Losing weight is more than just watching numbers plummet on a scale. For those who find themselves thinking, I need to lose weight and fast often, there can be many hidden dangers in doing almost anything to get the body you want. From subscribing to diets that basically starve your body into submission to trying diets that are purely liquid or deemed detoxifying, you need to be careful about how you approach your weight loss strategy. Any diet that controls your amount of calories to the point of fatigue, hunger, and lethargy is not empowering your body but instead tearing it down.
Juice Diets: Why They Wont Offer the Best Diet Results You are Looking For
A juice diet is what I like to call controlled starving. Companies create a brew of water, some trace vitamins and some trace fruit and they call it a juice diet. If anyone cuts out all substantial calorie intake and basically waters it down to simply a liquid you will lose weight. This is the type of diet that cannot be sustained and can actually add to unwanted weight gain as soon as the last drop has been drunk.
Not only are juice diets vapors in the reality of your struggle with weight loss and can easily perpetuate frustration, it can also be dangerous. Some of these juices are packed with chemicals and additives that are basically posing to your system. And even if you are on an all-natural juice diet, many of those contain high amounts of fructose, sugar or high fructose corn syrup, which can lead to an increase amount of fat stores while your body had to utilize muscle mass to create energy. Your body is basically eating itself in order to for you to see any numbers drop on the scale. This is a dangerous way to lose weight, and also one that will not yield long-term results.
What is a Detox and Why Is It Not Recommended for the Diet Solution?
Detox diets come in many different shapes and sizes. The reason the a detox is not a part of the Diet Solution, nor is it necessary to jumpstart weight loss before you begin you new way of eating is because the Diet Solution is a detoxifying diet in and of itself. Cleansing your system of impurities, toxins and chemicals is not just something you should do every few months or once a year, it is something that you should be doing every day.
The foods that you feed your body should be high in minerals, naturally occurring fats, and high in quality-dense calories. This process of eating clean will naturally flush your system out and allow you to see significant weight loss. Drinking half of your body weight in water a day as well as staying away from commercially distributed and pre packaged foods are in a sense a detox, and will actually give you the same results- more energy and weight loss, but for a sustainable period of time. If you are looking for a long lasting weight loss solution then you should turn your focus to eating foods that the liver can easily process to naturally detoxify your system. This intake of organic fruits and veggies, lean cuts of free range poultry and grass fed beef on daily basis will ensure that your metabolism slow and your weight loss remains steady and consistent.

QUESTION:
I need to lose weight fast?-
ANSWER:
I wouldn't recommend losing weight super fast since from my experience i have falling into this trap many times. I was eating 800-1000 calories and for the first four days it worked amazingly and the pounds dropped off. Then suddenly the weight stopped dropping off and my body was maintaining it's weight on a ridiculously small amount. The only way i could change this and get my metabolism back again was to gain the weight i had lost and start again. I would recommend eating 1500 calories a day of good healthy foods that contain lean proteins, complex carbohydrates and lots of fruit and vegetables. Never skip breakfast because it may help you lose weight at first but in the end all it will do is dramatically slow your metabolism since you won't be breaking the fast you have been on all night. A trick i found that was good was having a bowl of cereal like rice krispies or cheerios if i really fancied a snack. They are light and i swear they don't put any weight on you but they still contain lots of vitamins and calcium. There's no absolute way you can be accurate in knowing how much weight you will lose since water levels and all sorts of things contribute to this but i reckon you could be losing 2 pounds a week at least which is equivalent to a bag of sugar!I now weigh 7 stone 4 (102 pounds) Ideally i would like to be 98 pounds but oh well.

I’m 14, a bit taller than 5’3” and I weigh 125 lbs. I have big boobs and a belly, and I really really need to lose weight in both of those places.
I drink lots of water and watch what I eat, but the exercise part is confusing me. I have a treadmill at home so I can monitor how long and how far I walk/jog/run, but I don’t know the ideals.
I started running yesterday and felt comfortable at about 4mph, but I could only run for about 25 minutes before I got tired. I could have gone on for longer, but my parents think that I shouldn’t push it too much when I’m just starting out.

