Sensa is a tool for weight loss that is based around a food sprinkling called tastents, which give a feeling of fullness and feeling satiated by your meal. The presumption is, if you feel full after a smaller amount of food, you'll have consumed a smaller quantity of calories and it is common knowledge that fewer calories will lead to greater weight loss. The Sensa plan claims to be the result of 25 years of research and has undergone testing in a six month long study. The findings suggested that Sensa as a weight loss aid was 'successful in promoting weight loss'. Read these Reviews to discover more:
How can Sensa Help Me Lose Weight?
The Sensa tool for weight loss consists of spreading tastents over your meal before eating. The science behind Sensa comes from these tastents, in different scents and flavours and are supposed to induce a feeling of being full.
Dangers and Side Effects of Sensa
Sensa, compared with some some of its competitors, does not have a lot of side effects although the side effects it does have, vary from stomach pain, irritating rashes and diarrhea which are all still rather upsetting.
Complaints about Sensa are mostly concerning: Lack of results and Sensa's lack of customer care. It makes you wonder...
Is Sensa a Scam?
Lots of consumers have complained about the disappointing results after using Sensa to slim down. A few experienced losing a few pounds in the first seven days of use but then no weight loss in the following weeks. Other users claimed that they had no weight loss at all and declare that Sensa is a Scam that offers very little value for money.
Learn about a weight loss product that actually works past the 1st week Here.
Additionally, Sensa's customer service team have become a problem. A large number of customers report of being swindled the free trial offered by Sensa which in reality includes an extra product which they bill users for in addition to shipping costs. Sensa's delivery problems are also widely reported, with customers' complaining of atrocious delays even though they were billed for speedy delivery. This late delivery also affects the 'free trial' as the trial starts the day they receive your Sensa order, not on day of delivery. Some customers do not ever receive the product at all or have paid for missing batches. Does sensa work? Maybe, but when hundreds of sensa customers think the marketing practices are a scam it helps them perceive Sensa as a scam.
Customers are also finding it difficult to end their subscriptions to Sensa, and customers continue to receive the product even though they have requested for deliveries to stop.
Conclusion
Sensa is extremely unusual when compared to other weight loss aids on the market and possibly would have proved to be extremely successful... if it actually worked. Unfortunately most people think that this product is a waste of money and that results are almost non-existent. When you team these below par results with the awful rumours about their customer service team and you will be presented with a product which has a severe lack of good points. A definite do-not-buy.

QUESTION:
Confusion about weight loss? How is it possible to have permanent weight loss if dieting slows down metabolism
well, i know that eating less will have the body adjust to the new calorie intake and thus, no further weight loss. So how is it possible to have permanent weight loss if eating less doesn't work? Please give tips and suggestions, people who have sucessfully lost weight. thanks soo much!
-
ANSWER:
The trick of losing weight is to fool your metabolism into thinking it is getting fed normally. If you try to lose weight by starving yourself, then your metabolism kicks in to low gear and hangs on to every scrap you feed yourself, making weight-loss impossible.Plus, after you have managed to starve yourself and not die,the minute you start eating again, your body sucks up every calorie it gets, and you pack the weight back on.
If you want to lose weight, which is a very difficult thing to do,you have to eat proper food:grains;veggies;low-fat meat./fish;drink plenty of water;and do some exercise. It sounds very simple, but it is very hard to do when you are de-toxing your body from fats and sugars.
Ask your doctor for an appropriate food plan for you.Don't use or think of the word"diet." It only serves to defeat you because it implies deprivation. And as humans,we do not like to be deprived of anything.
I might also suggest that you join a weight-loss group, like Overeaters Anonymous,or better still,a group like Weight Watchers.it is easier to lose weight if you are partnered with people who have the same goal as you.
Good luck to you,and eat healthy!!
PS:If you are a young person and need to lose weight:Start now because with every year,it becomes more and more difficult to lose weight and keep it off.Take the word of an old geezer.I know whereof I speak, sadly.

QUESTION:
If weight loss is all about reducing calories and exercising, why not starve yourself?
Everyone seems to say the same thing about weight loss; reduce calories, exercise more. Then why not starve yourself? Then there is NO calories. Wouldn't that make the most sense? Wouldn't the body use up its fat reserves quicker?-
ANSWER:
When they say reduce calories, they're talking about 500 at the most. They aren't saying all of them because there is a reason for that - food gives you energy and keeps you functioning, without consuming calories an individual can get very sick and/or die. Everyone needs to eat. Some people eat too much and gain weight, some people eat too little and lose weight and become anorexic - but nobody should starve themselves. And presuming that person DOES live to start eating again - they'll put all the weight back on.

