In order to naturally drop 27 pounds in 3-4 weeks, it all boils down to two key principles. If you want to finally get weight loss success, then take just 60 quick seconds out of your day to read on and discover the two key principles and which diet system is based on those principles.
Okay my friend, first things first. Before I talk about what I recommend for you to do in order to drop pounds fast, I would like to give you my recommendation of what NOT to do....and that would be getting on "fad diets"! Those types of diets will cause a drop in your metabolism...which leads to "yo-yo weight loss" and STORED fat!
If you don't want to feel bloated, get excess stored fat, lose energy, and regain weight you've just lost, then the two key principles you must do are:
1. Get PROPER nutrition (This includes providing your body with ALL nutrients and no calorie restricting.)
2. Increase the metabolism.
A proven diet system that I used that is based on those two principles above is the "Calorie Shifting Diet".
Starting this diet at 300 pounds, I dropped around 25 pounds in 1 month using this diet and then ultimately ended up dropping 50 lbs. in 8 weeks...and it STAYED OFF!
The primary reason this diet works so well is that it will SKYROCKET your metabolism simply by controlling your daily eating patterns with a delicious menu plan (this menu plan is created for you with a diet generator). These meals are mixed and matched to manipulate your fat burning hormones into increasing significantly. Because you are NATURALLY boosting your metabolism with getting PROPER nutrition, once you lose the pounds....it will all stay off permanently.
So, if you want to drop 27 pounds in 3-4 weeks...and keep it off for good, then I highly recommend for you to tryout the calorie shifting diet today.

QUESTION:
Can an extreme weight loss diet cause an overweight dog to have a seizure?
Like giving a 30 pound dog that should weigh 25 pounds only 2 tablespoons of food a day for 3 days?-
ANSWER:
That isn't a weight loss diet, it's starvation. If you are concerned about your dogs weight then you should consult your vet about a healthy diet to help him lose weight. If he had a seizure then you should bring him to your vet anyway to find out why.

QUESTION:
how can i make a extreme weight loss kind diet and be able to work?
i`m a house keeper from 10am till 6pm . i stared many diets but i thing i burn i little bit to much calorie . so i need something that tricks my sistem.-
ANSWER:
I have lost 40 lbs. in 3 months and I know this will work. Eat small healthy meals every 2-3 hours, eat your last meal 2-3 hours before you go to sleep. Do not starve yourself or your body will go into survival mode where anything you eat will be turned into FAT. This will help you a lot but if you want more results you can exercise 3-4 days a week, include weight training and especially cardio (walking especially running). If you set your mind to lose the weight you will lose it and when you start seeing how good you look you'll want to keep going.
Good Luck

its probably the yogurt, it has bacteria in it which is also found in your intestines. Probably the extra bacteria is messing with your intestines.

QUESTION:
Does Metabo EXtreme Fat Burner Weight Loss Diet Pill work?-
ANSWER:
No. Did you ever wonder they "Tylenol" is not called "Super Analgesic Pain Buster Max Plus"? Well, it's because it works. Tylenol sells well without a punched up fancy name. Supplements sellers know they're selling crap to kids. They know their market is full of credulous young people who still believe there are easy ways to do difficult things. So, they name their bogus products to sound glamorous and cool but, they don't work. They don't even have to be tested in the US because supplements are not regulated like food and drugs.Save your money. All supplements for building muscle and burning fat are scams.
Good luck and good health!!

QUESTION:
Weight loss pills + extreme diet + exercise?
I have gone up and down with dieting for the past 10 years, and I am really trying to end that cycle starting this January. My plan is to start on some weight loss pill and extremely limit my food intake (I'm talking 200-500 calories/day total) and exercising a lot (2-3 hrs/day). My ultimate goal is to be 140-150 (currently around 230) by June 1st. The reason, in case you're wondering, why I am taking such extreme measures is because I have PCOS, so it is/has been very difficult for me to lose weight.Does this plan sound do-able? And do you have any tips for successful weight-loss pills?
No silly answers, please!-
ANSWER:
I have been through it all and know what's it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can't be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I've worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.
First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can't eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising...
This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it's good for the heart.
However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It's so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I've found a great addition to help any one out, it's a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don't get all crazy on me and say diet pills don't work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn't meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It's an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace.com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it's the best pill I've tried and I've tried cupboards full. Now this doesn't mean you have to follow my foot steps but I've successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.
Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.

