For years and years, a majority of women have turned to LA Weight Loss to do away with their excess pounds. This staple for the dieting community has stood the test of time for a lot of reasons. Though some have criticized about their services, many have sung their praises as well. It is essential to take a personal inventory before even entering LA Weight Loss in the first place. This will make the distinction between your singing their praises and filing a complaint with the management.
The first thing you have to think about in your personal inventory is why you are looking to LA Weight Loss for your dieting needs. We all know the basics of weight loss. Its all about eating less and exercising more that will lead to your shedding pounds while eating more and exercising less will result in your weight gain. If we know this general rule, why do we look to LA Weight Loss for help?
Some may need the support that only a service like this can offer. Sure it is easy to know the general rule of dieting but it is seemingly impossible to track it. For those joining an organization like LA Weight Loss will assist you stay on track. On the other hand, if you are joining to get a quick-fix for your weight problem, you have certainly gone to the wrong place.
One of the critics of LA Weight Loss is a close friend of mine who lamented, “Oh yeah, I gave them a bunch of money and they told be to put myself on a diet.” She was enraged that there was not more to the system than consultations, menus, counseling and supplements. Whilst I can understand that she felt as though she was paying for nothing, I think that she was simply expecting a bit too much. It appears as if my friend wanted LA Weight Loss to shed the extra pounds for her. She didn’t expect to have to put any sweat into her dieting success. This view was not only harmful to her relationship with the organization but also it was detrimental to her dieting goals. She was unsuccessful at her diet because she was not willing to put forth any energy or time into the program. She expected LA Weight Loss to do this for her.
Remember losing weight is not a inert activity. It takes determination and drive. One must bear in mind that by simply joining a group like LA Weight Loss will not guarantee success. It is a collaborative effort. The staff is dedicated to their clients. The clients need to be committed as well.

QUESTION:
I need to find the diet for LA weight loss?
I would like to do the LA weight loss plan but can't afford it. I need to loss weight and was told this was the diet to do. But its expensive and I am a on a limited income.-
ANSWER:
there's nothing special about LA weight loss. It's simply burning off more calories than you eat in a day...all diets are based on this...even if they say they're not. And...like any smart weight management program, they tell you it just won't work if you don't exercise everyday. LAWL is mainly for those who want to pay someone else to write out a grocery list for them. They tell me that their menus are everyday foods from the grocery store, not some exotic concoction that takes hours each day to prepare. That said.. Try 1200 to 1500 calories a day and 30 to 40 minutes of sweat everyday. that should have you losing 1 to 2 pounds a week (just like LA)_and I won't charge you a thing for this advice...how can you go wrong?...lol good luck

QUESTION:
Why is plateauing so difficult to over come in weight loss?
I have been going to the gym Mon-Fri twice a day burning usually 610 Calories at lunch and around 360 in the afternoon, I do not eat out or hardly any junk food but I have been the same weight for 4 months. Why? I have tried that LA Weight Loss, big waste of money!-
ANSWER:
Don't worry about it too much, hitting a plateau happens to nearly everyone on a exercise routine, even the top athletes.I would say your body and your metabolism have both adjusted to your eating/workout routine. You may need to change things up a bit, like add a few extra exercise routines, cut back on a few extra calories etc.
The following book has some great suggestions about how to get over the plateau. Hope this helps.
Good luck and all the best with your weight loss goals

QUESTION:
Anyone gone through LA Weight Loss and can help me?
Can anyone tell me about their experience with LA Weight Loss?I'm very interested in signing up, but I'd like some reassurance from clients.
-
ANSWER:
I have not been through the program myself, but a friend and her husband went through the program a couple years ago. From what I could tell, it was a huge committment. That being said, they lost 90 lbs and 70 lbs. They have gained most of that weight back, unfortunately. It was just too much restrictions for them. I think that it really is a lifestyle change that you have to be prepared for. There were weekly weigh in sessions and you meet with a counselor. LA Weight Loss has their own vitamins and supplements that you buy which is separate and apart from the program cost; they have their own snack bars that are part of the program-again, an extra charge. It's pretty much a necessity because the bars are calculated into your daily allotment of food.
Also, you have to do some meal planning. Like eating red meat only twice a week, and 3 days a part. (that's about the only one that I remember).
I think that you eat 6 small meals throughout the day.
I've heard that Weight Watchers is more effective because you have a lot more control over your meals and planning. You have a booklet that will help you calculate how many points you have eaten and how many you have left for the day.

