  3. QUESTION:
What is the best weight loss plan for me?
I am 5' 10" and I weigh 295. I seriously need and want to lose weight. I want to make it down to around 200-210. How can I lose it fairly fast and safely? What diet plan is better, low card or low fat?

    • ANSWER:
Good on you for coming to this decision. I hope I can help you with your situation. There are a couple of things you need to realize you before you embark on your weight loss journey.

Firstly don't think of it as a diet. In order to lose weight and keep it off you need to make a healthy lifestyle change and stick to it. There are no two ways about it.

Secondly healthy weight loss is gradual weight loss. We all want to lose weight fast but when this occurs it usually means loss of water and/or muscle. This is not good. Our body needs water and we gain it back fairly rapidly (which in turn means weight gain).

More importantly we need muscle in order to burn fat.Muscle is a very active tissue, so burns fat even while resting. You need to have a certain amount of muscle in order to burn fat efficiently. Every pound of muscle you have will burn 50 extra calories per day.

Two pounds (or 1 kilogram) of weight loss is generally considered to be healthy weight loss. There is no point in losing weight if you are not going to do it right. Otherwise you will just gain it back and then some.

There is no magic secret to weight loss. It is all about hard work, commitment, goal setting and desire. If you want to lose weight you can and you will.

This following website gives you the tools you need to develop a healthy lifestyle and maintain it for a lifetime.

Good luck and all the best with your weight loss goals

  4. QUESTION:
What is the best weight loss plan that you have ever been on? I?
I have about 25 lbs to lose and having hard time. I am a 41 woman and the diet and exercise route is not working as well as it once did. In particular, I have a 'spare tire' that is hard to get rid of! I am committed to healthy weight loss and don't need to lose it overnight but would love to see some movement

    • ANSWER:
I have been through it all and know what's it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can't be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I've worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.

Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.

First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can't eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising...

This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it's good for the heart.

However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It's so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I've found a great addition to help any one out, it's a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don't get all crazy on me and say diet pills don't work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn't meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It's an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace.com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it's the best pill I've tried and I've tried cupboards full. Now this doesn't mean you have to follow my foot steps but I've successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.

Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.

  5. QUESTION:
What is the best weight loss plan you have found that really worked for you?
Me and my hubby are trying to concieve, but I've been told that this probably wont happen unless I lose at least 50 pounds. (told by a doctor not my hubby) My weight is causing an insulin problem which does not allow ovulation. I have started by getting rid of all caffine drinks, and cutting out the sweets. I'm filling my body with plenty of water and walking 20 minutes a day. I know its just a start and will take some time, but does anyone know any good, healthy ways to diet and exercise without hurting your body?

    • ANSWER:
Weight watchers is a great program for weight loss. It really works if you stick with it. And starting out walking 20 minutes a day is awesome, but you'll have to ramp it up to lose the weight. Find a Jazzercise class in your area. Me and my friends swear by it. Go and have fun and don't give up, it gets easier the more you do it. There is a woman in my class that has lost 80 pounds with the WW/Jazzercise combo. And I'm working on it, I feel better than I have in my whole life! Good luck!

  6. QUESTION:
What is the best weight loss plan to loose the baby weight?
I just had my son 11 weeks ago and I'm looking to get back into shape as i was before. I don't want to diet i just want to start eating healthier and exercise while taking care of my son. Keep in mind, I am with my son the majority of the time so i need the exercises to accommodate both of us. I'm more interested in toning up then loosing weight.

    • ANSWER:

  7. QUESTION:
Best weight loss plan for a 15 year old girl?
I am a 15 year old, height is 5 feet 1 inch, and weight is around 135 pounds. Using a calorie calculator I found out how many calories I would eat everyday to maintain my weight, and it said about 1869 calories. I am aiming to lose 20 pounds, and the calorie calculator suggested decreasing my calorie intake by about 500 calories, but I still need some tips. Could anyone suggest a healthy calorie intake, and along with that, a plan for the day specifying how many calories to take when?

    • ANSWER:
I think 20 lbs is too much and at your age, you are still growing, so that's not a good idea. However, there is NOTHING wrong with getting in shape and being fit and healthy! But muscle weighs more than fat so you could be 135 lbs and chubby and you could be 140 lbs and a tiny, lean, figure skater. Muscle weighs more. So rather than focusing on your weight, get out measuring tape and measure your waist! A realistic goal is 24 inches, which is basically a size 8 in England, and size 4 in the U.S, and is such a size that looks really fit and means you have a slim waist without being like, emaciated.