QUESTION:
Is this a generally good diet for extreme weight loss?
Eating mostly veggies and fruits, not too much dairy, lots of salads and ham and turkey with sandwiches. Occaisinally veggie burgers. Maybe some healthy crackers and hummus for a snack. That's mainly what I'll be eating for extreme weight loss.Four questions:
1. Are all those foods good for you and do they help with weight loss?
2. Is it true that I should stay away from dairy, evem if it's fat free and low calorie yogurt?
3. How many calories should I eat and burn each day?
4. What foods should I stay away from?-
ANSWER:
Cut out the ham. Yes you should stay away from dairy. It makes us fat...like a cow. Don't eat more than 1 slice of turkey or chicken. Cold cut meats aren't that good for you.
Eat 1500 calories a day.
www.sparkpeople.com they have a calorie counter, fitness tracker, exercise videos etc...Stay away from dairy, sweets, fast food and all junk food. Stay away from pasta. Eat brown rice instead of white.
Drink 8-10 glasses of water a day.
Drink grn tea 3xs a day.

Pray daily for self-control.

ANSWER:
go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food
after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on
your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If
you don't eat wheat then you don't eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don't eat junk food, and you don't eat biscuits. But your
diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans.

QUESTION:
Fast quick weight loss? extreme diets? fasting? HELP!!!?
Hi i really need to lose some weight by next month, any ideas or tips. im 19 i already go to a gym 3-5times a week . but has any one tried fasting or an extreme diet that has worked? if so please let me know! thanks-
ANSWER:
definitly remeber to keep it healthy - no matter how desperate the weight loss is needed.
i've done fasts etc, and they are really very short term and actually must better for detoxifying than weight loss, so won't help much for this. better is just strict, smart monitoring of your excercise and food.
basically, it sounds like your excercise amount is good - so just watch your calorie intake/vs outtake. make sure your caloric intake is less than the amount you burn during the day, through excercise or just basic body functions. to do this, work out for your height/sex/age/etc what your intake should be (http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm may help with that), and either google or grab a book detailing the calories in your food, and the calories you burn in your excercise. this will also give you good ideas about what excercises would be better for weightloss (eg, running).
i've definitely found it helpful when i've needed to lose weight to write down details like this so you remember what's going in/out.
if you do that, and make sure that the food's your eating are healthy, wholegrain and don't have too much unnecessary/unhealthy fat (rely on fish, nuts, avocados etc for healthy fats), then you are guaranteed weightloss, you'll be able to understand and control. and it's a practice for life.other little tips that may help
1. drinking water, particularly warm water ie, peppermint tea keeps you feeling fuller, as well as helping your body out and keeping skin gorgeous
similarly, i find chewing on ice, or frozen juice can help when you are craving food you know you don't actually need.
2. try not to reward yourself with food - if you are doing well and being really healthy, don't give yourself chocolate or chips as a reward - take a long bath, get your nails done, go out for coffee with friends instead
3.watch alcohol intake - the calories in that are useless and surprisingly high
4. stick sticky notes up on your fridge or mirror reminding you of your goalgood luck!

ANSWER:
If you want to lose weight 10lbs in 14 days, a possible weight loss method for you to use is Calorie Shifting. Here are the basic principles of Calorie Shifting
1. You eat 4 reasonable sized meals each day based on a specific and personal menu.
2. These 4 meals contain all food groups (carbs, protein, fat).
3. You need to eat the meals at least 2.5 hours apart so they’re spaced out throughout the day.The menu spreads the 4 meals throughout the day which causes a metabolic effect which maintains the rate in which your metabolism runs. This causes your body to burn calories faster than it does with other diets.

