Iron deficiency is a serious health condition in which a person suffers from the inadequacy of iron in the body. Iron is an es 00004000 sential component of haemoglobin as it is the carrier of oxygen in our blood. Deficiency of iron can hamper the normal functioning of our body and can make us prone to numerous health hazards.
Although it is not very difficult to spot the signs and symptoms of the deficiency of iron but in case of mild or moderate iron-deficiency, the patient may experience no symptoms at all. In such cases, diagnosis of iron-deficiency can be easily carried out by taking a few blood tests. The most common symptom of iron deficiency is tiredness or fatigue.
It may also cause shortness of breath, dizziness, pale skin, brittle nails, soreness of tongue, and cracks in the sides of the mouth and so on. Patients of iron deficiency become more prone to infections and may experience cravings for various non-food items such as dirt, paint, ice or starch. In women, very heavy menstrual bleeding, elongated periods, or other vaginal bleeding may act as the warning signals, indicating the deficiency of iron.
Iron deficiency can occur both in men and women of all age-groups; but women, adolescents and those who are vegetarians are at higher risks of developing this disorder. Iron deficiency is basically caused either due to poor absorption of iron by the body or due to inadequate intake of iron in the daily diets. It can also occur due to heavy blood loss or because of the excessive use of various anti-inflammatory medications.
Treatment of iron-deficiency can begin at home itself. Eating a diet rich in the iron content such as green leafy vegetables, dry-fruits, brown rice, prunes, breads and pastas is the most important part of the iron-deficiency treatment. At the same time, excessive intake of coffee, tea and ingesting antacids should be avoided as they tend to decrease the absorption of iron. Iron- deficiency can also be treated by a couple of natural herbs such as:
A. Yellow dock
B. Dandelion
C. Beetroot
D. Blackstrap molasses
E. Nettle leaf etc.
Iron deficiency can also be treated through the alternative-remedy of the Ayurveda. Ayurveda offers a vast range of herbal supplements which are highly beneficial in coping with the iron-deficiency. One such natural health supplement is AnemiCare which improvises the blood by escalating the natural absorption of iron. It also helps in reducing the dizzy spells and fatigue by improving your stamina and vitality. This herbal supplements supplies all the essential nutrients to the blood and ascertains optimum levels of strength and vigour. Enhance your body functioning by replenishing your iron deficiency through the age-old trusted medicinal science of Ayurveda.

QUESTION:
Anyone know of any herbal supplements for weight loss?-
ANSWER:
yes! herbal tea - (green tea, white tea, oolong/red tea) all contains polyphenols which have a range of benefits. you can get green tea which has been oxidised, black tea, completely oxidised, oolong/red tea which is semi-oxidised or white tea, unoxidised. the difference is that oxidation causes stronger concentrations of caffiene which stimulate the metabolism and therefore you lose weight.however, unoxidised or less oxidised tea, if you drink it before you eat, causes your insulin levels to rise which burns fat. also, drinking any sort of chinese/japanese herbal tea 15 minutes before eating increases energy expenditure 10%. if you drink tea immediately after eating, you burn an extra 10% of fats. also, note that green tea has only 4 calories per cup!
Also, it is believed that the polyphenols in tea seem to aid in the digestion of fat, truly making it a Chinese diet tea.
also, Japanese researchers claim if you drink five cups of green tea a day, you'll burn 70 to 80 extra calories. Dr. Nicholas Perricone, an anti-aging specialist, appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show and told Oprah's viewers they can lose 10 lbs. in 6 weeks drinking green tea instead of coffee
not to mention herbal tea has a wide range of health benefits - i.e women drinking 4-6 cups a day have 46% less chance of getting ovarian cancer, it's an anti-aging substance - notice how women in asia have beautiful skin and look years younger?
green tea burns up calories and stimulates your metabolism, provided of course, you don't add any sugar or milk or whatever. if you want green tea to work, you need to drink 4-6 cups a day and you should see results not only in your weight, but your overall body. green tea is a natural relaxer and it also helps clear your skin!
also, herbal tea is a natural laxative. personally, i went from 46 kilos (im 5"1) to 39 kilos drinking 6 cups a day for a few months b/c herbal tea supresses your appetite.
good luck, and check out the links below, they are really helpful!

QUESTION:
Weight loss, and herbal supplements?
I am a female, 5"7" and I weigh, on average, 123.
I know that I am "healthy," according to many weight loss calculation charts.
However, I have excess fat on my tummy, thighs, and butt.Today, I bought "smart cleanse" - the 30 day supplements.
I do NOT have an eating disorder, I am VERY aware of the dangers of going about losing weight that way. What I'm asking from the community (you,) is to share success stories, advice, and lots of details.
This is my plan:
-eat a 200 calorie breakfast, with my coffee
-skip lunch, or eat no more than 300 calories (i get out of school at 2:50)
-eat at 5 pm (no more than 400 calories)
-exercise (jogging) for 30 minutes, at least a few times a weekBased on your expierience, how fast can I lose 10-15 pounds with this plan?
Once again, I'm not looking for ignorant responses that state the unessecary, and the obvious, ect.I plan on going about this the healthy way, but I also want my calorie intake to remain below 600 a day, for at LEAST the first week. Because, I know you lose more the first few days than anything.
I realize that, I do, but what I'm looking for is
- expiriences
- advice thats true and effective
- information and details on how much weight i'll lose by following the above ^^^
because it will provide me with real knowledge and inspire me to lose my desired 10 pounds, minimumthankyou for reading me ramble and taking the time to answer<3