Don't use a calorie calculator, they won't tell you anything. First off you burn like 1400 calories a day just by living, and that's even if you didn't get out of bed all day. So an average day you burn like 1800 and then thirty mins exercise and it is reaching 2000 calories. So just eat healthily and in good proportions (you should eat the same about of veggies as you do carbohydrates, and then a little bit of protein), when you are full, STOP EATING. Drink water, and NOTHING ELSE. No fizzy drinks, they are terrible, and water flushes out your toxins! Apart from that, eat in moderation, so Macdonalds no more than once a month, and only a little bit of chocolate a few times a week.

      Exercises to do:

all of them are amazing. especially the first one. phew, you will feel the burn!
Last tip: go on runs. Grab a friend, throw on your sneakers and some terry cloth shorts and hit the road. Its amazing.

  8. QUESTION:
What is the best weight loss plan?
I'm 5'9 and about 160 pounds, it has finally dawned on me that I really need to start losing weight. What's a good daily plan I can stick to?

    • ANSWER:
The most commonly known weight loss programs available in America include Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, eDiets and Nutrisystem. However they are not always the same. Some programs such as Weight Watchers may ask you to visit their centers for regular meetings, while others such as Nutrisystem encourage you to work on losing weight at the comfort of your home. Some may promise a fast weight loss while other focus on setting a realistic weight loss goal.

Some important questions you must ask before choosing a weight loss program:

      * How much weight do you wish to lose? Setting a realistic goal is very important to keep you motivated!!! To lose 1 lb to 2 lb a week is more realistic than trying to lose 40 lb in a month!!!
      * How much support will you receive from the program? any online weight loss classes? online personal weight loss counseling? support groups? chat rooms? etc
      * What is the Total cost for the program? Will you have to pay extra on top of what you have paid? Does the total cost include foods?
      * Will they consider your lifestyle before making a diet plan for you? Or do they simply restrict your normal eating habit so that it's tough to follow through? Is the program able to personalize your likes and dislikes?
      * What kind of maintenance program is provided and at what cost? Find out what the maintenance program consists of, how long it lasts, and what you must do. Remember that the longer the program focuses on helping you change your eating and exercise patterns, the greater the chances of long-term success.
      * What is the refund policy? If you are not happy, you should have every right to quit the program and receive your money back.

  9. QUESTION:
what is the best weight loss plan after having a baby?
    hey mommies!!!

i'm about to have my little one in about 3-5 weeks, and i want to start losing weight soon after. i'll be breast feeding so i know that works well. but have any of you gone on some kind of program or did something to lose weight?

    thanks!

    • ANSWER:
Like others I've heard that breast feeding will give you the jump you need with weight loss. The trouble with that is that you have to be careful what you eat so that you don't give the baby gas!

I'd say eat sensibly and exercise. Getting up at at all hours with the baby will wear you out. Sleep while the baby sleeps, while the baby is awake put some exercise in your routine. Also I've read (and done it myself) that if you drink 24 oz of milk in a 24 hour period that it boosts your metabolism. This has worked for me, give it a try. Work out! Work out! Work out!

Good luck on the delivery and good luck with the weight loss!

  14. QUESTION:
What is the best weight loss plan without having to pay for it?

    • ANSWER:
Dieting is not the same for everyone. Some people can eat junk food and not get fat, while others have to work real hard to keep weight off even if they diet and exercise. Some factors that determine weight gain are: age, metabolism, genetics, lifestyle, diet, etc. Anyone can lose weight. If you eat nothing, it is impossible to gain weight and you will lose weight for sure. However, not eating at all is starvation, which is not healthy.

      Here are some tips:

1- Reduce your eating until you are losing between 1 and 2 pounds per week. Losing weight faster usually means starvation, which is NOT healthy.

2- Because you are consuming less food, you will need to ensure that your diet is healthy so you can get your supply of essential nutrients. This is important to maintain your overall health and muscle mass.

3- Exercise! This will build muscle which will eat up even more fat. Start out slow, then work your way up to 45 minutes of cardio and 45 minutes of strength training about 4 times a week of moderate intensity.

4- Eat good whole foods. Examples are: Chicken breast, fish, egg whites, veggies, whole wheat and whole grain products. Eat fruits in moderation because they are still sugar.

5- Keep these foods to a minimum: Deep fried foods, saturated fats, sodas, processed carbs (white bread, trans fats, white flour products, sugar, etc). Remember that fats contain more calories than protein or carbs.