ANSWER:
Diet and fitness work together toward a healthy lifestyle. Changing your diet and your level of fitness is what can change the way you look and feel. The best way to lose weight is about living a healthier life than what you may be living now. You will need a complete lifestyle change and you will need to be committed. The body loses about 2 pounds a week optimally and that’s 2 pounds that stay off. When you drop at a faster rate your body could potentially rebound and either plateau your weight loss or put extra weight on. If you are committed then you should reach your goal.Weight gain is dependent on a person's energy intake being greater than energy expenditure. One pound (0.45 kg) is equal to 3,500 calories. Therefore, a person consuming 500 calories more than he or she expends daily will gain 1 lb a week.
TIPS
A sensible diet and some exercise, has shown to be the most effective thing to do.
A key point is not to eat too much junk food and to ensure you get the basic nutrition your body needs. You should eat at least two portions of fruit and vegetables each day. We would highly recommend supplementing your diet with super foods.
Physical activity is a necessary component of every weight loss plan.
Eat three meals a day at about the same time each day sitting at a table.
Eat slowly.
Avoid distractions such as television or magazines.
Cook smaller amounts; use smaller plates.
Avoid second helpings.
Scrape plates directly into the garbage.
By following the steps above you can not only rid yourself of the known dangers of being obese, but also you can increase your energy levels and feel better.
1. Eat more. Yes eat more. More meals that is. It is best to eat a small meal every 3-4 hours. The meal should be just large enough to where you are not hungry, as opposed to eating you are full. There is a difference, think of it as no bigger than the size of your two fists put together. Eating 1 or 2 meals a day slows your metabolism down. You should have at least 4-6 meals a day. For most a ratio of carbs-proteins-fats should be 50%-25%-25% is good, but each person is unique.
2. Drink more water. Most of us don’t have enough water. This means our bodies are dehydrated. Two things a dehydrated body has trouble doing, one is releasing water. In order to lose fat you must be able to release water, because fat cells in your body are composed of mostly water. A dehydrated body cannot build very well. Muscle tone indicates a constant building state in your body. If your body isn’t building that means it is losing muscle and it’s never good to lose muscle that slows your metabolism and makes you look flabby.
3. Maintain a balanced workout regimen of cardio and resistance (weights). Cardio is good for fat burning and it’s easy to do and to progress yourself. Resistance is a little harder because it’s not as easy to know what to do. If weights aren’t your thing then try Yoga or Pilates. Both are very effective resistance and core training and can help you maintain lean muscle and increase your overall metabolism.
4. Smart supplementation of your diet is your best solution to making sure you get the nutrients your food doesn’t give you. A daily multivitamin will suffice in most cases, and if you don’t like pills they sell it in liquid form. Plus cleanses, as well as detox formulas are awesome for eliminating toxins we take into our bodies without knowing.
5. Sleep is a very important part of any healthy lifestyle regimen. When we sleep our bodies and minds refresh themselves and allow us to function at an optimal level. Sleeping allows muscles to rebuild themselves and when they do that, it speeds your metabolism.
You may ask why I gave you this long list instead of just telling you what exercises to do. The reason is if you think that exercising is all you need then you are mislead. If exercising is all we needed to look and feel great then everybody who works out at the gym would have great bodies and be healthy. If you have been to a gym before you know its not true.

