      1.) Diet. Not THAT kind of diet, but one you can actually live with. If you want chocolate, eat it, but not much. If you are hungry but feel like you can't handle the calories, eat something filling but very low in calories. Spinach is a great food for this.

      2.) Exercise will help tremendously. Do what you can, but I recommend at least 30 minutes a day. It doesn't have to be all together, either.

      Nope this won't work actually...

      You need 1,200 calories at the very least because the way the body works is that if you don't eat enough calories your body will go into starvation mode and hold on to every calorie it gets so you won't lose any weight. I just went to a nutritionist and she actually told me that my 1,200 calorie plan was still to low, and suggested i bring it up to 1,800...
      It sounds like good food to eat you just need to up the calories.
      But if you want to lose some weight before a dance the best way to do it is to stick to a good meal plan, cut out salts because you will retain water from that, and drink a ton of water. Same as calories, when you body is not getting enough water it will hang on to whatever you get causing a retention of water weight, which is what you'll be able to shed before the dance.
      I know it sounds strange but drink as much water as you possibly can until the day before the dance.
      Also, 40 mins of decently intense cardio a day. 4 pounds will be gone really quick i promise!

    Ok here is the deal. I was a little over wieght but i didn't look too fat before (it looked more curvy than fat) now i have moved out of my house with my partner and gone on the pill. I just don't want to scare him off, I want to encourage him.

      I'm on herbalife program. So far it's working very good. When i usually wake up in the morning, i get ready, drink two glasses of watter. Drink my shake (breakfast) just before I'm about to leave. Make sure your keeping your eating time same. You dont want to change your eating time each day as this will do more damage than good.
      I usually eat my lunch around 1ish and after an hour later i have an apple. following by a yogurt . Than at 6ish i have my dinner. You could have your dinner whenever you want but make sure you have it 4 hours before you sleep. Normally the earlier, the better.

      There is no quick fix. There are many sensible things you can do that will make a tremendous difference over the long term if you need to lose weight. It can be done in a healthy way. This is what has worked for me.

      Keeping a food journal really does help. It will give you a much better sense of how much you are eating, and when, and why.

      Make a few additional small changes - walk everywhere, always use stairs instead of elevators, walk on escalators, get up and move around at least once an hour if your work or your life in general is sedentary, walk every day, use a pedometer. Walking 10,000 steps a day is a really good idea. Build up to a long brisk walk everyday, or most days. Be more active and watch less TV and spend less time on the computer. Buy one piece of exercise equipment to have at home and be strict with yourself about using it. Sometimes you can find mini-steppers or exercise bikes at second hand stores and thrift stores for just a few dollars.

      Start a weight lifting routine. Join a gym. Possibly you can find one that has someone who specializes in weight lifting programs for beginners.
