  8. QUESTION:
has anyone tried the Medical Weight Loss Centers?
I do not know if the Medical Weight Loss Centers are in any other states, but in Michigan they have what is called Medical Weight Loss Centers. They are always advertising on television and in the paper, was wondering if anyone has used them and if so what were the results?

    • ANSWER:
Yes! It's pretty expensive, but it's worth every penny! I lost about 25 lbs. in 2 months. I fallowed it really good, but towards the end I started cheating a little. It's really a good program. I've never been able to keep myself motivated enough to lose more than 5 lbs at a time. You're pretty much guarenteed to lose the amount of weight you want, as long as your fallow the program. When you go in they tell you exactly how much weight you will be able to lose and they tell you the exact amount of time you can lose it in. The diet wasn't very hard for me once i got started. They tell you to try and exercise daily, I don't think I exercised once the entire time, but I know you'd lose a lot faster if you did! There is a 6 week "stabilization" that you fallow after you hit your goal weight, It helps you add foods into your diet so you can maintain your goal weight. I didn't do the stabilization yet because i'm trying to lose a little more before i try to stabilize, but I went off of the diet for about a month, eating pretty badly, and only gained 1.5 lbs! I would definitly recommend this diet to anyone! It is expensive to buy the nutrients, but they go on sale usually about once a month. I buy mine online at diet direct.

      GOOD LUCK! =]

  9. QUESTION:
Medical Weight Loss Centers...does it work without the nutrients?
I am going to the Medical Weight Loss Center (Michigan based center, that's the name of it) and I'm wondering if anyone has tried it without using their nutrients? Or perhaps have tried an alternative to the nutrients they provide? I can't really afford them, but I want to give the diet a try.

    • ANSWER:
Be happy with your weight! You should be glad that you're not as skinny as I am. And as a bonus, fat keeps you warm, especially during the cold Michigan winters. I would do anything for my weight and the warmth that comes with it!

So don't do it or else you may end up regretting it!

Good luck with whatever you choose.

  10. QUESTION:
How much does Synergy medical weight loss cost?

  14. QUESTION:
Does the medical weight loss help you loose weight?
Hey im 11 and im just wondering if medical weight loss actually works.
    Answers that help are appreciated

    • ANSWER:
lol you are supposed to be 13 to have an account lol. (I don't really care though)

There are many different types of weight loss surgeries, some are more effective than others, though all of them should work as long as you follow the diet your doctor makes out for you.

Some put a band around a portion of the stomach, preventing you from being able to eat as much at one time.

Some actually remove a portion of the stomach.

Some remove some of the stomach and also remove a section of the small intestines (that is where the food is absorbed into the body. If it is shorter then you won't absorb as much)

If you weren't talking about medical weight loss surgery then I'm sorry I missunderstood.

If you were talking about diet pills, then I can tell you that they are a waste of money and are bad for you.

  17. QUESTION:
any good substitutes for the Medical Weight Loss Program vitamine pills? or the nutrients they sell?
I just joined the program a week and a half ago and they keep telling me that I will lose more weight quickly if I take the vitamines and nutrients they sell. Well, money is tight and cant afford the price they ask for those things. I just wanted to know if there were other over the counter nutrients that I could take that would be cheaper or a website that shows some substitutes for the "extras" they sell at the office. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    • ANSWER:
I used their services back in August and unfortunately spent more money than I should have on the nutrients. I then found out that many online companies sell the same stuff (under a different name of course) for around /box. Try www.dietdirect.com or www.nashuanutrition.com. They will even ship it for free if you order enough stuff. Good luck, and just for the record it does work if you stick to it!

  19. QUESTION:
Does Medical Weight Loss Clinic in MI actually work?
Hi, I was wondering if this program actually works. I'm willing to pay the money if it actually helps me lose weight. Im looking to lose about 40lbs before I go on vacation to Hawaii next May. If you've used this program, how much weight did you lose, and was it a difficult plan? Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
If you read the book "Rethinking Thin" by Gina Kolata, you will realize that none of the popular diet programs have been successful for the vast majority of people, even those who are highly motivated.