QUESTION:
P90X and diet Weight Loss Plan? A little Extreme But need feedback?
Background: I am 17 years old,5 feet 9 inches, a male. I weigh 244 pounds. I am basically obese, but at the same time you can consider me as being much more athletic than a different person of my size (I can lift weights, at one point benching 250 pounds (from 130 to 250 in a year before I quit); run fast but not too much stamina, although when i jog/pace i can run 5 miles). My framework, I guess you can say that I'm big and have a lot of girth (width).Goal: Is to get anywhere between 150 and 170 without compromising muscle, or in other words, shape the muscle that I already may have and ASAP (before summer - 3-4 months)
Diet: My plan for at least 90 days is to follow an interesting article I found (although no scholarly or endorsed if you want to call it, article still seems promising. It says an average person following this diet alone would lose approximately 20 kgs (44 pounds)) which kind of rotates meals and the nutrition a person may take in: For example,
Day 1: Protein Day
Day 2: Starch Day
Day 3: Carbohydrate Day
Day 4: Fruit Day
Day 5: Water Day
Breakfast fruit everyday except Day 5, Lunch and supper are the same and concentrate on what they require for that particular day.
For better details,
http://www.dietforum.com/N-90Days-Diet.htmOR, I can decide to eat Smart Start Cereal with 2% milk 3-5 times a day (my friend has done the smart start breakfast and ran 6 miles a day, he lost 70 pounds in a month and a half but regained all the weight back in 2 years). My plan is to to switch to a healthy eating lifestyle even when I lose all the weight so I'm not sure if I should starve myself like him.
Exercise plan: I have a program called P90X. It's a very rigorous exercise program which lasts for 90 days and involves differentiation and changes its exercise focus everyday so one doesn't get used to it and keeps on building their body at a fast rate. I'm sure there may be skeptics but there is not a single review (that I found) in which a person tries the program and says its bad (I've tried it myself for a couple of days, and it really is intense)
This is NOT fake, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXkCBYEWm8k
P90X is a very good program and a very very rigorous program as well and I plan on using that for its 90 day program. The guy in the video seems to a on a similar note as me when he started, but I weigh approximately 20 pounds more than himAlso, I plan on running 1-2 mile(s) along with the program anywhere between 7-13 minutes per mile depending on whether I jog or run.
1 pound=3500 calories
My plan is to eat between 1200-1500 calories MAX everyday and when working out everyday, I expect to burn 4000 calories a day (includes calories burned without exercise, like digesting or sleeping). So my calorie deficit should be 2500 calories everyday, so in 90 days or 3 months time I should be around 170-175 pounds. Here are some of the websites I used:
http://www.dietforum.com/N-90Days-Diet.htmhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXkCBYEWm8k
http://www.caloriesperhour.com/index_loss.php
http://calorieneedscalculator.com/index.html
http://www.beachbody.com/product/fitness_programs/p90x.do?code=P90XDOTCOM
Feedback is greatly appreciated! This is very important for me! Thanks a lot in advance, and I hope to get some good feedback.
=)
I forgot to add along with the diet.I plan on drinking a whole lot of water. Approximately 2-3 liters a day
Also, I'm thinking about taking V8 equal to 3 servings of vegetables
And, as a natural cleanser, fresh pineapple and cilantro juice from a blenderThanks!

ANSWER:
no doubt, you've done your homework, and it will all help, but the biggest mistake people make is they try and over complicate things. I remember days in the gym, some of the craziest routines and programs people would tell me which would create the most amazing gains. Only months later, they didn't look any different. Stick to the basics, because the biggest factor in you accomplishing your goals, is formulating new habits. Creating a healthy lifestyle has to be the foundation of creating new habits. Here is what I would suggest: For 30 days, write down everything you eat. I'm sure you'd be amazed at the amount of "unconscious" calories you consume. It will help eliminate those in-between snacking and late night snacking. A goal would be to keep your calories around 2500 per day, with 60% carbs, 30% protein, 10% fat. You'll need the energy if you're doing the exercise routines you plan on. In terms of exercise, I think the P90X is a very good program, since it focuses on the biggest factor of achieving fitness goals; muscle confusion. I'm almost 40, I've done every program you can think of, and muscle confusion works on all levels. It is intense, do what you can. Within a couple weeks, you'll be suprised how much you've progressed. I'm afraid if you're mixing P90X and running, you might get over trained, which puts the body in a state of conservation. If you're eating the proper foods, and doing your P90X, I would guarantee you will achieve the results you're looking for. Even if you do a modified version of the program, just by changing your program up, your body will react. Functional training is what allows the body to use multiple muscle groups in a given exercise, and allows the body to work on multiple planes.
Yes, drink plenty of water, write down what you eat, do your P90X, and in 90 days, you will see results, promise. Good luck, and remember, don't over complicate things.

QUESTION:
Extreme weight loss????
I plan on losing 50-60 lbs. I need an extreme diet plan, healthy or not. Pro Ana is optional. Ideas?-
ANSWER:
When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.
If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which
will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow
underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without
exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For
diet, go wheat free.
For exercising,
start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the
most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a
lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,
disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target
your problem areas for men and women. It's not necessarily to become a
bodybuilder or even join a gym - a couple of dumbbells will help you
to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).