QUESTION:
What is the best way to speed up weight loss during fasting?
I am aware that weight may be gained back after fasting ceases and that it may be very unhealthy for such quick weight loss, but I really need to know this information. Please, no criticism or instructions towards a "healthy diet".
Thanks.-
ANSWER:
You may want to take mineral supplementation. Fasting is actually healthy and a lot of people do it regularly as a great way to detox, so the implication it wouldn't be shows you have been misinformed and given a bunch of fluff. Assuming you have enough fat stored to burn up as energy, you should know that the only thing stopping your body from using it is the fact it lacks the right nutrients or catalysts to get that process going. Minerals have no calories so you can actually fast while supplementing yourself and you would still be technically fasting.High water consumption during fasting is essential. It takes 20 molecules of water to burn down 1 molecule of fat, that having been said, high water consumption may deplete you of minerals since you will be peeing a lot and again this is where minerals become important again.
Taking some vitamins such as vitamin C which is a known diuretic wouldn't be such a bad idea either. If you supplement yourself well enough chances are you will feel more energized and you will have plenty of energy to exercise and get your metabolism going so you'll burn all the fat, assuming the purpose of the fasting is weight loss.
Hope this helped

QUESTION:
How can I maximize weight loss on atkins?
I know that eating little or no carbs with exercise is the basis of the program, but will eating certain foods give a boost in weight loss? I heard that eating foods high in fat like mayo and avacado can help. Please let me know.-
ANSWER:
Shaun,You should eat balanced for your metabolism. Just before Dr. Adkins untimely death he was beginning to shift his thinking away from an all protein diet. (It's rough on the kidneys.) Balanced nutrition is the key to successful permanent weight loss.
You actually MUST EAT to lose weight. I know it sounds counter intuitive, but it's the way our bodies are designed. When you feed your body the proper nutrition it does miraculous things. I didn't believe it at first either until I was convinced to try it.
Holly cow, it actually worked. I wasn't hungry, my energy came back, I was sleeping like a baby and I lost inches and pounds. It makes no sense because we've been bamboozled.
Here's what you should do immediately. Get yourself some real food and have a decent meal, complete with complex carbs (no white carbs), protein and fat. Yes, I said fat. Did you know your brain needs fat to function? Low fat and no fat is killing people.
Next find out what type your metabolism is. You can do that for free at several sites on the Internet. Or you can Google "easydietforlife diet-assessment" without the quote marks to get to a good one.
Once you do that and know the proportion of carbs, fats and proteins you should be eating get your hands on a copy of “GOING FAT2Lean”. It will simplify it all, give you the simple rules how Mother Nature designed our bodies. You'll learn what to eat, when to eat it and how much to eat. You'll also learn how to motivate yourself and stick with the program, because you will learn this stuff once, but use it for the rest of your life.
So, I hope that this has been worth the read. Let me know how it goes for you. I am certain that once you've been convinced of the truth you'll be saying good bye to pounds and inches forever.
Good Luck,
RICK

QUESTION:
What are your best tips for weight loss success?

ANSWER:
I wish you had posted your present workout plan, but I can give you some tips to get you too the next phase of fitness. If you can do LISS(low intensity steady state), early morning easy walking, even on a treadmill for 40mins on an empty stomach, you will burn fat, while holding onto your LBM(lean body mass), which is the key for you to burning fat. Always remember, if you do cardio and weights correctly, you will hold onto LBM, so you can burn fat. If you do things like run on a day you lift weights, you will burn up muscle, a no no, so always choose LISS early morning and 20mins after weights. If you want to run, or do run intervals, only run on days you don't lift weights.....so again, you hold onto muscle.
For meals, you should be eating 5-6meals per day, protein/carbs/healthy fats(I wonder why you cut out complex carbs?) They are what supports energy building for LBM, along with protein and healthy fats.....so you boost your metabolism all day. You need to have the proper ratios to support LBM. Eat things like lean steak, grilled chicken breast, tuna, 1-yolk with 2 whites, toast, oatmeal, potatoes, cheerios, olive oil lightly drizzeled over your salad, 4 walnuts, danon light yogurt....with these choices, you can form 5-6 small meals or 2 as snacks easily!
If you can eat properly to support LBM, and ignore the scale weight, you will look terrific! The above are some of the rules and tips I use for my clients for success! With all my clients, they learn that the scale moves slowly or not at all, or sometimes they gain, but that is because their muscle to fat ratio is so high, and muscle weighs more, but they lose inches and feel great, and need to buy new clothes!
I hope this helps! Good luck!

