Caloric Cycling varies your daily intake of calories so that you will never have a weight loss plateau to fight. The technique keeps the body guessing at what you are going to do next and therefore never switches into starvation mode by lowering its metabolism. Another excellent feature of this diet is the "feed days" where you can eat all kinds of food not allowed on other diets and this makes The EODD diet a diet you can stick with which in turn guarantees your success.

Start The EODD Diet Now

It is important to start your weight loss program in time to accomplish your goals before the wedding. Getting the EODD guide right away and studying it so that you can implement it immediately is important. The sooner you do it the sooner you will be ready for your special day and the last thing you want is to have done nothing until it is too late.

The Diet Clearing house gives this diet 9 out of 10 stars among our selected diets for brides. Our only concern is that this diet is not a diet for brides with a lot of weight (over 20 lbs) to lose in only a couple of weeks, but you could lose 21 lbs in three weeks on the highest weight loss level.

In the end the most important thing is to select this diet for brides or another one and start now. Watch soon for another diet we will review in our Diets For Brides series.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
Best Weight Loss Program For Women To Make Your Stomach Disappear?
Does anyone know of the fastest weight loss system for women? I've heard alot about http://www.TrimYourFat.com - and I signed up for their free trial - but I figured I would see if anyone here has tried something that worked well.

    • ANSWER:
Try taking multivitamins every day. Because it gives your body the nutrients you don't or can't give it and because it keeps your body from eating at your muscle. I started a month ago after I found out I had been working out so hard that my body was eating at my muscle, and since then I have been able to lose over ten pounds. Every day I take it I notice a difference and if I don't take it I stay the same. My waistline shrunk 3 inches and my hipline shrunk 2 inches. I also have more energy to work out than before.
I heard that some people never notice a difference in weight with it, but most people do, so try it for about a week and see.

  2. QUESTION:
Very fast weight loss for morbidly obese woman?
I need to lose a massive amount of weight very quickly, at least 30kg for medical reasons, I'm morbidly obese, and am finding it really hard to lose "any" weight, I'm type 2 diabetic and have chronic pain that restricts many forms of excersise, I'm truly not making excuses, I want to do whatever it takes as my Dr told me yesterday that if I keep going this way I'll be dead in 5 years, and that I have a 1 in 4 chance of havig a stroke.....I'm only 35....MOST IMPORTANTLY I don't want to leave my family, I don't over eat, I have about 3 full meals during a 7 day week, and yes I know I have to eat small meals often being diabetic, I just have no appertite, I'm having xrays and ultra sounds of my abdominal and pelvic areas to see if I have an obstruction.......PLEASE HELP ME IF YOU CAN, no need for nasty comments, I hate myself enough as it is.

    • ANSWER:
You need to combine exercise with a healthy diet. You have 3 full meals, but how big are they?

I would recommend tracking your calories - sometimes it can be a real eye-opener!

      I use www.thedailyplate.com, but there's also www.fitday.com, www.sparkpeople.com, etc. They're all free.

The Daily Plate one will give you calorie goals for each day to lose 1 - 2 pounds a week. Unfortunately 2 pounds a week is the max you should lose if you do it in a healthy way.

Don't hate yourself, just find the motivation to lose weight and you'll be fine. Just remember it's not a diet, it's a lifestyle change!

EDIT - and please don't listen to the spammers with their cleanses and miracle pills. They don't work for in the long-run and can cause more harm than good.

What you need to do is ditch this Anne Collins thing and go to a weight loss spa. I went to Fitness Ridge Weight Loss Spa in St. George, UT and lost 34 pounds in 4 weeks. Great hiking and terrific staff.

Stop wasting your time with this Anne Collins stuff.

  7. QUESTION:
Why do men lose weight faster than women?
Why is weight loss harder for women than men?

    • ANSWER:
It is true that men have higher basal metabolic rates per pound of bod weight (substantially higher), and men also have hormonal differences, but there is one more important point to mention and that is body fat location. Hormonal differences can cause fat depostion in different places. Women tend to put fat on around their legs and seat, while men tend to put on belly fat (after puberty). You have probably seen men with big guts and skinny legs, but you don't ever see women who look like this. This fat is much harder to lose than belly fat. Men who put fat on around their legs and seat will have also have a tough time losing that fat. On the plus side leg fat is not as bad for you as belly fat.

  8. QUESTION:
Smartburn with Hoodie--weight loss for women... ?
I recently bought the Smartburn with Hoodie for women weight loss pills. It says it is total body weight loss including belly butt and thighs.....which are exactly the spots I need to lose weight from. Has anybody tried these pills and do they actually work? I plan to eat better and walk 2-3 times a week for half an hour plus other excercises around home. Do you think I will actually see results and how fast?

    • ANSWER:
I have been through it all and know what's it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can't be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I've worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.

Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.

First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can't eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising...

This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it's good for the heart.

However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It's so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I've found a great addition to help any one out, it's a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don't get all crazy on me and say diet pills don't work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn't meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It's an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace. com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it's the best pill I've tried and I've tried cupboards full. Now this doesn't mean you have to follow my foot steps but I've successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.

Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.

  9. QUESTION:
What are some weight loss pills that work for women?
I've tried slim fast and gained my weight back after one month. Has anyone ever tried a pill or supplement thats had permanent results? I am still exercising AFTER Ive stopped slim fast...

    • ANSWER:
Hey instead of taking weight loss pills why don't you try a few easy tricks that might even work better than pills? I helped many lose their weight without taking a single diet pill.

Let me just explain few tricks. You said that you still exercise. Thats really great! Please always do that. Exercises are good for general health, just keep doing that. But keep in mind these tricks.

Eat 4-5 times daily but eat smaller portions of food. And always, eat breakfast. That is the most important meal. Because your digestive system must start in the morning. After at least 2 meals take easy 20 minute walk or easy exercise. Do not workout hard after the meals. Because the goal here is to stimulate your metabolism and easy exercises right after easy meals do just that.

When you eat food chew it really good. Chew at least 15 times so that the enzymes can start working in your mouth. Remember digesting begins in mouth! This is the most important thing.

Soda and sugar drinks are prohibited!