Even calorie restricted medically supervised weight loss programs have dismal success rates over the long-run. I tried the most popular diet programs and my weight rebounded like silly putty. Money corrupts medical institutions. If they were honest with their clients, no one would sign up.

Eventually, I discovered that I didn't need to pay someone else to lose weight. I lost 90 pounds by simply changing my dietary lifestyle permanently. I eat a whole plant based diet that is devoid of all forms of refined ingredients, especially refined oil and refined sugar.

For details, read Dr. Dean Ornish, Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, Jr.

  20. QUESTION:
How much money does it cost to do the Pro-Teen plan at The Medical Weight Loss Center?
I really want to loose 25lbs. It should take about 8 weeks.I'm affraid it might be too much money. So tell me if you know what the price will be about.PLEASE HELP ME!!!

    • ANSWER:
      Hi,
I don't know the price. I would suggest you research the glycemic index. Lowering your blood sugar by controlling the foods you eat, only eating foods low on the glycemic index, will result in weight loss. And it also avoids the risk of anorexia. Just eat until you are full, but eat low- no sugar foods.

  22. QUESTION:
Does anyone know what the cleanse is at Medical Weight Loss Clinic?
I heard it is a 3 day cleanse.

    • ANSWER:
I have been through it all and know what's it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can't be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I've worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.

Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.

First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can't eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising...

This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it's good for the heart.

However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It's so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I've found a great addition to help any one out, it's a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don't get all crazy on me and say diet pills don't work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn't meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It's an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace. com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it's the best pill I've tried and I've tried cupboards full. Now this doesn't mean you have to follow my foot steps but I've successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.

Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.

  23. QUESTION:
Are you a present or former Medical Weight Loss Clinic customer?
If so, do you know the kind of multivitamins they use/sell? I am a former customer and love them! I know they purchase their products from different manufacturers and slap a MWLC label on it. Yes, I can keep buying them at the clinic, but it's more expensive...

All I know is that they are pink-ish with a line stamped on one side :) And they don't turn your urine bright yellow! That's why I like them. lol.

    • ANSWER:
I know that they offer the B-12 vitamin shot. That works great

  24. QUESTION:
Medical Weight Loss Clinic in Michigan?
Does anybody have any experience with Medical Weight Loss Clinic in Michigan? Did it work? Was it expensive?

    • ANSWER:
I just went to the clinic because they are offering per pound and I thought that sounded like a great deal.
In actuality, you have to pay 5 for a physical and lab work, per pound you lose, and around a WEEK for protein enhanced food supplements (even though their website says you don't need to buy special food). The cost was too much for me, so I didn't do it. I really wanted to and asked if I could join and have them help me with the foods I would buy at a grocery store and help me with a work-out routine, but they said without buying the expensive protein enhanced "snacks" I wouldn't lose weight (which I do not believe). I'm not sure what I am going to do about getting in shape, but I'm not going to go to MWLC. Good luck to you!

  25. QUESTION:
Has anyone went to medical weight loss center?
Was thinking of going. Ineed to lose weight and was wondering if it was worth the money. If not is weight watchers better?

    • ANSWER:
I went to LA Weightloss. I did very well on the program. It is on the expensive side but well worth it for me. I was able to eat regular food--just in moderation. I was committed to the program. They put you on a three part course--weight loss, stabilization, and maintenance.

You record your meals in a book. They will sit down and talk with you about your success or plateaus and help you.

  26. QUESTION:
Has anyone ever been to MIDWEST MEDICAL WEIGHT LOSS CLINIC in Joliet, IL?
I'm wondering what they charge and if they write scripts for phedermine. When you call you just get a recording and I don't see any details on their website. Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
Weight loss became a nightmare for me until I checked out acai berry. I realize they say that pills do not work, but they certainly worked for me, and they have been featured on the Rachael Ray Show too. There's a free trial going on currently at http://leping.thefatburn.info , why not check it out, what is the worst that could happen?

  27. QUESTION:
Does the Medical Weight Loss Clinic work?
Does it ACTUALLY work? Or are the "before and after" photos fake? Are the stories scripted? I really need to know before I spend money on this.

