metabolism of a men's body. This the process by which the body breaks down the food you eat into energy. You will burn more fat and calories as your body does this faster. Due to this, the supplements are generally known as "fat burners". Caffeine and other types of stimulants are included in fat burner pills. This maintains a high level of metabolism and oxidizes additional fat molecules.
The Advantages to Men of Utilizing Thermogenic Fat Burners
This is a great option in combination with weight training to sculpt and tone muscles while losing weight. A popular fat burner pill is the Hydroxycut Hardcore X product by Muscle Tech. Do see your physician before taking this, since the FDA has issued some warnings regarding the product. For a more natural alternative, consider green tea metabolism booster pills. Green tea has been drank for centuries in China and Japan. In this concentrated form meant for weight loss users, it contains powerful metabolism boosting effects along with other health benefits like improving mental alertness and lowering cholesterol levels.
Diet Pill Appetite Suppressants
Appetite suppressants are a top subject of weight loss supplements for men. As the name conveys, they work by suppressing a person's appetite. You feel like you are full, and hence take in less food and calories.
Besides prescription strength appetite suppressants, there are a number of milder forms of appetite suppressant diet pills available over the counter. The top names include Liporexall and Hoodia Gordonii. Hoodia is a cactus plant from South Africa. It has become very popular in the last few years, and some men have gotten really good results from it. The challenge with buying Hoodia pills is that some of the products sold may not contain real Hoodia, just pills marketed as Hoodia to ride the market demand.
When shopping for the best weight loss supplements for men, consider the top categories like thermogenic fat burners and appetite suppressants. As mentioned in the case with Hoodia, some of the supplements marketed may be suspect. That's why it is important to exercise care as you read through the websites. Make sure to check the legitimacy of the manufacturer and go through a few weight loss pills reviews to find the right one.

QUESTION:
what would be good supplements for weight loss and lean muscle build on top of an intense workout?
Im just looking for something extra for my workouts. Ive heard good things about no xplode for pre workout but i am also trying to loose weight while adding lean muscle. im 6'2'' 260. I played college football as a lineman. i know what im doing in the weight room but now i dont need to be that big but i want to stay strong-
ANSWER:
Try ZMA (Zinc monomethionine aspartate). If you workout on a regular basis, take these before bed. They really boost your testosterone levels... really! And it's easier to build lean muscle. You will notice some things right away like increased semen, increased body hair, etc.
Don't take this stuff if you are on any kind of rx meds such as anti-depressants, etc. They have valerian root to help you sleep and interferes with meds... but that's about it.

QUESTION:
WEIGHT LOSS - your top ten MUST / MUST NOT do??
There are a million suggestions and theories on losing weight (beyond the generic "eat sensibly & exercise"). But what techniques or practices do you find that really help (or hinders) your weight loss? Is water really important? Not eating after a certain time in the p.m? Cutting out sodas? Even diet? A certain type of cardio - or minimum amount weekly? I realize everything in moderation, everyone is different and there are no hard / fast rules to follow... just looking for guidelines and what has really worked for others. I also have virtually no thyroid function, take supplements to replace. Looking to lose about 20, I'm in my 30's and in average shape... Ok, answer away!! Thanks!-
ANSWER:
here's my top six:1) UNDERSTAD WEIGHT LOSS - the basic premise of weight loss is rediculously simple. its the first law of thermodynamics and states that in order to loss weight you must be expending more calories than you are taking in. so, while eating healthy is very good for your overall health, what you really need to concentrate on is your caloric intake per day. a number in btwn 1400-1800calories a is what it takes for women to lose weight. as long as you accomodate that peice of chocolate or soda within your daily caloric range its ok to have it. switching to diet soda is a great way to save your calories for a more nutritious food though!
2) MEAL TIMING AND FREQUENCY - this includes snack at night. as long as everything fits in your caloric budget you can eat it whenever in the day or night you want. the problem with eating food 1 hour or two before bed is that when you sleep your body doesn't need very many calories so if you've just eating a huge whatever before bedtime most of those calories will be stored as body fat rather than being used up from activity as they would be during the day time. its a good idea to eat every 2-3 hours rather than your 3 square meals a day. this provides your body with constant energy and reduces the likelihood of food being stored as excess body fat.
3)DON'T GET ALL TIED UP WITH FAD DIETING!! - fad diets aren't designed for permanent life long weight loss and or maintainence. they are only designed for the short term and so that you see fast results. the problem is that most of them operate by cutting out entire food groups! this is not healthy! your body MUST have carbohydrates, your body MUST have healthy fats and you body MUST have lean protein sources. when you've struck a balance with these things, it is then that you will truly feel satiated.
4) KNOW YOUR MACRONUTRIENT BALANCE - you should be getting 50% of your daily calories from whole grain carbs, fruits and veggies, 30% of your daily calories from lean proteins(chicken, fish, low fat dairy) and 20% from healthy fats (olive oil, raw nuts, organic nut butter, flaxseed, avacado).
5) DO NOT LIVE YOUR LIFE AS A CARDIO QUEEN - i see so many people spend hours and hours at the gym on the cardio equipment but NEVER touch the weights. this is mostly women because they are afraid of "bulking up." this is a myth...women just don't get that big and when you look at the body builders that do its because they can lift 30 times more weight than the average person could. the truth of the matter is that weight training is very important especially for the woman/man over the age of 25. after this age we naturally lose lean muscle mass each year which is just replaced by ugly, lumpy FAT. this is also why our metabolism slows down. muscle tissue is very active tissue and is what keeps your metabolism burning hot not just when you are exercising but also when you are at rest! so it is important to regain this lost muscle mass and to maintain it as you get older.
6) KEEP A FOOD/EXERCISE JOURNAL - here is where you'll be keeping track of what you eat, what your goals are, your weight/ measurements and what exercise you do so you can see what is working for you and what isn't. it will help hold you accountable for your actions and help to focus on your goal. its very important to be honest when making your recordings so that you have a reliable way of being able to look back at it and know what was working and what may have been the cause of your weight loss plateau.

QUESTION:
what are the top good muscle supplements you would recommend (pls read)?
i just lost 125lbs. and i still have about 40 more pounds to go but i noticed that if you build muscle it will help you burn fat. also i was looking to gain more muscle for summer. but i dont want to get big i just want to get cut/ripped like ryan reynolds or ryan mcarthy in "Never Back Down" not arnold swartzinegger i want to have nice ripped muscles not huge steriod muscles. im already taking a weight loss supplement called Lipofuze that works amazing but now i need something to help gain muscle from all this weight loss. thanx and look forward to your responses.-
ANSWER:
First thing you need to do (if you are not already doing it) is add some strenght training to your exercise program. You cannot build muscle without exercise. Start with light weights and 15-20 reps.per set. After about 2 weeks, as you build muscle, advance to medium weights and 8-12 reps per set. Stay at this level. It's ideal for adding muscle mass as well as burning fat, without getting huge "like Arnold"
As far as supplements, I would recommend adding some whey protein, to be used after each strenght training session, and nothing else. You can pick up 2 lbs of whey at your local Wal Mart for about for 2 pounds, which is 20-24 servings.
Hope this helps and keep up the great work!!!

ANSWER:
ok I didn't read all that you wrote but there is no direct link between hair loss and diet if you had a healthy diet ie exercising and eating well.
If you been starving yourself and eating only poultry it's normal that your body lacking vitamins make you have hair loss. Go get some vitamins at pharmacy, there are special ones for hair nutriments and watch you are eating, don't cut on the red meat, fish, veggies, eggs.
Oh and I frogot to add that at 26 it's normal to be losing hair already

QUESTION:
Rapid, healthy weight loss?
Since i was a kid, I've had problems with slow metabolism and my body fat percentage, never overweight but never exactly skinny. Recently however, after taking the better part of a year off from fighting to recovery from injuries, I discovered that my weight (which i rarely check when i'm not registered for a fight) has gone from my average 180 all the way to a top of 206! At the moment I've managed to get back down to 200, but by my plan, I need to lose ten pounds a month to make weight for a fight in august. I swim 3 days a week, run the 4 off days, hit a punching bag 7 days a week and do 2 hours of grappling training every saturday, in addition to watching my diet.
I'm finally giving in and opening myself to the idea of using a weight loss supplement. Can anyone recommend any good ones for me from the info I've given?
I'm 6' even and my normal walking around weight in the past has ranged from 176-182 but never gone above 185, and I've competed in MMA bouts at 185, 170 and 155. my next bout is in august at 155, thus my dilemma.-

QUESTION:
Does anyone have any weight loss tips? Any tips on the Alli pill?
I'm sick of not being comfortable enough to wear shorts and a tank top out of my house! I wanna lose weight for myself, nobody else. For just over a month I've been eating my right amount of calories based on my bmi, and I excersize regularly. I haven't lost any weight. I kind of want to try a supplement like the alli pill. I was wondering if anyone could tell me about it, or give me any tips on losing weight.-
ANSWER:
I am not a fan of diet pills at all.
That being said you are smart enough to at least consider Alli. The only FDA approved diet supplement on the market.
Losing weight is 80% diet. You just can't lose weight starving or eating a fad diet.
If you couple a healthy diet with Alli you will lose weight. Be advised Alli causes sudden and oily stools so you will need to adjust to it. The less fat you eat, the less the side effects. It is a good training tool that way.