If you do this, you don't need diet pills because you are naturally stimulating your metabolism. You give your body a signal to stop stockpiling the fat cells and use old stored fat cells as energy on your workouts.

And do not ever starve your body on a single low calorie diet again. Such diets send your body a signal that you are starving and body's defense is that it starts storing energy as fat cells because fat cells are stored energy for emergencies.

  10. QUESTION:
What is the best calorie intake for faster weight loss for a 32 year old 200 lb. woman?
I am so confused...I want to lose it in a healthy way,and I read everything from 1000 to 2000 calories a day...some who say calories don't matter, exercise does, and some that say eat less, exercise not so much..help me!!!:-)

    • ANSWER:
1500 is a good place to start. Don't get down below 1200 if you are exercising regularly, you'll need the energy from the calories for your workouts.

  11. QUESTION:
Don't you get tired of the fast-weight loss questions?!?
I'm so tired of reading "how do I lose 25ilbs in two weeks" "I need to tone-up by the end of the month" blah blah. I'm not a fitness freak but I'm a sane woman who knows what's healthy. Every once in a while I'd like to see a post where someone places a possible -and healthy- goal to get into shape because it's good for them, and not because they want to look good for an ex they'll be running into in 3 weeks. Doesn't anybody care about health and healthy goals anymore????

    • ANSWER:
THANK YOU! People on here are completely ridiculous. "Im not going to eat for 3 weeks, how much can I lose?" "Im 13 and I need to lose 6lbs by next week" "My friends think Im skinny, but I dont think so (pic included)" SO annoying lol

Ive only seen a few good questions on here, and I am always more than happy to help them. Im really getting tired of telling 10yr olds that anorexia is bad and to go outside and play...

Do the alli pills really work to lose weight ?
I've had my eye on the alli weight loss pills for a while. one of my friends started using it and he says he can see a difference...but he's a guy. guys bodies lose weight faster than women. Have any of you guys used it ? whats your opinion on it ? did it work ? and if it did how much did you lose & how long did it take you to lose it ?

    • ANSWER:
Alli, also known as Xenical in prescription form (Orlistat) is a medication that inhibits the intake of fat. This may have a small effect on calorie intake, but a negligible one. There are a few problems with Alli.

. Carbs, not fat, is more responsible for obesity.
. Those on Alli tend to indulge, as they feel the pill is inhibiting much more than it actually does.
. Supplements teach nothing about proper eating and exercise, and weight is put back on.
. As fat intake is limited, so isn't vitamins and minerals, which may cause a deficiency.
. Some of the side effects are not very attractive (including bowel issues).

A supplement that suppresses appetite would be more effective, though these have their own side effects.

Any supplement you take should be in conjunction with a diet and exercise program.

safest weight loss pill supplement for women?
I took some pills called hot rocks but they make me dizzy and I fell like throwing up. I want to know the fastest and safest that has worked for you or anyone you know.

    • ANSWER:
working out is the safest. We all know that. Pills can be dangerously dramatic, and I suggest a (if you are seriously obese) stomach staplement or a lapic removal (getting your fat sucked out). But those are all expensive and risky. Please consider working out like you should! Eat veggies and perhaps go on a Percent daily Values diet.

WHAT'S A WEIGHT LOSS DIET THAT WORKS!?
Like, I need to lose weight and I'm becoming extremely unmotivated...I tried the starvation diet, bleh! Nooo way. I lasted 2 days...I was going to try the oatmeal diet, but I read somewhere that it's only for short-term use...and I'm probably going to be on a diet for like 4-5 months...not a week, haha you get my drift?

My brother lost a lot of weight when he was about my age...he told me that he ate 3 square meals a day...

I'm kind of trying to avoid chicken and meat and so forth, (and sometimes it's cooked for dinner..bleh) so I just want to cut all of that out.

Men lose weight 25% faster than women too, so that pretty much explains why he lost the weight so fast...

Anyways...I want a diet that I can stick to, and that would actually make me lose weight...I do roughly about 1hour of exercise a day so yeah xD

    Thanks in advance.

    • ANSWER:
go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food
after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on
your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If
you don't eat wheat then you don't eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don't eat junk food, and you don't eat biscuits. But your
diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans.

  23. QUESTION:
Why are my colleagues being so petty and mean about my weight loss?
After a stern warning from my doctor about my likelihood of developing diabetes in the next few years I decided to change my eating habits and take up exercise. I switch my diet to 100% clean, home cooked wholefoods and worked out about an hour or so 6 days a week. I lost a lot of weight fast going from 220 to 140 in about 4 months. I work in an office with all women and at first as I was still wearing my old clothes my weight loss was not noticed, it was only after buying clothes in a smaller size people began to notice. At this point I had lost about 30lbs and women I worked with said I looked better and so on but not long after that they started up with comments such as I shouldn't be starving myself (I'm not as I eat about 1800 cals a day), I should lose too much more as I was fine now and that I wouldn't suit being too slim as well as lot's off encouragement to eat cakes etc in work and told I was a killjoy and no fun when I would decline. I did not really like talking much about my weight loss and if people asked how I was doing it and I said healthy food and plenty of exercise the looked a bit disappointed.
Now I am 139lbs (not a stick insect) and a UK size 10/12 which I am happy with although I am still losing a weight slowly and I think my weight will settle at about 135lbs which is fine for me 5 foot 5 inch height. I am happy with my results but still experiencing a lot of negative comments at work. We had a company dinner and dance last weekend and I went out a bought a new dress, not low cut or shot but very pretty and in a size 12. I wasn't exactly glammed up just a touch of make up but I was hardly there before th catty comments started. One woman I work with and though I got on well with had too much to drink and said that I thought I was something special now I was slim and that just because I was thinner now didn't mean that my (and I quote) "p*ssy was gold plated" I did get quite a bit of male attention that night but it was so unusual for me that if anything it made me feel uncomfortable, I really wasn't asking for it just enjoying not feeling like an elephant for once! I used to be the fattest in the group, but with a nice face. Now I am one of the slimmest and I think it has ruffled a few feathers and all the negativity is making my working day quite unpleasent. What should I do to smooth thinks out with my colleagues and why are they being so petty?
I don't think I have bragged about it. I don't really like talking about my weight loss. A lot of the women I work with are always on diets and talk about it non stop. I think thats a bit boring really.
My weight loss plan was real simple. I am a vegetarian but before I ate a lot of ready meals and was always hungry so snacked on sweets and pastries etc. I changed my diet so that I ate all home cooked food, all fresh veggies, fruit, home baked wholemeal bead, brown rice, lentils etc I had lot's of salads and indian dahls etc and supplemented my diet with the odd protein shake to help with muscle repair. My total calories averaged about 1800 a day. I had trouble sometimes eating it all sometimes it seemed so much!
As for working out I did about an hour of cardio everyday 6 days a week mixing it up to keep my body guessing so one day I'd do interval training and the next day I'd do a long moderate intensity walk on the treadmill at an incline. I also did resistance training with weights three times a week. I made sure I got lot's of sleep and had a rest day every week.
I used the Sauna at the gym a couple of times a weel as well, which I think helped.