QUESTION:
help me please i need to lose weight fast..?
I need weight loss tips and websites but websites you dont have to pay for. I need to lose 10 pounds by next month! Can you HELP ME
-
ANSWER:
I know you don't want to hear this, but don't try to lose 10 pounds in a short period of time. If you are serious about being healthy and lowering your weight to a place where you are comfortable, change your eating habbits. You are probably very young. Don't start the roller coaster early. You are setting yourself up for a lifetime of failure.Cut out refined foods and eat only raw fruits and vegetables. Eat whole milk, organic yogurt (plain). Eat salmon 3-4 times a week. Eat lettuce every day. Drink plenty of water (key to losing weight.). Eat an avacado every day. Raspberries and Strawberries help to cleanse toxins from the body, allowing the fat to be taken out quicker.
AVOID Low fat/No fat. This causes weight gain. Exercise up to 30 minutes a day. You are going to have to do some work. But I warn you, if you change everything all at once. You will not stick to it, and in 2 months you will gain back more than the 10 lbs you lost.
The key to permanent weight loss, (and I don't think that is what you are looking for unfortunately) is change your lifestyle one small thing at a time. Don't neglect yourself and then rapidly try to change. Change one thing every week. Make one healthy change, and over a year, you have made 52 positive changes.
Be forgiving of yourself, and love yourself for who you are. Life is too short to try to conform to what others think of you. Be kind to yourself, because you are worth it.

QUESTION:
Did I eat to little today? Do I need to lose weight?
I am trying to lose weight and am worried I ate to little. I am 13 years old, 4' 8", and weigh 79lbs. I ate 2 pears, 1 egg, 1 baked potato w/ little cheese and lettuce. Do I need weight loss? Did I eat enough? How much more should I eat today?-
ANSWER:
You really don't sound overweight at all, but it's good that you want to eat healthy and watch your weight (just try to do it with a healthy attitude, not by obsessing). You could definitely do with adding a bit to your diet. Have some yoghurt with your pear, and mix up the fruits, having berries etc. Throw some almonds in there too, you need protein with every meal.
Don't be afraid to have another egg! Have two egg whites and just one yolk. That way you get lots of protein to fuel fat burning, but only one fatty yolk. (The yolk is rich in vitamins and other nutrients, so never discard it all together).
A potato with cheese, as long as it's not too small, is a good mix of carbs and protein. But you could do with more vitamins and fibre than just lettuce. Either make up a small salad with lettuce and a few other veggies (bell peppers, sugar snap peas, radishes, spinach etc.) or lightly steam some carrots and broccoli to go with the potato.
Make sure your meals always have a carbohydrate (complex carbs only, such as brown bread, brown rice, brown pasta or oats - potatoes are good too), a lean protein source such as fish, red meat, poultry, nuts, beans, dairy etc., and some kind of fruit of vegetable (either a single large piece or a mix of small ones).
Water is also one of the most important ways to stay healthy and keep fat off. Drink a big glass with every meal and in between.

QUESTION:
How can I convince my g/f she doesn't need lose weight?
My g/f wants to go on a strenuous diet/exercise plan to lose weight. She only weighs 125 lbs. (ballpark figure), and she wants to lose 10. I've tried my best to convince her she doesn't need to do it, and that I would much rather see her at 125 than watch her starve and run herself ragged to get to an unhealthy low weight. 115 lbs. isn't good for a 5'4" woman, right?-
ANSWER:
Well I am 5'5" and 129 right now, I did once have a boyfriend when i was 115, try to convince me I needed to gain 5-10lbs. I def miss being 115 b/c I miss being a size 2... I am a size 6 now, and that's fine... you just have to be supportive no matter what, tell her you love her the way she is, but support her weight loss if it is done in a healthy manner though you are concerned that being that light would not be healthy (I heard that a lot when I was 115 - friends were worried I was too skinny). Be supportive (until it becomes hurtful to her) but tell her you love her the way she is... that's all you can do

