Local Trainer finds literature agrees with less common yet more effective female workout format employed with client.
Most of the information regarding female weight training today appears universal. Much of the literature promotes light weight-high rep lifting formats with long bouts of cardio training for toning and tightening the female figure. However, a recent article on female fitness discussed what's typically a superior workout format for women. In his article Female Training Secrets, Craig Ballantyne discusses the benefits of low volume, slightly heavier weight- full body exercises combined with interval training to lean out and tone women's physiques. Craig's findings match my experience with regard to a similar format a female client of my own followed. She engaged in a workout plan based on overall body strength training combined with HIIT (High Intensity Interval training), which is discussed below for cardio. Here's the workout plan.
Resistance Exercise Protocol:
Begin with multi-joint exercises, paired in mini cycling circuits. (Example: squat rows, pushups on the ball, lunge with bicep curl. Repeat 2 times, 8 reps per exercise and rest when needed). Then build from a workout of 3 circuits up to 5 and finish with 5 minutes of various core abdominal exercises. Once you can complete 10 reps for both sets of each exercise, increase resistance to maintain the intensity of stimulus instead of increasing duration or reps as is often prescribed. Try 2 days per week with 2 days between each workout for good recovery and great results. Finally, I combined her weight program with HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) to complete the cardiovascular aspect of her workout plan.
HIIT Training:
HIIT Training is basically a type of cardio that employs short high intensity aerobic intervals alternating with moderate to low intensity aerobic intervals based on your max heart rate. In general, high intensity can be estimated to be approximately 80-85%, moderate 50-60% and low 40-50% of max heart rate. Attain your max heart rate by subtracting your age from 220 then calculate percentages from that number. Using this information, my client followed a fairly standard HIIT format of 30second high intensity intervals combined with 1.5minute moderate intensity intervals. She performed HIIT sessions 2-3 times per week for 25-minute sessions on separate days from her weight lifting program. The HIIT training she followed again coincides with Craig's sentiments regarding cardio for female weight loss: aAs with resistance training, I've found the best results are achieved by high intensity cardio intervals rather than lower intensity, longer duration exercise. This form of high intensity cardio will burn calories and fat more efficiently than long cardio sessionsa. Now though this resistance and cardio format can be very effective, your well-being is much more important. Read on to ensure to follow the appropriate guidelines before beginning any exercise plan.
Conditioning and Benefits:
As with any exercise program, be sure to explain your program to your physician and
obtain medical clearance from your physician before beginning your exercise program.
Additionally, the above program requires a good base of physical conditioning prior to commencement. If this program is of interest to you, hire a Certified Health and Fitness Professional to assess your level of conditioning and outline a program that fits your personal abilities. This is a challenging program and you should not partake in it without proper professional guidance. Under such guidance this type of program should yield similar benefits to those it bore for my client including: improving her cardio, dropping 12 inches off her hips, toning her tummy and giving her back her waist in just under 3 months.

QUESTION:
How effective is Slimvox for female weight loss?
I've been looking into a product called Slimvox, which claims to be specific to female dieters. But I want to know if it actually works.-
ANSWER:
I tried Slimvox a few months ago for the first time. I used it regularly for about 3 months, and I found that it was effective for me. Within 2 weeks, my acne had cleared up, my skin was brighter, I felt more energy, and I lost about 10 pounds. From my experience, I didn’t have any side effects. I was actually expecting some jitters in the beginning because of the caffeine content. But I didn’t have a single problem. I had my doubts about razberi-k. But it seems like the pill as a whole had the right effect, and I’m sure razberi-k played a part.
I’ve never had a period that was completely free of bloating. Bloating is my biggest problem. But after I started taking Slimvox, I didn’t feel uncomfortable or bloated like I have in the past. I have used a diet higher in soy before, and I never got results quite like this. So I’ve come to the conclusion that they must have a higher concentration than tofu, and I believe that after looking into ingredients like Motherswort and damiana that they must play into this as well.

QUESTION:
What's the best over the counter drug to help with female weight loss?-
ANSWER:
If it could be bottled and sold as a drug, a whole plant based diet would be the number 1 seller, and the only side effects would be positive.Drugs, by the very nature, have side effects that are undesirable. None the less, physicians in the US, for the most part, have given up trying to talk their patients into changing their lifestyles and diets.
I tried every possible drug, program, clinic, and psycho therapty available. I finally lost 80+ pounds by simply changing to a whole plant based diet.

QUESTION:
How much protein should a female consume for weight loss?
I've been working out consistently for about a year, but my weight loss has been really slow. I've only lost about 15-18lbs. I've also changed my diet and started eating a lot healthier. I haven't been intaking much protein and I believe that is a reason why my weight loss has been slow. How much protein should I take to speed up my weight loss? QUESTION:
Does weight loss cause a female to smell?
I have a friend who has been loosing weight, but I've noticed that she's starting to smell a bit. She claims to take a shower every night and use deodorant. Could weight loss be the cause of her smell?-
ANSWER:
Well the short answer is Yes! Weight loss can cause you to smell.Weight loss done properly results in fat loss. That is the primary goal - to lose fat. You do want to avoid losing muscle. Muscle helps to keep your metabolism high so you can continue to burn fat.
The fatty tissues of our body is where we hold onto the poisons that we take in from our environment, as well as the poisons or waste that our bodies manufacture.
Now if you have ever heard the warnings from game and wildlife authorities about eating fish from questionable waters, you know that they always advise that we not eat the fatty parts of the fish, because that is where the toxins reside.
So when we lose fat, we will be detoxifying as we lose weight. And as the fat leaves our body in the form of sweat, urine and feces, those toxins will often give off an odor.
Anytime you detox, you are releasing these toxins into your blood stream, and it's always advisable to do this weight loss, or detox slowly so that your body doesn't become overwhelmed with the poisons being released. You can use self hypnosis to assist you in any long term efforts to make changes. This is a simple process that just engages your imagination in a very healthy and productive way. If you could imagine every one of your cells working feverishly to detoxify and lose weight, and assist them in your imagination your body will respond better to what you want to accomplish.