    Simple!

Whoa! There is lots of stuff going on here! Your friends were comfortable with the "fat & happy you" and suddenly you have become svelte! No doubt, there is a lot of ambivalence on their part regarding who you are now!

We all expect our friends to be happy for us if we lose weight, fall in love, or win the lottery. But in truth, those kinds of things change the dynamic of the relationship! It makes your friends uncomfortable if you are suddenly a different person.

Cut them some slack. As they become more comfortable with your slim self, they should be able to regroup and accept it. This has all happened pretty fast! Just be sure that YOU don't become a prima donna now that you are slim and beautiful!

And, Darlin', please tell me how you lost 80 lbs. in four months!?! I want to bottle it and sell it! Then my friends will have to deal with the RICH MARY! (And I will have your problem!)

    Thank you.....

    • ANSWER:
You might lose weight with soy now, but it will come back and bite you in the butt with health problems and probably weight gain, later. It will screw up your endocrine system, too. ONLY use naturally fermented soy, like organic soy sauce.

To lose weight the fastest with exercise:
rebound on trampoline or safe rebounder every day to detox you of toxins that cling to extra water weight - helps get rid of weight, toxins and cellulite, and tones EVERYTHING. More effective than running, and better on your joints.

Body wraps can help shift fat but you HAVE to be diligent to drink water and avoid fat, caffeine and sugar or the fat just re-deposits. Benefits: shifts toxins out, compresses tissue so it is firmer and smaller than before, now that the toxins and their buffering excess water weight have been transferred out. The cells actually "stick back together" closer than before.

Beware of too much cardio, it teaches your body to use and store fat effectively unless you diet brutally.

Use a program like Jorge Cruise's 12-second sequence or Rob Poulos Fat Burning Furnace or Shapely Secrets intensive isometrics to really, really push your muscles. This will pump up your fat burning more than cardio, and it will pump it up all the time. If you do sit ups, please, please be kind to your neck. Do comprehensive workouts so you don't get out of balance.

Your water plan and multiple meal plan usually works great for people at this stage of dieting, and your free day is highly recommended by many experts. To lose weight at a consistent pace, you'll want to keep your calorie intake in check at each meal, while at the same time making sure you get plenty of calories each day to build muscle. Digestive enzymes will help prevent undigested material from pooching out your belly (soy inhibits digestion, and can slowly lead to a pooch. So do most whole grain products that are available today, because of the way they are prepared. Stick with sprouted whole grain breads to minimize this problem). Take high quality probiotics.

Do a metabolic typing test. Some people lose weight much, much easier when they eat according to their type. You can eat all the lean chicken you want, but if you need fatty lamb to balance your metabolism, you aren't going to lose weight very easily eating lean chicken, and you'll feel crappier than you need to, to boot. There are tests online, look for Dr. Wolcott's, he's one of the foremost guys in the field. Dr. Mercola is another resource that is available easily online. Or try your library or Amazon to get books to help you do this. Look for Wolcott's book on Metabolic Typing, Mercola's Total Health books, Rudolf Wiley's Biobalance I and II.

    • ANSWER:
Cut out all sugars & starches. No sodas, juices, cookies, candy, cakes, etc. As healthy as fruit may be, it's natural sugars do not only not promote fat loss, they actually promote fat storage (fructose is the most lipogenic carb).

Make sure half your meals are green non starchy vegs & eat lots of protein & good fats, limit your complex carb portions to no more than your protein portion.

  27. QUESTION:
Help! I need to drop weight fast - 6 days!?
We are doing the biggest loser at work (winner takes 0). I have lost 30 lbs. up to this point and am currently in 1st place, however the woman who is right behind me has not weighed in for 3 weeks. She is a lot smaller to me, so I would need to lose 5lbs. to her 2lbs (winner is based on % of weight loss). I am looking for a way to drop weight fast (even if it is just water weight) for the weigh in on Thursday. I think I would be the winner if I could lose 10lbs. I am exercising daily and will continue losing weight the "right" way after this weigh-in. The competition is just so close that I need that extra cushion....

    Thanks in advance!

How should a girl take a comment from a guy regarding weight loss?
It is a very common fact that many women around the world frequently go on diets to lose a few pounds or in some cases stone. This can utilise the assistance of weight loss schemes such as Weight Watchers, Slim Fast, etc. All this done in an effort to look good, and why not!

However, whilst I have known some big girls lose lots of weight and get comments from guys saying how good they look because of their transformation. But, at the same time, I have known some girls who might be 20lbs over weight take badly to a guy making a comment where they say for example "wow, you've lost some weight, you're looking good"..... I have heard responses from the girl along the lines of "Are you saying I was fat before?" followed by a sudden hatred of the guy.

So, how far should a guy take his comments or should he just keep his mouth shut on all occsassions?

If you want to compliment a girl, you can do so without mentioning weight. Simply saying, "You look good" is sufficient.

    • ANSWER:
i know this sounds silly but if you have a wii console, the wii fit plus is definitely worth buying. I lost a stone and a half by using that daily and going to my local slimming world (i live in the uk)

i also went running quite often and that really helps improve fitness so you can do more exercise each time. If you want your stomach more toned then sit ups and jack knifes really help.

Also make sure you have a balanced diet, so 3 meals a day and maybe one or two snacks. Try and get your 5-a-day and don't eat after 7pm.