    So...

Should I or should I not?

    • ANSWER:
Well, it is much safer and better if you go to a weight loss clinic. Since it has medical professionals who spent years and years of studying and researching to be able to help/assist us in losing weight. Medical professionals are people that are credible and know exactly how are body works. In that way, we can avoid things that can be harmful for our body.

  30. QUESTION:
Has anyone sign up for the Medical Weight Loss Clinic in Michigan?
I was just wondering if anyone has went on this program and if so what results did you have?

    • ANSWER:
Many patients ask me how they can slim down. I am against prescription pills because I prescribed them many years ago, and some of my patients became very ill.

I now recommend that people eat right and exercise. However, if they would like a little "help", I now recommend Hoodia (it's important to note that not all Hoodia works well, even if the bottle says "pure" or "standard".

The Hoodia being sold at http://www.alllsite.info/free-diet-pills.php is in my opinion, the best product on the market. It's pure, no side effects, and it's only .97 for 2 weeks (yes, less than !). My patients have seen dramatic results with this particular Hoodia.

Is medical weight loss clinic expensive and does it work?

    • ANSWER:
It can be very expensive. Medical weight loss refers to surgery. There are several types, like gastric bypass, lap band procedures, where they put a band around your stomach.
They do work for many people, but it's a rough road to drive. Do a lot of research online and ask lots of questions before you choose this option.
Have you tried doing it by eating less and exercising more?

    • ANSWER:
Weight loss should be covered under medical if the cause of the excess weight is a medical issue. Most overweight is not caused by a medical condition. It is caused by eating too much food, refusal to eat less and exercise more. Eating less food costs less money.

    Thanks

    • ANSWER:
I am hypothyroid due to radioactive treatment. I tried diet pills in the past and they helped a little but i gained the weight back. The only thing that has helped me lose and keep the weight off is making sure that the doctors do regular blood test so that my meds will stay adjusted. I work out at least 1 hour a day (5-6) days a week. I lift weights 2-3 days a week and I follow a very low carb diet.Doing these things I have lost 30pounds in 5 months. 39. QUESTION:
    Medical Weight Loss?
I would love to hear from anyone who has had experience (good and bad) following a medical weight loss program (either thru a physicician or some sort of clinic (like Lindora in southern california)). I have about 50 lbs to lose and am frustrated by my inability to do so. I've tried anything and everything and it'll work for a little while and then I'll gain it back (sound familiar to anyone?). I guess I just haven't found "the program" that will work for me. Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
You could try asking you doctor for phentermine which is speed, and IT DOES WORK! Or a more expensive medicine is xenical, which is a fat blocker, and it cost about 0 bucks for a one month supply. Today wal-mart just had Alli hit the shelves.. This is a low dose xenical. IT IS GUARNTEED TO WORK

  40. QUESTION:
The Center for Medical Weight Loss?
Has anyone tried The Center for Medical Weight Loss? If so, please tell me the pros, cons and price. Thanks :-)

    • ANSWER:
I've not heard of this clinic but I used to work at HMR as a stock girl. They had some awesome results and a medically supervised section. The people at my clinic were really nice. Usually the medically supervised participants were morbidly obese. But not everyone was by all means.

I know its not the clinic you were looking at but it is another option . Sorry.

  41. QUESTION:
    Medical Weight Loss Clinic?
So I'm going to Medical Weight Loss Clinic because I want to lose 60 pounds. What's it like? Did it work for you if you went?

    • ANSWER:
Yes, the program really works! I have been able to keep off in excess of 70 pounds for over 4 years. If you are truly serious about losing weight and follow their program as directed you will lose the weight.

They have all kinds of programs to offer. They even have programs for individuals with health issues like diabetes too. Be sure to explore all programs offered.

I wanted to lose the weight quickly and needed a program that didn't have me cooking all my meals. I have an extremely busy life style and not alot of time to cook during the week. I found the Jump Start program worked best for my lifestyle. I love their products and felt they satisfied my cravings for sweets and chocolate. I also liked the fact that the program allows me to eat regular foods too. You can still eat bread, fruits, veggies, chicken, fish and even red meat. Eggs and cottage cheese are even permitted on the Jump Start program.