What needs to happen is you need to change things up a bit. Some simple things you can try are increasing your exercise intensity levels. Another tip is to change up your diet some. Geez, if you don't want people to give you any "mean answers" you might want to drop the attitude. That person had a good answer for you. How were they supposed to know you were a virgin? There are a whole lot of 13yr olds who aren't. Take it easy. Work on growing out of that defensive thing you've got going on. Sooner than later. It's not going to help you later in life.

QUESTION:
What's a structured weight loss routine for a 15 year old girl?
So I am 15 years old, 5 feet 1 inch, and weight about 135 pounds. I dislocated my knee back in April and have been going to physical therapy, but it isn't much of a workout. I might start going to a gym, but I have no idea on where to start in terms of a proper diet or workout routine for good results. I want to lose at least 2-3 pounds a week, but I'm not sure if this is reasonable. Can anyone with workout/weight loss experience help me out?-
ANSWER:
I am a weight loss expert. I determined your body fat percentage densitometrically based on your age, sex, height and weight. You have a body fat percentage of 49%. I believe since you are inactive you should aim towards 13% because anything lower would be unhealthy.A good way to burn fat is through exercise specifically anabolic. This will increase your metabolism and expel the fats digesting in your system from the foods and other sources. High intensity workouts are beneficial to burn the fat stores.
Since you have a fractured knee I believe any stress you exert onto your body will be intensified along the knee area as it is already inflamed. You can opt for weight loss pills that do the work for you at increasing your metabolism. There are several different kinds of weight loss pills, I suggest that you go through all of them to see which one will work for you. The below site contains detailed accounts of weight loss pills.

QUESTION:
How does being sick cause weight loss even if you dont have a fever?
How does infection cause weight loss? ?
reading up on why im losing weight un intentionally still waiting for the doc though. Starting sunday i ate a lot of food at aparty and didnt gain anything, and its slowly decreasing. not dieting or anything. The infection is somewhere in my urinary tract or gall bladder i believe. It mighit even be an std. Why does infection cause weight loss no matter what you eat?I dont have a fever though. always below 99 and above 98.
i mean i used to eat even something small and gain weight, no mattter what i eat. Now as of sunday the day i woke up really hurting in my pelvis i still eat and drink like normal and i dont gain weight but i lose weight little by little each day. Havnt changed anything.-
ANSWER:
1) Dehydration. Fevers cuz you to evaporate more fluids then normal. During sickness, you body works alot harder to fight the infection and more water is lost.2)Illness is a catabolic state. When you are ill, your body doesn't feel hungry and since you need energy to fight the infection off you start breaking down your energy stores like you muscles and fat.

QUESTION:
Does having stretch marks guarantee saggy skin after weight loss?
I'm 20 years old, so my skin isn't naturally sagging yet. However, over the past 2 years I went from fat to fatter, and got a lot of stretch marks on my belly (and some in other places, but mainly belly).Since my skin has already stretched past its capacity, is there any chance of having properly tight skin without surgery?
I'm male, if it matters.
Also, does weight loss diminish the appearance of stretch marks at all? Or does it have no effect on how fast they fade in colour?
-
ANSWER:
You managed to drop many pounds in a short period of time. Yet, you are not happy with your reflection in a mirror. All fast and large-scale weight loss programs have a common side-effect – the skin doesn’t “keep pace”. The skin treacherously sags exactly where you lost your extra pounds. What can you do about that saggy skin? Click here

QUESTION:
How bad are bananas for weight loss?
I am on a diet to lose weight and I usually stay away from bananas because Ive heard they are not a good fruit for weight loss, mainly because of the high carb content. I usually take a glass of non fat milk daily and today I made a milkshake with a banana and a glass of milk, no sugar. Its only about 200 calories, but had about 45 carbs. Is this bad for weight loss?I eat about 1400 calories a day and do an hour of cardio daily.
-
ANSWER:
It makes me mad that bananas have gotten such a bad rep for weight loss! In reality, bananas are great for weight loss. Though they are slightly higher in calorie and carb content than most fruits (mainly because of their low water content as compared to other fruits), they contain many vital nutrients, including potassium and fiber to keep you full. Your milkshake sounds perfectly healthy, and delicious too! I also like to eat a banana in the morning sliced up in oatmeal or cereal, or have it with a T of natural peanut butter for a healthy, energizing snack.Best of luck

How to get off a weight loss plateau with insulin resistance?
I am on metformin for insulin resistance and have PCOS. I was losing weight steadily for 6 months, and have since hit a one month plateau of no loss (and no gain). I tried increasing vegetables and reducing sugar even more, as well as keeping up with exercise, but it seems to keep me the same and not lose.Any ideas for coming off the plateau? The doctor recommended coming off metformin for 2 weeks and then restarting. Does that work? Any other ideas?