If you have a high calorie intake in the morning you are likely to burn it off in the daytime, but if you have a high calorie intake in the evening, you on't burn any of it off as you will be sleeping so it will turn into fat.

Hope i helped and good luck!

How do I tackle loose skin after weight loss?
I am in kidney failure so I do not have the strength to do much vigorous exercises. But here is my dilemma.

Over the past 13 years I have been battling kidney disease and my weight has fluctuated all over the place. Using super high doses of steroids to try to generate kidney functioning I went from 130 to 200 pounds in 6 months. I had a transplant in 2002, but it is now rejecting.

Being in kidney failure again, I have had significant weight loss and very fast. I had been exercising up until a few months ago and although still overweight at 154 I was firmed up quite a bit and had good abs because of my bender ball. However I am only 5 feet tall.

So I have lost 27 pounds in about 60 days and have not been where I could exercise. I am not strong enough. I try to use some hand weights to work on my arms; but not much. WOW! With your current state of health, I admire your concern for wanting

that are a problem to you.... knee length shorts, capris, elbow length tops, etc.
Good luck with your up coming transplant, and best wishes for improved health.

any tips on how you work out and eat?

    thanksss :]

    oh btw...
im 5'4, 107 lbs, and 14 years old

    • ANSWER:
For your weight/height, you shouldn't do anything drastic. Stick to a good cardio workout and drink plenty of water in place of any other liquids you normally drink and you'll see a difference.

For the cardio, do interval runnings, where you sprint for a short amount of time (30 seconds) and then jog for a longer time (1.5 minutes) and then keep adding more time to the sprint and less on the jog until you can do a minute of each. You'll be speeding up your metabolism as well as be burning more calories after you're done working out.

    Postpartum weight loss?
Okay, well before I was pregnant and tried to lose weight I could lose so much soooo fast, but now that I'm 7 weeks postpartum I've cut down on a lot of my bad eating habits, but still the scale hardly moves, I feel like i've been doing well, but am seeing no results...I've heard it's harder for women to lose weight after a baby because your body is still used to storing fat is this true? and if so, what are ways to get your body back to the old body...

    • ANSWER:
I am really sorry to tell you this but baby weight can take up to 2 years to ward off. My stats- I am a dance instructor I WORK OUT 5 days a week, I eat healthy, balanced meals, I don't drink, etc... I still have 10lbs from my past pregnancy. It takes time for your body to release the hormones. For every woman it is different but alot of my friends experience this. You are only 7 weeks, you just got the ok to resume normal exercise. Get out, get moving, eat healthy and rest. Sleep has alot to do with it too. I truly did not start seeing results until my daughter started sleeping through the night. It plays a major role on your digestive system.

Hopefully you are breast feeding, its the healthiest plus it burns ALOT of calories. Just give yourself a break and enjoy that baby!

  36. QUESTION:
Am I losing weight too fast?
I have been really unhealthy the last 3 years of my life since graduating from high school. At 19 I was 6ft tall and 180 pounds. On my 22nd birthday I was 312 pounds and needed a change. About 6 weeks ago I made a life change; I stopped smoking, drinking, and I only eat meat once or twice a week. I no longer drink juice or soda (because they both have too many calories) and I drink about 10-12 glasses of water a day. I don’t eat any sugar or refined carbohydrates. My diet is made up of fresh fruit (4-5 a day) and mostly raw green veggies. I workout 5 days a week burning over for 70-95 minutes each day burning over 5500 a week. I don’t slip up; I have the willpower to get down to a healthy weight. Over the last 6 weeks I have lost 6 weeks I have lost 35 pounds. I average about 5-6 pounds a week. My problem is I have I group of friends (all women) that are trying to lose weight also. They only loss about one to two pounds or something nothing in a week and they really make me feel bad about the work I am doing. They tell me I am anorexic and that I work out to much and that if I am not only losing 1-2 pounds a week I am doing it wrong. I think I am just working harder than them because I have more will for it because I want to be healthy so bad. Want do you think am I losing weight to fast?

    • ANSWER:
5-6 pounds a week is fine, it is coming off fast now b/c you had a lot to lose and you drastically changed your eating habits and exercise habits. you are being healthy and going at this aggressively, good job. your friends are correct that usually 1-2 pounds a week is good, but 5-6 is ok too as long as its not more than that and you arent doing it in an unhealthy way. you are doing what you are supposed to be doing to lose weight, and you just happen to shed the pounds faster than your friends. keep it up, dont let them discourage you. if you feel good, then keep it up.

  37. QUESTION:
major fears about postpartum weight loss and being overweight forever...need advice from moms!?
So I am 4 months along now, and I have been a bit overweight for much of my life, but not too badly, anywhere from 0-15 lbs over the strict limits for BMI (I'm 5'8"). My fitness level has always been good/fairly muscular.

But my weight has been creeping up on my over the last 3 years or so, ever since I turned 30. At the beginning of that period I was at a normal weight, about 158 lbs. But then I quit my waitressing job (which apparently burned a lot of calories) to finish up my PhD, which was great in terms of making a living but also led to a much more sedentary lifestyle in front of a computer once I got an academic job.

By this time last year I'd gained 10 lbs and by the time I married my husband I weighed about 170lbs. After eating plenty of Christmas goodies, I found I was pregnant, starting off at 173 lbs. I know this isn't so horrible in the grand scheme, but having spent most of my life in the lower 160's it filled me with dread to be starting off at this weight.

I am terrified of gaining so much that I won't ever see the 150's again. So far I have gained 7 lbs. I am trying to keep my weight under control with a more conscious focus on diet and exercise, but in the last couple of weeks I've packed on the majority of this weight, and watching the scale hit 180 makes me wonder how long it's going to take me - if ever! - to have my body back again. I still have more than half my pregnancy to go, and I was really hoping to keep my gain down to 15 lbs. That means I can only gain another 8 lbs with my baby over the course of the next 24 weeks!!! That's less than half a pound a week that I can gain now while still gaining the minimum required. :(

How fast did your weight come off after your baby was born? How much did you lose right away? After 6 weeks? 6 months? A year? Did you ever get back to your prepregnancy weight? Thanks for your answers and helping me to put this into perspective from women who have actually gone through this.

