Learn The Fast Way To Lose Weight

Rapid Weight Loss

Lemons and weight loss are recently in the news all the time with success stories of how people have achieved rapid weight loss drinking various different lemon drinks. There are lots ways that you can achieve rapid weight loss, and so if you are looking to lose weight, then you should first do your homework. Using lemons for weight loss is just one of them.

Some people think that rapid weight loss is unhealthy because they think that it can’t be healthy to lose weight that fast, but you should know that there is nothing wrong with rapid weight loss, and using lemons to achieve weight loss is actually beneficial to your health as it cleanses your body at the same time.

A well known lemon diet which is used by a lot of celebrities is called the ‘Master Cleanse’. This diet using lemons to achieve rapid weight loss was actually invented several years ago and has been used successfully by thousands of people ever since.

Some people who undertake the lemon diet for rapid weight loss also take supplements, however taking pills and medications can be really dangerous. Vitamin supplements are fine and so are most herbal remedies for weight loss but while you are on the lemon diet for weight loss it is an all liquid diet, which means that you only drink liquids and do not eat anything. You cannot do this longer than ten days because if you keep going longer than that then you are likely to get seriously ill.

Weight loss of between five and fifteen pounds is what the average person who undertakes the lemon diet for rapid weight loss is expected to lose. One of the most important things to do before you start your lemon diet is to prepare and the best way to do this is to buy a 'Master Cleanse Kit' which gives you everything you need to start your rapid weight loss program.

Although cardio exercise is a great idea it is not recommended on the master cleanse due to the limited calorie intake. However you should also know that if you are using lemons as a method of rapid weight loss it is less likely that you will be able to keep the weight off for a substantial period of time, and so you are going to want to come up with a different plan for the long-term but having said that it is excellent if you want to kick start your diet or have a few pounds to lose before an important date!

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
How many calories should I eat for rapid weight loss?
Im 15, about 5'7, and need to lose weight by tuesday. Im asking someone out and I would like to look my best when I do so.
How many calories should I eat daily to acheive rapid weight loss?
    (Im not a girl)

    • ANSWER:
Do calories matter or do you simply need to eat certain foods and that will guarantee you’ll lose weight? Should you count calories or can you just count “portions?” Is it necessary to keep a food diary? Is it unrealistic to count calories for the rest of your life or is that just part of the price you pay for a better body? You’re about to learn the answers to these questions and discover a simple solution for keeping track of your food intake without having to crunch numbers every day or become a fanatic about it.

In many popular diet books, “Calories don’t count” is a frequently repeated theme. Other popular programs, such as Bill Phillip's "Body For Life," stress the importance of energy intake versus energy output, but recommend that you count “portions” rather than calories…

      Phillips wrote,

"There aren't many people who can keep track of their calorie intake for an extended period of time. As an alternative, I recommend counting 'portions.' A portion of food is roughly equal to the size of your clenched fist or the palm of your hand. Each portion of protein or carbohydrate typically contains between 100 and 150 calories. For example, one chicken breast is approximately one portion of protein, and one medium-sized baked potato is approximately one portion of carbohydrate."

Phillips makes a good point that trying to count every single calorie - in the literal sense - can drive you crazy and is probably not realistic as a lifestyle for the long term. It's one thing to count portions instead of calories – that is at least acknowledging the importance of portion control. However, it's another altogether to deny that calories matter.

Calories do count! Any diet program that tells you, "calories don't count" or you can "eat all you want and still lose weight" is a diet you should avoid because you are being lied to. The truth is, that line is a bunch of baloney designed to make a diet sound easier to follow.

Anything that sounds like work – such as counting calories, eating less or exercising, tends to scare away potential customers! The law of calorie balance is an unbreakable law of physics: Energy in versus energy out dictates whether you will gain, lose or maintain your weight. Period.

I believe that it's very important to develop an understanding of and a respect for portion control and the law of calorie balance. I also believe it's an important part of nutrition education to learn how many calories are in the foods you eat on a regular basis – including (and perhaps, especially) how many calories are in the foods you eat when you dine at restaurants.