On Metformin as well. I decided to not increase my exercise but rather change the routine. My plateau lasted 5 months and I gained a few of the 80 I lost. So I bought sean T"s Hip Hop ABs . He has it set up so you are constantly changing things up and it is SOOO FUN. # to call for it is 1800 8185174 or go to Beachbody.com. Since I've started I have lost 15 lbs this month. Very exciting! QUESTION:
How can I get people to stop asking me for weight loss advice?
I would love to help my friends, but the thing is, I have no idea how to lose weight the healthy way. My friend know I restrict my diet to 300-400cals a day and exercise like crazy and they should know that its kinda hell-ish. Yet they still think I'm the person to go to for weight loss. How do I convince them otherwise? =/-
ANSWER:
Best practice is to give no advice for legal reasons. Just tell them, you don't do anything special. Then change the subject. This was advice, I received from an attorney. After that, don't worry about helping them. They can find lots of information if they wish to emulate you right on the internet, free. It is doubtful, they would follow your regime, even if you were to detail it. In the event, you ever become a fitness or nutritional counselor, you will want to be sure that there is no liability, and have your clients sign a hold harmless clause. You would also want a million dollar blanket policy and to have your assets protected by forming an LLC or corporation. That's why it is best not to give all these friends direct advice. Refer them to some specialist or nutritionist, or even a company that provides guidance.

QUESTION:
What is the safest & most effective store bought weight loss pill?
I want to try a weight loss pill to help give my work out & diet an extra boost. What is the most effective & safest weight loss pill for women specifically in their 20s? Please no rude comments.. just a straight answer with details & if you used the pill & your results.-
ANSWER:
Allow me to be completely honest, I suffered from obesity all my life, and that forced me to try every store bought weight loss product there was and I never saw any results. There's no quick fix for weight loss, but it doesn't have to be hard either. As long as you find a healthy way of losing weight. I don't know if you pay attention to the labels but most of them say you get results when combined with a healthy diet and exercise. So keep doing what your doing and find a diet that actually helps you lose weight fast.

QUESTION:
I have six weeks of inactivity after a surgical procedure coming up. How can I continue my weight loss ?
I will be able to do nothing at all for two weeks. Following that, no cardio for six to eight weeks. How to ensure continued weight loss?-
ANSWER:
By nothing, do you mean you will be in bed, immobilized? If so, I'd watch my caloric intake only in as much as making sure every bite of food was packed with nutrition and "meaningful" calories. For example, a chicken soup with loads of veggies, an omelet with veggies, fruit and cottage cheese, real oatmeal with cinnamon, steamed, grilled or baked fish, chicken and light veggies, fruit salads, etc.Isometric exercises are a fantastic way to keep building muscle mass while you are relatively immobilized. For example, contracting your biceps a few times to the maximum contraction you can hold can help build or at least maintain muscle mass, which boosts your metabolic rate and helps you trim down.
The Miracle Seven is a good starter book, if you want to check it out. My oldest son went to South America for a month and was able to continue building his upper body following it (of course, he already is a lean and mean 16 year old!)
Good luck with the surgery and best recovery!

How long does it take for weight loss to show?
I was just wondering how long it would take for weight loss to show. I am exercising about twice a day... running for about 25-30 minutes and pilates workout (plant, hundreds, etc.). I am also cutting down on the amount of junk food i eat.. so no more chips or chocolate.-
ANSWER:
it takes only about a month..and you will start to notice a difference.changing your diet to only healthy foods is the best thing you can do and will ensure you will lose weight if combine with walking everyday especially.
you can eat how much you like if you stay within these 3 guidelines and still lose fat naturally and gradually. You should lose 10lbs each month on average.
1.eat only steamed lean meats, eggs, healthy fruits ,vegetables, nuts, grains (Asian basmati or jasmine rice gives lots of energy and can be found at your local oriental/asian market or some super markets), & yogurt..2. drink only water, juice, & milk..3. walk or do some physical exercise 1-3 hour every day.

ANSWER:
Now you are toning your muscles are growing slightly and this is a well known fact that muscles weighs more than fat! Also your diet may affect your weight loss, if you are not eating sensibly and balanced foods.