QUESTION:
What are some inexpensive ways to lose weight?
I'm 21 years old, and when I was pregnant with my son I gained a little over 90 lbs. This was 2 years ago, and I'm still really struggling to lose the weight. My weight will fluctuate up or down about 10 lbs. at a time, but it always settles back in the same range of where I'm at.Everyone I've asked always just says "eat healthier, join a gym, and buy weight loss supplements"...but this advice does me no good. My situation is more complicated than that.
I left my son's father about 8 months ago because he was abusive. As of yet, he's not making his child support payments, which leaves both my son and I a budget of about 0 a month to live off of. After bills are paid, I'm left with about of spending money for the month. Add in the cost of diapers, and I've got about to left to spend.
I live in a very small town, and the only gym in town has a monthly fee, so that's not an option. I can't afford to buy a stroller, so taking my son for runs or long walks is out. I can't afford exercise equipment for at home, and I definitely can't afford to join a program like Weight Watchers or South Beach Diet. Expensive bottles of pills are also not a luxury that I can afford.
On top of all of that, healthy foods here in small town Minnesota are very expensive. Fresh fruits and vegetables are insanely costly, and even simple switches from store brand white bread (89 cents) to whole grain wheat bread (.49) really add up and become very hard on my budget.
What's a girl to do?

QUESTION:
Weight Loss Question-Thank You?
Hello. Thank you for answering my question. As a single mom and an effort to speed up my weight loss. I started walking. I walk 40 min every lunch. Speed walking and after work i walk for two hours with weights.
I have weights in my ankles
my wrists
my upper arms and a slimming waist belt.
My question is I have been drinking nothing but water (10 glasses a day)
except if its fresh juice, eating very healthy (1000 calories a day)
no meat (watching what I eat and my calories) I enjoyed top's program at work too.
So sorry my question is i have been doing this for a week and everyday when i finish my body hurts so i make sure to get plenty of rest. I warm up before I exercise. I also do five to ten minutes of jump rope, push ups, and thigh exercise. I am trying to do this for the month of December. I am 5 3 and weight 155. how much pounds do you think i can lose in one month? I take supplements/vitemans also.-
ANSWER:
Worrying about the number of pounds you can lose a month is a sure-fire way to sabotage a fitness plan. What does it matter if it takes six months, or even a year to reach your goal? You've got the rest of your life to enjoy it!Does your body hurt in a "good" way? Be sure that this is just fatigue, and not you injuring yourself from overexertion.
Your water consumption is right on. Keep that up. We're a chronically dehydrated people.
If your calorie intake isn't leaving you hungry, stick to that. If you insist on counting calories, you could add another 200 a day and still continue to lose weight. As long as you eat less and exercise more, you need not count calories.
It sounds like a good plan for you. Just remember: it's not a contest. There's no prize for the quickest weight loss.

QUESTION:
Products to boost metabolism, heighten energy and assist weight loss + L-carnitine?
I have researched proven supplements and remember from my previous fitness days that L-Carnitine was a supplement that I was told to look out for. I now want to find a product (shake or pills) that will boost my metabolism, give me lots of energy, help in my weight loss and contains L-Carnitine.
I am a teacher and work ridiculous hours, so need the energy boost now I have joined a gym again. I have an extremely low metabolic rate and I need to decrease my body fat % quickly, as was told that it is currently 5% above the top suitable % for my age and height.Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
-
ANSWER:
A higher metabolism is associated with a shorter life expectancy. If your metabolism is low because of yo-yo dieting, that may be a blessing in disguise.I tried exercise, but despite an hour a day of aerobic exercise 5 times a week, I became a very fit fat person without losing a pound. My appetite followed my activity level. I studied five NIH grant funded nutritionists who are not associated with industry funding. They all recommended a pure plant based diet and it worked for me. lost 80 pounds and have kept it off.
The best writer on this topic is Dr. Joel Fuhrman. I verified his research and found him to be exceptional. The consensus reality in Western culture about weight and dieting is just plain wrong.
Don't try to boost your metabolism, just eat right and avoid processed foods. Whole plant based foods is the answer.

QUESTION:
I want to get my body into top notch shape, but I'm not sure where to start!! Can anyone help?
So I'm 19 and I'm slightly overweight. I've tried multiple fad diets and different weightloss pills to try to get my body healthy and toned the way I'd like, but in the end it hardly makes a difference. I want to find a strict diet to stick to, as well as an exercise plan but in all honesty, I don't know where to start! Should I buy a weight loss supplement in addition to healthier eating and exercise? I'm about 5'3 and 140 pounds. My target goal would be about 120, and I'm really hoping to lose that within the next month and a half or so! Unfortunately I have love handles and I'm a little heavy around my thighs, so those would preferably be my main weight-loss target/toning spots. Any ideas what exercises could be productive for that? Any help will be appreciated more than you know
-
ANSWER:
First, the main thing to understand. You only train what you want to get bigger. You leave alone things you want to get smaller. You can never target an area for weight-loss. It is completely 100% genetic and there is nothing you can do to change your fat distribution. Situps will only make your belly bigger. Side dumbbell raises make your love handles bigger. Until the fat is gone, the muscle you end up building will just push out the fat more, making it look worse.
Next thing...forget about weight. You're worried about fat, and body fat percentage is what you're looking to change. Get an electronic scale or a pair of calipers to measure that.
The only thing you would need for pure fat loss is cardio. Start with 30 minutes on the treadmill 3-4 times a week, and work your way up.

QUESTION:
Calorie intake problems with weight loss?! (I am a male too NOT A female!)?
Hello guys! I am running into a little bit of trouble with my weight loss program. I know this is a question that mostly only females asks, and I feel kind of awkward asking this, but I am going to ask anyways, so I please ask for the best of your help. I have been making a major lifestyle change over the past 9 months and I have went from being ~185 pounds and have know become around ~138 pounds. I am striving very hard for the last of my efforts to get rid of the last of my stomach fat but have been having a very hard time achieving that lately. A little background about myself is that I am currently 15, and have been moderately active during the school year, but it has slowed down a little because of summer break and sports at school stopping. I usually worked out once a week during the school year, and now that summer is starting, I plan on working out about 3 times a week at the gym. I also use the dietary supplement CLA to aid in my weight loss along with all my hard efforts. Back to the main problem though, I believe that I may be eating way to little calories and causing to 1) do harm to my body and 2) slow down my weight loss. I on average consume around 1,000 to 1,500 calories and 1,500 being my highest. However throughout the week, I will sometimes have 1 or 2 days where I eat around 1,800-2,000 calories, and I feel terrible after that and feel like I have caused weight gain on myself. Know, after doing numerous research, I have convinced myself, but I am not sure if it is true or not, but have put myself in starvation mode and have stopped myself from losing weight. Also, I do not know if I am taking in way to little calories or if I am about right to lose weight. I think that at 1,500 I am eating my tops for the day to lose weight. Thank YOU SO MUCH for helping me out especially for a guy who doesnt really feel comfortable talking about something that usually only women do! I have put a lot of effort to get this question right, I would like to ask for the same amount of effort back in your answers. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, and I will respond very fast. ONCE AGAIN THANKS!!
I also make sure I usually have the same breakfast everyday which is Kashi Hot Cereal, and sometimes some plan yogurt with some preserves depending on how hungry I am, and then for Lunch, I will usually have an orowheat sandwich thin with some oscar mayer deli fresh meat and a small cup of jello. For dinner, I usually have the fairly healthy cooking that I have my parents make, and lastly for my snacks throughout the day, I may sometimes have a bag of baked lays chips and the later on a few cookies or a little sweet cereal. I also always have 8 cups of water a day and if not more. ONCE AGAIN THANKS A MILLION!!
Ok, I like your answer a lot, but am i also already in starvation mode? It also looks like you saying I am going to need to work out a lot more then too. Also what happens if I just keep eating around 1500 max a day?
And if I start eating those 1500 or more calories a day, am I going to start to gain weight too?-

first of all congratulations on getting this far! as your body loses weight, it gets harder and harder to come off. you are going to have to work harder. i think its a great idea to start working out 3 times a week, it will kick your metabolism into gear and help the weight come off. when you hit another wall, try doing cardio twice a week, and weight lifting 3 times a week, or something like that to switch it up and keep your body guessing.but onto the calories! you are definitely not eating enough. males need AT LEAST 1500 calories a day just for a normal day. thats without working out or anything. my advice to you is to go online and look up a daily calorie intake calculator, take time to find a good one where you enter your age, height, weight, etc etc. it will tell you how many calories you need to sustain the weight you are at right now. to lose weight, cut 500 calories off that number, and that is what you should be eating. 500 calories times 7 days a week is 3500 calories, which is equal to losing 1 pound. if you want to lose more, cut more, but there is a certain point where you cant take off too many calories or you will go into starvation mode. another thing you can do is look up the calorie intake for your goal weight, and eat that many calories.
here is a good website. http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm enter your info, and in the drop down menu for exercise level, choose basal metabolic rate. it tells you what you need to sustain, lose, and REALLY lose. good luck!!