QUESTION:
Adult Female: Weight Loss and Fitness Buddy Wanted, are you interested?
Adult Female Please: Weight Loss and Fitness Buddy Wanted.I want to lose weight, get fit, start eating healthy, and start feeling better.
I have come to realize I can’t do it alone. I can’t even get on the scales right now because I’m so disappointed with myself.
I decided to reach out and see if anyone would be interested in a serious approach to working together as a team. All I ask is that we motivate each other, be firm about our goals and have fun loosing weight and getting healthy. We can share tips, and have a reporting system so we can stay on track.
I have at least 60 pounds to loose. I’m looking for a partner that has around the same goal. I don’t expect to lose it overnight. It took me a good while to put it on so I plan to be realistic about taking it off. I’d like the person I buddy with to be in touch on a daily (I too would be supportive) basis to report our progress for the first 30 days, until I can get moving on my own. My goals are to eat healthy, exercise, and use hand weights to start.
Tell me a little about your goals?
Are you interested? E-mail me and I will get back to you.
Thank you for your help in advance.
<3LG Thank you so much for responding. I will let you know something soon. I'm trying to decided if this would be a good match for me.-
ANSWER:

QUESTION:
Is weight training or cardio better for weight loss for a female?
I'm a female in my early twenties that wants to lose 15 lbs. Is cardio or weight training better and why?-
ANSWER:
I'm going to suggest both, and here's why: weight training will build muscle, and muscles burn more calories than fat - ALL the time, not just when you are using them. Cardio burns more calories while you are actually doing it, and you can run, cycle, cross-country ski or swim for a lot longer than you can pump iron. Also, cardio will improve your overall health more. Some things which will help you maintain a healthy weight (see http://www.halls.md/body-mass-index/av.h… for calculations which will tell you if you are at a healthy body weight, and will also show how you measure up against other young ladies of your age and height), are:
1) Build physical activity into your life-style: cycling and walking are great ways to get around whenever possible, swimming is a fun, all-round exercise, sports are also excellent and more fun than just "exercising".... of course you can also go to the gym, but don't fall into the trap of depending upon gym time and activities to get enough exercise and physical activity!!
2) Cut out snacking..... period. Eat at regular intervals: this is much healthier for your body, and you'd be surprised at how many calories snacks can add up to!!
3) Cut out junk foods - or at least minimize them. They add lots of calories but almost no nutrition. Soda pop is a big culprit, but pizza, white bread (yes, it's a junk food - the vitamins they add to white flour are nutritionally almost useless), chips, burgers, etc.
4) Maximize the fruit, veggies, nuts and so on categories: find out which you like best and find tasty ways to prepare and cook them, and you'll be more likely to eat more of them!!
5) Get enough sleep: this is important to losing weight and staying healthy all-round: when you don't get enough sleep, your energy levels are low and you'll be less likely to get out and do things: in short a sleep-starved person is often a lazy one!! Besides, the old excuse that you don't have time for sufficient sleep (7 to 8 hours for most folks) is a false one: if you sleep well, you'll be much more energetic and alert and you'll get more things done in less time than you would if you skimp on sleep in order to "save time"!! Darkness and quiet are important for getting high-quality sleep. Keep your room cool at night, don't hide your head under the covers (where you're breathing in what you just breathed out....), and be sure to drink enough before you go to bed. A good shower followed by a nice shot of cold water also helps you to get to sleep!!
6) Drink plenty of water - more than you normally would: this will give you more energy, and will help your body function more efficiently overall. The color of your pee will tell you if you are drinking enough: it should be almost clear: if it is distinctly yellow you are not properly hydrated and need some more water. Sure you'll go to the bathroom more often, but the increase in energy levels and the decrease in tension levels will make it more than worthwhile, trust me!!!
7) Eat a good breakfast, and a light supper. Breakfast gives you energy for the morning, and revs up your metabolism for the day. Without a proper breakfast you will be sluggish and not as energetic or alert. Breakfast foods should be ones which digest easily - this means bacon, hash browns and sausages are out while whole grains and yummy fruit are in!! Yougurt makes a good breakfast food too.... // A light supper will mean you don't go to bed on a full stomach: a practice which is bad for your health since it impairs the quality of your sleep.
STRETCH properly and thoroughly at three times: 1) After a bit of a warmup, so you are not stretching cold muscles, 2) After your exercise session, and 3) carefully, just before going to bed, so you won't be nearly as sore the next day. (and 4) whenever any of your muscles are tight.) // Proper stretching: a) choose stretches which effectively stretch the muscles you want to stretch out, and do them as instructed: i recommend having a couple of sessions with a personal trainer, and asking them to teach you about the basics of weight training and proper stretching.A tip for your cardio: Do "interval training" instead of just going at the same speed all the time. This means going at it as hard as you can, for short intervals during your training: this has all kinds of benefits which you can Google - including burning more fat, faster!!
Wishing you all the best!!

QUESTION:
I'm in love with a married female weight loss doctor...should I tell her?
I went to a healthy weight loss doctor and fell in love with her. I know she's married although I suspect it is not a happy one from what I have seen and heard her say about it. She helped me lose a lot of weight. Her 2nd husband and I got into an arguement over a gift I gave her on her birthday, among other issues between us. Once and awhile she would give me a look that she was very interested in me other than medically. I have other female doctors all good looking and younger but they are my doctors and that's all. With the weight doctor there was chemistry flirting hugging looks comments that lead me to believe that she could be mine with some effort on my part. I am also married. So I had an argument with her husband and haven't been back since even though the doctor told me she hoped I would come back because she loved treating me. I can't get her out of my mind. I think about her all the time. I often thought of just going back and asking her if she's interested in me. Should I?-

Can masturbation (female) hinder weight loss?