6- Keep these foods moderately low: Food high on the glycemic index, most starches and certain fruits like watermelon.

7- Stay away from fad products. They are not as good as whole foods, and should only be used when there is no other choice. Mulit-vitamins, iron and calcium supplements are ok if your diet is lacking in those areas due to calorie reduction or specific dieting.

8- Consistency is very important, so unless you are really disciplined, create an exercise routine that you enjoy. If you don’t have money for a gym, find other things to do like power walking, hiking, biking, or other things that keep you active.

If you are still gaining weight after doing these two things, you are likely still eating too much, except in rear circumstance like a medical condition. Remember, you cannot gain weight if you are burning up ALL of the food you are eating. Your body may be more efficient than others, which means less food, and possibly more exercise will be required. Good luck!

  15. QUESTION:
What is the best weight loss plan that loses pounds quickly?
i think i need to tone up and get muscle how do i do this?

    • ANSWER:
I found a great way to lose weight fast and keep it off. I do body cleansing. I lost 13 pounds in 9 days and then 28 pounds in less than a month. Cleansing will help the body get rid of impurities. Impurites come from a lot of things like fast food, pollution, food additives and preservatives etc. The impurities get stored in the fat in our body. To shrink the fat, we have to get rid of the impurities by cleansing. This made sense to me and I decided to try a cleanse program and it worked. The weight came off fast and this kept me motivated to keep going, not like other diets where the weight loss it too slow. 17. QUESTION:
What is the best weight loss plan? I'm thinking b-12 shots or HCG drops----any suggestions?
I am what America considers to be obese right now. I am 5' 8" and i weigh 195 lbs. I am 45 lbs overweight and I am so sick of being fat. I gained the weight after I had my first child and I've been overweight ever since. I need help...help please, I'm desperate. (tear!!!)

    • ANSWER:
You didn't provide your age so it's not possible to calculate your BMI. However, if you were 21, you would be in the "overweight" range, not the "obese" range. So, it's premature to become overly concerned about your weight. However, it is a great time to begin to change it. Here is how we should all eat according to the US National Institute of Health who are among the best health professionals in the world and the people doctors listens to in the US.

      OPTIMAL INTAKE
Eat varied, wholesome, and high quality foods such that your daily caloric intake is about equal to your daily caloric burn while keeping your macro nutrient ratios at about 55/25/20 (%calories from carbs/fats/protein). Only slight changes should be made in the macro nutrient ratios to accommodate the extreme demands of special activities such as extreme athletics or inactivity due to illness.

Note: Here are the details in case you're interested:
      http://health.gov/dietaryguidelines/2010.asp
      http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/nutrition.html

You get to make the food choices (no supplements without a doctor's recommendation) based on your location, culture, available foods, personal preferences, personal resources, food allergies, etc. However, the words "varied", "wholesome", and "high quality" are important. And, you should consume your food in 4-6 daily meals with healthy snacks between such that you're nourishing yourself every two hours when awake.

VARIED means a variety of foods including fruits, dairy, meats, vegetables, grains, nuts, etc.
WHOLESOME means as unprocessed, unrefined, nutritious as is practical.
HIGH QUALITY means using the best ingredients, the least contaminants or fillers or unnecessary chemicals, etc.

•FAT LOSS: If you want to lose fat, simply adjust your portion size (the amount you take in at meals and snacks) down such that your daily caloric intake is about equal to your BMR. If you eat your BMR in calories daily, you will have plenty of nutrition and food choices and all of your activity will go toward burning fat. Most people can lose one pound per week averaged over the term of the diet by eating their BMR. You can calculate your BMR here ---> http://www.calculator.net/bmr-calculator.html

•MAINTENANCE: If you want to maintain your weight just keep your portion size at a comfortable level which you can determine simply by weighing yourself once per week and checking your clothing fit and reflection in the mirror to ensure you're at or close to your ideal body weight.

      TRACKING
Nutrient tracking is necessary to ensure you have the optimal caloric intake and macro nutrient balance. For most people, tracking is only required for fat loss because of the difficulty in cutting intake and nutrients while maintaining digestive and appetite satisfaction. Tracking makes it necessary to read labels, look up food nutrients, record data, plan meals and recipes, etc. And, as annoying as it may be to have to track, it is easier to do today than ever before with the help of website such as My Fitness Pal ---> http://www.myfitnesspal.com . And, once the fat loss dieter reaches goal weight, tracking my be discontinued. Here's my tracking as an example --> http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/diary/clickmaster

Tracking will also force you to make good food choices because bad ones will either drive your caloric intake over the limit or create periods of hunger in waking hours. Ideally you want all your hunger to be while you're sleeping.