QUESTION:
Would this be considered a "yo-yo diet" or not because the weight loss/gain is not extreme enough?
I'm female, 6'1" tall, 21 years old. My healthy weight (according to BMI) is 140-189. I'm currently at 155, and I like my weight were it is. I've been close to 140 and thought I looked too thin (others did as well). Ive been close to 170 and thought I looked large.I'm vegan. I eat healthy, and exercise 5x per week just to stay healthy and fit. But im not perfect. I'll occasionally eat "bad" food. I weigh myself 2 x per week. If I gain 4-5lbs, I'll go on a mini weight loss attempt to lose those 4-5lbs.
Is this "lose weight when I've gained 4-5lbs" considered a "yo-yo diet" which are famous for being unhealthy? Or is a 4-5lb gain/lose not extreme enough to be considered a yo-yo diet? I'm asking because I want to be as healthy as I can, and it's IMPOSSIBLE to ensure day after day I stay EXACTLY at 155lbs. I mean, even menstration may lead to a 3lb fluctuation (hence I will only attempt weight loss at 4-5 lbs because I don't vary that much around ovulation or menstration).
Is what I do considered a "yo-yo diet"? Or do people HONESTLY aim to stay EXACTLY at a certain pound weight (e.g. 155 lbs EXACTLY day after day ( I think this would be maddening to attempt!))? I don't CONSIDER it a "yo-yo diet" myself, because I have TRIED in the past to stay EXACTLY at 155lbs by weighing myself every day----but I drove myself crazy with fat/calorie/sugar/cholesterol counting EVERYTHING, never allowing myself ANY sort of treat, and perhaps exercising too much. I think in order for it to be considered a yo-yo diet, you need to be repeatedly gaining-losing atleast 10lbs, NOT repeatedly (by repeatedly, I don't mean, in a short time) gaining/losing 5lbs.
I may have to "diet" myself back 5lbs like once every 1.5 months or so. I don't think that's too bad. I mean, you have to live too. I can't deny myself every treat, and I can't beat myself up when I can't exercise one day because I'm just too frigging sore. That's why I use the "5 lb rule" for me. It works and allows me to live. Do you think this is an unhealthy "yo yo diet"?

QUESTION:
i need dieting tips for extreme weight loss..please help!!?
can someone give me a list of rules.. like dont drink soda or so on..-
ANSWER:
You will lose weight if you eat less calories than you consume, regardless of what you eat.
Fruits actually contain tons of sugar and cows aren't that skinny but grass is all they eat..
Eat fish, chicken, vegetables, and eat very little of it. Drink only water.
Don't kill yourself working out, when too tired just stop. Just do it regularly until you get FIT and when you are FIT you can start pushing a bit more.
Also for a normal (non drastic) diet that works you might want to see:

QUESTION:
Any suggestions for nutrition & weight loss? balanced diet versus a raw food diet?
I decided that it's time for me to get more healthier and get rid of the unwanted fat. I currently weigh 250 and need to lose 70 lbs. A website of an herbalist suggested a raw food diet for optimal health. I like steamed veggies and salads and some fruits, however, I can not eat raw food all the time because I would be hungry and miserable. I've tried the opposite extreme of low carb and lost 70lbs and gained it all back and I do not wish to do extreme diets every again. Couldn't I simply do a balance diet, watch my calories and do exercise to lose weight?-
ANSWER:
Of course you can. The best thing you can do is adapt your diet to those things which you enjoy. If you enjoy eating meat, then continue to do so, only in moderation. As with any diet it's sucess will be on your ability to sustain this for the long term. Any diet which changes your eating drastically will end up causing more harm than good as you will go off the diet and very likely gain your weight + 5-10% more. Eat right. Exercise....it's the only way to long term sucess.
However, that being said. There's nothing 'wrong' with eating raw food and yes this does provide your body with the best over all nutrients. So eat the raw food but also enjoy it with a 8oz of your favorite protein.

QUESTION:
Weight Loss Tips? WITHOUT Extreme Dieting OR Pills?!?
I want to shed a few pounds, like, 10 to 20. Any tips? I need to do this NOW! I have like, about 2 weeks at the most.-
ANSWER:
Running and stretching is crucial to some great weight loss. 20 minutes running in the morning is a good starter to your day and is fast and easy. Eat foods that have a lot of water in them (fruits, veggies, broth-based soups, etc.) and drink a lot of water (stay away from liquids with calories). Stretching before bed and when you wake up helps too.