    • ANSWER:
Oh I feel you! I was 36 when I got pregnant with my twins and a size 13. By the end of my pregnancy I was a 26 (!!) and had gained 65 lbs! Darn those root beer floats! :) But when I delivered I dropped 35lbs right away and was in a 16 when I went home from the hospital. I still have about 25 lbs to lose but now that its getting warmer out I will be able to take the babies out for walks and that will help alot! Just make sure you walk as much as you can now-it will help keep your weight under control and will help with delivery. With my 1st child I was 19 and gained a total of 40lbs and it took over a year to get back into shape but I went through a divorce when she was only 4 months old so I'm sure depression didn't help at all! My husband tells me all the time that it's baby fat and so it doesn't really count! Of course that is usually after I've gone looking for something to wear and am in tears! :) A good diet and exercise is important but whats a few pounds compared to a healthy baby? If you breast feed then it will help burn calories too. Mainly I would say be sensible about it and try not to stress over the weight (ha ha!) because it's for a good cause and you can always take it back off again. Good Luck and Congrats!

  38. QUESTION:
    Little Weight Loss Questions?
Alright, so I posted something similar to this about a month or two back, and I didn't really get the answers I was looking for. I figured I would try again.

I've decided on a life-long career, a U.S. Army Helicopter Pilot. Me, being only as tall as 5'3, have to fit into a certain weight category. I figure within the next few years I may grow an inch or two, but I might not at the same time. Anyway, for my current height (5'3) the weight requirements for women are anywhere between 107 and 141 lbs. I'm telling you right now that I weight about seventy to eighty pounds MORE than 140.

I have four years to take the weight off, and I figure that I can do it if I really, really put my mind to it. My new routine has been going on for the last month, and I still haven't gotten much results. All I have done for the last year is drink water - no lemonade, iced tea, soda, etc., and still not a whole heck of a result - maybe five to ten pounds.

So, my idea is that I'm going to work on our elliptical for fifteen to thirty minutes per day, watch what I eat more, still only drink water, still stay away from fast food, keep going to the Gym, etc.

I wanted to know if anybody had any little tips. Just small things that may or may not have helped you along the way. Maybe just small little exercises that you think made a difference, so on and so forth.

I'd appreciate if you didn't just reply with websites, because I hate having to scan through pages and look for an answer.

    Thanks in advance. <3

  39. QUESTION:
Joke: How to lose weight fast?
A guy calls a company and orders their 5-day, 5kg weight loss program.

The next day, there's a knock on the door and there stands before him a voluptuous, athletic,
19 year old babe dressed in nothing but a pair of Nike running shoes and a sign around her neck.

She introduces herself as a representative of the weight loss company.
The sign reads, "If you can catch me, you can have me."

Without a second thought, he takes off after her. A few miles later puffing and puffing, he finally gives up.
The same girl shows up for the next four days and the same thing happens.
On the fifth day, he weighs himself and is delighted to find he has lost 5kg as promised.

He calls the company and orders their 5-day/10kg program. The next day there's a knock at the door and there stands the most stunning,
beautiful, sexy woman he has ever seen in his life. She is wearing nothing but Reebok running shoes and a sign around her neck that reads,
"If you catch me you can have me".

Well, he's out the door after her like a shot. This girl is in excellent shape and he does his best, but no such luck.
So for the next four days, the same routine happens with him gradually getting in better and better shape.

Much to his delight on the fifth day when he weighs himself, he discovers that he has lost another 10kg as promised.
He decides to go for broke and calls the company to order the 7-day/25kg program.

"Are you sure?" asks the representative on the phone. "This is our most rigorous program." "Absolutely," he replies,
"I haven't felt this good in years."

The next day there's a knock at the door; and when he opens it he finds a huge muscular guy standing there wearing nothing but pink running
shoes and a sign around his neck that reads, "If I catch you, you are mine."

He lost 33 kilos that week.

  40. QUESTION:
How much weight should I lose? Do you have any tips on how to lose weight fast?
I am 16 years old and have gained a lot of weight recently- I am talking like 25 pounds in two months. I am 5'7 and 175 lbs now. I now how a "hard" belly and a fat woman ass and very big thighs. I used to be able to fit in 30x31 jeans and I now barely fit in 34 sized jeans. Please tell me an ultimate goal for my weight loss. What are some healthy breakfasts that I can eat before school and some good lunches? What is a good calorie number for the day? What is a good workout plan? Can I have a flat belly by June?

    • ANSWER:
I am 18 years old, and in almost the exact situation. I am 5'6" tall, and 179.4 lbs. A little over 4 weeks ago I was 186.6 lbs. I lost 7.2 pounds in a little over a month. My ultimate weight loss goal is 135 lbs. Maybe you should aim for 140 lbs.

Healthy breakfast: I love oatmeal with fresh bananas or blueberries mixed in. Or, if you are in a rush, grab a protein bar and a piece of fruit or cheese (or both if you're hungry).

Lunches: I like to pack my lunch. I eat a lot of tuna on potato rolls (w/o mayo or any condiment ( mustard if you'd like). I also love sandwiches. Meat, cheese, light mayo on WHOLE WHEAT bread is a great lunch. I always have 3 extras (at least) with my lunch. I normally have chips and some sort of fruit, and a dessert of some kind.

For most of my food, I track my calories on an online journal. caloriecount.about.com is my favorite site for that.

Working out: Just do cardio (anything that gets your heart rate up and you sweating) for 30 minutes each day. I love this one program "Couch to 5k" Its a great program to start running with. It seems difficult at first, but you really get into it.

Yes, I think you could have a flat belly by June if you really try.

  41. QUESTION:
    Weight Loss?
My wife and I have both been exercising more and eating better for about the last three months. I've been able to lose weight a bit faster than she has. This last holiday weekend, we fell off the good eating wagon, and it's apparent that I put on some weight, and she didn't change. So, that begs the question, why??? What I figure is, that from an evolutionary standpoint, men are wired to gain and lose weight much more quickly than women are, and my thinking is that when food was scarce, our male ancestors had to be able to run, and kill more food, and our female ancestors had to stay behing and nourish our ancestral young. Anybody agree or disagree?

