And you do need some meat because without iron and protien, you aren't going to do your body much good.
Oh, and its total B*S that diet drinks wont make you gain weight, they will! Just because they don't have sugar doesn't mean you can still drink them! and FYI, all carbinated drinks are bad for your health.

I need to lose weight pretty fast...not a ton, maybe like 15lbs, and i know i should eat healthy and workout , but if i have a meal replacement shake for breakfast,lunch and a small healthy dinner, will i lose weight? i dont want a lot of protein in the shakes, i just need to know who has used them/if they will do what i want(healthy or unhealthy) and if anyone has lost weight. I'm pretty partial with shakes because they really do not fill you up, and they can lead you to feel deprived rather quickly, causing a binge later.Losing weight is ALL about calories in and calories out. That being said, yes meal replacement shakes WILL help you lose weight if at the end of the day, the calories that you expend are greater than what you have taken in.
Another downfall with shakes is that losing weight is really about a lifestyle change, so if you are not planning on drinking shakes as a meal replacement for the rest of your life, then I would strongly recommend you go a different way. Try planning your meals ahead of time to make sure that you are not going over your calorie allowance for the day, and that you are expending more calories than you are consuming.
Also, if you do decide to go with shakes, be very careful as to what the sugar content is. A lot of the time, these shakes are loaded with sugar, which causes the release of insulin (a hormone that causes your body to store anything in your bloodstream in your fat cells as quickly as possible when your blood glucose level is high)
I would recommend sticking to whole, natural foods. Not only will you be happier in the long run because you will actually be making a permanent change to your lifestyle (which is what keeps weight off in the long run, there is nothing worse than losing ten lbs only to gain it all back within a few months). There have also been a lot of studies regarding consuming liquid meals. They tend to digest more quickly, making you hungry much sooner, so you will actually end up eating more, or if you choose to ignore your hunger, you will feel starved.

I'm a guy 6'3 aprox 275lbs and I have a big build I'm 20 years old. When I was in high school I weighed about 220 and I liked that weight. I want to get back to that weight. Here is what I have been doing....Trying to eat under 1500 calories a day atleast under 2000. I try to eat only 10 grams of fat or less per meal. I'm going to the gym every night and I do cardio and try to burn 1000 calories and then I lift weights.
What else would anyone recomend for me?

I have been through it all and know what's it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can't be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I've worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.
First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can't eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising...
This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it's good for the heart.
However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It's so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I've found a great addition to help any one out, it's a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don't get all crazy on me and say diet pills don't work. Well first off eat well. You don't have to go on a stupid diet just stay healthy! Don't drink soda or anything.
Then do lots of cardio because that is was burns the fat and burns it faster. Plus if you do it in the morning your metabolism will work better throughout the day.
Then do lots of strength training the more muscle you have the more calories you burn just being alive. I thinks its called you resting metabolic rate. I would recommend working out 5 days a week. at least for 30 mins. and just stick with it because the more you do it the more you'll love it and feel better about everything. You need to combine exercise with a healthy diet. You have 3 full meals, but how big are they?I would recommend tracking your calories - sometimes it can be a real eye-opener!
I use www.thedailyplate.com, but there's also www.fitday.com, www.sparkpeople.com, etc. They're all free.
The Daily Plate one will give you calorie goals for each day to lose 1 - 2 pounds a week. Unfortunately 2 pounds a week is the max you should lose if you do it in a healthy way.
Don't hate yourself, just find the motivation to lose weight and you'll be fine. Just remember it's not a diet, it's a lifestyle change!
EDIT - and please don't listen to the spammers with their cleanses and miracle pills. They don't work for in the long-run and can cause more harm than good.