ANSWER:
Pointers on Losing Weight SafelyPeople who want to lose weight commonly, and first of all, think about reducing the amount of food they eat. This may be quite a solution but not exactly the best there is. In fact, depending on the amount you reduce in your food intake, it may even be dangerous to one's health. So how does one lose weight effectively and safely? Here are some points one should consider when trying to lose weight:
Beware of the Crash Diets
Most people think that trimming down the calories can alone shed off their unwanted excess. Probably this is because of the fad there is in advertising about low-calorie food products and beverages. What people don't know is that this could be dangerous because when they decrease their calorie intake way to below the required levels, the body begins to digest the fats. Sounds good but it doesn't actually. Burning fat requires a lot of energy. Since there is not much energy in the body to facilitate metabolism of fat, it will run at a very slow pace resulting to fatigue, illness and weak immune system.
Low-calorie diet is also compensated for by the body by burning muscle. People on this type of diet who revert back to their old eating habits end up gaining back some, if not all the weight they have shed off. This would consist mainly of fats. And since fats have more volume per mass than muscle, they end up having the same weight as before but more bulkier. In losing weight, one should keep in mind that they should lose excess body fats only.
However, one can try out eating small meals at more frequent intervals. This way the body will not think that it is being starved and will not store food as fat.
Eat Properly
One may have considered junking the crash diet option but he should also not forget to watch what he is eating. Variety must always be considered so that one may be able to get the necessary nutrients from his diet.It is also healthier to eat food which are roasted, steamed or broiled rather than fried. It is also important to include a lot of fiber in the diet. Frequent rehydration is also necessary.
Pump Up lean Muscle Mass
Muscles burn calories when they work; they even do so at rest. Unlike fats which just lie around, bulge around the pants and dangle beneath the sleeves, muscles burn calories all-day round. With this fact, one can start weight loss by increasing muscle mass. The more muscles, the less fat will be left. This is attainable starting with working out with resistance exercises.
Engaging in Aerobics
Aerobics are not only good for the heart by increasing cardio-vascular endurance. Aerobics also help in increasing lean muscle mass while simultaneously decreasing excess body fat. Aside from these, aerobics make the metabolic process more efficient and its rate high, even after a long while. Imagine burning fat efficiently while driving along the freeway or even while watching television.
Extra "Push"
Some people believe that smoking and caffeine can actually help in losing weight. This can perhaps be true; however, they do the body more harm than good because of their side-effects. For that extra "push", one can try out taking food supplements. Afterall, 95% of these products out in the market actually does good.
On Taking Diet Pills
Over-the-counter diet pills affect the amount of weight one loses as well as how long one keeps that amount of weight off. However, one must be wary of the side-effects of these diet pills. As such, one must faithfully follow the instructions provided for in the packaging. It is also prudent to consult the physician anyway before trying out these drugs and also to find out which type would be best for the individual.
Losing weight does not have to mean sacrifice and suffering. It actually means opening up to a more full and healthy life where one may not have to feel bad about himself having to look the way he does or not being able to do what he wants to do. Losing weight might entail a little adjustments plus the discomforts, but as the old saying goes, "no pain, no gain." Besides fat, what has one got to lose anyway?
Here's hoping this helps you on your way. If there is any more I can do just contact me.

ANSWER:
Eat meals that consist of a balance of proteins, complex carbohydrates, and some fat. Proteins can increase your metabolic rate by as much as 30%, and help to balance the release of insulin by prompting secretion of the pancreatic hormone glucagons. Protein-induced glucagons, mobilizes fats from the tissues in which it is stored, thus aiding in weight loss. By eating balanced meals you get more steady blood sugar levels and the ability to burn stored body fat for long-term weight loss. Eat mainly plant proteins, such as nut, seeds, and grains.Eat fresh fruits and an abundance of raw vegetables. Have one meal each day that consists entirely of vegetables and fruits. Use more low calorie vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, cucumbers, green beans, kale, lettuce, onions, radishes, spinach, and turnips. Eat more of the low calorie, low-carbohydrate fruits including, apples, cantaloupe, grapefruit, strawberries, and watermelon.
Eat foods raw where possible. Drink 8 – 10 glasses of water each day. Also include home made fruit juices and vegetable juices in your diet. Eat a wide variety of fruits and vegetables - at least all kinds that you can get your hands on. Just eat more of the low cal., low carb ones. And do not forget to take exercise.

Expertise on fat-burning/weight loss health supplements???
Hi Everybody!I am asking anyone, although I appreciate the input from the ladies since I am one:
I'm looking for a fat-burning/weight loss-esque supplement. Not anything unhealthy or that makes you jittery. More herbal and helpful.
I work a sedentary job and live in LA! With 2-3 hours of commute time EVERY DAY exercise is possible, but I could use an energy boost and a little extra help.
I am in no way looking for some man-made chemical but rather a mixture of something natural?
Thanks friends!