The law of calorie balance says:

To maintain your weight, you must consume the same number of calories you burn. To gain weight, you must consume more calories than you burn. To lose weight, you must consume fewer calories than you burn.

If you only count portions or if you haven't the slightest idea how many calories you're eating, it's a lot more likely that you'll eat more than you realize. (Or you might take in fewer calories than you should, which triggers your body’s "starvation mode" and causes your metabolism to shut down).

So how do you balance practicality and realistic expectations with a nutrition program that gets results? Here's a solution that’s a happy medium between strict calorie counting and just guessing:

Create a menu using an EXCEL spreadsheet or your favorite nutrition software. Crunch all the numbers including calories, protein, carbs and fats. Once you have your daily menu, print it, stick it on your refrigerator (and/or in your daily planner) and you now have an eating "goal" for the day, including a caloric target.

Rather than writing down every calorie one by one from every morsel of food you eat for the rest of your life, create a menu plan you can use as a daily goal and guideline. If you’re really ambitious, keeping a nutrition journal at least one time in your life for at least 4-12 weeks is a great idea and an incredible learning experience, but all you really need to get started on the road to a better body is one good menu on paper. If you get bored eating the same thing every day, you can create multiple menus, or just exchange foods using your primary menu as a template.

Using this meal planning method, you really only need to “count calories” once when you create your menus, not every day, ad infinitum. After you've got a knack for calories from this initial discipline of menu planning, then you can estimate portions in the future and get a pretty good (and more educated) ballpark figure.

So what’s the bottom line? Is it really necessary to count every calorie to lose weight? No. But it IS necessary to eat fewer calories then you burn. Whether you count calories and eat less than you burn, or you don’t count calories and eat less than you burn, the end result is the same – you lose weight. Which would you rather do: Take a wild guess, or increase your chance for success with some simple menu planning? I think the right choice is obvious.

  2. QUESTION:
Does extreme calorie restriction (under 1000 a day) cause rapid weight loss or does it slow the metabolism?
I've seen two conflicting stories about extreme calorie restriction. One says that it causes rapid weight loss, the other that it slows the metabolism and causes an inability or decrease in speed of losing weight. Which is true? Any personal experiences?

    • ANSWER:
well i been on a diet for 9 days now. my calorie intake is 1000-1200 calories. i also was drinking 1 -2 gallons of water a day. i lost 12 pounds in 9 days, but i think it does cause rapid weight loss but for only a short amount of time. but it also depends how active you are. if your are really active then your body is going to need more food to burn for energy. and since you would be eating 1000-1200 calorie like i was its going to use fat. but i suggest have a calorie intake that low take some vitamins as well. because your body wont be getting enough nutrients.

  3. QUESTION:
What is the most effective, low-impact exercise for rapid weight loss?
Due to previous injuries and accompanying aches and pains in my knees and ankles, I need to know which is the most effective low-impact exercise: bicycling or swimming? I prefer swimming as I am aware of it's benefits as a full-body workout, but at the moment I am interested in rapid weight loss.

    • ANSWER:
By low impact here I take it to mean weight bearing... as in.. you want to burn more calories, but don't want to aggravate those injuries.

I'm a huge advocate of bicycling... 1) you can cycle for exceedingly long periods of time at relatively high heart rates and due to the wind (evaporative cooling) you really don't 'feel' how hard you are working.

I've burned 2000 calories in a single ride before.

Secondly, you need to do some strength training. Some real... lifting to failure within a single set, once or twice a week, kinda strength training. Its good for boys and girls. 15-30 minutes a week is all you have to spend. You'll preserve and build your muscles, change your metabolism, etc.. etc... Its not just helpful but necessary for lasting weight loss.. otherwise you catabolize your muscles and its not fun.

      You'll never look back.

  4. QUESTION:
What foods should I eliminate completely from my diet to see rapid weight loss?
I was thinking about a "starch-free" (not all carbs) diet; giving up rice, bread, pasta, baked goods, etc. .. Will I see rapid weight loss resultant from this sort of a diet?

    • ANSWER:
Eliminate fatty foods, such as carbs and sugars. Stick with salads and fruit and vegetables. Heathly and for the most part low in calories. Eliminate sugary drinks such as all types of sodas and juices. Stick with water mostly.

