      The big three pharmaceuticals would dominate the market.
      Approved or otherwise, none of these weight loss supplements guarantee anything unless you establish a healthy diet and exercise program.
      So why not just establish a healthy diet and exercise program and keep your money?

      The only weight loss supplement I recommend is a basic multivitamin.

      If you have limited time to exercise I'd suggest doing interval training which can be very effective in just 20 minutes if the intensity is hard enough. You can do this in the form of hill sprints or using cardio equipment in a gym if you belong to one. Do this 3 times a week.

      Also incorporate some weight training 2 or 3 days a week, again a 20 minute workout should be enough if it is intense enough. Focus on the larger muscle groups. There's plenty of resources on the internet to help you choose the best exercises.

      Do NOT take diet pills! They are dangerous!!

      Last year I was visiting my parents and took diet pills on top on my exercise routine and normal diet. I was 26 at the time, 5'11, 180 lbs. By week three I was sick. I had diarrhea, dry heaves, dizziness, headaches, and a general feeling of being sick. I thought I had caught the flu or something. I had lost 13 lbs in 4 days. One morning I told my mom I didn't feel good. My vision kept blacking out and I felt (for lack of a better way to say it) stoned. Later that afternoon I was walking from the bathroom to my bedroom (a 5 foot walk) and I passed out. I was rushed to the hospital emergency where they did a bunch of tests on me.

      My pulse was up to 120, My blood pressure was 150/40, they had to start me on an IV, the did an EKG on me, took blood and urine samples, and a whole barrage of other tests.

      They finally got me stabilized and said that I was dehydrated and malnutritioned. I told him that I took diet pills. When I mentioned diet pill, the doctors face lit up and said that's why. He said they can cause a whole bunch of health problems, including death. He told me to toss the diet pills or next time I might not be so lucky.

      I was kept in the hospital for almost 10 hours, given 3 or 4 IVs, potassium, juices, and monitored (by the EKG, blood pressure, and heart rate machines) every 15 minutes.

      Please take my story as a warning. If you seriously want to loose weight there are better ways (I know because I've lost weight after this)

      The quickest way to lose weight is to cut out red meats, starches, breads, sugars, alcohol, and sodas.

      Eat veggies (salads are good), soups, and drink TONS of water. If you get hungry between a meal, drink water to fill up.

      In moderation eat white meats, and fruits (fruits contain natural sugars, and that can put on weight)

      Practice portion control. Yes, you'll feel hungry at first, but think of your goal, and soon your stomach will start shrinking and you won't have that feeling anymore.

      Eat 5 times a day. A small breakfast. A mid-morning snack, such as an apple. A small lunch. A mid-afternoon snack, such as carrots. A lite dinner. Do not eat any later than 7pm (6pm is better.)

      Go exercise for at least an hour - two a day, incorporating weight training along with your cardio. Cardio helps to melt the fat, while weight training builds muscle. Muscle burns fat, even when you are resting. You get the idea. It also gives tone and definition. Also do a few yoga and pilates exercises to help tone those hard to reach and stubborn areas

      I used the acai berry supplements to help me when I needed to lose some weight and it worked quite effectively.

      Now I wasn't overly over weight but I needed/wanted to lose 15 lbs. I'm a busy person and knew that I could only fit in an exercise program 3 times a week where I would jog 3miles. 3 Miles of jogging/walking only equals about 400-500 calories burned, this is great, but my biggest vice is my mid afternoon snacking habit, so that 3pm bag of doritios could easily blow my jogging plans to help me lose weight, so I needed something to help me.

      The only way to do this is to do lots of cardio, eat right and have a caloric deficit in your diet every day. You lose weight from the working out and you lose weight from eating less.

      You need to eat the right things however. Stop eating junk food, sweets, sugar soda, fried foods and anything really bad for you. Eat quality protein, lots of veggies especially the green leafy kind, drink lots of water and get enough sleep every night.