ANSWER:
There are no pills that you can take that will help you "increase your metabolism and burn fat." Caffeine is a good substance to utilize if you are looking for some assistance. It will help increase fatty acid mobilization and you'll be able to prolong your workouts thus creating a higher caloric deficit.

Ok I am tired of answers that say eat healthy and exersize frequently and that solves all the problems well lets snap back into reality my dad has Diabetes and we have been eating and exersizing like crazy for 5 years now and I have not lost a single pound I am some what over weight and very angry about this I want someone who knows what they are talking about to help me not just give me the same thing over and over again I want to know the best way to lose weight like herbal supplements or something like that I really appreciate it
Ok when it comes to eating I eat properly I do not over eat and I don't smoke and I don't have Diabetes my mom is overweight though and I am thinking it might be genetics but I later found out that she just eats too much I am a big health freak and I do not revolve my world around food if possible it is the exact opposite I would forget to eat if not for my dad.-
ANSWER:
Okay first I must insist of a dumb answer...You are not overweight, it is psychology. If you believe in your self you will lose 10 pounds a week.
Now...
My mom is diabetic. She can be considered overweight. Now since you don't want a 'diet and exercise' response, I must say she doesn't smoke.
The whole point is not just to change to healthier foods, but less food overall. If less cals are consumed, the fat will start to be burned.

ANSWER:
There is so much garbage out there in the field of herbal supplements, and most of them (99.9%) have no effect on weight loss, despite the claims that they make on the box. Instead, what I'd recommend is to consider the cause of the weight gain, and take action in a different way. For me, it was a mild depression that I wasn't even aware of. If that is the case for you, as it is for many people, taking the herb Rhodiola rosea on a daily basis can actually help a lot with weight loss. That's because it has a proven track record of mental uplift, and when you feel better about yourself, you feel less need to stuff your face. It also gives you the desire to be more energetic and this helps burn calories. When shopping for Rhodiola rosea, buy the Swedish variety called SHR-5 (an extract available in only a couple of Rhodiola products, one brand is Swedish Herbal Institute). I've tried several, and this one has all the clinical trials behind it and the absolute best quality. Good luck!

ANSWER:
Personally i would' t recommend using those weight loss pills as when you come off of them you will have trouble staying on the straight and narrow. If i was you i would right down a list of all the food that you eat during one day. Then just take out one thing i.e a biscuit at lunch and then combine this with a 30 minute walk 4 times a week. if you really want to miss meals then use a basic protein shake.

QUESTION:
What was you best way to lose weight?
What (in detail) have been the best weight loss attempts have really worked for you? Was it a particular diet, exercise, herbal supplements? I have tried all the above at some point or other, but after a couple of years and now time where I can dedicate myself - I am looking for something that works if I devote to it. What worked for you and how did you do it?-
ANSWER:
I have been through it all and know what's it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can't be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I've worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.
First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can't eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising...
This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it's good for the heart.
However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It's so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I've found a great addition to help any one out, it's a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don't get all crazy on me and say diet pills don't work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn't meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It's an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace .com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it's the best pill I've tried and I've tried cupboards full. Now this doesn't mean you have to follow my foot steps but I've successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.
Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.

QUESTION:
Weight loss plateau?
I work out regularly, eat healthy, generally maintain a healthy lifestyle. However my weight loss has plateaued and I cant seem to do anything to get rid of 20lbs no matter how much I change up my work out routine or food. I think I would like to try herbal supplement, or diet pills to jumpstart my metabolism. Anyone know of any that actually work (ive seen ads for a pink patch, wu-yi oolong tea...etc). Has anyone tried any of these and recomend anything?-
ANSWER:
this happened to me too. just keep going the way you are, your body is getting used to your routines. Drink more water, that boosts you metabolism. summer's on the way and that may help. also stress, if you have any try to ease it with a hobby( try a non work out hobby first, the point is to relax, unless working out does the trick)
this worked for me, hope it works for you. good luck!

QUESTION:
Do fat burning supplements ( herbal and natural) really work?
I often see supplements that supposedly rev up the metabolism in the drug stores. I have also heard of products such as apple cider vinegar and also others-ALA in certain dosages, etc., being effective in weight loss. I'd like to know if anyone has direct experience with taking these supplements and what the outcome was.
Polite, sincere, constructive answers only please. (For those of you who are going to recommend diet and exercise, I agree that this is the best way to approch weight loss.) However, I am asking specifically about these supplements because I would like to know only about these supplements and if they work, or not as the case may be.-
ANSWER:
Yes, they work quite well... but you have to do your homework to avoid going for the hype.
You already know that diet and exercise is required to get the benefits (which is very good), so I won't cover that, but make sure you look at the ingredients on any of the products first. Chromium will help with metabolism, but be careful if you have any problems with blood sugar, as it can throw blood sugar off (it can be too much support for blood sugar health). L-Carnitine and CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid) are good for metabolism and burning fat as well when used with exercise, so those are big ones to look for.
Apple Cider Vinegar on the other hand is a good cleanser... it doesn't directly impact your metabolism or weight loss, but it helps a little indirectly. Alpha Lipoic Acid is a great antioxidant, but it also doesn't help directly for weight loss (only indirectly).
Those are just a couple examples, so keep an eye out and read over and check the ingredients before you buy any of them... that'll give the best boost to your diet and exercise regimen you've set up. Congratulations on wanting to better yourself and good luck!