  5. QUESTION:
any ideas on solutions to loose rapid weight loss besides gastric bypass?
i am getting laproscopic gastric bypass surgery but i am finding out its kind of dangerous.any one have any other different ideas for rapid weight loss?

    • ANSWER:
I highly suggest you avoid any surgery. This is something that can be tackled by yourself, without surgery. Your two friends when it comes to weight loss is information and discipline! Think hard about this choice: people can die as a result from this surgery, and even though this is uncommon many more are miserable after regardless. Pick up some dice and have a toss..are you feeling lucky? I suggest you get some information help from professionals first, and then apply discipline yourself. Check out my source if you want help, but avoid that surgery at all costs.

  6. QUESTION:
Rapid weight loss after gallbladder surgery?
Just curious if anyone has experienced rapid weight loss after gallbladder surgery? My wife had her operation on removal of her bile duct from the liver and her gallbladder removed around Christmas. She since has been experiencing pain that does not go away and her doctor has found nothing in the blood tests and or physical. But she complains of pain still, and recently she has noticed she has lost weight a rapid pace.

    Has anyone experienced this?

    • ANSWER:
removal of her bile duct from the liver and her gallbladder

      Are you sure????

Removable of the bile duct? Never heard of that.

When the bladder is removed, the duct from the liver is sewn together with the duct that was attached to the bladder, and feeds directly from the liver to the duct valve at the intestine. The bladder "storage" no longer exists but function is usually normal.

The liver must be able to feed bile to the intestine.

Maybe an X-Ray or MRI is in order.

  9. QUESTION:
What is the most effective exercise/workout program for rapid weight loss?
What videos/exercise programs do you recommend for rapid inch loss?
I also plan to go on a diet to help me get better results.
I'd like to lose inches and tone up as well.
What would help me get great results?

    • ANSWER:
I am 16 and have been obese before but have slim down successfully. I am here to share how to achieve it so read on, it may change your life. IF YOU ARE FRIGHTEN ABOUT HOW LONG THE PASSAGE IS, just read the 2nd and 5th paragraph onwards about mindset and setting a target.

Firstly, you have to have the mindset to lose weight! Without it you would not be as successful. In the past when i am over-weight, I did not care about my body and continued living, thinking that it would be alright growing up fat but society are just as cruel... I did not change until an incident which inspires me to be healthy and look good.
So you need to think of a target and the reasons for you to lose weight. It could be anything like wanting to look good or for health reasons. Anytime you feel like giving up, think of your target and work towards it.

Secondly, food intake should be lesser by 1/5 but eat all your 3 meals. And only eat when you are hungry although there are times when you do not know you are hungry or not(like me, weird stomach) so stick to your meals. Of course, eat healthier food. Details of healthy food or how to make it healthy can be found in the Internet or books.

Thirdly, find a sport or activity that will make you lose weight. Make that activity like your personal habit and do it often. I chose basketball as my friends play it and now i am good at it so make a wise decision of which sport to choose and go for it, no slacking. Surely there would be difficult as you would be in a disadvantage as you would be look down on because of your size. For example, you are playing soccer with your friends and they choose you to be the goalkeeper because of your size. That means you would be standing at the goalpost most of the time- result, no weight loss. Repel! Say that you want to be another position like a striker and make them pay! Go for the ball! Play the game like you would not play it again! Play it with your heart! That way you could take advantage of your desires- result, a lot of weight loss.

I could not go on cause of time limit and laziness, although I still can say a lot. But the mindset thing is already enough, the most important aspect of losing weight is that! REMEMBER, every time when you are about to give up, every time when you are lazy to go out to exercise, every time when you want to eat extra, every time you step into a fast food restaurant AND every time you are tempted to do sometime that you know that would foil your attempt on losing weight, think about your target, about what you have been through for the past years, being look down because of your size. If that is not enough of a reason... Think of your FUTURE, predict. What would you be like when you grow up. Would you get the boyfriend/girlfriend that you are dreaming for? Or someone who you would marry for the sake of marrying. Or do you think you could get a partner that you like just with your character or personality alone? That only happens in fairy tales... The modern world is not that kind nowadays.