      Try not to eat anything 3 hours before you go to sleep.

    my lifetime goal is to be in the US Air Force but i'm having a delay like most others trying to get in, weight.       I was about as much as you are overweight when I tried to get in. I changed my eating habits, ran and did exercises everyday. My food consisted of an apple and a whole wheat piece of toast with honey on it instead of butter. For lunch I ate canned tuna in water with wheat saltine crackers, for dinner I ate either chicken or pork and any dark green vegetable. The big key is serving size. When you start actually eating a serving size, you will realize how much you were over eating. I lost all my weight in bout 4 months. Another way to help lose weight are Metformin meds.       Hi, I'm a qualified personal trainer so have experience with nutrition.
      A lot of people with advocate protein shakes and I used to use them myself. First off, they are only a substitute for protein, no extra muscle building qualities. They are convenient,easy and cheap in relation to how much you would have to spend to get the same amount of protein from natural sources.
      So, some advantages for you there but if you are serious about trying to build some good quality muscle lets consider that good old phrase "you are what you eat". The quality of the food you put into yourself will determine the quality of your health, performance, strength and quality of muscle. Protein shakes are artificial, not natural, and not actually recognised by the body incredibly well. So ask yourself, do you want to build muscle using this artificial protein or some really good quality protein you can get from natural meats, nuts, milk, fish etc. Obviously I would advocate the latter.
      Furthermore, protein goes hand in hand with fat. Currently we have this society that thinks fat is the devil. Now I'm not saying fill your body with fat, I'm saying make sure you don't hit a low fat diet and fat has really good qualities, to name a few:
      It helps your body absorb protein
      It is involved massively in creating hormones, which are really really important when trying to build muscle.
      Finally, your body can only absorb around 30g of protein at any one time, many protein shakes contain more than this in one serving and you don't need that much.
      So, to summarise: Protein shakes, big NO NO, I have personally seen much better results through natural proteins and a good intake of fat. If you want to build muscle you want to intake about 1.5g protein per kg of body weight. Buy some good quality meats such as beef, lamb, dairy, fish, nuts, seeds and chicken and use these instead of protein. No it isn't as convenient or easy but if you are serious about it then surely its worth the extra effort?

    I get most of the fat storage in the waist/hips (more of less hips...on the sides) and my chest.     Workout for 25-30 mins

    Walk 2 miles every other day and usually 20 mins workout

    Dinner- no supplements

    Advice needed on stepping out of a closet meth addiction without jeopardizing my job anymore?
    So I have been torn apart by a secret addiction to meth that I just realized has been now 10 months running... I don't need to go into details of what its done to my life, the stories are all the same. Luckily other then the extreme loss of weight, I still appear to be healthy to those around me. This addiction started only two months after a major promotion at work came about for me, and quite obviously I have not maintained my 'a-game' if you will for almost the entirety of my management career. Things go really rough for me nearly two months ago, I didn't have a handle on anything inside or outside of work and in turn became the epitome of a 'basket-case'. To my defense I know through various sources that I actually was far succeeding expectations, however these areas were others then the area I'm supposed to be managing. Long story short, I was out of work for about a month and a half while I was under doctors observation for a medical condition (unrelated) and also to distress and attempt to pump the breaks and make the world stop spinning...

    So in my time away from work I was able to sort out, clean, organize (obviously on all) any possessions or belongings in my house. I also started reconnecting with family members which was much needed, and broke out of an amazing relationship that went sour due to the extremist religious practices by one parties family. On top all the good things, I even cut back my use and really tough myself how to in a weird way work the addiction into my life (not realistic). So here is my dilemma:

    I return to work next week, and I still want to kick this nasty habit but I have run out of time where I will be free of obligations. My fear is the fact of sleeping too often, too long, mood swings, all that fun stuff. I need to know if its possible to ween myself off like it appears that I have since the early days, and that has always in the past proven to be the most effective way for me.... until I find something new and interesting like this to start all over! Is there any practices, foods, supplements, or activities that can make my transition to being human again a bit smoother? My psychologist is unaware of the events that have taken place and has prescribed my back on to Adderal for ADHD. I know it sounds alarming like I'm getting myself into something deeper, but I was prescribed it throughout grades 4-12 and so on but 14 years in total. So me, the once honor student, said to be 'sharp' kid has been into illegal drug interactions three times prior; all of which proceeded very shortly after I discontinued my use of the prescription(which currently I am off of). Is the fact that it is amphetamine possibly going to help me through this or not? It has been the ONLY substances that I am incapable of abusing. Never tried to, never wanted to, been asked to plenty of time, and not once did I ever.