It isn't any "excuse" for weight, I am asking out of mere curiosity. And not all 120lb women are thin, if that's what the 6th answerer is getting at. In fact, a lot of 120lb women would be considered overweight.-

QUESTION:
What is the most efficient weight loss program for a female athlete without causing any period problems?
I'm an 18 year old female athlete. In the game I play, I have to watch my weight to fit in a certain weight category before competitions. Last year, I lost around 8 kg before a competition. Thank God I did well in that competition, but I stopped getting my period for 6 months. Right now I have to lose 5 to 6 kg, I want to know what is the best way to lose that weight without affecting my period and my health. Please help me, I should start working on losing that weight.-
ANSWER:
Wow, this is a tough situation.Your ability to have periods is directly related to the amount of body fat you carry.
Less than 20% and you will stop getting periods.
More than 23-25% body fat, and you will start to flirt with health issues.
If you STOP getting periods, you will start to lose bone density (Given the content of your inquiry, however, I'm sure you're already aware of this).
At about the age of 19 yrs., women tend to ossify (their cartilaginous growth plates turn into bone) thereby ending the skeletal growth process and giving the woman an additional 10-15 lbs. of non-fat bodyweight (the clothes still fit fine, you just weigh more ...).
Please, please consider going up to another weight class, if this is an option.
I know that this can be quite scary, but your health and long-term well-being is at stake here (REALLY).
Good luck with this.

QUESTION:
14 year old female weight loss?
Okay, so I've been overweight for almost my entire life and I'm going into high school next year so I want to lose the weight. I need to lose 60 lbs in 5 months. I am about 5' 4'' and weight around 180 lbs, yeah I know.Anyway I'm not looking for immature comments about my weight, I'm also not looking for stereotypes either because believe it or not I don't sit on the couch all day stuffing my face. I work out multiple times a week and am very serious about my weight loss. I am however looking for informational, realistic answers, no pills, no berries, and nothing that only will work for a couple of people. And remember that I have to be at school most of the day and I have homework and blah blah blah. Next week I am on spring break though so for one week I can do daily things.
So just please give good answers, I will pick best answer! Thank you.

ANSWER:
Losing weight is a huge commitment and it helps A LOT to have many people who are there to support you. It can be very hard, and its best if you have someone there who can keep you going. Its also very important that you have regular doctor checkups, just to make sure you are being healthy.I am the same age as you, and last year, what your describing was pretty much me, except that I'm 5' 8" and my starting weight was 217 lbs. I can tell by your choice of words you are pretty fed up with being overweight, trust me, I can relate. I was doing a study at a weight clinic, and i learned a lot about eating healthy and exercising daily. And so far, I've lost 54 pounds since June of 09. On average i would lose 1-2 pounds a week, which is a completely healthy amount. And even though the study has been over for quite some time now, I'm still losing weight.
Sorry to say, but 60 pounds in 5 months is sort of an unrealistic goal. And with a goal that big, its really easy to lose motivation. Try not to set number goals. If you aren't meeting them as quickly as you may like, you could lose motivation very easily. Also, try to think of the other good thing that will come with losing weight, it doesn't just make your clothes fit better.
One of the easiest thing to do when losing weight is to make small changes in your daily routine, like (if you're a big milk drinker) switching to skim milk. Or walking to and from school instead of taking the bus. I also have been doing a ton of walking everyday (approx. 1hr 30 mins), which is a great exercise. And if you want something quick you can do before going to school, you could try skipping rope. Losing weight is like 80% food intake, so its very important to watch your portions, and have a good balance of what your eating, and how much exercise you do. You might want to take some classes, or meet with a nutritionist, to learn more about nutrition, it makes it a lot easier if you know about these things. =)
Like I said, losing weight can be very hard, so you have to keep reminding yourself of the amazing benefits that come along with it, and to never, ever give up. Don't let anyone else bring you down.
I hope I've helped you a little, and wish you copious amounts of good luck. =)

QUESTION:
Question about female weight loss.?
Hello, my wife and I are working at losing weight. being a man I of course am losing it faster than she is. We usually lose between 1-3 lbs. a week. However every few weeks she goes a week without losing anything. I've had a week like that myself. I think its natural so I didn't let it get to me. It makes my wife discouraged. Is it a normal part of weight loss? If it is And I can give a scientific explanation that might make her feel better.
We have been on weight watchers for the last 3 months. We have both seen good results.-
ANSWER:
yes it is very normal. i dont know the exact explanation why but usually it means you have hit a plateau. try lowering your calorie intake just a little and exercising just a little more. when you start losing weight you have to work a little bit harder because your body doesnt need as many calories as before and it takes longer to burn them as well. dont let her get discouraged as long as shes doing everything right shell lose weight even if some weeks she stays the same. it could also have something to do with her menstrual cycle because when women get their period they lose water weight( a few pounds) and then gain it back when theyre off of their period. maybe that week she did lose fat but she gained water weight back. it could be anything. the key is to just not get discouraged and keep a positive attitude. good luck =]

Okay i am really sick of myself.
I try everything to lose weight.
i am sixteen and i am 178 lbs.
i am a big boned girl i honestly dont look my weight but i would love to look smaller.
It is 7:16pm i just weighed myself and the result was 179lbs and i was stunned.
I am in size 13 jeans which is pretty good.
in the sixth grade i was in size 18 jeans and i did some things i wasnt proud of to lose the weight. like starving myself and refusing to eat.
I exercise all the the exercises that i do consist of:- Put my arms out in front of me and bend over and touch my toes 50 times.
- Sit in a sitting position with my arms out in front of me and touch my toes 50 times.
- Bend my knees (which help w. my legs not my stomache)
It's yucky weather where i live, and there is absolutely no way i could get to a gym in this weather.

at least!
please help!
detailed answers would be verry much appriciated and remember im only sixteen. haha i dont have money to go out and buy equipment or anything like that.
any ideas of what i should do? please help-
ANSWER:
Starving yourself is not the way to lose weight. If you starve yourself you are more likely to hurt yourself than do any good. You need to combine exercise with diet. If you do not eat, than your body will not break down fat, it will break down muscle. When you want to lose weight you need to take into account your height, and if you have muscle. Muscle weighs more than weight.
Things you need to do to lose weight:
- vary your diet, by eating different foods, and different amounts of calories it allows your stomach to not get used to what you eat. If you eat the same things everyday your stomach feels as if it does not have to do the work to break down the fats.
- drink lots of water, if you replace sugary and calories filled drinks with water it will help so much. it will flush your system, and it will clear your skin
- and don't eat as much, don't eat when your not hungry.Remember that size is only a number, and good luck with your weight loss. I hope this helps.