QUESTION:
Need help for healthy weight-loss.?
I'm 25 , 5'7", 160-164 lbs, and pear shaped (smaller on top, small bust, fuller hips, butt & legs). I lost 20 lbs late last year and have maintained this new weight for about 6 months but I've got several reasons for wanting to lose more weight...I obviously want to get healthier and be fit, I'm going to the beach in late May, I'm in a wedding in June AND...my husband and I want to start trying to have a baby later this year. So, I really want to lose around 25 lbs. But, that number isn't as important to me as losing the inches. I want to tone my upper body and need to figure out how to lose mega inches in my hips, butt & thighs. I just bought a gym membership and my plan is to spend 1 hour there 3 days a week...20-40 minutes on the eliptical and/or bike and the remainder of the time using the weight machines. Will that be sufficient or should I do a different routine? Also, I know I have a relatively slow metabolism, are there any safe supplements I should look into?
Oh...I lost the 20 lbs by changing my eating habits. Cooking more from scratch, substituting ingredients with lower fat/lower calorie things when possible, cutting back on soda (just can't seem to let it go completely), lower calorie snacks, eating smaller portions, etc.-
ANSWER:
Going to the gym is a good start. But you should watch in what order you do your workout. If you want to build muscle mass (which you do, even though youre female, i'll explain why in a minute), and lose fat, you should only do about 5-8 minutes of cardio prior to your workout, then hit the weights for however long your routine is, and then spend another half hour on cardio. You don't want to burn out on cardio before you lift. You should also try to build some muscle mass (this may make your weight stay the same, but you'll notice the difference visually). The reason for this is because the more muscle mass your body has on it, the more calories your body burns, even at rest. And you don't have to worry about looking all muscular and stuff right away, it really doesn't happen like that, bodybuilders and powerlifters have to work months and years to get their physique like that. So just beginning with light weights is a good start.
There are plenty of safe supplements out there as well for boosting your metabolism, but I wouldn't take that route unless it was your last alternative. CLA is actually really awesome, it's all natural too. You can read about it if u want, i linked it in my sources.
And remember, when youre trying to lose weight in your midsection, to avoid weighted exercises and a lot of the side bends, and twisting exercises will actually increase your waist size, because rather than toning your obliques, you will build them up. To work your obliques you should to crunches with your feet crossed and off the ground, going up to alternating sides, and also reverse crunches are great. Lift your legs into the air straight up, and then pick our butt up off the ground.
Don't forget, if you start a workout routine, you will also need to change what you put in your body. If you are feeling a lot of stress and soreness in your muscles, you're not getting enough protein. And also watch where your carbs come from. Avoid bread carbs, and try and get them from a healthier source, such as broccoli, cauliflower, or even rice.
I hope this helps some, if you have any questions feel free to email me.

QUESTION:
How to lose a potbelly PRONTO?!?
Okay, so I'm a 12 year old girl, the last time I was at the doc I was "4'11" but I measured myself and I think that I grew an inch... I measure 33-29-35 (or 36) and I have a GIGANTIC, 33 INCH WAIST (belly button). Which is ironic because my friends chests are twice my size, yet their waists HALF my size and they eat junk like pizza, cookies, and ice cream while I haven't had anything like that in years. MY idea of bingeing is eating a skinny cow low-fat ice cream bar. I like my legs and arms but I HATE my potbelly, muffin top and love handles! My mother said my older siblings (who are VERY lean) were the same way when they were my age but I don't believe her because I have seen pictures and they still looked very skinny. I have seen mothers in their 40's who had better bodies than me. Please help me. I'd like to AT LEAST get my waist (belly button measurement) down to 25 inches, if not less. My mother does not support weight loss so don't recommend any crazy weight loss supplements.-

I graduate high-school in approximately 40 days I should have the program here in about 4 days and I weigh about 220 and I'm 5'11" I'm not all fat I am a boxer and I have good muscle on my arms, shoulders, and legs. I got done with all my credits so I'm home all day and I was thinking of doing the workouts twice in a day to get maximum loss. I used to go to the gym with my old history teacher who used to be a body builder and I gained a few pounds from that but I never let fat, so if I use P90X and the workouts my teacher taught me at the gym on top of cardio how much could I loose and would I be doing more harm than good? How much would I loose using just the regular program with diet?P.S.

ANSWER:
It's important to think of setting goals and getting to where you are healthy and not to focus on a number.Think of it like this:
If you are filling a swimming pool with a leak or trying to heat your house, if the in flow is greater than the outflow there will be a gain.It works for you body. You take in food (calorie is a measure of energy) and you exercise (burn or use up calories to do work/exercise). If you eat a lot you need to move your body a lot.
A lean healthy body with a lot of muscle will burn more calories that a body with a high BMI (body mass index).
Some foods have more calories per ounce (junk food).

QUESTION:
Is this helpful at all ? ?!! ( for loosing weight )?
The following diet and health program was developed for employees and dependents of General Motors, Inc. and is intended for their exclusive use. This program was developed in conjunction with a grant from U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration. It was field tested at the Johns Hopkins Research Centre and was approved for distribution by the Board of Directors, General Motors Corp. at a general meeting on August 15, 1985. General Motors Corp. wholly endorses this program and is making it available to all employees and families. This program will be available at all General Motors Food Service Facilities. It is management's intention to facilitate a wellness and fitness program for everyone. This program is designed for a target weight loss of 10-17 lbs per week. It will also improve your attitudes and emotions because of its cleansing systematic effects.
The effectiveness of this seven day plan is that the food eaten burn more calories than they give to the body in caloric value.
This plan can be used as often as you like without any fear of complications. It is designed to flush your system of impurities and give you a feeling of well being. After seven days you will begin to feel lighter because you will be lighter by at least 10 lbs. You will have an abundance of energy and an improved disposition.
During the first seven days you must abstain from all alcohol
You must drink 10 glasses of water each day Day One All fruits except bananas. Your first day will consist of all the fruits you want. It is strongly suggested that you consume lots of melons the first day. Especially watermelon and a loupe. If you limit your fruit consumption to melons, your chances of losing three lbs. on first day are very good.Day Two All vegetables. You are encouraged to eat until you are stuffed with all the raw or cooked vegetables of your choice. There is no limit on the amount or type. For your complex carbohydrate, you will start day two with a large baked potato for breakfast. You may top the potato with one pat of butter.
Day Three A mixture of fruits and vegetables of your choice. Any amount, any quantity. No bananas yet. No potatoes today.
Day Four Bananas and milk. Today you will eat as many as eight bananas and drink three glasses of milk. This will be combined with the special soup which may be eaten in limited quantities.
Day Five Today is feast day. You will eat beef and tomatoes. Eat two 10 oz. portions of lean beef. Hamburger is OK. Combine this with six whole tomatoes. On day five you must increase your water intake by one quart. This is to cleanse your system of the uric acid you will be producing.
Day Six Beef and vegetables. Today you may eat an unlimited amount of beef and vegetables. Eat to your hearts content.
Day Seven Today your food intake will consist of brown rice, fruit juices and all the vegetables you care to consume.
Tomorrow morning you will be 10-17 lbs. lighter than one week ago. If you desire further weight loss, repeat the program again. You may repeat this program as often as you like, however, it is suggested that you are allowed two glasses of white wine in addition to the instructions on the program. You may substitute champagne for white wine. Under no circumstances are you to drink any other alcoholic beverages with the exception of beer which is allowed. Any liquor (bourbon, vodka, rum) is forbidden. Cream drinks are especially forbidden. You may have an occasional cordial such as creme de menthe or schnapps, but you must always limit yourself to two drinks. If you wine, drink only wine that day. If you have beer, drink only beer that day, etc. Alcohol adds empty calories to your diet. However, after the first week it will help your digestion and settle your stomach.
G.M.'S Wonder Soup
The following soup is intended as a supplement to your diet. It can be eaten any time of the day in virtually unlimited quantities. You are encouraged to consume large quantities of this soup.
28 oz, Water, 6 Large Onions, 2 Green Peppers, Whole Tomatoes (fresh or canned), 1 Head Cabbage, 1 Bunch Celery, 4 Envelopes Lipton Onion Soup Mix, Herbs and Flavouring as desired.
Additional Comments
Vegetables as may be taken in the form of a salad if desired. No dressing except malt, white or wine vinegar, squeezed lemon, garlic, herbs. No more than one tea spoon of oil.
You have been given a recipe for the WONDER SOUP which can be eaten in unlimited quantities. This soup is a supplement while you are on the program and it should be a pleasure to eat. Not everyone likes cabbage, green peppers, calory etc. This recipe is not inflexible. You may substitute vegetables according to your taste. You may add any vegetables you like: asparagus, peas, corn, turnips, green beans, cauliflower, etc. Try to stay away from beans (lima, pinto, kidney, etc.), however, because they tend to be high in calories even though they