QUESTION:
What is the most extreme fat losing diet? and most extreme calorie shift ?
I do not want to shop for exotic recipes or have soemthing overly high maintenance to swallow every day, it does not have to taste good or make me happy..............but what is the most extreme fat loss diet plan that exists!? (not water weight ones that make y ou poop to death) and not overly mothered ones that friek out if you dont eat a fruit and vegie every hour.....but something that is focused on major fat loss.-
ANSWER:
Okay... well, if you don't care if it doesn't taste good and it doesn't have to make you happy, its simple - seriously cut back. I lost 8lbs in one week by eating around 300 calories of fruit and salads a day and burning that off on an excercise bike and doing loads of extra excercise like situps and skipping. And it was fat loss and i didn't have any side affects except dizziness.
Its not healthy...but you asked for extreme!
hope it kind of helps

QUESTION:
Can you please give me your opinion on my weight loss plan/diet?
This may be a little detailed for some but can you please bear with me as i really would like some honest opinions.I slowly put on weight during my final years of school because i stopped sports to study and my eating habits did slip to being unhealthy.
My weight has been the same for about a year.
I'm female, 18 and 167cm.
I have been working full time for 7 months (earning money for uni). I work an average of 50 hrs a wk. my weight has remained constant over that time even though i have been off and on trying to eat healthy and exercise more. it has actually dropped 3 kgs since i left school. BUT i have noticed that i've lost muscle tone and put on fat on my stomach. this is because i find it hard to put exercise into my day given that 2-3 dys a wk i leave home at 7.15 am and get back at 9.15pm... with an hrs break between jobs in between. i am also prone to eating badly sometimes.
So anyway... too now.
I started the meal replacement diet optifast 5 days ago. I was 78kgs and now i am 73kgs. My diet consists of:
1/2 cup (uncooked) of porridge, made with water.
3x cups green tea
2x optifast shakes
2x cups raw vegetables
about 1.5L water from the tapwhich is exactly what the optifast diet recommends minus 2 tsps oil (because i don't cook the vegetables)
i feel okay but i am concerned at the rate of weight loss 1kg each day seems extreme to me. it makes me happy but i wonder if i am damaging my body?
i know that people regain the weight after going on these crash diets but i am confident that i will not because i know how to eat well and i have made a decision to ditch the foods which i know were making me fat and also my working hrs are being reduced so i will have more time to exercise (i love bike riding and lifting weights).
the quick results and convenience of this diet have made me more determined, positive and happy with myself. because i have been able to stick to the diet so far i feel more confident in my willpower. i feel like my attitude to eating has changed for the better. my friend even said that i sounded completely different and determined about my weight than ever before. i believe and have planned on eating right after i go off the shakes and having already lost weight i know that i don't need to eat bad food (where as before i would just say 'what the heck' and just eat it even though i know its not healthy).
BUT after reading reviews on the internet i am concerned that its dangerous to do this diet. what is your opinion? I would appreciate it if you read the entire thing before giving a serious answer. thank you very much in advance to any serious answerers.
-
ANSWER:
I do feel that your diet is much too low on calories and that is not particularly healthy for you. Your body will go into starvation mode and get used to managing on a very small amount of calories to try to preserve your internal organs from too much damage and when you start eating agin you will regain weight even if you are eating a healthier reduced calorie diet.
with these dieting shakes the optimum is to have 2 shakes a day plus a health main meal so that your calorie intake is around 1000 a day - yoors is more like 500 which is way too low.
If you are now mor motivated and able to control, your eating I would advise you to start slowly increasing you daily claories until you get to the 800-1000 mark, then when you reach your goal weight you can start slowly increase the calories again.
Very low calorie diets mean you body has to feed off its muscle as well as fat to get enough energy to sustain life and this includes muscles from your heart - over a period of time you can seriously undermine your long term health.
I would like to be a bit more positive and congratulate you on sorting out your weight and giving up junk food, well done for that, but dont substitute one bad eating plan with another - learn to live healthily and well and actively for long term enjoyable health.