QUESTION:
weight loss advice please =]?
I've been on my new diet for 4 days (the fourth day now) and I've already lost 1.76pounds. I only drink water and watch what I eat. I count calories eaten and burned and I always make sure Ive burned more calories than Ive consumed. I havent been exercising yet coz Im waiting for my treadmill to arrive but I work 8.5hour days and Im on my feet the whole time. I am also using fat blaster max, its a herbal diet supplement theres actually nothing it in chemical wise. Everything that is in it is herbal, like green tea for metabolism etc. I looked into it before I purchased it and its been reviewed to work. Plus Im having no side effects. My question is, do you think the 1.76pounds would mostly be water weight? Or actual stored fats being burned? (Coz in a roundabout way Im not eating any fats coz theyre being disposed of by the diet pill so youd think youd be burning your fat stores straight away). Also, do you think the weight loss will continue like this? or will it plateau?
Oh Im 20 years old. Starting weight of 140.21pounds, current weight 138.45. Im 5'4. And my goal weight is 114pounds.
To the third post, I am eating normally. Im just making sure I have healthy choices and lower calories and portions.
And no i will not become a vegetarian. I like meat too much. And I hate most vegetables.
I already walk 8.5 hours a day because Im on my feet all day for work. On my days off I will run 2hrs. So Im getting enough exercise too.
Oh, forgot to add (also to third post). There's no problem with me eating fast food we have no maccas, KFC, hungry jacks, pizza hut, eagle boys, dominos, red rooster etc etc etc where i live.-
ANSWER:
Me all I do is eat veggies and exercise at least 5 times a week and I keep on moving like tapping my legs while sitting it helps more calories to be burnt and be active
I lost about 10 lbs in 2 weeks

QUESTION:
Should I use Adderall as a weight loss pill?
I'm 19 years old and a male. I weigh around 270 and am 6'2". My doctor has recently informed me that I am at risk of developing diabetes if i do not get my weight under control. For the last three months i have strictly been following a low carb no sugar diet, and have been doing intense cardio exercises for an hour a day, 5 days a week. Having only lost three pounds in the three months, it seems like i need a boost. Is adderall that boost? If not are there any other suggestions? Any other medication or herbal supplement?-
ANSWER:
Do NOT. Don't do it. Don't.Intense cardio: describe it to me, please. Are you lifting weights as well? Are you watching your caloric intake? How often are you eating--are you sure you're not over- or under-feeding?
Your boost should come from switching up your training regime; maybe even undertaking HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) programs instead of sustained long-duration cardio... because that doesn't really help drop the pounds after a short period of adaptation. HIIT gets harder as you get fitter. Lift weights!
Lift weights!
Lift weights!
Don't look for quick fixes; they'll demolish your body. If you can afford it, maybe look into getting a (good, knowledgeable) personal trainer, or a dietician...
Don't resort to using amphetamines; your heart will hate you for it.

QUESTION:
Is Prescopodene all natural and safe for weight loss?
I am an avid fan of natural herbal remedies, as influenced by my mum. So I am looking for an all natural herbal food supplement that will help me with my weight problem. I am at 86 kg (190 lbs) now and I'm definitely overweight for my height of 175cm (5 ft 9"). I want to lose 25 kg (55lbs).My friend is recommending Prescopodene. She is not overweight but she has an aunt who used it before. I just want to hear from someone who already used it if its really safe and does not have any side effect and if its really all natural.
Will appreciate your answers on this.

ANSWER:
Prescopodene is the pill I took after I had stopped taking Ionamin. Although I lost weight with Ionamin, my heart kept palpitating wildly, I developed bad breath and worst, I can't sleep at night!Presco is a better alternative. I did not experience any side effects with it, and I was able to lose 23 kgs! I believe it's natural since it's made of clinically proven herbs for weight loss such as green tea.

Herbal life is good and gives results if you put your mind and heart fully into it
Its supplements helps you but u need to understand that if u are on weight loss program you need to zip up your mouth and after you have reached your goal or targeted weight you will need to maintain it. If you won't maintain your weight you will gain back and blame it on herbal life.