QUESTION:
What are the minimum pounds of weight I need to lose in order to visibly see results in weight loss?
I want to lose weight in 2 weeks. I don't really care how much just as long as its visible to see. Like someone can easily tell that I lost weight. How many pounds do I need to lose in order for that to happen? And how long will it take 2 lose those pounds? Thank you.
Btw im large not small-
ANSWER:
It really depends on the person...I guess I'll just answer based on my own experience. I used to have a lot of visible belly fat (it was really gross...). This summer, I dieted and exercised and within the first 2-3 weeks, I lost around 6-8 lbs. I saw a huge difference in my body. Most of the fat around my stomach was gone, and now, I pretty much have a flat stomach except for bit of fat that I'm still working on to get off.The average person, if on a *healthy* diet (1000-1200 calories, 15 minutes of cardio), will lose about 2 lbs per week. Losing any more than 2 lbs per week is dangerous. I lost around 3-4 lbs in the first week, and this is because I went on a 700 calorie diet. I do not recommend this because now, I feel moody all the time and feel dizzy/light-headed. Plus, the weight stops coming off after a few weeks. So moral of the story? Don't go below 1000 calories on a diet. (I'm currently working towards a higher calorie consumption.)

ANSWER:
Weight loss for teenage girls can become an obsession. It's a hard enough time for girls without a weight problem. Almost every girl looks at her tiniest flaws as monumental, and for those who are truly overweight, taking off the pounds cannot happen fast enough. However, patience in this and most other arenas in life, is a virtue that will help not hurt. Keeping the following weight loss tips in mind will help you to make smart weight loss choices, and increase your chances of success.Losing weight quickly can backfire in many cases. You may lose weight fast, but the pounds (and a few of their friends) inevitably return. This is called the boomerang effect. You will lose weight if you cut calories or skip meals, but the loss won't be permanent, and your metabolism will suffer. Your body thinks it is starving, and turns calories into fat for storage in this time of (what your body sees as) starvation.
Instead, many doctors recommend a safe weight loss of 1-2 pounds per week. I know that sounds like peanuts to a teenager who has 20 or more pounds to lose, but the results will be more likely to be permanent if weight loss is accomplished safely.
If you eat smaller (healthy) meals, but eat every couple hours throughout the day, your metabolism will speed up to keep up with the demands, in turn, burning more calories. Keep track of when you eat, and schedule in a snack within 2 hours. Preparing a few low calorie snacks to have on hand is a weapon of many successful healthy weight people. Making mini crustless quiches using the new egg substitute that has a yolk in it is an easy on the go breakfast. Keep them in the fridge for quick snacking, or in the freezer for a toaster oven breakfast.
Try not to have high calorie snacks before bed. A bowl of high fiber cereal will fill you up and take that edge off. If you have a sweet tooth, add a spoonful of sweetened cereal in the bowl with the good stuff. You'll still raise your fiber intake (which can help you to lose 10 pounds in a year by itself) and you won't be adding a huge amount of calories to your body before sleep. Fat free yogurt (a small cup) is also a smart bedtime snack because it has a small amount of protein yet carbs to help you sleep.
Adding activity to your daily routine, no matter how small will slowly add up to calories burned over time. Find an activity that you love, maybe something you did as a child, like swim lessons, or dance, or heck, even riding a bike. If you loved it then, you'd probably enjoy it today. If you build muscle, you may gain a couple pounds, but don't forget that that muscle will be working for you around the clock, burning calories even while you sleep.
A sensible exercise routine, combined with smart eating techniques will help any teenage girl to lose weight without resorting to dangerous fad diets or deadly eating disorders. Any weight loss plan should be done under the supervision of a doctor. Weight loss for teenagers (boys or girls) should be a process that will help them to make healthy lifestyle changes that will stay with them for a lifetime.

QUESTION:
I need to lose weight and need a diet to follow?
I need to lose weight quickly so am after a quick fix diet, i know this is not the answer but will be so i look good for summer hols. My only problem is I like a glass of wine so suggestions where i can still drink some are appreciated. Thanks.-
ANSWER:
go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food
after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on
your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If
you don't eat wheat then you don't eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don't eat junk food, and you don't eat biscuits. But your
diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans.