QUESTION:
La weight loss menu plan and weekly amount you spend ay the store?
I am going to join La weight loss on the first on oct. I am hoping someone will be able to share menu plan with me until then. Also i am wondering about how much you spend per week at the grocery store for food. Also i want to hear your success stories and experiences good and bad. And also i would like info on there supplements and the la lites like how much are in a box and how quickly you go thru it and how much it is per box! thanks so much-
ANSWER:
Hi, Freash heathy food like fruits and veg's cost alot less than potato chips and fast meals. So grocery shopping is a little cheaper....just takes time to get used to shopping heathy by starting your shopping in the produce section first.
My mother is in the La weight loss programe and has lost 35 pounds since April. I am not in the LA weight loss mainly because I can't afford it but I am fallowing her eating habbits and have lost 25lb's since May
La I have found is about changeing your eating habbits to healthy choices. eg 1/2 salt opose to reg salt...light yogurts..high fiber food like brown rice...making serving sizes smaller. eat 3 small meals a day with small snack morning and afternoon.
My downfalls were...never drinking water..always drinking coffee.. fast food..eating late...fries..chips snacking while watching tv. I don't do any of this anymore..just once in a blue moon.
In my mother La center there is a women that my mother meet while in the program...this women used to weight close to 300lb's...she is now under 130lbs and is trim and fit.
So La does work....there is more of a large cost in joining then there is in changeing your food eating habbit when buying grocerys.
Hope this was helpful

QUESTION:
What is the new la weight loss rapid results program all about?-
ANSWER:
I advocate a low carb way of eating to balance the body to a healthy state. I know that you can lose more body fat eating protein and fat (don't eat protein alone) than not eating AT ALL. To lose weight fast eat all you want but nothing but meat, eggs, healthy oils, mayo, butter and half an avocado a day (you'll need added potassium). Keep your fat percentage high, at least 65% of calories. Adding in green vegetables & some cheese will continue weight loss but at a slower pace.If you starve yourself, your body will freak out and will want to store every ounce in case it doesn't get nourished again. You need to give it adequate nourishment so it doesn't slow your metabolism down to adjust for lower calories.
Simple carbohydrates (sugar, flour, bread, cereal, pasta, potatoes, rice) triggers insulin which can store the calories you eat into fat. The more protein you eat the more the fat burning hormone glucagon is released. The more carbohydrate you eat the more the fat storage hormone insulin is released.
Carbs are addictive and can be disastrous to our health. The best way to break the addiction is NO carbs for 3 days. Make a huge batch of deviled eggs and eat one every time you want "something" have huge omelets for breakfast, with bacon, a lil onion, peppers, mushrooms & cheese. Pork chops for lunch. Get pork rinds and eat them with tuna salad. Steak for dinner. Make a huge sugar free cheese cake for dessert. Eat so much you won't feel deprived of anything. By the fourth day, your addiction will be gone and you can start making healthy choices.
High insulin levels unbalance other hormones. Controlling your insulin level will balance out other hormones & allow human growth hormone (HGH) to be produced naturally so you will gain lean muscle even without exercise. Any exercise will greatly increase your muscle mass with high HGH levels.
Reducing body fat and increasing muscle mass will have you in awesome shape in no time. Good luck!