QUESTION:
What is the best weight loss regimen for age 20/female?
I need to lose 100 pounds. My goal weight is 120 pounds and I weigh 220 lbs. It is really depressing. I don't know if I even have much muscle mass. I am thinking about trying a juice fast. I'm going to be moving out of my parent's house soon and I need to look and feel my best. I am worried that I will become unhealthy if I continue gaining weight.-
ANSWER:
I feel your pain I was also 220 lbs. I did slim fast at first and counted calories, I lost my first 25 lbs. Then I Incorporated workouts and lost 25 more lbs. Now I am 170 I still have about 45 more lbs left to go.Now I eat in moderation trying to eat 5 small meals a day making sure to eat bananas in the morning. (the potassium in them helps relieve sore muscles so you especially need them when working out)
My workout routine consists of Bob's Biggest loser boot camp
and Tae Bo Boot camp elite or Amped.( I do both with about 3-5lbs added weight) I usually do this for 4-5x a week. I also have 2 line dancing classes during the week for about 1-2 hrs.You don't want to try quick fix diets because you will end up being hungry for most of the day and you don't want your stomach growling during class or work.
If you follow any diet plan and stick to it you will be surprised at the weight you will lose.

QUESTION:
5'10" female weight loss by summer?
I have been excersizing for about a month and a half and have lost about 5 or 6 pounds. I want a "bikini" body by summer how much should I weigh? Here's what I've been doing:
eating healthy, no dieting because it is bad. I do 10-20 crunches a day and 10 pushups and squats. I also walk my dog for a half an hour everyday and an half an hour or a hour on the indoor bike-
ANSWER:
Our ideal weights depend on our frame. To measure your frame, wrap your fingers of one hand around the smallest part of your wrist of the opposite arm. If any of your fingers overlap, you have a small frame. If they just barely touch, you have a medium frame. If they don't touch your thumb at all, you have a large frame. :] A small frame of your height should weigh 145 pounds, medium 156, large 173. Each of those weights are of course give or take a pound. I think that you are exercising plenty! Just continue eating healthy and I'm sure you'll be a perfect weight in no time. Hope I helped!

QUESTION:
Breastfeeding female weight loss?
I am a breastfeeding mom of a 4 mon old and would like to lose some weight. I was weighed at the dr and not happy with what I saw. As far as eating, I live with my mother who cooks and won't change her cooking habits and I don't make enough to buy my own food to cook for myself. Last week I started walking which has helped me lose weight fast in the past. I'm hoping that I get the same results but in the past I was having alot of sex which helped. If anyone could offer any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you!-
ANSWER:
You can cut your calories and burn calories without worrying too much about what your mom is making! You can cheat a little bit since you are breastfeeding. Maybe you can find ways to eat healthier within the foods that are being prepared. If you mom is frying the chicken, perhaps you can ask for it baked or bake it yourself. Or if there are sandwhiches, skip the mayo and cheese and just have the meat and one slice of bread. If your mom offers veggies with the meal, see if you can get yours without butter. If you must eat only what your mom is making, then just eat less of it. Can you afford to buy lettuce and a lemon? A salad every day (no dressing, just some lemon and use your mom's seasoning) really helped me lose the baby weight. Yogurt and bananas from Aldi's are pretty cheap, usually 30 cents, maybe you can afford just a few of those and eat that instead of what your mom makes. I understand if you truly don't have the money, then just find ways to cut the calories within what's in the house! Also I carry my baby all around while doing extra chores around the house. Breastfeeding is so awesome, you are burning calories, don't give up, you'll lose the weight!

QUESTION:
How healthy is this weight loss for a female? (read details please)
So I am a bit worried about my girlfriend she wanted to lose weight and went on the master cleanse (lemonade diet) for a few days and that scared the shit out of me so I paid for her to go to Jenny Craig, she is eating 1500 calories a day but spends at least an hour running on the treadmill plus another 30mins doing weights every day. This past week she lost 6lbs in one week! The Jenny Craig people seemed happy for her but that seems excessive to me for a week of weight loss. Is this an okay way for her to lose weight? I'm very worried about her health.-
ANSWER:
It is quite usual to have a large weight loss in the first weeks of dieting. This is because much of the loss is fluid. On 1500 a day your wife should start to have a slow steady weight loss of approx 2lb per week. With the increased exercise this maybe a bit more...but a good thing for her general health.!500 cals a day is quite reasonable and a healthy way to lose weight

QUESTION:
YES OR NO!? should a FEMALE do WEIGHTS for WEIGHT LOSS?
i want to loose 4 stone altogether and am planning on doing lots of cardio and eating healthy. Here's the question -will weight training help me loose the weight?
and NO i do not want to have lots of muscles on show but do want to be toned!
Thanks for any help you can give.
-
ANSWER:
Yes. Weights are a great way to become toned. Females would actually have to do a massive amount of weights to get over-muscly so there's little chance of that happening.
Weights will help you to define and sculpt your body rather than looking slim but flabby at the same time. Lean muscle also increases the rate at which your body burns calories so will help with weight loss. X

If a female takes hcg drops for weight loss and then takes a pregnancy test, will the test come out positive?
I know that hcg is a hormone produced when women are pregnant, is it likely to affect a pregnancy test?-

yes, it'll be positive for a female. I was wondering the same thing about if men took it. My BIL took hcg for weight loss and I teased him about taking a test and it being positive. He was also super hormonal. lol

QUESTION:
female weight loss question...?
If a woman weighed about 220 and had a bra cup size of D then she lost about 100 pounds putting her around 120 lbs, would the bra cup size go down at all or stay the same?-
ANSWER:
Most likely, yes. I recently lost about 15 pounds and went down a cup size. It depends on what your weight distribution is. I tend to carry most of mine in my breasts, so that's where I lost it. Other women carry more in their backsides or their abdomens, so that is where they lose it. It depends on the person.

teenage female weight loss plan, will it work?