QUESTION:
I need to lose some weight and need some nutrition tips?
I am 16 years old, i weigh 165 pounds and am looking to lose some weight to look better.
What is a good amount of calories to eat everyday in order to lose weight? How many fat grams should i be taking in every day? i do work out often. Im pretty strong its just i have extra weight i dont really need. Someone please help me?-
ANSWER:
1. First start by getting up earlier than usual. Around 5:30 AM to do some of you workouts. Getting up early shocks your metabolism because the body needs more energy to get going. Right? This will start your system on the road to weight loss. That early start with about 10 minutes of stretching. Have a cup of coffee to get the blood going also.2. Do all the sit-ups you can. Just do them. 15 or 20 whatever, we don't have a lot of time to work with. Rest 1 minute repeat, do this for 6 sets. Already you are breathing hard and feel worn, because the body is working extra hard at being up earlier and then going right into exercise. If the early morning hour lets you get your cardio in, go ahead and do it. 30 minutes.
3. Diet. Cut all current meal portions in half, just cut them in half, nothing fancy or complicated, CUT IN HALF! Cut out all bread products, all gravies, candies, chips, night snacks, etc. If you crave at night eat a banana, other fruit or best a non-fat yogurt. There are some tasty ones out there.
4. In the evening do another 6 sets of sit-ups maxing out each set. Cardio again. The trick is to stay with getting up earlier. Yes it’s hard, that’s why it is so effective. Why do you think the Army gets up so early, it is intense training to the max.

QUESTION:
I am disabled and need to lose weight but cant exercise plus I have PCOS?
I have very limited movement and I need to lose weight or I shall not live, thats basically it. I am planning on starting the atkins diet tomorrow and no carbs whatsoever,or dairy or wheat. Wish me luck and any advice you can offer would be greately appreciated.I feel so bad about my self, basically I do hate myself and do want to improve myself and I think to start doing this is for me to lose weight.
-
ANSWER:
I really don't think this is a good idea. This is a diet you will not be able to maintain. Eating no carbs and no wheat, you'll get huge cravings and eventually give into them and binge and put all the weight you lost back on, plus more. I'm not trying to ruin your good idea, just being realistic.I suggest you start by adding in more fruit and veges, and slowly remove fats and sugars. Drink only water and low fat milk and tea. Eat when you feel hungry and try and get out for some fresh air each day.

QUESTION:
How much exercise do I need to lose weight?
I'm not lazy so I'm willing to push myself. I'm trying to lose weight, How much cardio with Jogging do I need to do to lose the most weight I can each week?-
ANSWER:
Min a 20min of cardio in a day, that's the min amount of time after what your body starts to burn calories and it keeps doing it 30min - 2h after your cardio, depending from how hard you exercised.
A couple of weeks later when you train yourself up you can increase it by 10 more min, if you want. More cardio of course = more calories burned. It would be good idea also to combine cardio with some strength exercises to increase your muscle mass. Bigger/stronger muscles = more calories burned. You may also want to to change some of your eating habits to enhance the amount of calories burned. Would be good to ate at least 5h a day ever 3-4h by small portions, rather than eating 3 times a day big portions. It will help to boost your metabolism = more calories burned. Also it would be good to say no to foods like candies (and everything with table sugar), white bread and fatty foods like butter. In stead of that it would be good to ate foods like whole wheat bread, fruits, and lean meat.

QUESTION:
How many calories do i need to lose weight?
Im 15, 230 pounds, 6 feet and just started p90x. I want to lise weoght but im not sure how many calories i need to lose weight. Can somone tell me how many i need.-
ANSWER:
As a base, an adult man needs 2,500 if he's average - walks around a bit but does no serious physical work or training. You should consider the fact that you're still growing, not to sound patronizing. I'd stick another 500 in there on account. Your figuring will be distorted to some extent by the fact that p90x comes with a diet plan, but you should be able to start around 3,000 and just alter it to fit - less if the weight's not coming off, more if you're constantly tired and sore. I don't know if you know about this but T-nation is a bodybuilders' and general fitness nut's website and they have forums where people who are professional nutritionists will sometimes answer a question like this, as well as links to free ebooks and probably some people who are in exactly your position. Check 'em out, and good luck with your training.