I love to cook and I love to eat! I never felt deprived. The key is to make sure you eat every 2-3 hours. I have to be honest with you, this is the only program that has worked for me. I have been on all the other ones out there. I have referred probably over dozen people over the past 4 years and all have been successful.

Best Wishes to you. Stay focused and remember there is light at the end of the tunnel. You can do it!

  45. QUESTION:
Is there a medical conditioin that leads to weight loss?
I eat alot. I used to keep at a steady weight. But I eat the same amount of food or more and I keep on losing more weight by the week. It is scaring me because I'm getting to 100 and I used to keep a steady weight about 120-25? Can any help me answer if there is a medical condition that leads to this weight loss?

    • ANSWER:
The key lies in the specific combinations of different food groups and patterns of the food you eat. By eating one food before another, or with another, you can increase your calorie burn rate by up to 113%. (That's how you can eat up to 3,000 calories and burn 3,500 or more.)

Put simply, by eating mostly what you're eating now - but re-arranging your food into different combinations and patterns, you'll reach your ideal weight in record time - and safely too. (As any reputable physician will advise you: too rapid weight loss is risky and a major cause of gall-stones.)

Just by altering and re-arranging your food into different combinations and patterns, you achieve 24/7 Calorie burning, effortlessly -- safely melting away your excess fat.

  46. QUESTION:
Does Medical Weight loss clinic work?
Im not sure if it is in every state but in michigan you know the commercial.

    • ANSWER:
Yes It worked - and it was wonderful - It does take a lot of discipline but you see the weight coming off and it makes you feel soooo good- The nutrients they sell ( I think thats how they make their money) are what gets you going and fill in where you miss food.
I used to weigh 149 when I went on it - and I weighed 116 when I was done - I did it in 4 months and it stayed off for a while- Of course if you dont make your diet a habit, you will gain the weight back slowly- I weigh 135 now ( 7 years later).
You should try it - Good luck

  48. QUESTION:
    Unicorn Medical Weight Loss?
If you have done the medical weight loss program at unicorn or somewhere similar, do you mind answering the following questions:
How did the drugs effect you?
    What were your results?
How fast did you achieve those results?

The reason I'm asking is because I'm going to start the program in two weeks and I want to know your results. You pay by the month, so I want to know how many months I should plan on doing this, but I know it's different for everyone, but trying to get an idea. Oh and I want to lose about 70-75 pounds! I know it is a huge number and I cant wait till it's off! haha

Thanks for answers (please no rude comments)

My unicorn went on this weight loss programme and it became anorexic as a result. The lack of body fat made it's horn fall off.

      I hope you're happy.

  49. QUESTION:
Will my insurance cover a medical weight-loss program if?
I just had a reconstructive foot and ankle surgery where my recent weight gain is causing me pain and discomfort.

You see I was born with a deformed foot that was causing me chronic pain, and debilitating my way of life for more than about a year I could not walk for more than 10min at a time, I gave it more time and was not getting better; I could not function normally or exercise at all. I became very depressed and that didn't help in me putting on about 40lbs in the past 2years and all the weight is now bothering me so much more with my needing to heal from surgery I now have and anchor and titanium implants and I feel that if I get the weight off It will help tremendously.

Also I've never needed to lose this much weight and I've been trying to eat healthier, but without being able to do all that cardio that I used to do to keep in shape. I'm just lost. I know I can do sit ups and stuff like that, but I really want to start a medical weight loss program to help my body and mind; unfortunately the recent cost of my medical bills due to this surgery is not helping my financial situation. also I am on state disability because I am in to much pain to return to work.
So if I can get my Orthopedic Surgeon to vouch for me will my insurance pay for it??

    • ANSWER:
Contact your insurance company, they deem it medically necessary and you can show you have been trying to lose weight for a certain amount of years, they may cover a portion of it.

Only your insurer can answer this; a bunch of well-intentioned strangers on the web aren't the best source for this information.