QUESTION:
Does anyone know of a replacement drink for Fast Forward La Weight loss Drink?
I have used The L.A. weight loss drink Take Off/fast Forward and I want to know if anyone knows of a cheap substitution drink I can find in the supermarket or health food store. I have tried e-bay and they often run higher than L.A. weight loss.-
ANSWER:
i did what quick research i could online about the product. it seems to me like it is nothing more than glorified juice concentrate. it has fiber and several vitamins added to it. it also has HCA, a fat burner supplement added to it. in my opinion, you should already be taking a daily multi vitamin every day, and if you are following a decent meal plan every day, you should be getting enough fiber in your diet (vegetables).. as for fat burning supplements, i am not a huge fan of them, i believe there is a time and place for them but 99% of the people looking to lose weight can do so efficiently without these fat burners. regular fruit juice is ok to drink in moderation but they do contain alot of sugars, therefore you need to be careful of how much you drink every day. that is why you hear so much about drinking water. you need to stay hydrated and water doesnt contain any calories like juice. you are better served to eat whole fruit rather than juices if you like to eat fruit every day.

QUESTION:
Can anyone tell me how LA Weight Loss works?
I want to know the costs, what their plan is, and any other advice about it please?
I already know bout Jenni Craig and Weight Watchers, so please nothing about them.

ANSWER:
They are all basically the same thing. It is all about setting up a healthy diet and exercise. They all can incorporate a group setting or individual. You meet with someone who sets up a diet plan that works with your life style, body type and activity level. Each one is going to be different, and each will work better for some than others.

QUESTION:
Has anyone done the LA weight loss diet?
My sister just got a bottle of the " take off" juice from our cousin. But she has no idea of how to use it or how to start the program. Can anyone let me know what she is supposed to do? Is this a complete fast with only the juice, or are you on a certain diet while drinking the juice? Thank you, any help is appreciated!-
ANSWER:
The drink is to be used three times a day as directed. Your cousin should have the food list too - LAWL tells you what you are allowed to eat. You get to eat however much you want, when you want, as long as it is on the approved "Take off" list.

QUESTION:
What weight loss program works best?
I know, healthy diet and exercise but I need some motivation to start off with. I was thinking maybe Jenny Craig after the million years of watching there commercials. Anyone ever tried it? Was it successful? Any other programs that helped you lost weight? (La Weight loss, Medifast, etc)-
ANSWER:
stay away from medifast. You lose weight too quickly! VERY UNHEALTHY! And it's nasty. Seriously, gross. It doesn't teach you what to eat when you're not on a diet, and you will fain everything back. I've done it, and have had several others do it. I lost 60lbs in one summer using it. Then I gained 80lbs back! And i'm not like a huge pig or anything I just wasn't taught when to eat, and whats good for you. I suggest LA, Jenny, or Weight watchers. They all have their own way of getting you to lose weight, and they all work. You just have to decide which one you like best! Good luck on your weight loss journey!

QUESTION:
LA Weight Loss, any others out there on it, or have been on it ?
i have been following the portion and dieting plan for a little over a week now and have already lost 5 lbs! i am soo happy about this. but i find it challenging at times to not really snack or eat junk. anyone else find it rewarding/challenging ?!-
ANSWER:
My wife uses the LA Weight Loss plan and has lost over 50 pounds!! She is currently doing the maintenance diet. The plan works great if you stick to it, but be careful they will try to sell you a lot of expensive snacks and stuff that you don't need. Many of their centers have had closed because of this. Drink lots of water and chew sugar free gum to curb the snack urges.

How much do LA Weight Loss Councilors get paid?
I heard they get an hourly rate plus commission. Is that true? if so can you work full time? and how much would you make per week if you're good at your job?Other than getting lots of clients what affects your commission?
thanks-
ANSWER:
LA weight loss is probably going out of business. They have been sued so many times it's rediculous.
False advertising + staff with little or no training on nutrition giving people false information about diet + bait & switch sales tactics = untrustworthy business
Do you really want to work for a company like that?