QUESTION:
Do i need to lose weight to look attractive?
Im 5.2 feet and around 9 stone i feel huge and in pictures i look massive.Whenever i ask my friends they tell me i dont need to diet but i feel this is just cause they love me and dont want to hurt my feelings. I dont feel attractive as boys prefer girls with nice legs and tiny waists but i need to know how much weight i need to lose to be the healthy ideal weight!-
ANSWER:
Don't stress over your weight. Sure the stereotypical girl has a flat stomach and tiny waist, and not big thighs. but you've got one thing those runway models don't, curves. So what if you are a little curvy and have a bit of a stomach. I hate seeing girls with stick thin legs and bodies. I love curves. I hate my stomach and the tops of my thighs but i don't stress over it. You probably have a beautiful figure; if they tell you you do; and they are good friends then they will be telling you the truth. please don't try and loose loads of weight, although i would love a flat stomach i wouldn't risk ruining my figure like that, please don't do it either xxxx

QUESTION:
I need a way to lose weight pretty quick but I want to do it healthy I really have one month, help?
I need to lose weight really quick. Maybe good exercises or streches or maybe eating low carb food. I need answers please help. I only have th month of may. I have exams so I still need energy.Thank you.-
ANSWER:
Weight loss is an overall process and there are no magic answers. Pay no attention to weight loss supplements and pills and all the latest fads. You need to think about many factors but most of them are related to issues we've known about for a very long time. There are many sensible things you can do that will make a tremendous difference over the long term if you need to lose weight. It can be done in a healthy way. This is what has worked for me.Keeping a food journal really does help. It will give you a much better sense of how much you are eating, and when, and why.
Make a few additional small changes - walk everywhere, always use stairs instead of elevators, walk on escalators, get up and move around at least once an hour if your work or your life in general is sedentary, walk every day, use a pedometer. Walking 10,000 steps a day is a really good idea. Build up to a long brisk walk everyday, or most days. Be more active and watch less TV and spend less time on the computer. Buy one piece of exercise equipment to have at home and be strict with yourself about using it. Sometimes you can find mini-steppers or exercise bikes at second hand stores and thrift stores for just a few dollars.
Start a weight lifting routine. Join a gym. Possibly you can find one that has someone who specializes in weight lifting programs for beginners. Weight lifting will increase your metabolism as well as improve posture and appearance overall. Even if you can't get to the gym you can work out at home using things around the house. Invest in a good weight training book. The Dummies series actually has a good one.
In terms of diet, cut out or reduce things like junk food, pop, fat, fast food. Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meat, fish. Particularly if you choose a vegetarian lifestyle include natural peanut butter, hummus, dried fruit and nuts. Pay close attention to getting the nutrients your body needs to be healthy.
Make your portion sizes smaller. Use a smaller plate - in our society we have become accustomed to thinking that we need a large plate of food at every meal, and we don't. About quarter of your plate of food should be protein and at least half of it should be veggies.
Learn to count calories. At your current weight and activity level, you may possibly need about 2000 calories or more to maintain your current weight. So you will lose weight at a reasonable and healthy rate if you cut back to about 1600 or 1700 calories a day.
Eat small amounts frequently, rather than three large meals. Never skip breakfast. Include some protein in your breakfast. It will help get you through the day.
Drink plenty of water, at least 8 big glasses of water a day, and more if it is very hot, if you sweat a lot, or if you are exercising intensely, and eliminate fruit juices. Fruit juices have too many calories, so get your vitamins from fresh fruit, not the juice. You will begin to see changes in your body.
Vary your routines. Don't eat the same number of calories every day (vary your calories from 1400 a day to 1900 or 2000 some days), eat a variety of foods, and do different kinds and amounts of exercise. You will lose weight much more efficiently if you mix things up from time to time so that your body doesn't adjust to any one routine.
An area that many people overlook is getting enough sleep. You are much more likely to overeat or to binge eat if you are tired and not well rested, so get enough sleep.