So come on! Change yourself! Do your body a favor! Give yourself a chance to make yourself look good. Whenever you feel like losing hope, read this again and think about what you can achieve when you lost every pounds of fats and attain your dream body. That would be enough for you to make the decision to change for yourself.

I ended up typing too much, lol. So all this are from my personal point of view and all comes from experience. Haha, maybe I should be a weight loss counselor or something.
I have lost 20kg from obese(severely overweight) to healthy weight because of the power of the mindset..

If I can do it, so can you...

  16. QUESTION:
Which is better for rapid weight loss/ swim suit season is coming at us fast Elliptical at cardio or treadmill?
Which is better for weight loss, Cardio elliptical or treadmill? Right now Iam doing around 400 to 800. Someone possibly a newbie told me I am wasting my time, what do you guys think? I am now 104. Would like to loose at least 2 more pounds, just got a promotion to head dancer and I would like to make them proud.

    • ANSWER:
Because elliptical trainers DO work the upper and lower body simultaneously, the heart rate climbs more quickly. Thus, less time is required to achieve more results. The amount of energy expended is optimized. As the legs are being worked, the back, shoulders, chest, biceps, and triceps are also working ...making it possible to burn more calories in less time. (An optimal workout need only be about 20-30 minutes long.)
But I prefer the treadmill , thats because im lazy .
Dont take any notice of the spamming ,they are here all the time on this category.

    • ANSWER:
It's bad and also very unrealistic unless you starve yourself to death for a month and eat and drink nothing. aim for losing around 5lbs a month, and you're a hell of a lot likelier to lose it for good. With rapid weight loss, people tend to just snap at some point and start eating either normally (if they've been eating too little) or overeating to make up for all the days of starving themselves..so they not only put the weight back on, they feel like a failure...totally sh*t. So don't go there...

Uh... 1st of all, stop what you're doing. You're going to kill yourself, PLUS you're shutting your metabolism down. PLUS you're 14, and you're going to royally screw up your growth.

2nd of all, when you come off of this suicide diet of yours, you're going to rebound and be heavier than you were to start with.

And to answer your question, after about 1 week, your water weight will be gone and weight loss will stall (add to that the fact that you're metabolism is going to crash and you've got a big ball of dissappointment on the way)

You don't need to diet, BUT if you're going to lose no more than 1-2 lbs a week or you're losing muscle and you're going to gain all the weight back and then some

I have a bet due on January 1st on who loses the most weight. We are both at about 30 pounds over our ideal weight. The other person is a guy. Please give me tips to lose weight fast considering that I am a girl and the weight loss rate may be different.

    • ANSWER:
Use the stairs instead of the elevator whenever you can. Elevators are one hell of a convenience particularly if you have to go up or down some twenty floors. But elevators also make us very lazy. There may be no sense in trudging up some twenty flights of stairs because by the time you get there you will be totally pooped. But while coming down, if you have the time, you can easily come down the stairs instead of using the elevator. Coming down is not at all exhausting. And talking about the time factor, I don’t think that there is much of a difference. Sometimes waiting for an elevator door to open at your floor after you hit the button can take up all of eternity.

  27. QUESTION:
How do "fad diets" or "rapid weight loss diets" work?
I know you usually more or less starve yourself or eat the same low-calorie thing for days, but how would you maintain that?

Would switching back to a HEALTHY diet with plenty of exercise right after keep the weight off?

PS no, I'm not going to try one. I'm just curious.

    • ANSWER:
Well there are different types of Fad diets. The atkins diet for example(which is probably the most famous diet to date) is a diet that consist of only eating protein(mainly meats, poultry, fish and other proteins) and keeping away from Carbs(like rice, grains and so on). People often experience a quick weight loss within the first couple of weeks but unknown to many, the reason for weight loss is not a loss of fat. Instead what is going on is an imbalance of nitric oxide in the body. Eating so much protein creates this imbalance, and this imbalance causes the body to flush out water. So you really are doing nothing but tricking the scale. The weight loss cannot be kept after the diet is done and to top it off a well ran 5 year study showed that the atkins diet and others like it (which restrict carbs and rely on nothing but protein) are actually harmful to your arteries and damage them. Even though Dr. atkins denied that the atkins diet was harmful to his health, Dr. atkins himself suffered multiple heart attacks.