QUESTION:
Thyroid supplements and leptin supplements?
I'm not overweight, BMI wise I fall into the normal category, but I am looking to lose 10 lbs that I gained after working in a pastry shop for a year.I've read a lot about herbal thyroid supplements helping people lose weight (along with diet and exercise, of course) as well as leptin supplements. I do not have a thyroid condition, but was wondering if these supplements are safe for people without a thyroid condition and actually aid in weight loss. I'm not interested in diet pills that claim to drop pounds, so if these are similar I'd like to know.
Any advice or personal experiences are greatly appreciated.
And also, I am only 19 if that matters any.
Thank you.
-
ANSWER:
It depends on what's in the thyroid supplement. Some herbs stimulate the thyroid gland sufficiently that they can create a hyperthyroid picture if a healthy person takes them. And supplementing with iodine when it's not needed can also cause problems. The thyroid gland is involved in setting the basal metabolic rate. But if your thyroid is healthy, it's not in your best interest to "muck with" thyroid hormones.
Healthier options would include EGCg (green tea extract) or even short term use of red/Korean ginseng (Panax ginseng). These are both mildly stimulating. You could also try the fiber-based options like PGX, which will aid blood sugar control and provide a sense of satiety (fullness) in a healthy way, thereby acting like a bit of an appetite suppressant.
My best advice? Eat LOADS of fresh fruits and veggies in an overall balanced diet. Include protein in your morning meal. Breathe deeply. Move joyfully (and do it often! With varying intensities.) Sleep well. And laugh often. Provided there are no underlying problems/endocrine issues, you'll lose weight and be healthier and happier overall.

Share Some Weight Loss Tips / Hints / Stories With Me?
Alrighty, so I've been meaning to start a diet and though I've done a couple of successful ones in the past, I'd like tips on how to start over again, because I'm lacking the motivation to stick to one this time for some reason.
I gained 50lbs. after I started dating my fiance- according to friends I just got 'fat and happy'- but I'm really beginning to have trouble with the immense weight-gain and want to reach my goal weight within around 6 months, if possible. The most weight I've read about someone losing in a month is about 16-17lbs, which I'd love to be able to do.
Anyways, I'd love some tips on things to do, what not to do, things to or to not eat, exercise routines that might work, etc. (Also, please note that I am a college student who is a student full time and I also hold a job, so devoting intense time to a gym would be difficult. I really need exercise ideas that would be easy to do in a dorm room in minimal space)
Also, though I'm wary of supplements and pills, if you've taken a medicine or herbal remedy (teas, etc) that helped you to lose, let me know about those too!
Also feel free to share your own weight loss stories... they're inspirational!

QUESTION:
Weight loss, weight gain.. It never ends.?
My diet is always the same: No sugar except for the artificial sweetner Stevia, Stevia plus. No juices only fruit allowed is green apples, berries, avocados, grapefruit, lemons, limes. I can eat any meat except for breaded ones. Not allowed egg substitutes. No dairy except for yogurt and cream cheese. All veggies except for potatoes and legumes. Only water and non fruity herbal teas. No grains allowed. No yeast allowed. Unpaturized vinegars. For oils, olives, grape seeds, flax. And only raw nuts.
That is my diet. I am consistant with it and dont eat what is not on the list. My problem is that I fluctuate between 125lbs and 135 lbs (sometimes more weight) and every month I am somewhere around that weight. I exersize vigorously every day except for sundays and rotate between cardio and strength. My target weight is between 110-115 lbs. (Im 19 and 5'3'') Am I doing something wrong?
I also wondered if there was a faster way to reach my target weight. I dont have as high of self asteem as I did whenever I actually weighed my target weight. I dont have money for supplements (or free samples online because I cant pay the shipping) I have considered doing the throwing up and smoking thing but I want to be healthly and those were when I was feeling desparate. What should I do?
My main problem is that my weight changes a lot, drastically about every month. I go from 125 ( which I like) to 135 to sometimes 143lbs and then back down the next month. I am happy at 125 I just want to know why my weight keeps on shifting on consistant diet and exersise.-
ANSWER:
Babes....my prob is d same ...n i m 20...bt y do u get disheartened....beat dis tendency of gaining weight wid a positive attitude...!
First, you must realize your DIGESTIVE SYSTEM, properly
functioning, is the FOUNDATION of your bodily health. From your
mouth to the hole at the other end is some 30 feet of passage way
and yet you only have immediate control over the first 3 inches
(your mouth). You have immediate control over WHAT you put in your mouth.
You have immediate control over WHEN you put food into your mouth.
You have immediate control over HOW you prepare what you put in
your mouth. So long as you are relaxed, the remaining 29 and some odd feet
pretty much runs on auto pilot. So the obvious questions are, WHAT, WHEN and HOW to eat?
WHAT TO EAT: Any common staple foods which you enjoy eating, "real
meals"; you can relax, there is no need to carry around special
food and supplements for fear that carbs are bad, fat is bad or
whatever. FORGET all that information and know you can go
anywhere, and eat at any table the stables of the area and still
get good results. Remember, deep down inside of you, you've know
this stuff all along. You know that all over the world there are
people who eat standard, everyday food yet still have flat bellies
and good health. As a side note, water by itself can't be considered food as it
has no nutriment and therefore should not be treated as such. You
should drink water whenever you feel thirst and always when you
feel thirst. Our bodies are mostly made up of water which needs to
be maintained.WHEN TO EAT: To be blunt, when you are hungry! You knew I was going
to say that didn't you? Now, here is the kicker. Most people are confused about what real
hunger really is because they have maybe never actually felt it.
You see, most people have something of a food addiction which they
confuse for hunger. Food addictions and cravings usually result in
the tell tale WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS which drive people to eat
unnecessarily. Such symptoms as:- growling gut
- empty stomach feeling
- light headed feeling
- fear of getting hungry
- restless agitation...are those of ADDICTION WITHDRAWALS.
Real hunger on the other hand is calm and is associated with a
slight LUMP feeling in the throat. Most people in the Western world
have never experienced real hunger. Real hunger is the body telling
you to eat. This is when your DIGESTIVE SYSTEM is primed with
maximum power. When you follow the instructions I will give, you will begin to
feel hunger. Know that hunger is your friend because it tells you
when your body NEEDS nourishment. Here is what has worked for me
and thousand of others:OMIT BREAKFAST: You are not truly hungry for breakfast. You have
been trained to believe it is the most important meal of the day
but it is unnecessary because when you have eaten an evening meal
and slept, you have charged and rebuilt your cells. Therefore, you
are ready to go in the morning. You do not need to eat again until
hunger calls for it.Most working people will feel hunger around noon but perhaps not
until later. When this happens, eat a moderate meal of staple foods
which you enjoy. There is no need to eat things you don't like the
taste of. Eat what is tasty to you.Eat a light evening meal once again only if you are hungry, also of
common staple foods. By staple foods I mean everyday food such as,
meat and potatoes, rice, bread and butter and so on. I don't mean
chocolate bars, though they too can have their place. You see,
there are times to, "eat drink and be merry". The last thing you
want is to be hard on yourself and live like a puritan or
something. If you want a chocolate bar or whatever for the pure
pleasure once in a while, go for it. Life is to be enjoyed! Eat it
in the same manner as below and it too will nourish you well.HOW TO EAT: Now read and remember the following: Fully TASTE and
CHEW your food until it turns to liquid and naturally goes down
through involuntary swallowing. Relax, about this stuff, this will
all become natural with practice. Also, while you are eating,
maintain an ATTITUDE of CHEERFUL CONFIDENCE that the food you eat
and the method by which you eat it will thoroughly nourish your
body. And, remember to be THANKFUL for the food you have and the
pleasure it gives you.I talked about your POWER within in the last part of this eCourse.
Among other times, it is here where you must draw upon your POWER
in the form of will and perseverance to change your HABITS. Begin to
VISUALIZE yourself as one who no longer needs breakfast, who fully
TASTES and CHEWS his/her food and as one who maintains a CHEERFUL
CONFIDENT ATTITUDE.When you trip up and fall back to your old ways as we all do,
FORGIVE yourself and move on the constructive way. Never beat
yourself up. You win or loose here in your ability to contr