QUESTION:
I am looking to lose about 50 lbs. I am looking into Weight Watchers and LA Weight Loss. Any suggestions?
I need something easy to follow because of my busy lifestyle. Weight Watchers seems to fir my lifestyle better, but I don't know much about the program. LA Weight Loss gives great results and support from staff, 3 weighins a week, stuff like that. But you have to write EVERYTHING down, and eat their soy protein bars (which for a year or so supply is over 1000 bucks!) I am so busy with school and on a budget (as a poor grad student) that I need something effective but simple and as low cost as possible. Someone who knows about weight watchers, please clue me in!
I need a "plan" that I can follow, that keeps me in line, instead of just regulating my own diet. I am not very good at keeping my choices healthy because I am always on the go and cook for just myself during the week. I eat a lot of microwaves dinners because they are fast and you don't have to worry about tons of left overs. I need to reduce my sodium nd my blood pressure, and I hear that they are not the best option for someone who needs this type of thing.-
ANSWER:
Weight watchers has 2 plans, the core and the flex. With the core you get a limited selection of foods, like brocolli, plain chicken breast ect. With the flex plan you get x "points" a day to use as you like. You do have to keep track of everything you eat during a day. You don't have to buy any food from them, although I do buy some things cause they are tasty little treats. I lost 60 pounds at a rate of about 2 pounds a week. Finished up about 2 months ago and am still keeping track of everything I eat to stay at my "goal" weight. The first 2 weeks suck as you are basically starving all the time. Then your body adjusts and gets used to less food. Worked for me, and my wife. It is a little time consuming and a hassle, but your trying to lose weight, there is really no easy way to do it. Just got to pick something and go with it. Weight watchers also has weekly weigh in's. I never did go to any of those, my wife however did. I just do all my stuff online. It's .00 a month. Check out thier website, it's pretty informative.

How does LA weight loss work specifically? I'm looking for specifics. How much they charge, whats the secret-

Sorry I cannot help but thanks for asking. I was curious myself. I have heard news recently about this programme so perhaps looking it up on the net will yield some things you might consider if they apply to you. If you are like me, you don't want to lose respect for Whoopie putting her name on the line then being disappointed.... let alone the cash. I have heard it is quite costly.

QUESTION:
are all of the LA weight loss centers closing?
first the one in my town was gone, and now there are none left in my state. is the whole business going under?-
ANSWER:
I think so.... I'm in Ohio and there's none around anymore. Although, I think they changed the name.. I've seen them advertised on television same basic commercial as LA weightloss but, the name is different. I just can't remember the name.. Before I got married I went in there for a FREE consultation and what a scam! I took a questionaire which asked about my weight and feelings associated with my weight and basically the "consultant" used it against me to try and get me to join there ridiculously expensive program..It was a week my foot! It was more like a 54 week program and you pay 1/2 upfront it was around 0 to join.. PLUS an additional 0 for blood work-up.. When I asked if my primary care phys. could do the blood work some phony in a doc. lab coat said, "NO" it had to be done in the LA. Weightloss Centers office...! SCAM! So, I left.. It was the biggest rip-off ever.. You'd be better off checking out your primary health care phys. and getting seen by a nuitritionist... Pay the co-pay and go from there... At least you know that actual doctors are taking care of you..
Good luck

QUESTION:
explain the importance of execise to the LA weight loss diet?
how important is it to execise based on this diet plan?etc-

Exercise is important on any diet plan. Exercise causes your metabolism to run faster, meaning you burn more calories in a day - even during the time you are at rest. The more calories you burn, the more fat you burn.

QUESTION:
I'm thinking of joining an LA Weight Loss center?
Has anyone out there ever been a member or is currently a member of LA Weight Loss? What do you think of it? I'm a 24 year-old female and I want to be at a healthier weight other than my current 220 pounds. Do you think LA Weight loss center is for me?
Also, how much does it cost?
I tried Weight Watchers also but I found that it wasn't for me. Thanks for the suggestion though.
-
ANSWER:
I was a member for a couple of months last fall, but I dropped it. It's VERY expensive.... I wanted to lose 50 lbs and it was like, 0-800... just for basic membership fees. THEN they want you to buy their LA Lites, bars, snacks, vitamins and supplements, all of which are SOOO expensive... like a box of bars (7per box) is like ! A bottle of some supplement was like, . Way too much for me. I just quit cuz I couldn't pay for everything and it was tough to go in 3x a week...BUT it DOES work. I lost 10lbs before I quit. So, if you have the money and you want to spend it, good luck!