    • ANSWER:
I think there may be something to that.
Still doesn't make it fair though!!! :)

  42. QUESTION:
Calorie intake problems with weight loss?! (I am a male too NOT A female!)?
Hello guys! I am running into a little bit of trouble with my weight loss program. I know this is a question that mostly only females asks, and I feel kind of awkward asking this, but I am going to ask anyways, so I please ask for the best of your help. I have been making a major lifestyle change over the past 9 months and I have went from being ~185 pounds and have know become around ~138 pounds. I am striving very hard for the last of my efforts to get rid of the last of my stomach fat but have been having a very hard time achieving that lately. A little background about myself is that I am currently 15, and have been moderately active during the school year, but it has slowed down a little because of summer break and sports at school stopping. I usually worked out once a week during the school year, and now that summer is starting, I plan on working out about 3 times a week at the gym. I also use the dietary supplement CLA to aid in my weight loss along with all my hard efforts. Back to the main problem though, I believe that I may be eating way to little calories and causing to 1) do harm to my body and 2) slow down my weight loss. I on average consume around 1,000 to 1,500 calories and 1,500 being my highest. However throughout the week, I will sometimes have 1 or 2 days where I eat around 1,800-2,000 calories, and I feel terrible after that and feel like I have caused weight gain on myself. Know, after doing numerous research, I have convinced myself, but I am not sure if it is true or not, but have put myself in starvation mode and have stopped myself from losing weight. Also, I do not know if I am taking in way to little calories or if I am about right to lose weight. I think that at 1,500 I am eating my tops for the day to lose weight. Thank YOU SO MUCH for helping me out especially for a guy who doesnt really feel comfortable talking about something that usually only women do! I have put a lot of effort to get this question right, I would like to ask for the same amount of effort back in your answers. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, and I will respond very fast. ONCE AGAIN THANKS!!
I also make sure I usually have the same breakfast everyday which is Kashi Hot Cereal, and sometimes some plan yogurt with some preserves depending on how hungry I am, and then for Lunch, I will usually have an orowheat sandwich thin with some oscar mayer deli fresh meat and a small cup of jello. For dinner, I usually have the fairly healthy cooking that I have my parents make, and lastly for my snacks throughout the day, I may sometimes have a bag of baked lays chips and the later on a few cookies or a little sweet cereal. I also always have 8 cups of water a day and if not more. ONCE AGAIN THANKS A MILLION!!
Ok, I like your answer a lot, but am i also already in starvation mode? It also looks like you saying I am going to need to work out a lot more then too. Also what happens if I just keep eating around 1500 max a day?
And if I start eating those 1500 or more calories a day, am I going to start to gain weight too?

    • ANSWER:
first of all congratulations on getting this far! as your body loses weight, it gets harder and harder to come off. you are going to have to work harder. i think its a great idea to start working out 3 times a week, it will kick your metabolism into gear and help the weight come off. when you hit another wall, try doing cardio twice a week, and weight lifting 3 times a week, or something like that to switch it up and keep your body guessing.

but onto the calories! you are definitely not eating enough. males need AT LEAST 1500 calories a day just for a normal day. thats without working out or anything. my advice to you is to go online and look up a daily calorie intake calculator, take time to find a good one where you enter your age, height, weight, etc etc. it will tell you how many calories you need to sustain the weight you are at right now. to lose weight, cut 500 calories off that number, and that is what you should be eating. 500 calories times 7 days a week is 3500 calories, which is equal to losing 1 pound. if you want to lose more, cut more, but there is a certain point where you cant take off too many calories or you will go into starvation mode. another thing you can do is look up the calorie intake for your goal weight, and eat that many calories.

here is a good website. http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm enter your info, and in the drop down menu for exercise level, choose basal metabolic rate. it tells you what you need to sustain, lose, and REALLY lose. good luck!!

  43. QUESTION:
What do you think of the Atkins diet?
I have tried everything and I have lost ten pounds and my belly is smaller but still not where I want to be so I am looking at other methods. I know many women who have done Atkins and liked it. It’s an all meat (for the most part) with very little carbohydrates and sugar. This is good for weight loss fast I suppose but is this diet easy to sustain? Also, with no carbs I don’t know if my jogs will be all that productive. Just looking for some general feedback from experiences.

    Thank you

    • ANSWER:
I don't think there is any further doubt that the restricted carbohydrate diet, which has been around for hundreds of years, is THE method most likely to be successful for the average person in the sugar/cereal/potato engorged western world! Doctors are gradually swallowing their pride and admitting that low fat diets do not work as well as low carb ones. The theory is tricky but sound.

"Atkins", which is just a particularly popular type of low-carb, fat-burning diet, is not about meat only at all! It is a high vegetable, high protein, moderate fat and low carb and zero "sugar" diet. It is not easy or crazy, just because you can eat bacon and eggs once a week! Although I used to be suspicious too. Even my doctor says eat lots of lean meat and fish now and go easy on the OJ.

Oh, and of course you will gain weight back if you go back to eating too much carbs and stop exercising! There is no diet that will permanently change your metabolism so you can like a fatso again and stay skinny! You can eat a bit more when you've lost the weight you want.

  44. QUESTION:
rapid weight loss please help ?
first of all, I am a fairly intelligent woman who knows a lot about nutrition and exercise and is familiar with all the dangers of starving yourself etc. etc. my question is ( and please, I really know about slowing down your metabolism, depriving your body and all that): is there any way to loose weight super fast, given that you keep a strict regime for a month and only a month, take vitamins, exercises as much as you can. how low can you actually go in your calories if you do it for a short period of time? some people fast, does this actually work? you read all he time that when you starve yourself, your metabolism slows down and you stop losing weight, but anorectics (not that I aspire to be one :( (), they do lose weight, right? what I really would like to know, can I survive 2-4 weeks, eating only the minimum, drinking protein shakes, exercising and taking vitamins and lose an amount of weight that is worth doing this? Im talking about losing at least 10-15 pounds. has anybody tried to do it sensibly? has it worked? can this cause permanent damage to your bones or do other damage? thank you.