QUESTION:
Is the 'Cabbage soup diet' really good for you?
I am curious what you all think, this is my diet plan for the next month,1 Drink skim milk and wheat toast with natural peanut butter for breakfast. Take your multivitamin supplement, and weight loss pill.
2 Do your stretching exercises and cycle for 30 mins.
3 three times a week do your strength training which includes
Lunges, Planks, and Push ups.4 Eat Cabbage soup diet plan for lunch and dinner.
At lunch time take your calcium and weight loss pill.5 Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.
6 Drink herbal tea with lemon to relax before bed. And take one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar.
Does that sound like a good meal plan?
After two weeks i am introducing lean fish into the soup at dinner time.
For snacks i was going to add apples and almonds or some kind of nut ^^.Oh and the cabbage diet, isnt just cabbage so you know, this is what it consists of...
6 large green onions
2 green peppers
1 or 2 cans of tomatoes (diced or whole)
3 Carrots
1 Container (10 oz. or so) Mushrooms
1 bunch of celery
half a head of cabbage
1 package Lipton soup mix
1 or 2 cubes of bouillon (optional)
1 48oz can V8 juice (optional)
Season to taste with salt, pepper, parsley, curry, garlic powder, etc.-
ANSWER:
I have done the cabbage soup diet and it was successful for me, however after I stopped the cabbage soup, I gained weight back almost immediately, even though I was still eating healthily and exercising. You really shouldn't eat the cabbage soup for longer than a week at a time. It's a catabolic food, so you're burning more calories than you're taking in. Doing it any longer than a week could be more harmful than helpful. Also, be prepared to feel hungrier more often. You should plan to add a couple of small snacks throughout the day, or plan to eat more soup. Other than that, it sounds pretty good. Good luck!

QUESTION:
What would be a good weight loss regimen for a 5'3 woman with a bmi of 34?
I know about the exercises and stuff, and about portion control. But what supplements should I take? My thyroid is a little low so I was thinking about taking the vitamin shoppe brand thyroid sp-26, solgar's herbal diuretic, and irwin naturals oolong and matcha tea capsules.Any other recommendations? I know its not that healthy to take all of that at once, but I need to drop 60+ pounds by January next year for my wedding. I need something that will help me drop it fast and that I can taper off later. I don't need to hear preaching about how bad it is, I already know. My mom is a nutritionist and is driving me up the wall. But I know my metabolism just doesn't work that fast. But its not slow enough to get on prescribed medication. I already cut out most salt and sugars and I drink a gallon or more of water a day. I go for three walks a day about a mile each time in the stroller or on my bike with my daughter. And I'm eating fist sized portions. In two months I have lost three freakin pounds, and now because of water weight on my period I just gained it back. I'm very frustrated and discouraged. So please no preaching, I'm desperate...