Im wondering what I could expect to earn yearly if I worked for LA Weight loss? I know there is a commision off of selling products, which I hear are expensive.Has anyone worked/ or work for them?
-
ANSWER:
I worked for La Weight Loss and don't expect nothing big. Just pure BS every week. You would have a weekly goal to make and your commision is based on that. You get a base salary. I use to make my goal and more on a regular basis and I never pushed no one into buying something they don't want. In my area that I worked we only got 2% commision. It is not worth it at all.

QUESTION:
Weight watchers, nutrisystem, LA Weight loss, jenny craig which one works?
I was just wondering if people have tried any of these and had success. When it shows you the pictures it says "results not typical". Thank you!-
ANSWER:
None truly work unless you are extremely dedicates. I would say that weight watchers is the best bet, because with the rest, once you stop eating their food, you gain the weight back. With weight watchers you just weigh in once a week. and they tell you what foods you should eat and they all have a certain number of "points." It basically helps you to learn how to keep your calories low and your intake of food low. So if you truly want something to lose weight and you need help then i would say do weight watchers and forget about the rest.

QUESTION:
Least expensive weight loss programs? Most effective?
I'm currently looking for a weight loss program. I'm thinking about maybe Jenny Craigs, LA weight loss, Weight Watchers...only none of these programs have prices on the website. Also, if anyone has used any of these please tell me about your experience...*Please do note, I understand that dieting is not always good and there are ways to lose weight without going to a program. I know myself, however, and my discipline isn't that frat when I do it myself so I would like something structured for me. Thank you in advance for answering the question at hand.
-
ANSWER:
I'm not sure about the costs of Jenny Craig or LA Weight Loss, but I've found Weight Watchers to be very affordable.I do everything online, and it's about .95 per month. The resources are great, from having an online database of foods and point values, to exercise tips, to recipes. They even have a Recipe Builder where you can figure out the points of foods and recipes you cook today.
I also think Weight Watchers is a great plan because it teaches you about portion control and healthy eating/cooking habits so once you've lost the weight, you've learned the tools to keep it off.

I'm 19 now, I'm 5'3 or 5'4 and I weigh in the 160s and on the program I haven't lost any real weight yet. Also is it possible to gain weight from stress? casue I had lost all of 5 pounds in a month and gained most of it back in a week but I've had a really abnormally stressful week with school work and family problems, but I didn't change my eating habits in this time!!!! QUESTION:
Do Weight Watchers/Jenny Craig/LA Weight Loss work?
Are they actually meant to be permanent weight loss programmes or are they really just hoping you will have to keep coming back to them because you cannot manage to keep the weight off alone?-
ANSWER:
My sister joined weight watchers last month and she lost 4 pounds in the first week, but then gradually began to lose less. She's keeping at it though. It's different for everyone.I don’t understand weight watchers beyond what I see she eats, but while counting points may temporarily help people understand what to eat and how much, it’s not a way to live in the long term. The problem I have is that they seem to be more concerned about calories and carbohydrates than nutrition. They don’t really stop you from eating anything, though generally, unhealthier foods are higher in points. That’s supposed to teach you, but do you really need a points system to tell you that a banana is healthier than a cheeseburger? I believe in the food pyramid, and that’s what you should follow, though generally speaking, the breads and pastas do have more carbs, so I would cut down on that if you’re trying to lose weight, not completely though, whole grain foods are very healthy for you. Just something to keep in mind though, when it comes to the meat and dairy group, go for leaner meats such as chicken and fish rather than hamburger. Then, with dairy, cut the cheese intake and drink 1% or Fat Free milk. Yogurt is good for you too with the added benefits of live active cultures. It’s not all that difficult. The snack group is the smallest for a reason, yet weight-watchers have snack products for one point. Sure, they may be healthier than most snack products with less fat and more fiber, but it’s still a snack and you should eat it sparingly. This just requires a little bit of knowledge on your behalf. Eating healthy doesn’t have to be complicated. On the subject of weight loss, you still do need to exercise most days of the week. The other day I saw a 70 year old man running. You’re never too old to exercise.

