For exercise, try switching it up (Monday work on arms, Tuesday work on stomach, Wednesday work on legs, Thursday Rest, Friday Arms, Saturday Stomach, Sunday Legs) though you can choose your own schedule/plan. Try maybe using different machines for stomach or legs or arms so your body doesn't get used to it. Also, try increasing the amount of exercise you do every week.
For eating, try portion control (70% of your diet is food intake but exercise is also important) eating the serving size and if there is no designated serving size, 1cup if it's a meal and 1/2 a cup if it's a snack.

Also, eating out of boredom, try drinking water often to prevent hunger. I also have this problem and especially when I'm exercising. (Try buying a treadmill or a few exercising supplies or maybe you can get a gym subscription) and bring with you in an insulated glass/mug full of ice b/c I always and alot of other people always want a little something to feel like their eating or munching on and this is perfect b/c it's hydrating and you get the little munch out of it.
Also, how I said about buying some equipment or gym subscription, I'd recommend you buy your own that way you pay a little extra and the rest is free not 1/2 the price every month or whatever. Try buying about the things (one for legs, one for stomach, one for legs and maybe as you get more into, you could add more). Also, if you lift weights try increasing the amount of weight each weeks or two.

Starving yourself is just as bad as burning off all the calories you ate that day, just make sure you get 1200 calories a day, and ride your bike for an hour maybe, two seems a bit extreme for now, especially if you're coming out of an inactive lifestyle. Bottom line is that it's a slow process and there is no magic and no quick fixes - so 40 lbs may not be realistic. You've got a little over 80 days and that's one pound every two days - that requires pretty intense training (burning over 1,000 calories a day and weights).
But it's just science - certain principles apply to everybody (male and female, young and old). I'm training right now with a bodybuilder so anything I can do to help, just let me know.

Try and stick to a clean diet. Lean protein, complex carbs, lower sugar intake, lots of fruits and vegetables and so forth.Capoeira is pretty intense so if you are doing it a few times a week or more for an hour at a time or so you should start seeing results. Practice Capoeira even if you don't have a class that night. Twenty pounds by late September is possible. Good luck!
To expand on the 20 pounds, ideally you want to lose 2 pounds or so a week since this is healthy amount and you are more likely to keep it off. There are still 8 weeks until late September so that's 16 pounds there. You can also take into account that you are fairly heavy already so you should see faster results in the first couple weeks which can easily account for the additional 4 pounds. So if you stick to it and keep motivated you can lose the 20 pounds.
As for the scheduling meals some people swear by the 6 small meals a day. It's a good idea since it will always keep your metabolism up but often times it isn't practical. Especially if you have to go to work. Above all make sure you eat a good sized breakfast as it will start your metabolism for the day and make you less hungry later in evening.

Remember it is not good to lose weight too fast because if you lose the weight fast, you will gain it back fast as well.Here are some tips and guidelines for weight loss:
You should first calculate your Body Mass Index (BMI) and your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR). These are two important tools that will become the foundation of any healthy diet plan. I will include links below for you to do this.
In case you don't know, your BMI determines if you are in a healthy weight range and allows you to set goals for how much weight you should lose to achieve that healthy weight loss goal.