QUESTION:
Umm, im gonna die from starvation...?
Whoo, this is gonna be a long one..
ok, for some people, obesity is a big problem, so they advertise weight loss programs and supplements on television and stuff, right? Well, they need to advertise weight gain programs too.
Im an African American female, and most people's steryotypes of black females are either overweight or "bootylicious.", well, im actually underweight (and constantly losing weight) because im 15 years old, and i weigh 104 pounds (im 5'5" in height). This is not a new thing, though, because the main cause of this is when i was about 7 years old, i became a very picky eater. I only wanted to eat things like rice and hamburgers, and i never wanted to eat "southern foods' like collard greens, fried chicken, etc. Basically all that tasteless nasty stuff (and to this day it still disgusts me)well, my family would only cook these "southern foods" and when i would tell them im hungry, they'd say to eat what they already had, but when i said i didn't want to eat it, they would just say "well...." and walk away. What most people don't understand is that you can't force me to eat something i don't want or those same reflexes that keep you from eating something rotten, will make me throw the food back up.
In some cases, i've tried to eat, but i've only gained like, one pound from this time last year!
Maybe my metabolism is fast,
but I need help: this is starting to ruin my life!!. I feel like my mom doesn't want me anymore because of my weird eating habits, im starting to feel extreme dislike (i dont wanna say "hate") for other family members because they wont help me and/or eat regularly, and im even starting to hate black people in general, because they are up to their normal "weight", and are starting to make me uncomfortable by making it obvious that they think im awkward because of my size (and i've got these long ass legs to top it all off!). And plus guys don't like girls my size.
Can someone help me? this is starting to ruin my life- and will probably eventually lead to suicide!!!
FOOD IS NOT FREE, PEOPLE!-
ANSWER:
You have an eating disorder. It may be psychological or it may be physiological. In either case you need to seek professional help to determine what the real cause is.Don't be embarrassed by it, because it's not all that rare (my teenager has a similar problem), and it is "curable". Most people won't understand what you're going through, and will tell you to just "suck it up" and "eat what you're given". But you know it's not that easy.
Until you can see a doctor, do your best to get the food you know you can eat. Then, on occasion, try to branch out to foods that are similar to the ones you can handle. This will help you to expand the food you can eat.
Do your best to not give up. It could get serious if you don't act on it soon. And try not to get mad at others, they just don't understand what you're going through.

QUESTION:
Overly interactive neighbor or am I overreacting?
I apologize for the length of this yet wanted to provide enough detail so that your opinions could be formed to help me determine if I'm just overreacting or if the neighbor is crossing the line. Here goes: I have recently and only temporarily moved in to my boyfriends house and everything is fabulous, except for one of his neighbors. I have expressed feelings of discomfort to my boyfriend and while he agrees that his neighbor is crazy, he is too nice of a guy to really say anything. For the past 4 years my boyfriend has lived next door to a family of 4. There is a husband, wife, daughter and son. At some point the wife confided in my boyfriend that her husband is crazy and she and the kids are planning on moving out once the youngest, her son, graduates high school. Over time she continues to give him little nuggets of info about her crazy husband and periodically brings baked goods and bakes treats for our dogs, though her family has no pets. In the past six months she has brought over more than 50 name brand shirts from a designer outlet store for my boyfriend. Following her sons recent graduation her husband was out of town for a few nights. In his absence, she allowed her son to throw a big pool party, complete with underage drinking. At one point, close to midnight, she came over asking to borrow some ice and when my boyfriend explained he doesn't have an ice maker, we use trays, she asked to borrow a couple. When there was a possible threat of cops coming to her house to break up the party, she rounded up all the trash and put the cans next to our trashcans in front of his garage. The next day she sent my boyfriend a text and then stopped by to tell my boyfriend what was going on, and to give him another bag of polo shirts. He ensured her he wouldn't mention it to her husband and thanked her for the shirts. Although I am clearly home all day, she does not come over unless he is home. We have only had a few interchanges and she gave me a couple dresses, which I followed up with a thank you card and personal thanks. She seems to dart from her car to the front door when I'm around and it makes me wonder why she seems to avoid me and then comes over multiple times a day when my boyfriend is around. When we decided to leave some clothes we were going to donate on top of a shopping bag full of clothes she left at the front door, to try and send her the hint, she moved the bag so that it was directly in front of the door on the welcome mat and then took the bag from the new phone book that was on the step and hung it from the doorknob with a box of turnovers. I'm trying my best to ignore her and to maintain the neighborly relationship between my boyfriend and his neighbors but I can't help but feel uncomfortable by her constant gifts, unsolicited advice, unsolicited and detailed personal information, and frequent interruptions. We've tried to ignore her when she rings the bell but she just calls, texts or comes back later at all hours of night/day. When my boyfriend and I talk about it I feel terrible because he can't control her actions and yet I feel like something needs to be said or things will continue to be weird. He is under the impression that she's just crazy but harmless. I find it odd that a middle aged woman thinks discussing her marital issues with her twenty-something neighbor is acceptable. I can't help but shake the feeling that there are some deeper issues going on with this family and I'd rather they not involve myself or my boyfriend. I want to be respectful and ensure that the relationship with the neighbors remains friendly, and at the same time feel like this lady is overstepping her neighborly boundaries and taking advantage of my boyfriends kindness. Her most recent gifts include nutritional weight loss drinks, bars and supplements because she remembered his mother saying he was trying to slim down. She was also kind enough to drop off the dvd explaining the pyramid process and how he can supplement his income by selling the products. Im reaching my tolerance level...Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated!!
*30 shirts.-
ANSWER:
of course your boyfriend thinks she's harmless! he's getting loads of free stuff! You need to talk to her. just say you are feeling a little uncomfortable by the attention she is paying to your bf and although your sure it's innocent and your bf would never cheat on you, you would just appreciate if she gave him less gifts. Explain that you are his gf and it is YOUR job to look after hm and cloth him if needed.
Your bf also needs to reject the gifts when she comes over he needs to say to her Thanks but no- it's too much please take them back.Or tell her husband.