Other rapid weight loss diets usually rely on low calorie consumption, like liquid or all green diets. These diets cause a rapid weight loss as well but they cause the weight loss in a different way then high protein diets do. These diets often times do not have enough protein, and even if they did have enough protein the same type of damage would occur but just at a lesser extent. What happens with these diets is the body does not get enough fuel(calories) and it needs this to survive so it extracts it from the body. But because you are not supplying your body with what it needs in not only takes these calories from fat but also from your muscle. lbs of muscle are usually lost when these diets are done, and even though the scale will show an improvement the mirror may not do the same. The loss in muscle will cause you to look more flabby and less toned. Aside from this muscle increases your metabolism(which is responsible for burning calories) so afterwards your body burns less calories which is why people usually gain the weight back so quickly and just as well gain more then they started off with.

  30. QUESTION:
Should I post my rapid weight loss results on facebook?
I lost 11 pounds in 4 days by 600 calories a day and excerising for 2 hours every day. I want to lose 100 pounds in 3 months. The guy that I'm losing weight for is never on facebook. He knows about 400 people but he only has 10 friends on facebook. It might make me look desparate or slutty right?

    • ANSWER:
well not slutty, but kinda strange in my opinon. If your proud of it and you want to post it go for it, although people probably will say negative things, because you want to lose a very large amount of weight in a short period of time, and the only way to do that would be very unhealthy. But don't make it a point that your posting it for him

  31. QUESTION:
How does rapid weight loss negatively affect your body?
for instance, are there any long term health problems.
What would happen if someone consumed 1000 calories a day?
and lost 10 lbs in 2-3 weeks?

    • ANSWER:
The body might start eating important parts of your body instead of fat. When i was losing weight rapidly my body was actually eating my muscle and certain organs, not my fat. This is because the body goes into starvation mode.

When you start eating normally again your body doesn't gain it in muscle or organs but in fat. So 80% of the time when you lose weight rapidly you actually are going to end up with more fat in the end. That's why many anorexics take years and years and years to get to the skeleton weight they are... its because they gain weight so much more often than they lose weight.

  32. QUESTION:
I'm confused, I thought people who are overweight get diabetes, but rapid weight loss is a symptom?
I think I may be showing some symptoms of diabetes, and as I've been looking into it I saw that weight loss is a symptom, but I'm confused how this is the case when - well from what I've gathered - being overweight or obese can put you at risk for diabetes, and losing weight tends to be an issue for those suffering from diabetes.

    • ANSWER:
Yep -- being overweight is the Number One contributing factor to TYPE 2 Diabetes.

But, the rapid weight loss does not occur until you are SEVERELY diabetic for a LONG time -- like 3-6 MONTHS of having DAILY blood sugar over 500.

The poor use of (or lack of) insulin in the body means that sugar cannot pass form your blood into your cells. Thus, even though you are eating like a horse, your body is actually starving to death!

Eventually, your body starts to digest itself, thus causing the weight loss. But this is a VERy unnatural condition, and when your body digests itself is causes toxic chemicals , called KETONES, to build up in your blood. This will eventually make you blood slightly acidic, and the result is Diabetic Ketoacidosis -- a disease than can be fatal (the acid blood causes heart arrhythmia problems -- similar to a heart attack.

SO, while the weight loss DOES help the body, the WAY you are losing weight is dangerous and even fatal!

There fore, a diabetic MUST lose weight, but it must be done in a controlled manner, so that your kidneys can get rid of the toxic chemicals -- like they would normally.

  33. QUESTION:
What is the best rapid weight loss pill out there?
I've heard of Hydroxycut and a few others, but what would be a good diet pill to take as I prepare to lose 30-50 pounds (with some exercise) before April?

    • ANSWER:
On the news, they said NO pills work without exercise, so we're better using treadmills and doing regular sit-ups! Go figure.