QUESTION:
Tips for extreme weight loss?
I made an alternate account simply to post this question, due to fear somebody that knows me before I moved and gained weight might see it, I am a little embarressed
.I weigh 285 pounds (no joke, please no rude comments). I gained weight after I moved away from home. I stupidly kept eating the same way I did when I was at a much higher activity level and it spun out of control.
Anyway, my husband has gone off to school for the Navy, and I want to start losing weight finally, for my health first and foremost. Any sort of little tips and tricks would be great. I had already lost 5 pounds from simple diet changes.
Also, I am quitting smoking and finding that I can walk more as I smoke less, so I'ma keep workin on that of course.
Last thing, I must ask that people who go "CARBZ R BAD" please don't bother. With my weight loss, if I cut out carbs that much, I would end up with a lot more loose skin than I would already. Low carb diets have been linked to loose skin after weight loss.
Also please note I refuse to go the surgery route until I have really tried to lose it on my own.
My parents recently gave me a dog, so walking (with him) is a great idea, I just had no idea how much to push myself
-
ANSWER:
I will go through the steps you need to take starting with the most simple.1. Drink only water & a lot of it. Do not drink any sugar beverages such as juice or soda. Drinking enough water where you are never thirsty and your body will never have the chance to mistake thirst for hunger.
2. Start exercising, like you said walking is a start. Weight training will keep your metabolism high enough you will burn calories at an accelerating weight, you need not have a worry about getting "bulky" Concentrate on full body, large muscle group exercises. You may not be able to do much at first, but you will get better.
3. Only eat lean, low fat foods and Low glycemic carbohydrates. Everybody has a different "best diet" for them. Low glycemic carbs will give you sustainable long lasting energy and most importantly fiber. You must eat enough fiber and that means LOW GLYCEMIC fruits and vegetables. A diet a friend of mine lost 40 pounds on is the Select Carbohydrate Diet http://scdiet.org it is very difficult to follow but my friend who has Chron's disease credits it with literally saving his life.
4. Don't give up, and don't think too much. Work hard and have self disclipline and you will be rewarded with a new body.

QUESTION:
Any suggestions on a diet plan or good recipe websites that can help with weight gain and weight loss?
My husband is trying to loose weight. He has a bad back and the weight that he carries in his stomach is causing back problems. He is not big into exercise so I need to find foods that I can fix to help him loose the extra pounds. I feel that if he looses some weight he will have more energy to excericse. The problem is that I need to put on weight. We are extreme opposites. I want to put on good weight though. Not the weight that can be put on by Big Mac's.....although that sounds like a good way to put on weight, but that is not a diet that will benefit my husband or myself as well.-
ANSWER:
Hi,Does your husband desire to loose weight?? If not, your work will be in vane, but if he wants to do this as well, I know of a good idea.
Eat a healthy balanced diet, but cut down on portion size. Eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but don't eat untill full (stuffed), that only stretches your stomach and causes it to become bigger...everytime a person eats untill stuffed the stomach gets bigger and bigger everytime, because each time you are stuffing the already growing stomach for the feeling of fullness (stuffed).
He should eat a portion that will cause him to be satisfied, not full. If he gets hungry in between, he should have a peice of fruit or something else heathy to curb the hunger pangs, but just enough to curb them.
If you can get him to just walk around the block either in the mornings after breakfast,, or after dinner, as kinda like a family thing, it will help alot as well. Just as little as walking will do wonders. If he likes to go look at the cars at the car dealerships, you can take him and walk around there, to where his mind is on what he likes.
Oh, and try not to go out to eat...the servings at restaraunts are outragous now a days...it is food for like 2 or 3 people depending on where you go.
For you, how old are you? If you are a teen or a young adult, you may just have a fast motabilism. If you have no children yet, that too might be why you are slim. If that is the case, be happy with your skinnyness while you can, because as you get older or after you have kids you will not have the matabolism you once did, and my wish you could go back. That is what happend to me. LOL. If you are eating a well balanced diet and can't gain weight and you think there is a medical problem, please go see your doc, but if you are healthy and slim, that might just be how God created you to be:) Just remember don't change your body to please anyone else, that is the main reason people are trying to loose weight or gain weight, because they feel it is more excepted. The only reason a person should be trying to loose weight or gain weight is if it is due to health. It also can help with self esteem if a person is overweight and with quality of life, but otherwise be happy with who you are. God made everyone beautiful in their own way...different is beautiful. God bless.