QUESTION:
Energy level is very low?
I am not vegetarian but pescatarian I probably consume seafood typically shrimp maybe 4-5 times a month. I am hypoglycemic. I make sure I get lots of protein as is required with my condition and I avoid eating sugary products as also required. I take supplements of a Multi B vitamin, a regular multivitamin, D vitamins and calcium. I am 7-8 lbs over my ideal weight which I am working to take off. For the record my energy level is no different before I tried to lose weight I was zapped at that time too. I've taken off 15 lbs (which is a healthy pace for weight loss) since January but not due to eating a mostly vegetarian diet but because I am following a calorie counted diet appropriate for my size and height mandated by a nutritionist. I was an omnivore when originally given the calorie count of 1200 a day I keep fat at around 30 grams a day. I get my whole grains from sprouted breads and oatmeal, occasionally bulgar. I eat fruit daily usually 1 large grapefruit, or an apple, sometimes raisins. I try to get one large serving of vegetables a day that would equal a days supply but sometimes I find that hard I eat on the go. I eat a small portion of nuts daily to get omegas in. I do have slowed thinking and I often forget things that I know and would normally be easy to recall. What else can I do to increase my energy level? I am not able to exercise because of a leg injury. If I eat more than the recommended calories I gain weight. My goal at 5'5 is 140 lbs which is still more than they say someone my height should weigh. The top "ideal" weight is 125 I don't believe in looking like a stick figure which I certainly would at that weight. It's discouraging because I have no desire to go back to eating more meat. When I was eating meat I had a little bit more energy (not much more). My digestive system doesn't tolerate it well( due to gallbladder taken out). I've been to doctors they don't think anything is wrong with me. I look very healthy. Chickpeas and lentils, straight tofu, soy milk make me feel ill when I eat them. I can tolerate some beans if eaten with a dairy product and brown rice. My protein comes mostly from tempeh and store bought meat substitutes like Light life products, Quorn, cheese, eggs. I've been doing this about a year. I want to hear from vegetarians, vegans or pescatarians only.
I am constantly tired except for perhaps the 1st 30 minutes after I get up in the morning. Otherwise I am drained most of the time.
The creatine sounds interesting I'd have to be extra careful according to the Wiki listing it can affect your blood sugar if you're hypoglycemic.-
ANSWER:
If a lot of the soy products are bothering you, you could try other sources of plant protein. I'll attach a link to this answer with some alternatives. One thing I could recommend to you is a creatine supplement. Creatine is a nutrient normally found in meat, and vegetarians don't get a lot of it. According to Wikipedia(I know, bad source), about half of the body's stores of creatine comes from food(meat). If you have a creatine deficiency, you could improve your energy level and cognitive function with supplements. Creatine CAN be animal-free, so check around for it. However, there could also be other, non-dietary explanations for this lack of energy. Does this lack of energy seem to come and go? If so, at what times of the day do you feel this energy drain? If you have a large meal at some point in the day you could be creating a spike in your blood sugar. The crash from this "sugar high" could lead to those symptoms. Also, how much sleep are you getting and is it of decent quality? I suggest you talk to your doctor and: 1. Get a checkup with blood work, and see if you are deficient in any nutrients or suffering from any diseases or chemical imbalances; and 2. Ask him or her about alternative forms of exercise that can work around your leg injury. My first thought would be to involve swimming or water in some way. This would greatly reduce the impact of exercise on your injured leg and allow you to get some much-needed cardiovascular exercise.

QUESTION:
Oily Orange Rectal Discharge?
Recently my brother has been taking some new medications, a weight loss aid, a dietary supplement, and a mood support herbal supplement. He complains that his stools have been lose and he says he is experencing an oily orange discharge along with them. It sits on the top of the water like greese. I assume that this has to do with the medications because his diet or lifestyle has not recently changed, but we'd like to be sure. Also,he has taken the recomended dosage of each supplement but stopped about two days ago when he began to notice the discharge, and would like to know how long it will be until the Discharge ceases.-
ANSWER:
Sounds like a malabsorption problem.

QUESTION:
Stinging hair follicles and hair loss?
Recently (within a half a year, or so I've noticed) I've had a thinning of my top, frontmost hairs. I'm a 19-year-old female. I will be going to the doctor soon, but would like some opinions for piece of mind. I'll give a bit of information to help:
My dad is 64 with more hair than he can handle (he looks like a dandelion). My mother has always had thin hair, but not in patches..just naturally thin. I definitely have my dad's hair..his is wavy, thick and auburn (like mine) and hers is thin, blonde, and straight..so I'm really not thinking it's genetics. No female nor male in my entire family have had thinning hair at a young age.
My first thought was something to do with hormones. I've had a struggle with slight premenstrual cystic acne (small nodules that wouldn't heal for 3 months) but I've since controlled it with Bactrim antibiotics. Maybe there's a correlation between my cystic acne (some say overproduction of androgens) and my hair loss? What symptoms would a female have if they overproduced androgens?
My other guess was lack of nutrients..I'm a vegetarian who doesn't really eat any vegetables. I'm naturally thin, but not too thin, so I don't think it's a weight issue..but I really don't eat a balanced meal (I usually have burritos and spaghetti and ramen). I try to take supplements and drink something call a Green Drink but I'm not sure it's enough.
My final idea was that it was either inflammation from dandruff (since I was young I had this, but I thought it went away..my scalp would only flake if I scraped at it and I began to think this might have been from conditioner build-up), folliculitis, or some other scalp bacterial/fungal infection. My main reason for thinking this is that the affected hair follicles sting and ache a little any time I flip my hair from one side to the other. It's really sensitive, only slightly painful, and I feel that the slightest touch could shed some hairs. Also, the other day I noticed a build-up of scaly dry skin that I had never seen before. I've been trying anti-drandruff shampoo for 4 days but I'm not sure whether this is helping. These symptoms seem indicative of an external, dermatic rather than an internal issue (such as those I listed above). Would I get this sort of tingly/irritated feeling if it was hormones/my antibiotics/malnourishment? I always thought folliculitis and infections would cause obvious flaking, sores, redness, etc...Just hoping for some input. I really hope this hair loss isn't permanent once I solve it
. Thanks!
I had bloodwork done a few months ago:
-normal Thyroid hormone levels

ANSWER:
WOW it could be any number of things, as you have a lot going on and a lot of history with different things going on. Dandruff is usually caused by a bacteria or a fungus, and Listerine applied to your scalp will cure it.( I know, sounds weird, but works). But.... with all of the items you have listed it might be best to seek the opinion of a dermatologist.

QUESTION:
Anyone out there know about Usana?
Hi. I just have a quick question about this stuff. My boyfriend's friend is an associate of Usana. The package is 0 to help with weight loss. He said that the people he's sold it to have lost from 10 pounds to almost 100 pounds. As an average sized woman (size 11 jeans, medium tshirt, curvy body) i want to try this out, but i know that its hard for women to lose weight. For men its easier, i forget why. but yeah. If i do decide to take this product i'll be going to the gym (im going to the gym even if i don't get this stuff), and i'll see what happens. but my only concern is if it doesn't work. Many people say it works, and according to the salesperson, he said its the top of the line diet supplement right now. Please let me know what you think, and what is the best choice.btw: here's the website(for the United States): http://products.usana.com/en/products/us/

ANSWER:
HiI am from Singapore and I have been using USANA products for a year now. USANA products are of TOP Quality.
Supplementation in current days is getting more and more important as our cells are subject to Free Radical attack every second, due to our lifestyle, the food we eat (over-processed food) and lack of exercise. Even when you exercise, there are more Free Radicals attack and your body needs to have the right nutrients to support it.
To achieve a healthy body with desired weight, you need to do some exercise as well. The product recommended could be the USANA RESET. It is full of nutrients and has a Low Glycemic index and will reduce your craving.
I do not believe in Miracles but believe that with the right supplementation and a healthy lifestyle, we will have a healthy body.
Btw, USANA is the only direct marketing company that received 5-star rating in the 4th edition Comparative Guide to Nutritional Supplements.

QUESTION:
Hydroxycut Hardcore X?
I just started on a weight loss/tone up plan today and had decided to go for a few supplements - most of which I believe are rather harmless.. here are the supplements I use,Whey Protein Isolate Chocolate
GNC Megateen Multivitamin
Hydroxycut Hardcore X (HHX)I take whey to help me in recovery as well as building/toning up my muscles and the multivitamin for obvious reasons. My question here is, I've read many reviews about HHX saying that it makes people sweat buckets, feel warm/hot and experience increased heart rate/ other side effects. However, after taking 1pill in the morning and 2pills in the afternoon about 1hour prior to my workout, I felt almost nothing. No heat/sweating/heartrate increased/ side effects. Now i'm wondering, am I not even responding to the EXTREMELY HIGH DRUG CONTENT?
This is half worrying and half freaky. Because I've heard many many reviews about good/bad effects of this product and I am not feeling anything despite the sudden introduction to my system.
By the way, I'm a girl at 20yo @ 151cm and 56kg. I want to try to lose 10kg by this xmas, but of course that is only a goal and except for the HHX, I am doing everything healthily. Eating 4-5 small meals a day, no high carbs/fast food/ sugared drinks/ etc etc etc.
If anyone could kindly shed some light or give some advise?
Today, I did some light gym work.
A warm up of 10mins on the treadmill at approx 80% max heartrate (gradually increasing the speed of course)
General weights - full body excluding the core/torso area (Just to kickstart the muscle work/building a lil' bit)
A 'cool down' of 10mins on the cross trainer (Pushing for about 4-5mins then resting/ going backwards for 1min, then going forward again)This is just my startup workout as I have been out of action for almost 8 months. Previously I was a competitive badminton player with HIT 3-4times a week and played for college in nationals. Our training is rather intense as we never fail to make it to the top 6 in nationals every year.
Any advise would be kindly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
-
ANSWER:
Don't take Hydroxycut it's a waste of money and there are better ways to do burn the weight. Anything that promises to make you "heat up" and "increase" your heart rate can be very dangerous and should not be taken lightly "heating up" could easily overheat your body and dehydrate you. Most of the weight you will be losing (if this were to actually work) would be water weight and it would just come back. You should focus on a cardio workout, that's safe. You should also focus on not losing more then 1-2 pounds of fat per week, anything more than that is unhealthy and it means that your doing something wrong.