Also, cut fatty foods (french fries, burgers, fast food tacos, soda) and watch out for "Calories from Fat" on labels. Calories are good, but a lot of Cal from Fat is bad. Many foods are available in Low-fat, like chips and ice cream, even TV dinners. Stick to lots of white meat: chicken or turkey. Drink plenty water, eat fruits, and take your vitamin!

Rapid Weight Loss Diet For Belly Piercing?
I want to show it off after I get it, but I really need to lose some pounds first, so I want a Rapid Weight Loss diet, any suggestions that may have worked for you for real?

Please, for the sake of my sanity, don't tell me it's unhealthy. I KNOW THAT. Just please give me a diet that WILL work. Thanks:)

    • ANSWER:
Average weight loss is only 9-15lbs a year, so this is a long term lifestyle issue not a quick fix. You require both an appropriate diet and very regular vigorous exercise.

Unfortunately of all the piercings belly buttons have the poorest record for both acute and chronic persistent infection, so why not just chose another site?

What are the effects of rapid weight loss? As from fasting, etc. Its a Wrestling thing.?
I'm a wrestler and I was wondering what the effects of cutting weight and rapid weight loss are (long term and short term). Also, do "retired" wrestlers that have cut weight regret cutting weight? Many wrestlers would consider cutting weight to be expected, and part of the sport of wrestling, but is it worth it?

    • ANSWER:
Rapid weight loss is not a safe way to lose weight, you lose calcium, protein and most likely muscle tissue. You have to be careful with these procedures, the safest way is exercising harder and cutting your daily servings but while taking vitamins.

      Walking...I'm losing about 2 lbs. a week. Walking is good because you can do lots...I'm 410 lbs. and I kid you not I can walk 2 hours a day....last Sunday I did 3 hours....7.5 miles...that's 750 cals.

As for eating things you don't like, that changes when you eat them regularly...you can get very happy eating things you never thought you liked...it's counter-intuative...welcome to the human brain.

Now I love veggies...it's unreal...I even have to eat them first. It's absolutely CRAZY! (but true).

  49. QUESTION:
Have Any Rapid Weight Loss Secrets? Share Them If You Do?
Im 5'9'' 525lbs and needs some tips. Thrown away caution cause i know the bad things about rapid weight loss. Im already too overweight so i will probaly lose more weight quicker. Also i am not eating any food.

    • ANSWER:
I could tell you how to lose weight, but its none of that "don't eat for a month", "only eat 3 apples a day and nothing else"...that doesn't work because you will lose like 300 pounds...and when you go back to eating, you will gain 400 pounds in less than a year, guaranteed...also, you will suffer less if you change just a little bit of your eating habits...start with eating half of what you eat every day...cut everything in half...give it 1-3 weeks and your stomach will automatically get smaller and smaller, your body will have less space for food, and BOOM weight loss...and since you're heavy, you will lose weight rapidly but please please do it healthily...to lose weight and maintain it, you HAVE to eat...also, trust me, "not eating any food" is easy to say, but try it for 1 week and you will find yourself dizzy all day long...also, when you starve yourself, your body doesn't let go of your calories because it's in starvation mode, so your weight loss will be veeeery slow...small changes make big things...just divide everything in half and you'll see results...and try to avoid candies and unhealthy fats...

  50. QUESTION:
how long before the rapid weight loss in anorexia?
like, how long would it take someone to notice someones lost weight? i know you dont just wake up one morning and become anorexic, but just say u eat 1500 cals a day, and then one day went down to 500.. and kept it this way for a while.. how long till you would notice a weight loss? thanks
    p.s not for me!!

    • ANSWER:
Depends on the person. Bodies are not all the same.

A person with a naturally high-metabolism will start looking very starved and sick quite quickly.

A person with a naturally slow metabolism may show very little change as the body frantically hangs on to whatever calories it can find.

If you're a genetically fat person and you starve yourself, you can end up in the hospital without having ever lost enough weight for people to 'notice' that you were sick. Many people find that their hair falls out and they faint long before they get skinny.

There are no schedules or guarantees. Any program that guarantees everyone will lose X weight in X time is lying to sell you something. People's bodies are different.