QUESTION:
How long after you start a new excercise plan before you start to see some weight loss?
I started working out at the gym about a month ago. Prior to that I had no workout routine. I'm 5'2.5" and weigh 145lbs. So I went from no excercise to working out at least 4 times a week, for about an hour to an hour and a half each time. I use the treadmill at an incline, and two different eliptical machines. I know my heart rate is raised; I work up a good sweat by the time I leave! I don't eat fast food, no chips, cookies or candy. I know my calorie intake for the day is about 1500 or less. Well, after a month I still haven't seen any weight loss. I know it takes time but how long before I see even a couple pounds drop?!-
ANSWER:
Well, theoretically you should have started losing weight immediately -- at least within the first two weeks. If this isn't the case, then don't keep doing the same thing hoping that something might change. Chances are, it won't -- or it will be painfully slow.It has to be your diet, your training, your amount of rest, or some combination of these three. I'm not saying you aren't making an effort; obviously, you are. However, something must be off if you aren't losing. If you are doing everything right, then weight loss should occur. I would spend some money on a licensed nutritionist and a certified personal trainer about your difficulties and acquire a program that is suited for you.
Don't frustrate yourself any longer. You should see results, big or small, immediately if you are doing everything right.

QUESTION:
My doctor told me there is no weight loss pills on the market?
I am about 70 lbs over normal weght and when went to my doctor he told me there is no weight loss pills on the market. I am thinkng how can that be? They have medicine for everything! And I am not relying on pills I do diet and excersize, this would just be additonal help.
-
ANSWER:
I highly recommend forgetting about the weight loss pills. This is going to be one of the biggest wastes of your life. It's not that they won't work, because they do, but in the end, you must rely on them. And the moment you start seizing to take them, you will gain your weight back. In fact, you will gain more than you actually lost in the first place. Many people make this mistake, and they wonder how they got there, but actually, it's really not that hard to understand. So just stick with WATCHING WHAT YOU EAT (not exactly DIETING) and exercising and exercising and exercising. I wish you luck with your weight loss! And for the best results, I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND P90X!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This workout is definitely intense, and you need to totally commit if you want such great results. Good luck!!!

QUESTION:
Any ideas roughly how many calories I should be consuming for weight loss?
I'm 22, 5'2" and weigh 125lbs. I'd like to lose 10lbs.Currently I consume no more than 1350 calories per day, in healthy low-carb foods, and am fairly active. I do studio cycling twice a week, aerobics twice a week, swimming on Sundays and a 4 mile walk at least three times a week on top of my usual daily activity.
Does anyone know roughly what my ideal calorie range would be for weight loss, without sending my body into starvation mode?
-
ANSWER:
Below 1500 is already pretty low, even though you're a petite woman and don't need to eat much, you are exercising so I wouldn't go below 1500.If you're not losing weight it may be because your body's metabolism is so healthy that it's resisting any weight fluctuations. Also, many people fail to measure out the correct proportions of food (they think a "serving" is how much they eat in a sitting, when really it's probably a lot smaller than that) so you may be miscounting your calories. Also, people don't count calories in their drinks. Milk, juice, soda, coffee with cream/sugar, etc. all have calories. Make sure you're counting your calories right.
Also, drink LOTS of water for weight loss. Water flushes out the bad from your system, acts as a mild appetite supressent, and has no calories and helps your metabolism burn more calories!

QUESTION:
Will it affect my weight loss if i stop during my run?
I have been running for about a week now, and I show no progress although I sweat a bunch and get really tired. During my run, I get too tired to keep running and I stop. If I run, then stop for about 2 minutes, then run again, will it affect my weight loss?-
ANSWER:
In short, no, it won't affect your weight loss. I would suggest keeping an exercise log and record how long you run each time. Make a goal to improve each run, even if it is by a small amount. If you ran for 2 minutes last time, try to run for 2:30 next time. Here's some things that help me run better:
Hydration: Make sure you are well hydrated before you run.
Food: An hour or so before you run, eat complex carbohydrates to give you energy.A good workout is intervals. For example, run for 30 seconds, then walk for 30 seconds, run for 30, walk for 30, etc. This will help increase your fitness and endurance. Keep persevering and try to improve a little each week. It may take several weeks before you get to the level you want to be at.