QUESTION:
Meds made me gain 10 lbs. I want to lose it, but just fat not muscle. Weight Watchers or LA Weight Loss?
I'm a healthy person. I have an active lifestyle and eat lots of fruits and veggies. I've never had to pay a lot of extra attention to my weight or diet, besides taking vitamins and drinking water. However, even though I'm now off the medicine (a steroid for my asthma) and have vamped up my workouts, this extra weight isn't budging. So I think I need to change my diet. I've heard weight watchers is good for teaching portion control, but LA weight loss gives faster results. Even though I do not have a lot of weight to lose, I want to make sure I do it in a healthy way. Any suggestions, experiences, etc.?-
ANSWER:
non of them - they have too low calorie plans.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

QUESTION:
I posted a copy of my diet on Ebay that is basically the LA Weight Loss Diet...they have canceled my auction?
they said it was copyright violation. Is there any way that I can repost with different wording so that it does not reflect LA weightloss but still be legal to sell? Can I just relist my auction but say Popular Diet Program Similar to blah blah blah? Or should I rename it something else?-
ANSWER:
You admit that your diet plan is "basically the LA Weight Loss Diet" so yes it is copyright violation.
You need to customize it and make it truly your own. Then when you market it do not make any references to any other weight loss program.
After all it is your program you are wanting to sell. Copying all or part of some other program is called plagiarism and could be also a copyright violation.

QUESTION:
Has anyone lost weight at LA Weight Loss?
One opened up where I live and I want to try it, but don't know what the plan is like or how expensive it is. I don't want to waste my time with a consultation if I can't afford it and they won't tell me on the phone. Can anyone help me out?-
ANSWER:
I went there about 10 years ago. Back then, ours was called Weight Lost Center - then they changed to LA Weight Loss about a year after I left. I lost 65 pounds in about 9 months. I followed their plan, and was sooooo hungry. If it weren't for the extra supplements that I bought from them I probably wouldn't have made it through it. It was very expensive at the time. I know my upfront cost was over 0 (they charged a base fee and then figured out how many weeks it'd take to reach your goal at X pounds per week and charged a weekly rate). Plus, the supplements were.. hm.. I think it worked out to close to a bar, and you had one or 2 a day. There were 2 things I didn't like about it. First, some of the 'consultants' had attitude. I followed the plan faithfully. But anyone who's dieted knows you reach a point where your body doesn't want to lose anymore, and you either need to change the diet or up the exercise. Well I hit this plateau, and the consultant accused me of cheating. She was quite nasty about it.
The other thing I didn't like about it was the process from the diet to the maintenance. Basically, and I'm hoping this changed from 10 years ago, you eased off the diet for a few weeks on another plan, and then you were told that you didn't need a eating plan anymore. Well, hmm, go for 9 months without fast food, and then being given free reign again? Of course you gain it back.
I kept my 65 pounds off for 2 years, and I am quite proud of that. Unfortunately, I didn't keep it off. I don't blame the business or its program - I had some other things going on in my life at the time, and I really stopped caring whether I was thin or not (and I'm a HUGE stress eater).

QUESTION:
Does LA Weight Loss really work?
For those of you who have tried LA Weight Loss - did you lose weight? How much did it cost to start the program? What all does the program entail? How long did it take you to reach your goal?I'm considering going, but I want a little bit of information first. The website just says "Come in for a FREE Consultation!" and won't give any details.
-
ANSWER:
Yes, I did the LA Weight Loss program.I started out at 175 and I got down to 150. It does work but it does cost, they will go over the costs with you depending on how much weight you want to lose. I left them and continued the program on my own and I am now 137. I will continue to do it their way until I get to my goal. Their program is very good. I do recommend it. The first 6 days I lost about 6 pounds.
