Since you are a women you can substitute soy protein foods for some of the meat. meat substitute foods made with soy or TVP are fine. You just want to avoid the carbs so look at the labels. Tofu, since it is fermented soy, is OK for men and women.
Read the book and other info you will find that whole milk concentrates like full fat cottage cheese is good, low carbs, high protein and useful fat.
All fowl is good and fish is great. If you are of child bearing age go towards smaller cold water fish like sardines and anchovies or wild salmon and herrings (they have less to no mercury).

There's only ONE WAY to lose fat - and that is to create a calorie deficit. However, there are two ways to create a calorie deficit - one is to decrease your food intake so you are eating less than you burn, the other is to increase your exercise and activity so you are burning more than you eat.Of the two ways to create a calorie deficit, burning the fat is far superior to starving it. You see, cutting calories too much causes weight loss at first, but it also causes muscle loss and it eventually leads to a decrease in metabolism, so the weight loss stops. This is very common on conventional diets, right? You lose weight in the beginning, but then you hit a plateau that you just can't break through. Cutting calories even more at this point only digs you even into a deeper "metabolic hole."
Eating more of the right foods (up to a certain point) actually increases your metabolic "heat" like putting wood on a fire. Food is energy; food is fuel, and it produces (metabolic) heat.
Exercise burns calories and creates a calorie deficit, but the real advantage of exercise over diet is that exercise increases your metabolism, dieting slows it down. Exercise also has major health benefits, while starvation can only create health problems.
So if you eat more (healthy foods) and exercise more, you get a double increase in metabolism. If you eat less and exercise less you get a double decrease in metabolism. That makes complete sense doesn't it?

Protein, such as chicken, beef, and cheese doesn't do that, and so you don't store as much fat with those types of food. Of course, you gotta be careful though. Eat lean protein for lunch and dinner, and try to have snacks that are protein rich but low in carbs and fat. There is an "Abs Diet for Woman" but...I stuck to the original Abs Diet by David Z. I found this more effective than any other "diet" and "weight loss program" due to the ease and simplicity of it.The only thing I would advise is to prepare all the foods, smoothies, snacks, etc. in advance. Or you might get to lazy and eat other stuff. Also another book he wrote, "The Eat Right Every time Book” has healthy alternatives for restaurants, fast food places, etc.
Run outdoors if you can, it's more beneficial than the mill.
Measuring the foods shouldn't be a problem since you'll get a sense of what's too much and your body will tell you. All the foods are packed with vitamins, protein, fiber, and all that good stuff. Especially since you’re drinking the smoothies!
Just follow the outline on eating and exercising and you'll see results. The schedules fit my busy lifestyle, I was a full time student and full time employee among other organizations when I started.
Before you start exercising you might want to "eat right" according to his plan so that you can get used to the foods and it's preparation.
I was able to shed off 12 lbs in the 6 weeks. Ever since last year I've stuck to this lifestlye! (You might lose more due to your height and weight. I started at 120 at 4'11" now I am at 101). However, my Mom and b/f immediately took notice after I was on it for less than month. Now I am more energized and loving myself more and more. I am hooked on those darn smoothies as well!

In the morning is a good time to have fruit, you could also have yogurt (i'd stick will low fat for a diet) A salad or smoothie for lunch, fish or chicken for dinner. Really it's not too hard, anything packaged you can just look at the label and probably be able to tell if it's good or not. Just make sure you don't over-eat fruit (it has a lot of sugar, even though its natural!) And the best tip you can get on a diet is to eat every two hours, even if it's something small. That way, you're kept full all day. Those 100 calorie packs are great for snacks, just check and make sure they don't have a ton of fat or sugar. Oh and drink the 8 glasses of water a day

The only people that I know who drink it are skinny...Personally, I prefer the taste of diet coke, so that may be one reason.But then, if you think, a normal coke has calories of around 200 (depending on how much you drink), say the meal is about 800, not having those extra 200 will help a bit.
They may drink it because they're trying to diet, even if they're not totally committed.

No. It's based on twelve foods you should eat. They include things like oatmeal, whey protein, blueberrys, almonds and other nuts. There are a series of weight lifting exercises and you alternate these with cardio (I do walking). The diet is great if you can afford the foods. You get to eat six small meals per day. I like it because you don't pay hundreds of dollars for it. Your initial investment is the book, you buy the food anyway, and you have the option of purchasing the weights and ball.You can use a chair and milk jugs instead if you have to.

I have been through it all and know what's it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can't be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I've worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.
First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can't eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising...
This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it's good for the heart.
However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It's so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I've found a great addition to help any one out, it's a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don't get all crazy on me and say diet pills don't work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn't meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It's an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace.com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it's the best pill I've tried and I've tried cupboards full. Now this doesn't mean you have to follow my foot steps but I've successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.

I've done p90x and followed the diet plan. It's great for toning up, improving cardiovascular health, increasing flexibility, and improving overall fitness.But the p90x diet plan is meant to get people "ripped" or "super fit" etc. It is not meant to cause weight loss.
You can, however, combine p90x with a low calorie diet (high carb, low carb, vegetarian, whatever you want) to produce weight loss.
So to answer your question: You will not achieve significant weight loss if you follow the p90x diet plan.
And I just have to say this:
Unless you are a world class athlete, a professional boxer, or Lance Armstrong-- it is impossible to lose a significant amount of weight on exercise alone. It MUST MUST MUST MUST MUST MUST MUST be combined with REDUCED CALORIC INTAKE.

You have to exercise to burn excess calories, cycling, walking, running, rowing are all good calorie burners, but the key is length of time constant rather than a short burst,
the same amount of calories are burned walking a mile as running one, because the exercise goes on for longer, although at lower intensity, so a half hour walk is better than a five minute run!
Cycling is excellent as little pressure is put upon the joints, particulary knees and ankles which can be prone to injury in running.