QUESTION:
Vitamin or supplement suggestions to help an emaciated foster dog?
I've recently brought home an emaciated dog from the shelter where I'm a volunteer. I'm going to be her "foster mom" until she's well enough to be adopted, and I need some suggestions on how to get her healthy and beautiful again. She is most likely a pure bred Yellow Lab, probably around 2 years old. She has very, very little body fat, and pretty obvious muscle loss as well. Her undercoat is all but gone, except around her neck. Her top coat is coarse and dull. Her teeth are in pretty good shape. The good news is, she has a good appetite, and she now has somebody to care for her. I'm going to start feeding her a combo of canned and dry puppy food tomorrow to help her gain weight, but does anyone have any suggestions for some additional vitamins/supplements to help with her coat? Or even some suggestions on bulking her up would be great! Thanks! Here are a few pics of her:

ANSWER:
Nutrical is good, but in my experience with underweight and emaciated dogs,Bil -Jac frozen dog food ,fed in addition to a good puppy food, puts weight on a dog faster than anything and most dogs love it.An egg a day ( poached or soft - boiled ) will do wonders for her, too.Eggs are the perfect food for dogs as they contain the perfect balance of amino acids and fatty acids.A good supplement is "Missing Link." Salmon oil is great,as is a salmon or mackeral ( canned is fine). Good luck and how nice of you to foster her.Poor thing.

QUESTION:
Is there anything wrong with making improvements to my self-image?
I use to weigh over 340 lbs. When my husband died last year in the middle east, I had a very rude awakening. I was morbidly obese, and I had 3 young children that needed me. I've lost close to 190 lbs in 8 months. A very strict diet, exercise, vitamins/mineral supplements, and a sincere dedication to staying fit. Just to stay on top of it all, last semester I took a personal trainer course at my local junior college, and I am now a certified personal trainer and certified nutritional, weight loss/health coach. I've learned so much about health. Next fall I will be going to college full time to pursue my bachelors, with human nutrition as my major and exercise science as my minor. This summer my kids are going to my brothers house for 8 weeks. I am having an elective tummy tuck/muscle realignment, breast reduction (I'm currently a 38 triple E. And yes they are 100% natural), and liposuction. I'm so tired of the sores, skin irritation, and infections that I get with the over hanging skin. My back always hurts because my breasts are so darned big. I'm going from a 38 triple E to a 36 full C. I'm doing this for health as well as self-impovement/confidence reasons.
I'm just wondering if anyone out there think it's wrong to make improvements to their self-image? Please no rude answers, thank you.
-
ANSWER:
i think it's absolutely wonderful! Most people couldn't do what you have done. Extra skin doesn't go away. You did the hard work, stayed self deciplined and have completely changed your life. If this is what makes you feel better then go for it! Some people don't understand and will always be negative. I was in your situation before and I still get criticized by my own mother, who is morbidly obese, that I am too skinny and need to be overweight to be healthy and feel good. That's when i hang up and wait a few weeks to speak to her again. All I have accomplished and the people you love have the nerve to put you down instead of congratulating you. I think it's the best thing you could have done for yourself. And i'm sorry about your husband.

QUESTION:
Lost my sex drive! And i am only 16!?
Lately I have realized that I haven't been thinking enough about sex!
I know it is weird but I am really worried.I am a 16 year old boy. I workout 4 times a week and maintain a very healthy weight (i am also quite muscular).
I just came out of a diet, where i quickly lost 25 kilos in 3 months... but i don't think this has affected me.
I also just recently started taking protein supplements and some maino acids, in order to gain back the muscle i cannibalized during the weight loss. (i had lower sex drive before that already).I remember i used to masturbate every night and it was like a must or i would think of sex too often and lose focus on the next day.
Now.. i barely think of sex during the day, i dont get midday errections and when i masturbate, i feel as though as i was doing it to compensate for something! Please help
p.s i drink every 2 weeks and barely ever go over the top. Marijuana is also present in my life but only in very rare occasions (like a couple times per year maximum).
-And i have dealt with eating disorders in the past (by myself).-
ANSWER:
Oh, I think it would be safe to say that you have been preoccupied with other things. Especially on the strict diet you've been on. Health issues absolutely affect sex drive but you may have been a bit obsessed about your need to lose weight and that has likely replaced the usual 16-year-old's obsession with sex. You are walking down a difficult path right now and one that isn't the best for you physically. The workouts and dieting can have taken their toll and you need to get back on a regular routine and health in order to feel more regular. I'd like to say to you 'stop obsessing,' but I don't think you'll listen. But I do suggest that you calm down a bit, go out and have some fun, eat healthy and don't replace real food with supplements. You'll be a physical wreck unless you create some normal routines and health.

QUESTION:
Advice for partially erupted & impacted wisdom tooth, swelling of gum's & throat pain?
Finally doing something about a possibly impacted wisdom tooth that's caused me problems for over 2 years now.I'd like to know a few things if anyone can help, bear with the long description of my situation.
No actual pain in the tooth itself, just the gum surrounding the partially erupted tooth. The wisdom teeth in my upper jaw have came in flawlessly, no problems whatsoever ... except for the havoc raining down from one.
Top left wisdom tooth is so jagged & sharp it's constantly jabbing down on the lower left wisdom tooth & the surrounding gum's, irritating my gums & causing them to swell. Usually the swelling & pain would go away with the proper care (a mix of saltwater gargles & using mouthwash, also I find a tea made from white sage leaves helps reduce inflammation some). Well it's happened again, only this time worse. A larger area of gum-line is now effected, accompanied by a sore throat & slightly swollen lymph nodes under the jawline on the outer left side of my neck ( just under the swollen areas in my mouth ), no fever. Impossible for me to eat just about anything and very hard to open and close my mouth all the way or stick my tongue out. I can tell the lower left tooth is probably impacted, I see the molar just in front of it is raised significantly as if the wisdom tooth was slowly pulling the tooth in front of it outward, so needless to say I will be asking to have it extracted and may ask to have the top tooth shaved a little to help prevent anymore gum irritation.
Been dealing with the pain & swelling since Tuesday Oct 21 & finally got an appointment for Tuesday Oct 28, I hate to wait that long especially since it could be infected but I'll take what I can get.
Now for the question part lol:
What, other than gargling with warm saltwater, are some good home treatments to help keep the swelling & pain at bay until I see the dentist?
Is an extraction my best method for solving this problem once & for all or are there alternatives?
I might get prescribed antibiotics since I'm pretty sure this is an infection, so what are the kinds of antibiotics prescribed for such conditions? What are the names of the typical antibiotics given for gum/mouth/throat/tooth infections?
I have some recent gastrointestinal problems resulting in weight loss & improper nutrient absorption & I take probiotics 2-3 times daily either in the form of yogurt, a probiotic cereal, and/or lactobacillus acidophilus supplements (13.3mg or 2 billion cultures) to help, I'm sure I'll need to up the dosage when taking antibiotics.
When would be the proper time to take probiotics? A few hours before or after antibiotics? Should I take the antibiotics and probiotics with or without food? How long would I need to be on antibiotics before surgery? Is taking antibiotics recommended for someone like me who already has some GI problems?
I've had tinnitus in my left ear for over 10 years & a recently a bout with severe vertigo that left me incapacitated exhausted & starved for a week, I hear that the local anesthetic administered before oral surgery can actually cause tinnitus.
Does anyone know if this is true? Would this irritate my problem ear further?
After vertigo, I don't want to risk using an anesthetic that would irritate my ear more & cause another bout of vertigo, although I am aware that this possible infection could surely do the same thing if it spreads.
Would I be prescribed any post-operative painkillers? If so, I'd like to know what kind of medication is usually prescribed after a wisdom tooth extraction?
Sorry again for the overly descriptive "questions" but I've been worried of this, any advice, tips, or personal experience is greatly appreciated!
Thank you, Namasté!
~ Peace & BaLaNcE ~

ANSWER:
Considering it's just your gums that hurt I'm not sure if my advice is going to help but maybe it's worth a shot? I came across this website while suffering through a monster toothache these past few days. What I found that works for me is a combo of Table salt, Black pepper, Cheyenne Pepper, Granulated garlic, and a dash of vanilla extract to form the mix into a paste. I also use a cold compress but every tooth is different so you will have to experiment for yourself. A slice of onion in my mouth also helps the pain a bit which also works to naturally fight infection according to my sources, oh and Garlic is the same as the onion. None of these taste good but when your mouth hurts you will do anything to get relief, mouth pain is the worst. Also with the Cheyenne pepper it's pretty spicy but I think it helps to take my mind off the pain a bit. Good luck I know you are miserable right now, hope it gets better! Go check out this site that I used and find what works for you.