and
eating in healthy food portions

will this plan help me see faster results if i do this EVERYDAY??
please i am open to any mature suggestions!
all your answers are appreciated!!
PLEASE ANSWER ALL MY QUESTIONS STATED!
thanx a lot!
by the way i am17 yrs old
265 lb.
5' 10.5
PS
i have a lot of flab everywherewill this plan work to get rid of my flab as well?
-
ANSWER:
It may help some, but it really depends. Any level of cardio activity (like the walking and running) will help, but it'll be hard to see right away making you think it's not working. The water is great. The situps and tricep curls seem kind of specific; you'd be better to focus on bigger muscle groups (arms, legs, back and shoulders) if you want to see the difference. You may run into obstacles. Would this schedule be a big change for you? It'll be harder to stick to if you take this all on at once if you're not doing anything currently. You might want to add one piece at a time until you get used to it to avoid burnout. Is it something you wouldn't get bored with? You may want to run one day, bike another, dance another (doesn't have to be good just jumping around works).
I'd really recommend checking out something like www.sparkpeople.com or Women's Health Magazine. They've got tons of good suggestions on quick starts to make a difference, and how to sustain a good program, and how to be healthy while doing it.
Oh! and for the flab....make sure you eat protein and that you're not totally cutting fat. Protein will help you build muscle that'll help you look toned. Making sure you get heathy fats like olive oil for good brain function and again...more toning.

QUESTION:
What is the best weight loss pill out there, too lose weight fast? For Female!?
I have a lot of things coming up soon where I want to look my best. Maybe lose two dress sizes and maybe 10 pounds. I have been dieting but is not working at all. ALso been working out. Maybe need a boost of some sort.-
ANSWER:
Hydroxycut is NOT the way to go! I have taken most of the diet pills out there religiously, including Hydroxycut and it sucked. Hydroxycut does make you lose weight, but the truth is that it removes Muscle AND Fat, which won't make you look any better. I'm surprised Sabah heard good reviews; I struggle to find such a thing.Lipo-6 is the most effective fat loss pill on the market. It speeds up your metabolism incredibly, so your constantly burning calories. Take it for 6 week cycles (6 on, 6 off). You'll notice results within 2 weeks. But make sure you're eating fairly healthy, or else the results will be minimal.
Also, to help speed up the process, eat 3 cups of oatmeal a day with 2 tablespoons of ground flaxseed. And eat a lot of broccoli.
And Ephedra is illegal. If you want to go the illegal route, then buy Anavar.
Hope that all helps! And please, whatever you do, don't buy Zantrex-3

QUESTION:
5'7", 170 lbs., 16 year old female. Weight loss help?
Okay: I eat a lot of junk food. I know this is bad. I want to stop, but don't have the motivation. I know I need fruits and protein. I don't exercise much, but am going to soon and I want to start jogging for about an hour a day. In the middle of July, I'm gonna start having band camp and we spend a lot of time outside in the hot sun working out. Most of my fat is in my torso area and my thighs. I have a little on my upper arms, but everywhere else is normal.
My questions to you are:
how can I get motivated?
What's healthy for a girl like me?
What kinds of food can I eat with lots of protein?
What kind of exercises are good for losing fat, not building muscle?Help would greatly be appreciated, and that bullshit about acai berries and crap that's copy-pasted will NOT get best answer, so walk away if you're just gonna do that.

ANSWER:
1. Get a full-length mirror, and draw an outline on it that you would like to be. Look into the mirror each morning and night, and draw your outline on it once a week(whiteboard marker will be easy to remove).
As you lose weight you will see the lines coming together.
2. Start eating a healthy diet: wholegrain cereals and bread, fresh fruits and vegetables, fish, lean meat, drink water. Avoid: junk food and sugary soda or alcoholic drinks. You will find that if your body is getting the right nutrients it won't crave more and more food. Take a multivitamin daily.
3. Get regular exercise: start with walking 15 minutes morning and evening, then extend the time. Ride a bike, do moderate exercises while watching TV.
4. Don't smoke or take illegal drugs.
5. Get plenty of rest.
6. Say (aloud) to yourself) each morning and evening " Every day in every day I am getting better and better; thinner and thinner; stronger and stronger."-

QUESTION:
What would be a good weight-loss workout for a 20 yr old female?
I broke my hip in a car accident about 4 years ago and it tends to be a little sore so I would like some advice on exercises that would help me lose weight, with out added stress to my hip.-
ANSWER:
Seemingly everyone is trying to lose weight these days using a wide variety of diet and exercise strategies. Although men and women have the goal of weight loss very much in common, they also have quite different needs when it comes to achieving results. Since you are female and you will not be able to do all the exercises due to your sore hip, here is some useful info.To begin with, the metabolism of a woman is very different from that of a man. Men have higher levels of testosterone (and other hormones) as well as more muscle and less body fat than women. Because of this, women have a much harder time losing weight because they have naturally higher levels of body fat and hormones (such as estrogen) which make the storage of bodyfat even easier. Overall, the only way to lose weight if you are a woman is to eat less food than a man, but exactly how much?
The best place to start is by figuring out exactly how much you want to weigh and then determine how many calories you will need to eat to achieve that weight. The basic rule of weight loss is to burn off more calories than you consume so no matter what your starting weight is you will need to create a deficit either by eating less or exercising more.
Once you know exactly how many calories you need to eat, the next step will be to figure out what types of foods work best for you. A good rule of thumb is to always try and eat as many healthy natural foods as you can. Additionally, you will want to ensure that your portion sizes are under control. Many women are very surprised when they discover how small a proper portion size is, so in the beginning you will likely have to pay close attention.
After you have modified your eating habits, the next step will be to begin a regular exercise routine. Most women that are new to dieting and weight loss get intimidated by the idea of a complicated exercise program. If this sounds like you, why not start with something as simple as walking? Walking burns off a considerable amount of calories and exercises the entire body. After you have built up some strength and stamina you may want to consider adding additional forms of exercise, such as Pilates or yoga.
Although weight loss for women can be very difficult, keep in mind that the most important determining factor in your success will be perseverance. Try block out the unrealistic images of the female body that are portrayed in pop culture all around us. Stay focused on yourself and you are very likely to achieve your goals of weight loss and greater health.
Good luck and hope I helped!