In the 15 years I've known her, she has not stopped counting calories, avoiding carbs, taking up fad diets (South Beach, Atkins, Weight Watchers, Master Cleanse, etc., etc.), and skipping meals altogether. Our refrigerator contains nothing but low-fat / fat-free / diet / low-calorie / 0-calorie / negative-calorie products. Now, just a few days ago, I found something that really sent up a red flag: a stash of appetite suppressants and diet pills that fills a kitchen drawer and two cupboards. It includes:-"Quick Boost" Energy Drink Mix / Dietary Supplement from Quick Weight Loss Center (24 boxes, each containing 14 units)
-"Herbal-Slim Lite" from Quick Weight Loss Center (3 bottles, each containing 180 capsules)
-"EFA" Essential Fatty Acid Dietary Supplement from Quick Loss Weight Center (8 bottles, each containing 120 capsules)
-"Carb Blocker" from Quick Loss Weight Center (8 bottles, each containing 90 capsules)
-"Herbal-Slim Metabolizer" from Quick Loss Weight Center (4 bottles, each containing 180 capsules)
-"15-Day Weight Loss Cleanse & Flush" (1 bottle containing 60 capsules)
-"Fücothin" Concentrated Fucoxanthin (1 bottle containing 60 capsules)
-"Zenergize: Burn" Natural Weight Loss Boost (2 boxes, each containing 10 units)
-"Naturalean Complete: Trim Effects Crave Control Formula" (1 bottle containing 100 capsules)
-"Glycotrol" from the Houston Weight Loss & Lipo Center (2 bottles, each containing about 50 pills)
-"Slim Shots" Liquid Appetite Controller (1 box containing 30 shots)
I hope my stepmother is not taking all of these products concurrently. It appears that she's at least sampled each one, and worked her way through many of them. A quick glance over these products reveals that few, if any, are FDA-approved. "Slim Shots" claims that four separate studies point to the efficacy of their product, but I can't find any of these studies published anywhere. The claims of some of the other products (e.g. Fücothin) seem to be based on results of preliminary studies that have not yet been replicated. And although they all claim to be "all-natural" and "chemical-free," they seem to have effects on the body that could still be dangerous: altering the pancreas' absorption capacity, changing the body's base metabolic rate, making the body feel full when it is actually hungry, etc. And isn't GlycoTrol intended for people with diabetes? I know my stepmother is not diabetic.
The worst part is that my sister and stepsister, both teenagers, have learned that the compulsive quest for thinness is completely normal and that taking supplements for weight loss is nothing unusual. My sister, who is 19 and perfectly thin, berated me today after I criticized her for taking Sim Shots. She claims to have her own sizable stash in her room somewhere.
Am I making a big deal out of nothing, or is there cause for legitimate concern here? Is this grounds for some sort of intervention? Should I talk to my doctor?
I should probably add that I've heard through the family grapevine that my stepmother has suffered from eating disorders as a teenager and young woman.-
ANSWER:
Hi, thats so wonderful that you are concerned about her. I definitely would be as well. My parents are both in the medical field so I know a bit myself about these sort of things. I would suggest first going to the person with the most sway over your stepmom and get them to talk to her about the very serious potenial health problems that could arrise from what shes doing. Talking to a doctor is by no means a bad thing to do. If it means the health of your stepmom, I would suggest arranging a meeting with your stepmom, her doctor, and possibly yourself if the doctor needs someone from the outside of her problem to give their opinion...
i hope this helps.

QUESTION:
Herbal medicine for cirrhosis?
My sister had Inherited diseases of iron disorder (hereditary hemochromatosis) from my father. This diseases damage her liver cell and her liver had a small scar (cirrhosis). She has never been drink or got chronic hepatitis B and C. But She still has gone through everday with the signs and symptoms of cirrhosis — weight loss, fatigue, sleepless, abdoment pain. Everybody has any suggestion or any different medicine such as Herbal herbs and nutritional supplements , please tell us.-
ANSWER:
Your sister is no doubt being followed by a hematologist for her hemochromatosis and probably gets routine transfusions. The ONLY things she should be taking are what her doctor has prescribed. I'm sure that you love her and want to help her and you may feel helpless to do so. But please do not solicit suggestions. The majority of the people who answer these questions have no medical background, no understandiing of anatomy and physiology, no knowledge of the disease process. Any advice given could be potentially harmful. The best help you can give your sister is to make sure she follows her doctor's advice, give her emotional support and assist her in her daily activities.

QUESTION:
Herbalite............?
Has any1 ever used a weight loss supplement called herbalite or herbal lite. Did it work for you?How much weight did u loose?-
ANSWER:
HerbLife is a pyramid selling scam, and the distributors are mugs and suckers who try to get their customers to fall for the same scam. They are the people who put flyers on the lamp posts claiming you can make lots of money from home. The nutribars and teas are just expensive cookies and stuff. There is no such thing as getting 'energy' from tea, unless you put a pile of sugar in it, or drink enough to get a buzz off the caffeine.