QUESTION:
Is this a decent diet?
I'm not looking for an extreme weight loss diet, just a healthy one. We can't really afford food so my plan is to go with the school breakfast and lunch everyday, and make dinner when I get home.
For breakfast I can either have cereal and a yogurt, or the regular breakfast which is either an omlet, eggs, a home-made breakfast burrito, or french toast sticks(all regular breakfast comes with tater tots and sometimes turkey links) and for a drink I get white milk and a juice. For lunch I can eat whatever they have for hot lunch(it changes alot), or, what I prefer, a salad with turkey, ham, black olives, and carrots(possibly eggs if I should get them) and for a drink I just get water. and for dinner I just make whatever is the healthiest I can make, with water. What do you guys think? Also, considering there's a choice of what I can eat for breakfast and lunch, which ones should I get?-

QUESTION:
A question about Extreme Weight Loss?
I am a 20 year old Female who used to be obese my whole life. In high school I weighed 275 lbs, but just this year I have lost 100 lbs since January 1st. I did this all on a 1200-1500 calorie diet, with regular exercise.
I am 5 foot 7 and my goal weight has always been 125 lbs, but the more weight I lose the more I notice that I have extra skin (which I know is common with this much weight loss). Of course, I'm planning on getting it removed through surgery, and I know that I'll weigh even less after the skin is gone. 125 pounds is already pretty low for my height, and I don't want to reach the underweight range. I wont be able to afford surgery before my diet's end, so my question is:
What weight should I stop at?-
ANSWER:
You should stop before you hit 19 BMI which is considered Normal. Try to stay at 20 BMI (before surgery date and drink plenty of fluids). BMI is body mass index. You can look yours up and keep track of it here: http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/

Extreme weight loss (on a deadline).?
I am 6 feet tall, weigh 180 lbs. and have an average to mildly athletic build. I need to get down to about 140 to portray a poor, bohemian-like character in an upcoming film by a rather well-known director. Filming will start in December.
I was considering the diet Christian Bale used for The Machinist, but I feel like it's a bit extreme. Is there anything else I can do short of hiring a nutritionist? I know it is unhealthy to lose so much weight so quickly, but I am committed to it, as it is my first important role in a film by a major studio.-

QUESTION:
What could be causing my extreme weight loss?
In the last 18 months I've lost 30% of my body mass (65lbs) for no reason. I've become less active and haven't changed my eating habits. I'm becoming so weak that I can't do many aspects of my job in retail. Because of the weight loss I'm hypoglycemic and had to up the protein in my diet significantly. Even that didn't help. The endocrinologist found no problems in blood work. Help!
I have told many many many doctors about it only to get "congratulations!" instead of concern. Am I crazy? Is it ok to lose 65lbs in 18 months for no reason at all? I don't have IBS, or any other symptomatic bowel problems, I have no endocrine issues, I had a negative AIDS test about 9 months ago, and other than depression, have no other problems. I honestly don't think depression alone without a change in eating/exercising habits can cause a 30% drop in body mass.-
ANSWER:
Endocrinologists focus on hormone problems and the endocrine system, but your symptoms could indicate several things that have nothing to do with hormones or with problems in this system. A regular general practitioner doctor should be able to advise you better.
=====================================
I had a heart operation and was told I must lose weight or die. So I lost 50 lbs in six months, by dieting and exercise. My regular cardiologist was sick when I went for a checkup, and I saw a trainee who got worried that the rapid weight loss might mean I had cancer. He told me to get an echosound. That showed a lump so I had to get a CT scan. The lump was a benign cyst and I had no cancer. All this worry made me put on 40 lbs, so I went back on the diet and exercise and lost it again in two months. I wonder what the cardiologist will say when I see him next week!