QUESTION:
What are the doctor recommendations on how much hCG a female should take to achieve weight loss?-
ANSWER:
I just can't get over people still trying this foolishness. You deserve better.
A 500 calorie per day diet is considered anorexic. Mix it with a useless hormone from pregnant women's urine and you get a miracle diet! All over the counter hcg products were announced as illegal and fraudulent by the FDA on January 24, 2011
Testing concluded that all over the counter oral and injection products on the market have little to no real hcg in them but most a similar synthetic hormone.
Anyone that lost weight especially with the drops did it because they ate fewer calories than they burned. The hcg acted as the placebo to help them lose the weight.
The only approved use for hcg is to increase fertility in both men and women.
Next year will mark 60 years since this fraudulent science was started.I was at the pharmacy a few weeks ago. I looked at the hcg drops and it says right on the box, "Does not contain any hormone but contains an amino acid similar to hcg"
I can't believe under current law they can still call it hcg drops. This is a product sold 20' away from a board certified and licensed pharmacist!
Buy a pregnancy test and you can verify whether you got any real hcg or not.The positive reviews you read are written by profiteers and converts.
Staunch supporters of this diet treat it almost like a religion. "If you will just believe..."
The mental process occurring here is called "cognitive relativism" where hcg users assert their paradigm beliefs to the point where they deny facts, lack of evidence, legality, and true expert opinion.
The doctors exploiting this benign hormone with the ability to prescribe injections can't even agree on how it works. Some say it releases stored fat calories into the system. Others say it acts as an appetite suppressant.
Neither explanation justifies the weight loss in the individuals taking the oral drops with NO hcg in them that still lost weight.
By the way, insurance does not cover this since it is not FDA approved. What doctor wouldn't want to get an "all cash" practice going?Check out these clips before going further. Just aired a few weeks ago.

QUESTION:
What are some common reasons for sudden weight loss in a 5 year old, female indoor only cat?
Just curious, taking her to the vet tonight, would like some "diseases" to google so I can go to the vet "prepared"
Thank you so far everyone!!! I just like to be prepared for the worst case scenario, even if it makes me a little crazy for the next couple hours before her appointment.-
ANSWER:
Hyperthyroidism is a common ailment found in indoor cats (3-1 over outdoor/indoor cats) and weight loss is a symptom of that.If your cat had fleas, then tapeworm could be an issue.
Dental/oral issues that prevent a cat from eating properly.
And, if you really want to make yourself crazy, you can also google FIP, FIV, Leukemia, Cancer, Kidney failure, Liver failure....now, are you sure you want to do that and not just wait to hear what the vet suggests? Weight loss could have a number of underlying causes and you will likely make yourself crazy if you start looking up everything, so better to take the time and do a list of all things you have noticed about your cat (weight loss, drinking habits, kind of food, any changes in food, changes in eating habits, changes in personality, changes in litter box usage, stress issues, meowing more/less often, sleeping more/less...everything you can think of). Don't forget to take a stool sample just in case the vet needs it.
Good luck.

QUESTION:
which of the following conditions might occur if a female attempts extreme weight loss?
A) stomachahes & severe thirst
B) osteoporosis & amenorrhea
C) fluid retention & bloating
D) bone fraction & torn ligamentsI think its C
-
ANSWER:
Personally I think it is B.
Osteoporosis because usually when a female tries to lose an extreme amount of weight she will deprive herself of the vital calcium her body needs, thus leading to osteoporosis, although this would not show up as an immediate symptom but rather over time.
Amenorrhea (lack of a menstrual cycle) because it is well known in the medical community that rapid, or extreme weight loss is attributed to irregular, if not completely absent periods.

QUESTION:
My female kitten 18months, has experienced sudden weight loss?
She still eats and drinks and doesn't look sick. She's always been very tiny, but lately her spine and hip bones has started sticking out. She's never been sick, loves food, and has always been a very calm sleepy kitty. Why the sudden loss?-
ANSWER:
thyroid problems, worms or diabetes are 3 things that come to mind immediately from those symptoms and especially if she is eating good.Sorry, but you will have to get your cat to a vet and get it tested so the vet can tell you what is wrong with the cat and how to fix it.
Do not wait to make the appointment, call them now and tell them what is happening before it gets worse. All 3 things I mentioned above can be handled with the proper medicine and diet but only the vet can tell you what medicines your cat will need. Good Luck!

Weight loss buddy Australia female 15-20 years old?
Hi im 16 and I'm trying to tone up and get fitter. I want a weight loss buddy in Australia so the time difference with hotmail wont be annoying, so we will be communicating at relativley the same time.
Im not going to crash diet, thats bad. I want someone to join me for motivation, and I'll motivate them too.
Thanks!
*online weight loss buddy.
Ok so if you're seriously considering it tell me your emails or if I can send to you through yahoo.-
ANSWER:
Food- Always eat breakfast. Yes, I know getting up a bit earlier to consume the first meal of the day is sometimes hard, but it is necessary. I would suggest egg beaters and a piece of fruit (preferrably a banana to give you necessary protein). Drink water. They say if you drink water in the morning it gets your brain working a lot better. Juices and milk have a lot of sugar, so you definitely don't want to drink your calorie intake for the day.
For lunch I would suggest a turkey (low sodium) wrap. Walmart has these really good wraps that are fat free. Put a little bit of lettuce and tomato on the wrap and you're ready to go. If you want some extra flavoring, add a pinch of pepper. Drink water again because our body needs A LOT of water everyday. Plus, if you drink water throughout the day, the less snack urges you will get. It's not smart to snack- adds extra calories. If you're dying to eat drink water and crew on a piece of Stride or Orbit gum. Long lasting and good tasting! Sometimes hunger can be mistaken for thirst! So keep that in mind.
For dinner I would suggest chicken varieties or fish. Stay away from a lot of red meat. Red meat contains a lot of sodium and fat. You don't want a lot of sodium and sugar in your diet. Eat veggies and perhaps a small amount of brown rice. Use butter spray (it's fat free). Parkay makes the best tasting! It really does taste like butter!!!
For a snack at night if you're still hungry try fat free/sugar free jello or pudding. Popcorn is also a really good choice. Low fat (94% fat free) is sold at Walmart or you can even get the corn and pop it yourself. Add some butter spray and you're in business. Don't add extra salt though!
Don't eat past 7PM if possible. Late night eating is really bad for you!Exercise- Try running, walking fast, parking far away so you can get that extra distance in, sit-ups (increase how many you do EVERY night), push-ups, walks, sports/biking, swimming, Wii fit (ha), dancing...Basically any way to stay active! Always be on the move. When sitting watching tv move your legs to keep moving and burning those calories. Stair stepping is also good. If you live relatively close to a studium, go to there and run the stairs.
Remember- With a healthy diet and staying active, you'll lose weght without a problem! Good luck!
BTW- the green tea tip is great! It speeds up your metabolism A LOT and is a very healthy drink for you! Don't add sugar, perhaps a small amount of Splenda (not even the whole packet- you don't need it, it'll be sweet with only a drop of it).