    • ANSWER:
well with anorexia yeah your metabolism does slow down horribly but no matter how slow it is it still needs to be burning something
usually the "average" anorexic girl will eat 100-600 calories daily which is like an apple so yeah.
So even though the metabolism is slowed down to very slow pace the number of calories eaten still isnt anywhere close to enough to where it needs to be so the body immediately goes and burn muscle and then to fat and then when it gets to a certain point (i know you probably heard this) but it goes and begin to eat your organs.
So when you here people say about how you "gain" weight as an anorexic but it wouldnt be the case becuase you wouldnt be considered anorexic if you were gain weight
Its just a myth that people tell teenage girls thinking about going anorexic i guess
So yes if you restrict to the low of calories you will lose weight and you will NOT be healthy

      On the other hand.
Anorexia is not an easy thing to achieve. if it was simple task then most women in America would already be anorexic
so if your planning on cutting below 1000 calories be ready becuase you will gain weight if you dont eat enough one day and overeat for the next week
You will have horrible mood swings
In some cases your hair does tend to fall out
and if you do lose 20-30 pounds in a short amount of time you will most likely have sagging skin.
even it its just 20 pounds and not 100 if your losing anything high than like 5 pounds in a rapid amount of time you skin will sag and you will be displeased

So take all of that into consideration and evaluate if you want to really go down that road.

      OR

stay within the healthy calorie range exercise regularly(NOT overexercising) and losing weight ina healthy manner
you will 10 times better if you lost 10 pounds the healthy than f you lost 30 pounds from not eating enough and overexercising

      Hope i helped.

  45. QUESTION:
How much weight did you lose on Weight Watchers?
I started the Weight Watchers points system 8 weeks ago and I've only lost 12lbs...I am a fairly large woman with 179lbs more to lose in order to get to my goal weight...I wish the weight would drop off faster...
I'd like to know from Weight Watchers clients (former or present), what were your results and how long did it take to reach your goal? If you used another means of weight loss, please share. I am just weighing out my options (no pun intended). Thank you in advance for your responses!

    • ANSWER:
Weight Watchers is set up to help you lose about 1-2 pounds a week. Generally the first couple weeks you will lose more but it is a slow but healthy process. I have been doing it for 16 weeks and have lost 22 pounds. My wife lost 50 in 6 months and has kept it off for 2 years now. She still counts points and we both will for the rest of our life. Not sure why Olivia thinks it can't be done, it is basically just counting calories.

12 pounds in 8 weeks is a really good number. Don't be discouraged that it is happening slowly cause if you quit it won't happen at all. Here are some tips that may help:

      1. You've lost 12 pounds - did you adjust your daily point allowance. Every time the 2nd digit of your weight changes you lose 1 point.

      2. Only use the 35 weekly points if you have a special occasion such as a birthday party or such, and then use as little as possible.

      3. If you haven't started exercising this can really help kick start the weight loss. Start of slowly with a casual stroll as far as you can handle and work your way up from there.

4, Do not add extra points for exercising. Remember, the goal is to lose weight

      5. Be sure you are calculating points correctly. If you have more than one serving of something you must recalculate the points multiplying the calories, fat & fiber by the number of servings.

The site below is a handy reference site for WW with points for dining out, food lists, recipes, articles and more. Good luck and don't throw in the towel. If you stick to the program there is no way that you won't lose weight.

Has anyone used any diet pills that have really worked
with low side effects? Also, I want something that gives

  47. QUESTION:
Weight loss and gain in pregnancy?
Ok so I know that this sounds so absurd and I me even asking it right now I feel ashamed to do it, but here it goes. Ok so I am 3 months pregnant and I am 5'11 and used to weigh 135lb give or take a few pounds. I have already gained almost 15lbs. I am now 149lbs. I used to model and I have really high standards for how my body looks and I actually haven't weighed this much ever and I am freaking out. I definitely know for a sure fact that I have acquired some sort of self-image/body image disorder and I don't know how to deal with this. Now my question isn't if my weight gain so far is normal because my doctor says according to my BMI I CAN gain about 35-40 pounds and it would still be considered healthy. I have never worked out really but has anyone out there ever started and were able to some what maintain their weight and still have a healthy baby? And, if not.. Are there any tricks to help myself accept this weight gain and stop freaking out about it? Or perhaps things I could eat that I good for pregnant women who don't want to gain a lot of weight? I stopped drinking pop and eating fast food and I am trying very hard to eat healthy.. Is this all just inevitable? Is there something I can do!??

    • ANSWER:
i was underweight before i got pregnant and i've been very thin since i was a teen. i gained about 50 pounds while i was pregnant, even though i exercised. that was tough, but my body gained the weight it needed to, and my doctor said everything looked fine. i'm 6 weeks postpartum and have already lost half of that without exercising at all. if you're eating well, that's all you can do. nature takes over your body and puts the pounds where it needs them - in my experience anyway. i let myself just love my body while pregnant and that made the weight gain so much easier to handle. i've suffered from an eating disorder for 10 years in the past and my pregnancy was the first time in a very long time that i appreciated my body. it's more difficult now, but i'm giving myself time to heal before losing the rest. you're sustaining another life - eat well, stay a little active, trust your body, and listen to the doctor. it's a beautiful time, don't spend it worrying about your weight!

  48. QUESTION:
Weight size for girls in order to have slim, toned arms?
I've already tried to google it, and I wasn't able to find a good answer. I found articles, but they all have something different written in them.

So, my question is this: What kind of weights should women use? I've tried using 3-5lb weights and doing 15-25 reps, and it didn't really seem to do much. I could be that I needed to use 8-10lbs and do more reps and sets, but I have yet to try that. At the moment, I'm trying to work with heavier weights, meaning 15-20lbs. I still try to do 15-20 reps (I usually get close to failure at 17 or 18, but I try to keep pushing). I want to make my arms look lean, and the less "big" muscle I gain, the better. I understand that my arms will probably look a bit bigger, but I'm trying to avoid man-arms.

So, what would work better as a long-term workout (I'll switch things up to prevent plateaus, but I mean in general). 15-20lbs weights for 15-25 reps, about 2-3 sets of each, or weights under 10lbs with a high number of reps? I know that using heavy weights for a few workouts won't build huge arms, I've read enough articles to know that, but I'm afraid that working with heavy weights for years will make me bulk up. So, are lighter weights better in the long run? Or is anything under 20lbs ok for girls as long as I do a high number of reps? Also, cardio is incorporated into the workout, so that goes without saying for me :)

Background info is: I'm 5'4", 17 years old, and have an average figure. My metabolic rate is decent. It's not super fast, but it's not slow either. I also run whenever I get the chance (Lately I haven't had a set schedule but I'm trying to get back into one), and once the snow melts and it gets warmer, I'll be biking and swimming. I try to balance my cardio workouts with weight work.