QUESTION:
What is the best way for a teen to lose weight? And do I need to lose weight?
I am a newly 13 year old female who is 5'11 1/4 and I think I need to lose weight. I have most of my weight in my legs, but also most of my height. I bike ride and take walks regularly, but I really love chocolate and I think that is one of my problems. What should I do, my goal is about 15 pounds by december.-
ANSWER:
If you want to lose weight, you need to two things: eat less and exercise more. Weight gain happens when you create a calorie surplus (eat more than you burn). Your body takes the excess calories and converts them to fat which get stored around your stomach, arms and thighs. The longer you remain in a calorie surplus, the more weight you'll gain. To lose that weight, you need to do the opposite. You need to create a calorie deficit (start eating less than you burn).Your first step is to figure out how many calories you burn on a daily basis. Use a calorie calculator - http://calorieneedscalculator.com The number you get from this tool is what your body burns on a daily basis. To lose weight, simply eat less. It sounds a lot easier than it is but making small changes helps you adjust to a new lifestyle. Don't think of this as a diet, think of it as a new life. Instead of eating foods high in sugars, white flour and saturated fat, go with fruits, vegetables, whole wheats, fish, lean meats, nuts and beans. In addition to eating less, you also need to exercise more. Start off at 1-2 times per week and work your way up to 3-5 times per week.
Don't make all of these changes at once or you won't be able to properly adjust to them. Generally, eating healthier foods will decrease your calorie intake. Compare a doughnut to an apple and you'll see that healthy foods are lower in calories. You can find some more information at the Straight Health Forums - http://forums.straighthealth.com

QUESTION:
Do I need to lose weight in order to fit the modeling standards?
I'm 15 years old, 5'11', 145lbs, and im looking into modeling, do i need to lose weight?-
ANSWER:
I checked your BMI (body mass index) and you're 21.
18.5 or less is underweight
18.5 - 24.9 normal
You're already on the skinny side so no, you don't have to lose weight.
But if you feel like you need to lose weight you can, but don't hurt yourself over it, it's more important to be healthy than to be skinny.

QUESTION:
People tell me I need to lose weight, do 500 calorie diets work?
I'm 5'5 and 120Ib people like my coach and friends tell me I need to lose 10Ib but my mom doesn't think so. Anyway now I'm super self concious about my weight and only eat 600-800 calories a day, mostly health foods but its not good I waqnt to be skinny but healthy its just hard to lose weight.-
ANSWER:
Well I actually think your weight is really good, but I'll tell you that 500 calorie diets do work for a short period of time, though they almost always end up in these two scenarios:
1) You develop an eating disorder. IT IS HELL, I PROMISE.
2) You are sucessful for a few days, lose a few pounds and start to eat normally. You gain it back. You diet again. You gain it back. You diet again, etc.,If you want to lose weight, you just have to buckle down and do it the right way. I know it's hard, but you have to eat at least 1200 calories a day for your body to just perform normal tasks, otherwise it will start to shut down. If you eat less than that, your body thinks it is starving and goes into a survival mode where it slows your metabolism way down so that you won't burn many calories. This is your body's way of trying to preserve every calorie you take in, and let me tell you it is HARD to fix your metabolism once you've fucked it up. You should try some good old fashioned running to try and tone up instead of actually losing weight. Good luck!!