QUESTION:
water weight? weight plateu?
SubJ... I've seen your exact same answer on nearly every post. Seriously, people come here for individual help not some generic answer that sounds like bulls!t anyway.
STOP POINT SCAMMING.-
ANSWER:
Eat well but only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%. To have more satisfaction out of ur food, Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will also activate ur body to generate signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals. Do not go on fast or starvation diet.Nothing other than water in between.
No special diet, call it by any name or program helps as one cannot adopt them on permanent basis. Diet pills are chemicals and per se bad and shud be avoided unless the doc considers it necessary looking at ur condition.
Take light exercises and brisk walks for 30 min.regularly preferably on empty stomach and twice a day. Do not overdo.
U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time and hassle free.
Be patient and not in a hurry.
U cannot choose spots for reduction.
This schedule can be adopted on permanent basis to lead a healthy life and maintain weight.

QUESTION:
Diet pills - do they still deserve a bad rap?
Nowadays, most diet pills are a combo of herbal supplements. Are they really still addictive? Do you think they can be used effectively to lose weight? Have we just not gotten over Ephedra and the diet pills of the "olden days"? What's so bad about diet pills?Address all the issues of weight loss - "magic pills", needing to exercise even though you may find success with a diet pill, the psychology of diet pills and dieting and how those factors contribute to the good or bad of diet pills.
I'm asking this out of curiousity of what answers it will solicit, not really for my own personal need or anything.
Hi, yeah, READ THE FREAKIN' QUESTION IF YOU WANT TO ANSWER.-
ANSWER:
Diet pills are still not the long term answer to good health and many can cause negative side effects. The following healthy living recommendations will help you if you’re trying to lose weight, tone up your muscles, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:
*1) Burn more calories then you're consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity. Get a diet and fitness calculator that you can put on your computer or cell phone. This will allow you to easily calculate this formula, set goals, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities.
*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.
Avoid “High Glycemic Load Carbs” (sugar, pastries, desserts, refined starches such as breads, pasta, refined grains like white rice; high starch vegetables such as white potatoes) and drink lots of water.
Do not try fad diets or diet pills. Here is an excellent food pyramid that anyone can follow: http://www.rayandterry.com/html/images/PyramidLRG.gif?osCsid=26a424be471d1337e7c2f105d5c64d9d
*3) Exercise on most days by doing cardiovascular training and/or resistance training activities.
Read a book or find a certified trainer to make sure your doing all resistance training exercises correctly. A great book to buy that teaches you the resistance training basics is “Weight Training for Dummies”. A superb magazine to buy with resistance training routines that will not get you bored is "Muscle and Fitness". Signup for the free newsletter. A good book to buy that teaches you the cardiovascular training basics is “Fitness for Dummies”.
*4) Get plenty of sleep. Sleep experts say most adults need between seven and nine hours of sleep each night for optimum performance, health, and safety.
*5) Educate yourself continually on health issues and make a life long commitment to good health. A great free publication is “Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005”. A superb book to read is “You The Owner’s Manual”. An excellent periodic publication is the “Nutrition Action Health Letter”. A reputable test you can take to measure your biological age is at http://realage.com
Look at all areas where you can enhance your health. For example, make improvements in the quality of the air you breathe. Review outdoor air quality forecasts where you live and get an indoor air purifier. Email me if you want a good indoor air purifier recommendation and if you have other questions.

ANSWER:
Keep in mind, it is not a diet. You are slowly changing your eating habits and adding in healthier foods. I have had awesome results from these products. In 2008, I lost 35 lbs, lowering my cholesterol, my acid reflux is under control and a few other issues. I still have kept the weight off and I only use their Quick Start program and Aloe (Mango is the best). It is extremely healthy for you but remember, you need to eat healthy, get the right amount of protein and calories and drink half your weight in ounces of water. You can eat two snacks in between meals (low carb /fat, high protein).
Most people think it doesn't work because
a. they don't follow the directions and never lose weight
b. don't lose weight, yet don't think of check their measurements, you will be surprise the amount
of inches that will come off before the weight does
c. loses weight and then goes back to old eating habits
Be smart, follow the plan, work with your coach.Hope this helps, good luck.

QUESTION:
Is future pregnancy possible?
I am not currently trying to get pregnant, but I do want kids some time in the future. I have never had normal menstruation since i could remember. When I was 18 I was put on birth control. This made me spontaneously lose a dangerous amount of weight (I didn't know it at the time but this was discovered as the reason for weight loss and I was able to return to a normal weight once I got off the birth control 6 months later). After many analyses it was discovered that I should never have been put on any type of female hormonal medication. I have an underdeveloped uterus and while my ovaries used to be able to irregularly produce their follicles, they no longer can. Now, 2 years after the birth control disaster, I am taking (per doctor's orders) herbal supplements to try to regain my cycle.Has anyone had similar experience or known of somebody? Or at least known somebody with an underdeveloped womb? I really want to have a child someday, is it possible?
-
ANSWER:
It is possible, but you may need a little help from fertility meds. This really should be a question for your doctor, because I'm not a doctor. I had irregular periods, and still got pregnant. Although I miscarried, it was due to a softball size cyst on my right ovary. With an irregular period the only trouble with trying is knowing when your ovulating. I was put on herbal supplements to regulate my period as well, and so far they are working! Definitely ask your doctor though, he may have some good ideas that would help you in a future pregnancy!! Good luck, and best wishes!!