QUESTION:
Are Centrum Multivitamins any good?
I am on a weight loss diet and thought it would be a good idea to top up with multivitamins to make sure I am getting all the minerals and vitamins I need daily, just in case im not getting enough from my dietI am taking Centrum - a complete daily multimineral-multivitamin food supplement for adults
What I wanted to know is if these multivitamins are actually any good?, do they actually do what they say and help you top up? Or are they complete rubbish and not worth taken?
OR
Is there another all in one multivitamin tablet I could take daily that is better or had a better effect?
Thanks
x-
ANSWER:
I've used Centrum multivitamins and they're good -especially throughout winter - it helped me ward off colds and flu. However, they're really only useful if you are in need of a particular vitamin. And if you don't lead a healthy lifestyle (get enough sleep, good food, etc) they won't help that much, you have to look at things holistically.
Good luck

QUESTION:
I found this diet. I was wondering if it works.?
Best Answer - Chosen by Voters
Try this one. It is really effective and I've proven this!Weight Loss Diet Program:
This program is designed for a target weight loss of 10-17 lb per week. It will also improve your attitudes and emotions because of its cleansing systematic effects.
The effectiveness of this seven day plan is that the foods eaten burn more calories than they give to the body in caloric value.
This plan can be used as often as you like without any fear of complications. It is designed to flush your system of impurities and give you feeling of well being. After seven days you will begin to feel lighter because you will be lighter by at least 10 lb. You will have an abundance of energy and an improved disposition.
During the first seven days you must abstain from all alcohol.
You must drink 10 glasses of water each day.Day One: All fruits except bananas. Your first day will consist of all the fruits you want. It strongly suggested that you consume lots of melons the first day specially water melon and cantaloupe. If you limit your fruit consumption to melons, your chances of losing 3 lb on first day are very good.
Day Two: All vegetables. You are encouraged to eat until you are stuffed with all the raw or cooked vegetables of your choice. There is no limit on the amount or type. For your complex carbohydrate, you will start day two with a large baked potato for breakfast. You may top the potato with one pat of butter.
Day Three: A mixture of fruits and vegetables of your choice. Any amount, any quantity. No bananas yet. No potatoes today.
Day Four: Bananas and milk. Today you will eat as many as eight bananas and drink three glasses of milk. This will be combined with the special soup which may be eaten in limited quantities.
Day Five: Today is feast day. You will eat beef and tomatoes. Eat two 10oz portions of lean beef. Hamburger is ok. Combine with six whole tomatoes. On day five you must increase your water intake by one quart. This is to cleanse your system of the uric acid you will be producing.
Day Six: Beef and vegetables. Today you may eat an unlimited amount of beef and vegetables. Eat to your heart content.
Day Seven: Today your food intake will consist of brown rice, fruit juices and all the vegetables you care to consume.
Tomorrow morning you will be 10-17 lb lighter than one week ago. If you desire further weight loss, repeat the program again. You may repeat this program as often as you like. However, after the first week it will help your digestion and settle your stomach.
Beverages you may consume while on the program:
1.Water (flavored with lemon/lime if desired)
2.Club Soda is ok
3.Black coffee. No cream or cream substitute. No sugar
or sweetness
4.Black Tea = Herb or Leaf
5.Absolutely nothing else except the fruit juices which
are part of day seven. No fruit juices before day seven.Special Soup: The following soup is intended as a supplement to your diet. It can be eaten any time of the day in virtual unlimited quantities. You are encouraged to consume large quantities of this soup.
28oz water, 6 large onions, 2 green peppers, whole tomatoes (fresh or canned), 1 head cabbage, 1 bunch celery, 4 envelopes Lipton onion soup mix, herbs and flavoring as desired.-
ANSWER:
This right here, "This program is designed for a target weight loss of 10-17 lb per week.", is not only utter bullshit but is extremely unhealthy and can have serious negative side effects.

QUESTION:
Help would really be appreciated concerning thyroid problems!!! I'm 15!!?
Hi. First of all, I'm very concerned for my health. I have a reason to believe this because I have been taking a dietery supplement called, "Cellucor T7 Extreme". I took it for 3 weeks and noticed signifigant weight loss. Then I looked up how it does this and it produces more T3 and T4 cells in the thyroid!!! Lately, I've had irregular heartbeat, insomnia, and a mucher higher appetite. I have a few more symptoms actually, but I can't remember them off the top my head. For my health it would be nice if an adult or someone who has experience can do some research for me. It could be just me cause my mom sais I read so much, I think I have it. Please though, research this and tell me if it's possible. By the way, the person at the vitamin shop said I had to hav it. Thanks
I did the whole 30 day supply!!!! Plus I'm not taking it anymore cause I'm at a good weight now!!!!! I know about diet blah blah blah. Do some research and help me and not just think off the top of ur head!!!!!!! Please!!! I couldve assessed more then this.-
ANSWER:
of course you had to have it, you paid him in green, didn't you?
well, in case you didn't figure the solution yet: stop that supplement
if you are overweight, start running
you wanna muscles? eat and work out
kid, if there is one thing i learned from life and i can teach you here, it is that there is no shortcut to happiness------
alright, you obviously didn't like the father figure of my speech
so, again, you stopped? that's great..well, initially you didn't mention that
how can i help you again? you said it increases t3 and t4 cells? well, there is nothing as t3 t4 cells, i guess you meant t3 t4 hormones
well, i did reasearch as you advised, opened their website: http://www.cellucor.com/wl-system/t7-extreme/ "what a fancy video!"
i found out it doesnt increase "your" t3 t4 hormones, it supplies you with compounds similar to these...the difference sounds trivial to you? well, it is the difference between hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism to me
If it supplies you with t3 and t4 analogues, this will decrease you TSH level, eventually decreases your thyroid activity, not the opposite, not what you trying to tell us: irregular heartbeat, insomnia, increased appetite....these are signs of hyperthyroidism, while if you suffer from anything it could be hypothyroidism, quite the opposite.
well, when did you stop taking it? i cant believe they will stick in your body for more than 1 week unless you have bad liver and kidneys.
so, you either imagining it (I'm sorry! but you get to live) or you still have them in your body.If it is the latter case, drink a lot of water.
Are you satisfied now?

QUESTION:
Why am I not seeing results with P90X yet?
I have just finished week three; Recovery week starts tomorrow then I'm on too Phase two for four weeks. After three weeks now I haven't seen any change in my body so far. I know Rome was not built in a day but I was hoping to see something different by now. I know most people will ask if I am eating right and my answer is...sort of. I am a guy who did no exercise, drank soda all the time and for lack of time I ate fast food almost every meal and managed to get about 20% body fat now, I am 5'7" and roughly 150lbs. Since starting P90X I have drank NOTHING ELSE but water...and an occasional beer or 2 on the weekends. I have cut fast foods but I do manage a Subway and get free food there so I have been eating their eggs white for breakfast each day and a chicken salad for lunch with no cheese or dressing. For dinner I have been eating soups or a "Smart Ones" meal and I have been supplementing with whey protein. Also, yes I do cheat every now and then but that's maybe one meal one day of the week. On top of all of this, about 3-4 days out of the week I have been jogging 3 miles on those days. So, I am not on a strict diet really but I have made good changes, at least I think I have. I am frustrated now because even with making these changes to my diet, jogging 3-4 days a week and doing P90X I have not seen any changes. I still seem to have the same amount of fat on my torso, not much weight loss but maybe I'm gaining muscle? Does anyone know if I am just being impatient? I know its P90X and not P28X but I'm not too happy right now...-