Also, I know I asked for a long-term answer, but is there a quick weight loss solution as well? I have prom in 3 months (I like to plan ahead), and since I don't plan to live off of lettuce a week before prom to fight into my dress, I want to get started now. So, for faster results, would using heavier weights do the trick, and then switching to lighter weights after prom is over? Or just sticking to a long-term plan through prom, and hoping that it shows some results by then? And of course, clean diet is essential :)

    Thanks in advance :)

    • ANSWER:
Wow lots of questions. Let me begin by saying that how your arms respond to doing heavy curls depends largely on your genetics. Look at your parents, brothers, sisters, and other relatives. Are any of them muscular? If you have the "right" genes, you will definitely gain muscle size if you continue to use heavy weights. If you are concerned about getting too big, lighten up.

If you are doing 20 reps with 20 lb dumbbells, your arms are quite strong already! Congratulations. Since you are only 17, I would recommend that you keep working with the heavier weights. When you can do 3 sets with 20 lbs, evaluate how your arms look. If you are happy with their size and shape, you can maintain it by dropping down to 10 lbs and doing lots of reps, 25-50 (should be no problem if you are as strong as you say). If you want to get bigger or measurably stronger, add 5 lbs.

I must also say that there are no such thing as "manly" arms. The muscles of the human body are beautiful when properly developed, whether on a man or a woman. A woman is not going to get huge biceps like Arnold without spending years in the gym, proper genetics, and to get really big, steroids. So you don't have to worry about that.

      Hope this helps.

  49. QUESTION:
For women who've lost 30+ pounds! Help!?
For women who clicked on this, congrats on your weight loss! Please share what you did to successfully lose the weight and keep it off like diet, exercise, etc. What did your meals consist of and when did u find time to work out between work and school(college)? Also, did you lose the weight fast or slow? I am 5'5 and 179 pounds and still gaining weight, i also dont feel very good and am very tired alot of the time. Oh and im not a big fan of veggies but i do like fruits. My goal is to lose 40 pounds, of course like anybody i want the instant gratification of losing weight fast but i know thats not how it works so i want to do it the healthy way! Your help is greatly appreciated!!

    • ANSWER:
160 to 120 lbs is what I did

I gave up eating eggs (I'm a vegetarian), and that pretty much eliminated most junk food from my diet. This, combined with exercising an hour a day (I went to the gym after classes, so you can go to the gym after work, fine one near your work, plus you avoid traffic). My exercise consisted of 30 min cardio, 20 min weights, and 10 min stretching. You can pretty much duplicate this formula with any The Firm videos you find on amazon. They're really good, although I'd extend the stretching segments to holding each stretch for 30 seconds. I also had to walk to and from classes, so that's about 2 hours of walking daily, in addition to the exercise. To duplicate that for you, just wear a pedometer, and see if you can get the 10,000 steps daily. If you haven't, then try a walk after dinner around your neighborhood. At work, you can take five minutes to walk around the office, even if it's just to get water or go to the bathroom, every hour. You'll hit a plateau if you don't increase the weights, though. When an exercise seems easy, up the weights! You don't have to change the routine if you don't want to. I started with step classes (which was 30 min steps, 20 min weights, 10 min stretching), then I added some kickboxing classes to the mix.

That, minus any portion control, pretty much got the first 20 lbs out of the way. It helped that I pretty much ate clean during this time, fruits, veggies, beans, whole grains. I also didn't snack, since I stayed at the dorms, and could only eat for meals. I also didn't portion control or worry about junk food, although it was already limited because of the no egg thing.

For the last 20 lbs I dropped, I did portion control. I don't advise you to try portion control until you've incorporated exercise into your routine. I actually vaguely followed the FDA's guidelines: 9" plate, half fruits & veggies, quarter whole grains, quarter beans. If I was still hungry, eat more fruits & veggies, but don't touch the protein or carbs. Of course, drinking lots of water helps. And don't deny junk, just keep it special, eating 1 item of junk, unrestricted, only twice a week.

      Hope that helps!

  50. QUESTION:
Should I try Alli weight loss pill?
I was looking at Alli weight loss pills in the chemists today but I am no sure if I should go for them. The seem to block the absorption of fat from your diet rather than break up the fat you have in your body. I am about 70lbs overweight but I don't eat a high fat diet most of my weight gain came after a car accident injury prevented me from exercising for a couple of years and over eating high sugar and high carb foods. I am very anemic and so am always needing a sugar hit to get through the day. I am vegetarian so most of my meals are low fat it's just the snacking that is really bad with me.
Also I am worried that Alli will stop me absorbing healthy fats and fat soluble vitamins. Studies show that women on very low fat diets have skin that ages faster not something I want as losing 70lbs creates a risk of loose skin and eating a very low fat diet while losing weight may contribute to this.

Still I would like a little help so maybe this alli is worth a try or if anyone can suggest a product that can help with low energy / sugar cravings and appetite control?

Would be great to know what you thing.
    Gary B

Your comment is very rude, I agree that eating too much sugar is a bad habit but the link between anemia and obesity does exist. I have been seeing endocrinologist who told me this. It is very common for those with chronic anemia to self medicate with sugar or other stimulents. It's not correct behaviour and I'm not excusing myself but it is a factor.

It is a shame as your advice otherwise is good. Too bad you spoiled it with your self righteous attitude.
My anemia is due to a hormonal imbalance which cause me to lose far too much blood during my periods. This is an ongoing issue for me and I have been hospitalised due to it several times.

    • ANSWER:
Hi I have a similar problem I am also anemic and vegetarian (seems to come with the territory!) I have only just started using Alli so its to early for me to say, but I suggest you do some reading up on Alli, and if you decide to go ahead and buy some, give it a week then evaluate how your body is responding to taking it. You can find a review of Alli here - http://www.natural-appetite-suppressant.co.uk/alli-diet-pill-review.html

      Hope this helps x