QUESTION:
What kind of anitdepressants and mood stabilizers DON'T cause weight gain, or cause weight loss?
I have been taking antidepressants and mood stabilizers, but they have caused extreme weight gain, even with exercise and diet, I am still struggling. Are there any antidepressants / mood stabilizers that DO NOT cause weight gain, even better can assist with weight loss? I would love to discuss another option with my Dr.-
ANSWER:
The problem is that we don't even know if many of these anti-depressants actually CAUSE weight gain or if other side affects (increase in appetite, fatigue, lethargy) lead to weight gain.SSRIs and SNRIs are the family of anti-depressants most commonly associated with weight gain. This perhaps due in part to the fact that common side affects from these drugs include an increase (sometimes decrease) in appetite, feeling tired, excessive sleep or a lack of energy. It is also thought that these drugs may trigger latent genes that control weight gain. Most people experience weight gain with age. Some research has shown that these and other antidepressants may cause early weight gain.
Tricyclides (TCAs), although also shown to cause weight gain, when taken with a diet rich in carbohydrates, can actually cause weight loss. However TCAs are rarely used to treat mild depression and usually used for more severe cases.
You might also skip anti-depressants altogether. Most people I know who take these drugs long enough eventually become dependent upon them (even though they claim to be non-addicting). The dependence is psychological and once you stop taking them, you'll eventually fall back into depression. Some people who suddenly stop taking these drugs can experience major depressive episodes that basically can lead to a psychotic break down. Other people experience any number of physical with drawl symptoms. It does, however, depend on the drugs they are taking.
Personally before you jump into anti-depressants, if you can help it, try other options. There are herbal over the counter pills, like saint john's wart for example. These often used with sensible diet and exercise are enough to treat mild cases of depression. Some also seek therapy as well.
If you are considering taking anti-depressants, take the lowest dose possible to start with. Even then there will still be side affects but they should not be as pornounced and they should only last for up to several weeks.
Everybody experiences different side affects. One anti-depressant may cause weight gain in one person and weight loss in another. As far as common brand name pills go, wellbutrin seems to be the one least associated with weight gain. Normally this is taken with another antidepressant as a booster. But many experience relief from the depression symptoms on wellbutrin alone.
Now hopefully you can have a long talk with your doctor about your options.

I work out regularly but maybe not enough? 3-4 times a week....30 min sessions at Curves. Losing this weight is soooo crucial to me. Pls help. Dont make fun of me, I didnt gain the weight because of laziness. It was a medical issue, either way Im at the end of my rope. I hate myself and cant stand to be like this any longer. It effects everything about me, and could cause me to lose the very person who wills me to live. I dont need suicide numbers or counseling. I just need to lose the weight and make both of us happy. Serious answers only please-
ANSWER:
Hold on girl. Your ok. Fat is ok, but you need to be healthy too. Every night eat a turkey sandwich for dinner. Do this for one week. Just one. Every night. use like the whole wheat bread you know the big ones that are wider than regular bread.? You can have one piece of cheese on it, and just a strip of mayo. you can if you like add every green thing you can find, vegetable wise. But that's all. I lost 5 pounds last week from doing this. My doctor told me to do it. I am in the middle of severe weight loss my self. I have lost 11 pounds in 3 weeks. That does not sound like much, but if you lose 11 pounds in 3 weeks 10 times, 30 weeks, that is 110 pounds. Go to the grocery store and add up how much weight you loose and stack up that many one pound "chubs" of hamburger. you will see it's a lot. Try it and let me know, ok?

I know its disgusting!!!!!!! i am planning on starving myself. i want my husband to love me for my skinny body, and my parents to stop treating me like SHIT!!!! i can't afford diet plans, programs ect,,,,, and am wondering how fast i will lose weight as long as i never eat another item of food again. i have talked to couselors and they don't help. i am fed up with being judged for my looks. my family (parents and sister) think that i will be dead when im 30 which is in six years. i have been married since september 07, and the whole wedding day was a shammble. my father tried telling me i could lv my hubby at the alter, and then he had to find out what size my wedding dress was. so he went and asked my older sister, whoe telss him everthing...... i have pcos and haven't been able to get preggo, and my family is supportive of not getting pregnant. they hate me and my hubby, as wellas my twin sister.
any ideas for starvation? i have low blood sugar, but don't care what happens to me. i want to lose 50 pounds fast and will do anything to get there......
Sincerely

ANSWER:
Let me explain to you what you would be doing to your body.
You drastically reduce the amount of calories you are taking in, but still continue your daily tasks. Your body starts off losing weight, simply because it is getting less calories than it is expending.
Now, after about a week or at most two, you body realizes that it is not going to be getting enough food anytime soon, so it damn near shuts your metabolism down until you are barely burning any calories. At this point, your energy level plummets, your weight loss plateaus and you start getting moody.
When you do eat, however little it is, your body is going to latch onto the calories, turning it into fat reserves as quickly as it can, and your body WILL NOT burn off those calories, because it never knows when it will get food again. This is called starvation mode, and it is simply your body trying to SURVIVE.
More than likely, you will only end up gaining weight.
Welcome to anorexia, a miserable and sad life that you really should stop trying to become a part of. If you are intent on losing weight, then do it right. Eat 4-6 small, healthy meals a day, snack on fruits and veggies, and get up and exercise.
But it's your life. Try to learn to starve yourself if that's what you want.