QUESTION:
Weight loss help for overweight 16 year old female?
Im female 16 years old about 5'3 and weigh about 163 lbs. I need help losing about 15-20 pounds in a month. Tips and help please? Is it even possible?-
ANSWER:
It is possible to lost that much weight in one month but what you want to aim for is a healthy method of losing weight: one that takes it off slowly but surely and one where you don't gain back all the weight you lost (and more) after a few more months. As a nutritionist, who has just written a book on childhood obesity and simple steps to walk out of that challenging situation, my main concern about dietary plans for teens is that they concentrate on eating real food, as close as possible to its natural state (i.e. brown rice, whole veggies, no processed foods) and don't become food fanatics (i.e. doing very weird diets). If you concentrate on those real foods, avoid things like pop (diet or regular) and keep even your occasional "junk" food a little healthier (i.e. better quality chocolate or a small bag of chips with no chemicals. . .just potatoes, oil and salt for example) you will be on the right track. Also, try not letting more than about 3 hours go without eating, and each time you eat have a small amount of protein (i.e. an egg or two for breakfast or peanut butter for a snack or tuna for lunch) and a lot of vegetables (i.e. the eggs scrambled with peppers and onion, the peanut butter on a couple celery sticks the tuna on a salad). Have a few smaller servings of whole grain or starchier vegetables (i.e. yam, potato) each day, make sure you get enough healthy fat (i.e. in the peanut butter or in an avocado) as that is especially important during the teen years and drink lots of water (and not really other beverages, other than maybe veggie juice or the odd glass of milk but especially avoid things like the sodas or fruit "drinks" or caffeinated beverage drinks).
You'll also want to add in some regular exercise. It can be a walk or bike ride or skate board time or whatever you enjoy, but alternate your speed when you are doing the activity. Do a couple minute warm up (slow walking or biking or whatever) and then a couple minutes of a little faster walk. Then go right back to your warm up speed for two minutes and then do a minute and a half a little faster than the first work period. Keep changing from a little shorter period of faster walking, to a slow down to the warm up speed again. It helps increase lung capacity, strengthens your heart and helps you burn calories longer after exercise. Then be sure to have a big glass of water when you are done.
And a final suggestion on the goal of losing 15-20 pounds in a month, you don't really have complete control over how quickly your body is going to shed stored fat and reduce inches. You do, however, have control over what you put in your mouth each day and how much activity you do. How about instead of setting a goal of losing all those pounds by that date, set goals of eating 5-7 servings of vegetables each day and going for a brisk walk for 15 minutes 5 days/week. That way, even on a week when you may not have shed as much weight or inches as you would have liked, you can still be encouraged that you followed through on the things you said you were going to do. That counts for a lot and means you had a successful week, even if the scale didn't budge that week.
Above all, keep up the good work. Being interested in health at your age is a great thing!

QUESTION:
Weight loss - Female - Almost 21yrs - 5"11'.?
I weigh in or around the 15 stone mark(last time i checked was a few months back & i was just under).
I know im WAY over weight & need to shred the pounds, but anytime i've asked my doctor about it they don't tell me what i want, "how can i lose weight the healthy way?"I don't look over weight, id put a photo up to show but i wouldn't feel comfortable in doing so..
But i actually don't look terribly over weight(thanks to m height).
Im just sick of having to buy clothing that doesn't fit me because the lower size either fits or its too tight and the bigger size either fits or is too big!
I want to be healthy & fit again!!The last time i was a size 12 was when i started 1st year of secondary school. That's when the weight began to climb., trying to make new friends when very quite isn't good at that age.., esp when there's a canteen in the vicinity!! =P
I have also recently began taking the contraceptive pill "Yasmín" & have heard it increases the risk of gaining weight.-
ANSWER:
Anyone who says, "Sit ups", etc, don't know what they're talking about! Sit ups, in any form, will develop the abdominal muscles and, thus, make your stomach bigger, not smaller. Also, another myth, sit ups do not remove fat from your belly. You cannot select where your body breaks down adipose tissue (fat). When you exercise the body, eventually, enzymes are put into the bloodstream and convert the fat cells into energy wherever it finds fat cells, not specifically in the region you are working out.I too have a slightly bulbous lower belly and I'm a 5'11" male who has been under 9 1/2st (<134lb), yet the bulge was still there. It's probably just the physiology of my muscles in my case, as I have no pinch-able fat and it's unlikely to be caused by fat that surrounds internal organs.
All you can do is diet and exercise. The best way to burn fat (not to be confused with burning calories) is to exercise when you are starving hungry. Your body has reserves of energy in the bloodstream and in the liver, once this has gone your body will break down the fat cells in (under) your skin. If you go for a run when you're already hungry you'll eventually start burning fat. But it's not easy, you'll need to run for an hour or 2 and will feel fairly ill afterwards - but it won't kill you. I'm nearly 40 with a family history of severe heart disease, and I ran 15 miles over 2hrs without any water or food recently just to see how far I could push myself, and survived - like I say, I did feel like I had the 'flu for a day or two afterwards though!
Get yourself the an iPod Nano (or iPhone) and the Nike+ Sport Kit (running pedometer/data logger) and get running (The Nike+ run-logging website is great for keeping you motivated).