QUESTION:
Does anyone have weight loss success story after stopping zoloft? I have put on weight on it despite dieting?
I also exercise regularly. I am convinced it is the Zoloft that has caused the weight gain. Please, I would only like to hear from people with personal experience of weight loss after stopping Zoloft. No diet or exercise advice. I have tried it all!-
ANSWER:
I totally understand what your talking about my mother has been on Zoloft for over a year now and recently she has stopped taking it. My mother has gained close to 30 pounds since she stopped taking it!This has really been a struggle for her since she has never had a weight loss problem!
I too have tried to help her lose weight buy trying diet plans and diet pills.
We recently have got her on a Caloric Restrictor that reduces the amount of calories she takes in. That has helped her lose a few pounds a week. Its a miracle
I dont know if its right for you let me ask you a few questions.
how much weight do you want to lose?
Are you looking to lose weight without having to diet or exercise ?
Are you looking for something to help eliminate random cravings? Or stop overeating?
How fast are you looking to lose weight?
Do you carry most of your weight around the middle?
I understand what your looking for something that can help you lose weight a little faster than diet and exercise. Diet and exercise works but if you need to start losing weight like next week .
Cause you could start using a Caloric restrictor that automatically restricts the amount of calories in your body.
These caloric restictors even work without diet or exercise and even eliminates cravings for foods.
But if you do diet and exercise you will see even better results!I know people who lose 20 pounds in a month.
So you can still eat your regular foods but you'll take in less calories and start losing a few pounds a week. Is that what your looking for?
she is using 2 capsules twice a day before i eat and I notice it reduces my appetite and its helped me burn the fat of my tummy and mainly my middle section.
akavar helps with Stress, metabolism, overeating.
Plus its made with vitamins and herbs. Even if you want some free information on this caloric restrictor check http://www.akavarpills.com
Hope this helps

QUESTION:
Will becoming a vegitarian help tremendously with weight loss?
I am trying to lose some weight, about 30 pounds. I was thinking about becoming a vegetarian for a while. While I am trying to mantain a healthy diet and excercise, will this help? Alsoo...I am worried that when i lose the weight, i will gain it back. Will building muscle help me not gain this weight back? Any other tips on weight loss? Please no advertisements for stupid websites! only legit weight loss websites, if you are going to post them at all. thanks everyone!-
ANSWER:
No being a vegetarian will not help with weight loss. The only thing that helps with weight loss is reducing the amount of calories you eat and increasing your exercise.
I'd say stick to the following overall guideline and foods:
Fruits: (all fruits are good but some are better for making the weight loss process better, so I suggest only eating the following fruits)
apples
oranges/clementines
mangoes
grapefruits
peaches
blueberries (frozen is good too since they're not really in season)
strawberries
banana
kiwis
dried fruit: prunes and apricots
Vegetables (same all are good but for weight loss only stick to these)
sweet potatoes
broccoli
spinach
kale
salad
celery
cucumber
pepper (red, orange, green and yellow)
tomatoes
carrots
cauliflower
cabbage
red cabbage
onions
garlicDairy: (normally low fat is fine but for now only do fat free)
skim milk
fat free yogurt
fat free cottage cheeseProteins: (stick to lean meats and proteins high in Omega 3's which helps w/ stress and helps w/ weight loss too)
salmon
light tuna drained in water
egg whites (the yolk is fine for maintaining weight but for loosing weight try to avoid it)
lean white chicken breast (grilled chicken is good)
smoked turkey breast
hummus
garbanzo beans (high in fiber)
tofu (only fresh tofu)
black beansGrains: (only whole grain- there are many healthy grains but for the purpose of loosing weight stick to these foods)
whole wheat bread
whole wheat English muffins
oatmeal (only Quaker regular/plain)
Kashi whole grain blueberry/original/strawberry flax waffles
Amy's Organic (its a brand) strawberry pop tarts and apple pop tarts
whole wheat hamburger buns (if you choose to have a garden or tofu burger)
low fat quaker granola bars
regular cheerios (you may add honey to it if you need an extra hit of taste)
brown rice (get the kind that is higher in fiber)
whole wheat couscous
lentils and beansFats: (you will need fat in your diet...so stick to these fats)
Olive Oil
Reduced Fat Kraft Mayo
I Can't Believe It's Not Butter
Peanut Butter (natural kind...no Jiff or Skippy)
Almonds
CashewsAnd when you need that hit of "dessert" choose only 1 of the following:
1) homemade fruit and yogurt smoothie
cup of frozen strawberries
cup of frozen vanilla low fat Hagan Daz yogurt
half cup skim milk
in the blender for 2 and half minutes and ENJOY2) homemade apple/cranberry/oatmeal crisp
half cup of uncooked oatmeal
tbsp of I Can't Believe It's Not Butter
1/4 cup of brown sugar
tbsp cinnamon
- put that on the stove and mix and cook together until lightly brownApple
Cranberry Sauce
put sliced apple in a small pan then add cranberry then add the blend
Bake at 350 for 45 minutes and ENJOY!3) purchased Kashi Happy Trail Mix Cookies
Also drink plenty and plenty of water.
Calorie Wise I am not sure b/c I don't how tall you are...But I would guess about 1300 calories a day and work out for 45 5x a week.