I don't need to go into details of what its done to my life, the stories are all the same. Luckily other then the extreme loss of weight, I still appear to be healthy to those around me. This addiction started only two months after a major promotion at work came about for me, and quite obviously I have not maintained my 'a-game' if you will for almost the entirety of my management career. Things go really rough for me nearly two months ago, I didn't have a handle on anything inside or outside of work and in turn became the epitome of a 'basket-case'. To my defense I know through various sources that I actually was far succeeding expectations, however these areas were others then the area I'm supposed to be managing. Long story short, I was out of work for about a month and a half while I was under doctors observation for a medical condition (unrelated) and also to distress and attempt to pump the breaks and make the world stop spinning...So in my time away from work I was able to sort out, clean, organize (obviously on all) any possessions or belongings in my house. I also started reconnecting with family members which was much needed, and broke out of an amazing relationship that went sour due to the extremist religious practices by one parties family. On top all the good things, I even cut back my use and really tough myself how to in a weird way work the addiction into my life (not realistic). So here is my dilemma:
I return to work next week, and I still want to kick this nasty habit but I have run out of time where I will be free of obligations. My fear is the fact of sleeping too often, too long, mood swings, all that fun stuff. I need to know if its possible to ween myself off like it appears that I have since the early days, and that has always in the past proven to be the most effective way for me.... until I find something new and interesting like this to start all over! Is there any practices, foods, supplements, or activities that can make my transition to being human again a bit smoother? My psychologist is unaware of the events that have taken place and has prescribed my back on to Adderal for ADHD. I know it sounds alarming like I'm getting myself into something deeper, but I was prescribed it throughout grades 4-12 and so on but 14 years in total. So me, the once honor student, said to be 'sharp' kid has been into illegal drug interactions three times prior; all of which proceeded very shortly after I discontinued my use of the prescription(which currently I am off of). Is the fact that it is amphetamine possibly going to help me through this or not? It has been the ONLY substances that I am incapable of abusing. Never tried to, never wanted to, been asked to plenty of time, and not once did I ever.
I suppose I'm looking for a somewhat regimented plan of attack at beating this beast. Does anyone have any pointers on what will help me without taking me out of work longer, or becoming a slug, or just giving up? I really do want this, and I think its safe to say... key word think; that I have been through worse. Thank you in advance for any guidance
Regards,

QUESTION:
is this good info? remember i havent finished ALL about them. this is just a little about them. so it it good?
Why Do They Make A Good Pet?
Pros!
They are always there for you when you are down! You can teach one to do tricks, and very few will talk and whistle for you, males are better at doing that then females!
You can feed them almost any fruit and veggie that you have in your refrigerator, just make sure that they don't have seeds, they are toxic to all birds!
They get along with most kids and most adults, although, still keep supervision with them when around kids!
Easy to maintain (food, cleaning, grooming)
They clean themselves
Males can whistle if you teach them
Quiet
Can eat a variety of foods
Perfect size (in my opinion)
They get attached to youGood beginner bird and are easy to tame and not very expensive or noisy they are good and loved even with professional bird owners
They love looking at them selvesCons
Some prefer not to be touched on the head.
They can live to be about 15 years or older.
They thrive for attention everyday, meaning one would need at least 1 hour a day to be let out of the cage.
They can be expensive when it comes to vet bills, toys, and other stuff! They can be a little loud, but not as loud as most macaws or parrots.
They can be messy, especially when they have gone "food hunting" for seeds, and when they get their "dust" everywhereCAGE
The cage should be about 3 feet tall, 2-3 feet wide and 1-2 deep.
There should be a small nest to sleep in
At least two perches
Food and water dish
Cuttlebone
One or two toys
Some of the things can be placed outside of the cage so its not crowded on the insideHYGIENE
A cockatiel should make yearly visits to the vet!
A cockatiels cage should be cleaned once or twice per week
It is important and almost VITAL there is a Avian Veterinarian with in 30 miles of your location.
To clean a cockatiel mist the bird with water or a grooming spray.
Clipping flight feathers is not necessary, but when done correctly it can help prevent injury or escape; consult an avian veterinarian on what is best for your bird
Nails should be trimmed by a qualified person to prevent injury to the birdFOOD
A commercial cockatiel seed mix is generally regarded as suitable along with a good vitamin supplement
Pellet diets will also provide a fairly balanced feed, however it does not contain the phytonutrients (antioxidant pigments) that are found in vegetables, fruits, grains, and seeds, so should be supplemented.
supplement your cockatiel's diet with green foods such as dandelion leaves, weeds, carrot tops, celery, watercress, spinach, peas, seedling grasses, and millet.
Various fruits will also be enjoyed such as apples, oranges, bananas and others.
Cuttlebones are recommended to help provide calcium and to help keep the beak trim. Proteins can be offered in the form of mynah pellets, game bird starter, dog food, and even mashed hard-boiled eggs.
Grit should not be provided. Although it was previously thought that grit was needed by cockatiels, it has been found that they do not need grit and can actually cause problems if given to cockatiels. Parrots that eat seed whole without shelling it first require grit, but cockatiels shell their seed before eating it, so don't need grit.
Give your cockatiel fresh drinking water every day. You can also add soluble vitamins and minerals to the water.SIGNS OF SICKNESS
You should really try to weigh your bird on a weekly basis if possible – even better would be if you could do this once a day. If you can do this, you’ll be able to detect the slow loss of weight and body mass that a cockatiel undergoes when ill. A reliable indicator of illness is if your cockatiel stops eating and a loss of weight can verify this symptom.
Feather picking is yet another one of the common signs of a sick cockatiel. There may be an underlying disease of even a parasitic infection that is causing your bird to groom excessively. However, behavioral problems can sometimes be the issue. A combination of these factors may be at play in certain cases. To determine the underlying cause, you will need to take your cockatiel to vet to rule out disease.
Obviously, if your cockatiel is vomiting, this is a clear indication of illness. For your bird to develop a symptom as serious as vomiting indicates a detrimental condition. Vomiting could be indicative of critically dangerous conditions such as ingestion of some type of poison, a serious infection, or blocked bowels. If your cockatiel is experiencing continuing instances of vomiting, you need to seek assistance from a veterinarian immediately.
Another one of the common signs of a sick cockatiel is periodic sneezing. A sinus infection is often to blame. Your veterinarian will need to examine your cockatiel to determine the infectious agent as there are numerous causes of sinus infections. The most common causes of sinus infections are fung

ANSWER:
It's mostly good, but...Seeds are not generally toxic, especially in vegetables - you need to be a lot more specific. You routinely eat peas (which are seeds), green beans, bananas and berries, and so can birds.
On the cons, you might mention that their dust makes them a bad choice for people with respiratory problems.
Drop the "or grooming spray". Water is generally better.
You should reword the start of your food section. It currently seems to imply that a seed mix does contain vitamins and phytonutrients and doesn't need to be supplemented with fresh food (but it's generally worse than pellets).
For protein, we give our birds meat. Many like beef or chicken as long as it's in small pieces.
"Parrots that eat seed whole without shelling it" - There are many birds that do this and require grit. I don't think any of them are parrots.
Good advice on the weighing.
You should distinguish between regurgitating food - which is perfectly healthy - and vomiting, which is indeed serious.
Replace "periodic" with "frequent". Periodic could mean once a day, which isn't a problem
Overall, a good start..

ANSWER:
Hi Ahmad,You have made the right decisions and now you need to follow through with them.
When you give up alcohol and drugs initially you will feel really bad. Time is a healer. So you need to continue seeing your doctor and counsellors if any.
When a doctor says you need fresh blood he means you need to give yourself time to recover.
If you live in India or Pakistan your doctor may be right when he says you had typhoid. However, typhoid is rare in Canada, UK and US.
First you need to eat right. Then you should consider starting exercises gradually. You have already made the tough decisions. Now you need to execute them.
Good luck.

QUESTION:
I lost 50 lbs within 11 months, but now hair is thinning on top of head..does rapid weight loss cause hair los?
Im 26, beginning about 2 months ago for the first time in my life i noticed that i can start seeing my scalp through my hair in the light!!! prior to this i had lost 50 lbs within id say 10 - 11 months..(vigirous excercise, supplements, not eating as much junk, etc). wel i feel great because of that, but now my hair is thinning on the top and im really scared that it wont grow back!could this rapid weight loss have caused this hair thinning ?? or do u tink i was going to lose my hair anyways and coincidentally it just started showing a few months after all my weight loss??
TIMELINE: (25 years old) i started actively trying losing weight. 11 months later i am 50 lbs lighter (from 185 now at 135). about 3 - 4 months later i start noticeing this thinning on the top of my head (for the first time in my life). ive never had issues with hair thinning EVER before (im 26 now), and i dont know if it runs in my genetics because i was adopted.
So will i be lucky and it will start growing back to its original fullness? or am i SOL?/ im really scared ive always had a full head of hair but now its sort of noticable! it comes out when i am in the shower , shampooing it, running my hand through it..when i go to style it etc..
i have dyed it before on a semi regular basis but now i dont. i also put a little gel in it. but again, ive never had this problem in all 26 years of my life up until 3 months ago when i began noticing this. if this is the sacrifice i have to make for the weight loss..then id rather be 180 lbs like i was b4 and get my hair back!! im 5' 9' too.
i did start eating A LOT less when i was actively losing the weight-