QUESTION:
How can I lose weight fast but accurately? What things do I need to focus on the most?
Im over-weight and I really need to lost weight but its hard, and it takes forever to lose just one freakin pound! I dont know what to do! Sometimes I get confused, and sometimes, I just want to give up because I dont seem to be accomplishing anything! HELP!!!-
ANSWER:
To accomplish a goal, one must approach it with vigor- something must drive you to want to achieve this goal more than anyone else in the same shoes. You must tell yourself that you will not accept defeat, and that you are capable of anything you set your mind to.Ok, now that we have set the mood for which we will start this healthy new regimen, we will get our feet wet with answering your second question first.
1. Even well renown doctors have used the term "You are what you eat". This statement couldn't be more true for the point being made. If a person wants a healthy body, he/she must feed the body with things that are healthy for it. EXAMPLE : Let's imagine you own a 500,000 SPORTS CAR, would you put diesel gasoline in it, or would you put the gasoline it requires? The only answer anyone would ever give is that they would put the finest of unleaded gasoline into that gas tank of the Ferrari. I personally believe that your body is worth more than a Ferrari is, the only question is, are you feeding your biggest and most important investment the proper foods that it requires for it to run at maximum capacity? Currently, the answer is most likely NO.
I can completely understand where you come from, and I was not always in awesome shape as I am now, but I want to help others achieve their dream, just like I am achieving mine with tremendous success. I use to be totally out of shape, and it bugged me, because I knew I wasn't treating my body with the ultimate respect it deserves.
Eating very healthy foods on a DAILY basis, and no longer "treating yourself" to some of those indulgences that you "might" be having a bit too often.
Drinking water ona constant basis will give you a more full feeling on a constant basis, as well as it will help flush osme of those toxins in your body out. If you want something to speed the process up a bit when getting rid of toxins, I can personally vouge for DUAL ACTION CLEANSE.....sold at health food stores~ like GNC.
Also, I know that sometimes water doesn't taste too appealing. Using those small little packets made by Propel or Crystal Lite is a healthy way to enjoy "FLAVOR" without comprimising this new healthy lifestyle you plan on starting.
----------------------------------------------------
What about Food? What types of Food can I eat that are tasty, but still healthy for me.
----------------------------------------------------
I know exactly how you feel, I love something with good flavor, and nothing bland.1. Meats ----stay away from fatty cuts of meat, and only buy the EXTREMELY LEAN cuts. As far as flavor, feel comfortable picking up some dry seasonings you can mix in with olive oil and baste onto the meat before you slap it on the GRILL/ George Foreman.
2. Veggies can be boring if you dont season them correctly, and there are many low-calorie seasonings available to moderatly sprinkle on the veggies to add that "extra zest" to your greens.
3.Salads are Great, but one can quickly RUIN the healthy title of a salad by what one adds to the salad. A few sprinkles of lowfat cheese is ok, but let your conscience be your STRICT guide. Bacon bits are a huge NO NO. There are other unhealthy things a person can add to their salad, but seeming as how I totally avoid thoughts about all the "fixings" of an elaborately unhealthy salad, because the more you think about unhealthy foods, the more one has to fight the craving not to give into temptation. DRESSINGS : Chances are, you probably enjoy Ranch as much as I do, and my best suggestion is picking up the lowest fat ranch dressing you can find.......dont punish yourself though......Hidden Valley is the best in flavor, and they have a healthy option Ranch dressing.
SNACKS: I typically pick up a protein bar and start chewing on that, as protein is a good "filler" and that helps me stay away from something I know I shouldn't have anyway. Eating carrot sticks and celery are also great ways to satisfy those snack cravings.
-----------------------------------
" I've heard Carbs are bad.....Should I stay away from carbs?"
------------------------------------These diets you hear about totally avoiding carbs are ill-given, and to be totally disregarded. Carbs can be good, but most people simply choose the wrong type of Carb, and that is what you want to avoid--The wrong type of carbs. For instance, what of the two options would you say to be the healthiest.
Peanut Butter and Jelly on White BREAD
OR
Peanut Butter and Jelly on Whole Grain BREAD ?---------Correct. the Whole Grain.
Another
You want a snack, but the only snacks available are those in a vending machine....What do you choose?
Dorritos
or
Pretzels
------------Correct.............. Pretzels -----non seasoned/ accept with salt
I think you know where I am going with this, but I just wanted to give some examples of every day decisons.