you should tone it down abit and do more stregthening exercises so you wont lose your curves(:
legs-try calf raises, squats, and for cardio, jumprope.
arms- pushups, shoulder presses, tricep extensions
stomach- bicycle crunches, windmills, reverse crunches and crunches at different levels.
add that to your normal routine, but take the jogs down to 4 days a week, since your already using the elliptical.
im not sure how fast youll get results, but you will get them sooner or later depending on your body.
hope i helped(:

QUESTION:
Teen(female) eating/weight loss help?
Well, I'm pretty much on the journey of trying to lose weight, with my mother as a slacking, but still is, a partner in crime. My only problem is, I fear my eating habits could be hindering any plans of weight loss I have. Don't get me wrong, I don't eat out of whack, chips snacks etc. I only do those type of things on a 'cheat day', either Fri, Sat, Sun. What I've read is, that if you cut out such and such of this, and such of such of that, it'll be easier to lose weight. For example, sugar, white bread, salt, but eating more whole grains. I'm in no way in charge of what I can eat at all, and sometimes my mother doesn't always have the time to cook healthy meals either, though we'll usually eat chicken salad, baked chicken, turkey burgers, carrots, broccoli, string beans, while not cheating.
I try to get about 60-70 mins of exercise, not including Gym/Phys Ed Class(running+soccer/whatever sport+stretching, can this be count as exercise), and I usually find myself scurrying up and down the stairs of my school, hallways, and trying to get to classes. I try to consume enough water, my goal being clear/clearer urine. My lunch is usually a couple of fruit snacks, a sandwich (Hoagie white bread, lettuce, slice of cheese, some mustard, and ham), sun chips(french+onion), grapes, water/apple juice(I've decided not to buy lunch anymore, or not as often, since the lunch at my school is not good for you at all), and a gogurt/yogurt or Jello. My goal is 60-80 lbs lost by the end of the school year (June), I'm tall for my age, and don't worry, I'm aware when I can afford to lose weight, and when I can't. Any eating advice, exercise advice(I do running, biking), etc. I also hope my goal isn't too strenuous to reach, since I heard 1-2lbs is the maximum, but that doesn't always seem right. I also don't have much time for breakfast, but I try to incorporate food in the morning as much as I can.
Thanks a lot!
@Treesah, my mother works, so we don'
t really eat fast food on the weekdays, since she's not home. What I mean is, she might make less healthy foods, but not blown out of proportion unhealthy, since vegetables are still included. Is there any other type of alternative to the sun chips, and why are they bad? Thanks for the advice =)
@Livia, that really sounds complicated and difficult to follow. I'm even unaware of what some of those foods are. Btw, I don't eat butter, and rarely candy, ice creams, cakes, sweets, all things I don't really like much

ANSWER:
There are two things in particular that can set a teen onto the track of lifelong weight issues - cutting back on calories, and thinking that you can eat what other people are eating and lose weight AND look good.
You need fruit, not fruit snacks. You need real potatoes or a handful of almonds or walnuts and a few apricots or raisins, not sun chips. You need real, homemade bread (or skip the bread and do whole oatmeal) instead of a white or even a whole wheat hoagie. Why? Because virtually every packaged food on the market contains endocrine disruptors (metabolism stuff) and high fructose corn syrup (which halts fat burning for at least 4 hours after ingestion). If you have 60-80 lbs to lose, it will be hard to lose it eating like that. And cutting back on calories = cutting back on nutrition = slower metabolism and less beauty. Most chips are also fried in polyunsaturated oil, which creates free radicals in the body, yada yada yada. Since your mom works, consider fresh fruit, nuts, packing a salad chopped veggies and a dressing of extra virgin olive oil and either vinegar or lemon. Add nuts to that if you don't like them for snack. You can cook up a few pieces of salmon or tilapia at a time, and have some cold for any meal. There is nothing wrong with eggs, not even the yolks. Enjoy a couple for breakfast. For bread, buy sprouted grain breads and toast them. If you want; butter on them, put BUTTER on them. Not much., but get the real thing, and make sure it is organic. (Pesticides concentrate in the fatty portions of animals, and you don't want butter made from animals exposed to drugs and pesticides). Avoid margarines like the plague. Your body doesn't know what to do with margarine and will store it somewhere on your body.At the same time, I recognize that you are somewhat at the mercy of others in getting food, and peer pressure in social situations.
I think you will be really happy with the results if you consider something called T-Tapp. There are plenty of ways to achieve your goals, but the key things that will help you are eating properly most of the time and engaging in exercise that is doable and helps you lose a lot of inches in all the right places, and exercising with this system just 2-3 times a week, you can work toward not just a thinner body, but one with lithe, lean muscles that can be showed off in a bathing suit. In fact,, swim suit models use this program. The creator of the program also suggests an eating plan that is realistic for most people...some days you eat what she calls "God Made" (whole and natural foods) and other days you can eat "Man Made" foods. I like the fact that her exercises are incredibly detoxifying, don't require special equipment, and don't take a long time. In fact, research is showing that the hour you spend on the treadmill or elliptical may be training your body to STORE fat, instead of the other way around...hence the endless need to keep exercising with few results. It is also something that you and your mom can do together at home, if you like. It will help both of you stay slim, healthy, flexible, balanced and swim-suit ready your whole life.
One more tip - our lives are so sedentary now. If you want to help your metabolism along, get a little timer and set it for every 15-20 minutes or so, and get up from whatever homework or computer work or tv-watching that you are doing and do some deep breaths, stand on your toes, do some stretches, do a little chore around the house. Sitting KILLS metabolism and sets up all sorts of unpleasant and embarrassing health problems for women as we get older.
There isn't room to share all the resources that I think could lhelp you, but I think everyone should make T-Tapp exercises part of their healthy lifestyle. As little as 20 minutes twice a week can keep you where you want to be for life. And you don't have to beat yourself up for not doing more because doing more means you aren't letting new muscle form....and the point is to build new muscle to help your metabolism, among other things. Less truly is MORE.
Feel free to email if you want to know about other ideas and programs. THere is only so much one can type for Answers. Sorry for rambling and for typos. I'm on a computer with tiny keys, tiny and hypersensitive mouse and tiny print today and just don't want to try to edit.
