      I have been through it all and know what's it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can't be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I've worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.

      First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can't eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising...

      This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it's good for the heart.

      However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It's so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I've found a great addition to help any one out, it's a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don't get all crazy on me and say diet pills don't work.       If you're doing low carb/ high protein, make sure you're getting your protein from generally fatty sources (if you eat chicken, eating something with it that has a good source of Omega 3's, like an avocado).

      I'd recommend looking at the guidelines of the paleo diet. When I started, I dropped from 197 to 188 in about a month. Slowly, my weight increased up to around 194, where is stayed for several months (roughly losing about the same amount of fat as muscle gained). Right now, I'm back up to 197, with a lot more muscle mass and a lot less fat... and I'm still getting stronger.

      Also, knock the medical marijuana crap out. You're 20, you don't need that stuff... and it's going to limit your gains.

      I'm sorry, there's really no such thing as a safe diet pill. They almost all contain stimulants that can damage the cardiovascular system, and then there's Alli, which can give you explosive diarrhea, so I don't think you want that pill either.

      Diet and exercise should work perfectly fine. I think you're probably either not giving it enough time (you should give it at least a month before you decide you're not seeing results), or you aren't dieting or exercising right.

      As for your diet, you should be eating high protein, high fat (saturated not trans, and no that's not unhealthy), low carb, low sugar. Keep your calorie intake around 1500 a day, carbs around 100-150 g a day, and as little added sugar as you can manage. Make sure to eat lots of fruits and veggies too.

      And you need to push yourself when you exercise. A nice easy pace won't do anything. You have to get sweaty, tired, and work hard. If you don't feel tired when you're done, if you're not out of breath, you're not doing it right. And you need to do both cardio and weight training, but on different days. Try and work out for at least an hour, 4-6 days a week.

      Also act as a complex carb so they make you feel full longer.
      Spice them up with chili and garlic powder, black pepper and onions and diced tomatoes and the spices help increase metabolic rate.

      The only way to get rid of belly fat is to lose the excess weight all over the body.
      We don't get to decide where we lose excess body fat.
      We can work a specific muscle to make it larger but that doesn't apply to weight loss.
      Unfortunately the dreaded belly fat is the last we seem to lose.

      Just because somebody claims their product does something doesn't make it true. All of these products except Alli have to be sold as food supplements, not a drug since they cannot provide acceptable scientific evidence to support their outrageous claims. Alli is the only FDA approved over the counter weight loss product.

      You should really talk to your doctor first just to be safe. Also, those weight loss supplements rarely work, mostly they're just a scam to get your money with no real proof that they do anything at all. Plain old diet and exercise are the only sure fire way to lose the weight.

      Try exercising more. Walking doesn't count. Run fast for as long as you can 6 days a week. The key to losing weight isn't starving yourself or taking pills. You need to do the work and make it a habit. If you don't it will all come back. Not to be offensive but at 277lbs I'm sure it's hard to go running almost every day. So start with a fast walk, and every week start going faster until you can run for a long time. I can lose 10lbs a week if I want to, but thats because I swim heavily for 2 and a half hours 5 times a week.

      PS: No weight loss supplement that you see on TV will work. They are all scams. The only pills that work are horrible for your heart. I strongly advise you to give up on diet pills.

      Best weight loss 'supplement' for a teen is lean protein and lots of good interval training.

      - P90x is good...i'm sure you've heard of it
      - Take plenty of glutamine/amino acids to help with recovery...especially if you are working out multiple times/day (Xtend is a good brand)

      For workouts: I would recommend you try one or more of the following:

      - P90x...one of the pioneers for home workouts based on 'muscle confusion' (your body never really gets used to what you're doing and as a result you continue to get results)
      - Insanity...google it, get it. This is the most intense workout ever put on tape

      - Eating and stomach (abs)
      You can (and should) eat 5-6 semi-small nutritious meals...speeds up your metabolism and prevents you from being too hungry. Don't load up with 'tons' of food and don't cut your calories to bare mininum (1K) as this slows down your metabolism.
      You can try eating various things: fresh fruit, chicken, brown rice, broccoli, beef jerky, protein shake, applesauce (no sugar added), veggies, lean ground turkey, turkey sausages, Low sugar protein bars. Oh, and substitute any junk food with Odwalla bars (the choco. chip ones are fabulous and have 8 grams of protein). (2x/wk should be ok)
      If you eat ~7 a.m. ~10 a.m. 1p.m. 4 p.m. 7p.m. (and 10 p.m. if you're up late you should be great. Get your excercise/workout in b/w any of those meals (or directly prior)
      You don't need many weights or machines. You can get one of those ab balls online or at a Target/Wal-mart for like -. Do abs using the ball...always works your core. Also get some resistance bands and you can work your legs (outer thighs) as well. Go for a run or do some sprints to get in better shape. Pick up some sports/activities with your friends.
      - Oblique exercises (twisting - works your 'love handles'). Do a lot of these using the ab ball: sit on the ball hold a 10 lb weight and walk your feet forward. 'Lay down' and with the weigh above you twist to one side-up-pause-twist to the other side. Ensure you're using your obliques to do the work.
      - Start taking a thermogenic fat burner (will burn fat faster when your body temp rises - i.e. working out), ripped fuel 5x, or hydroxycut hardcore before your workouts. Don't exceed the daily recommended allowance and drink plenty of water. You don't NEED these, they just help burn fat faster while providing energy. You could take a multi-vitamin instead (relatively cheap at Wal-mart)

      I have a couple of water bottles next to the couch.. each time I sit on the couch I pick them up and lift them up and down.
      It is boring and it seems useless to do but if you get used to do it,., after just 20 minutes you will start sweating and your arm will get tired.
      Just change arm and carry on, eventually it will become automatic and you might even want to progress to some dumbells, maybe a little bit heavier than the water bottle.