QUESTION:
How are you doing on your weight loss journey?
If you are overweight, I want to hear from you about your biggest problems with loosing weight. What is holding you back from achieving your weight loss goals? How does that make you feel? Please NO Dieting Advice or links to your website... don't try to sell me anything... I want to hear from real people with REAL problems. I am studying for a school project. Thank you!-
ANSWER:
I am doing pretty well, thank you.I have been on several diet in the past, but I have always gained the weight back of failed before I reached my goal. This year I got the much needed motivation and determination (especially after I got some not so good blood work back) to finally stick to a diet and I have been successful. I started on the Weight Watchers program in January of this year and I have lost almost 40 pounds so far. This is one of the only diets that has worked for me in a while, I have been on nutrisystem, jenny craig, south beach, but they were just too restrictive for me.
I think what used to hold me back was the willpower and motivation to lose weight. I mean I have always wanted to lose weight, but I never had to drive to do so and it made me quite frustrated at times. I think that getting my blood work results back and well as some comments from some not so modest individuals really served as a catalyst for me this time. Now there are times that I still struggle to continue, especially because I deal with emotional eating, but I just forge forward and think about all the benefits.
One of my favorite quotes that keeps me going is:
"Nothing tastes as good as being healthy feels"
I hope I was some help for you, good luck with the project!
EDIT: I am a 17 year old male if that helps any.

QUESTION:
Where can you advertise a weight loss support group for free?
Where on the internet can you advertise a weight loss support group for free? We are desperately trying to get more members and have no idea where to post it. It's for women only who are serious. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.-
ANSWER:
- myspace.com
- yahoo.com has member groups you can start one upGood luck there are already hundreds of these support groups online (google it) and free but they're all the same. You see the same conversation/ thread:
question: help me i need to lose weight
answer: you can do it (blah blah)
Good luck with this, and if you would post your website after replying to your "best answer", I'll visit & if it's helpful I'll give it a try.
I suggest you start off slowly w/in your community... there must be several people who want to lose weight. Post up signs at the local junior college or YMCA or laundromat or apartment building. If your website is good enough, by word of mouth your website will grow bigger. It'll take time, but it can be done.

QUESTION:
Did Adderall used to be prescribed as a weight loss prescription?
I heard that the prescription drug Adderall (commonly used to treat ADD/ADHD) used to be prescribed as a weight loss medication. I believe this was done in the early 1990s but they no longer prescribe it for that use. Does anyone have a report or story online from a reliable source explaining what I'm talking about? I'm just wondering why it is not used as a weight loss prescription (if it ever, really was). Thanks!-
ANSWER:
Adderall is just amphetamines and dextroamphetamines. Amphetamines were used in the early 1900's for a lot of things (weight-loss among them). After all, you didn't need a prescription up until the 70's to posses or use amphetamines, and housewives along with business men would buy tabs or inhalers to get extra work done, to eat less if they didnt like their weight, and even just as a pick-me-up to deal with the stresses of business or the stresses around the house with the children. The actual pill, "Adderall" I do not believe has ever really been prescribed as a weight loss medication. Adderall itself was pretty much strictly ADD/ADHD or narcolepsy medication, and sometimes used by therapists as an antidepressant if no other meds helped.
My guess is that doctors shy away from prescribing it for weight loss because people who are over-weight generally have heart problems too, or at least it runs in their family. With amphetamines, or any stimulant really, it is really easy to screw up (or rather, increase) your blood pressure and heart rate. I'm swimmer and runner who is prescribed Adderall, and my resting heart rate while asleep (without the meds of course) has been recorded in the hospital as low as 20-32 beats per minute, while awake, just sitting there, in the 60s or lower, but if I took my meds that day, I could be laying awake in bed with a heart rate of near 110+.
Also, there are non-addictive weight-loss medications out there, so doctors will prescribe those more often, seeing as how amphetamines have a high risk/rate of dependency. Plus, there's always the part about how Adderall is becoming a bigger and bigger study drug on college campuses and its becoming more popular with the tweakers and speeders, and its illicit use as a weight-loss medication is also picking up speed. So doctors don't want to contribute to the underground distribution of the medication either.
I think I remember reading about a celebrity (Nicole Richie? among others) using it for weight-loss, and she ended up looking like Skeletor or something akin to him because she became addicted to it from using too high of a dose (she probably didn't even regiment her doses), and became anorexic from its misuse. Which is also, probably yet another reason why doctors don't prescribe it, one of the possible side effects (from its proper use, let alone improper use) is anorexia.I hope you could understand what I was trying to get to, and I hope this helped answer your question.

QUESTION:
Does drinking green tea really help promote weight loss?
I work out 5-6 days a week and also eat right and am about 35lbs into my weight loss goal. Still have about 35lbs to go. I was wondering if green tea really helps with weight loss or is that just one more weight loss claim that has no proof. Can anyone help me out?-
ANSWER:
There is mixed results in science of its weight loss claims, it causes you to urinate more often & so can simply be water loss from the body, there are chemicals in it that aid in speeding metabolism over longer periods of time than say caffeine (which is also found in green tea but in smaller traces) but metabolism is simply one factor in losing weight.
Its overblown as being effective for weight loss, its healthy for you when prepared right no doubt compared to oxidised teas such as black tea. Realistically excercise causes metabolism speed ups too that doesn't requrie green tea, sure is nice to drink though

QUESTION:
How to get rid of skin after weight loss?
I recently lost about ~100lb over the period of two or so years. I've been overweight my entire life, so I naturally have some extra-erm-skin lying around. Unfortunately, this almost defeats the purpose of my weight loss. Whenever I bend over, its like rolls of sagging skin-it's disgusting.
Anyway, I know it's not easy to get rid of, but anything helps at this point. And since I know someone will ask, I lost this weight completely naturally through exercise and dieting-no surgery, drugs, etc. All natural.
Thanks
-
ANSWER:
time can remove it only. I know but weight loss requires pateince. If you get discouraged now and start to gain weight again, then your NEVER going to lose it. Just hang in there and keep up with your exercises and eating habits nad it will go away slowly.

QUESTION:
Which OTC weight loss supplement is the best in your opinion?
I know there are no magic pills for weight loss, but I need something to go along with my diet an excercise. If anybody has used any of those products please tell about your success.-
ANSWER:
Most OTC supplements are useless; a few are even hazardous to user health.Weight loss is really quite simple; there are only two things you need do to reach your goals:
1. Restrict daily calories to 1600 calories per day. By increasing the amount of fruits and vegetables you eat, you will be able to keep your intake at this level without feeling hungry or uncomfortable.
2. Exercise for one hour a day, every single day. It can be anything from pilates to just plain walking, but do it. One hour. Every day.
This is a pretty simple recipe for weight loss, but it works. It has worked for me; I have lost 62 pounds this way. It will work for you if you commit to it and stick to it.
Good luck!

i have tons of stretch marks under my upper arm and
sides of my torso and thigh area.i applied suave cocoa
butter lotion for a couple weeks and no differences.i
heard cocoa butter reduces them.im a teen so i cant afford
much.does it have to do with the fact im still trying to reach my goal weight?
should i try applying after im done with my weight loss journey?-
ANSWER:
Well....Unfortunately some can go away naturally by weightloss
and some may not, I know when I lost my weight much of them faded away, Now unfortunately some on the thighs or between the groin may still be there do to the skin has grown to fast at the time. as far as my arms goes, Yeah some vanished ( but not all of them) they do have solution tht can cause them to go away, some creames ***MAY*** work......but mostly i think getting them injected and or lasered may work as well...It will cost prior to location and where it is done at. I think the more weight loss will tend to lose most of them overall, unless you decide to eat like a pig and let them grow and grow. but just be aware NOT ALL STRETCH MARKS GO AWAY.

Please no lectures.I am in the healthy weight range, I just want to lose about 18lbs. I am eating well, restricting calorie intake and exercising regularly.
But the rate of weight loss is so slow, and I just want something to give me a little extra boost so I can achieve my goal ready for new years.

ANSWER:
Hi Nicole,
the truth is you are doing everything right, eating well, exercise and a positive outlook are the best things you can possess for reaching your target weight. Losing weight is 10% effort and 90% in the mind. Losing weight slowly at a level pace is proven that you will be less likely to pile those pounds back on. Quick fixes damage your positivity and can be damaging to your body. Keep going with the attitude you have now and in no time you'll look a million dollars.

QUESTION:
do weight loss pills only work on people who are overweight?
please no lectures on health- i'm not considering using weight loss pills, i've just been wondering about this.
i thought i said this already : I'm NOT trying to lose weight. I was just curious about how these pills work.-
ANSWER:
Weight loss pill is a generic term. You can lose weight with medication in several ways.1. Increase metabolism (e.g., caffiene, ephedra). Burning more calories than you take in makes you lose weight.
2. Decrease appetite (e.g., fenfluramine). If you don't take in as many calories as you burn, you lose weight.
3. Block absorption (e.g., chitosan). If you can't absorb fat, you will have trouble taking in more calories than you burn.
4. Lose water (e.g., Lasix, diuretics). If you lose water, you lose weight, up to a point. Lose too much water and you get sick.
Losing weight happens when you use more energy to stay alive than you take in through your diet. Weight loss pills that cause this effect by any of the above means will work on anyone.