Another benefit of tracking is planning "cheats". When you track, if you have to cheat you will know how much damage you did. If you cheat a little you may still lose some fat. Cheat a little more and you still may not gain any fat. Cheat a little more and you may have gained the equivalent of a few ounces of fat that day. The numbers will let you know. You can also "bank" calories simply by adding up all the calories you've saved over the past week and then indulging yourself by that much excess without interfering with your fat loss. Cool huh? Of course, cheats and banks should be you used sparingly so as to not interfere with the loss rate.

I can't stress the importance of tracking enough. Trying to control your body composition without tracking is like driving blindfolded. You know where you want to go but you can't see the hazards so you will eventually run into trouble.

      Good luck and good health!!

I know I could do this on my own without the support of a diet plan, but I need everyone's opinion. Has anyone lost a lot of weight and how?

    • ANSWER:
At the moment, I'm on my own diet, I just picked up a lot of tips from here and there and combined them. I cut out a lot of junk food in my diet, I replaced crisps and coke with fruit/ veg and drank water instead.

I also keep a food diary which helps show me what I am eating and where I was going wrong, it's amazing when you look at what you eat over the day, you don't realize at the time that one biscuit here and there adds up.

The most important thing for me was exercise!! I started of gradually, I bought a few dvds, which you can buy cheaply on Amazon in their sales, and i also started using my treadmill which was bought and never used!! So far I have lost a stone in the past four or five months.

It's also good to lose weight with someone as it helps to motivate you, but once you start exercising and drinking between 1.5 to 2 liters of water a day, you will soon start to see the benefits. And don't be strict, allow yourself treats, once or twice a week, you wont stick to it otherwise

      Good Luck!!!!!!

  26. QUESTION:
Best weight loss plan for me?
I am 14 and 5'3 I'd like to go from 130 to 100-110. Its been a struggle for me to loose weight I do 30 minutes of cycling times a week and 1 night of tumbling. Im getting frusterated. I also take in about 1,300 calories per day, should I start loosing 1-2 pounds a week?

    • ANSWER:
Monitor your calories with MyFitnessPal.com (you have to be 18 to join, but just say you were born in like 1990 or something. Theres really no reason you should be 18.) Make sure you only take in about 1,200 a day (including exercise). So if you eat 1300 calories, and you burn 100, you should be at your goal of 1,200. If you can, do more exercise. At least 3-5 days a week of 1 hour of exercise. Join sports after school if possible. Sports will get you in shape. I joined cross country and now I'm in shape so I'm also in track.

Hope this helps, could you please answer mine?

I used to exercise 11-12 miles a week. I lost 10 lbs in a two-week period. Now I that I haven gained 60+ pounds over a two year's time, what could I do to lose that weight now? • ANSWER:
The BMI is a bs scale, it doesnt account of muscle or bone.

Ok so you need to change your lifestyle when it comes to eating and activity level. The best is either 5-6 200-300 Calorie meals or 3 300 calorie meals and 2 100-200 calorie snacks. No it doesnt have to be exact. you dont have to cute everything out forever. If you like bacon, eat bacon. Just 1-2 peices 1-2X a week. you like cookies 1 a night wont hurt.

Drink tons of water and you need to get at least 30 minutes of cardio 3-5X a week.

  32. QUESTION:
Best weight loss plan that's close enough to normal eating?
I'm 16 and i go to the gym about three times a week after school for 2 hours...I'm not obese but I am at risk of being overweight according to my BMI and i want a diet that isnt a set one (such as the day off diet etc) but whats the best way to do it without having to starve on cabbage soup and only drinking fluids????

    • ANSWER:
go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food
after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on
your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If
you don't eat wheat then you don't eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don't eat junk food, and you don't eat biscuits. But your
diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans.

  33. QUESTION:
    Best weight loss plan?
I am 210 down from about 223 in the past few weeks. I am 32 and about 5 foot 5 inches. I really want to maximise my weight loss in the run up to christmas and I feel I have my diet under control and am eating 6 small clean meals a day totalling about 1200 to 1500 calories a day.

I feel a bit lost with my work out plan though. I got a book by Michael Thurmond who advises to stick to long moderate exercise (such as walking briskly on the treadmill or outdoors with no incline) and 3 sessions of weight training a week. The people he works seem to get really great results but it goes against the more typical advice of doing interval training. I think that Thurmond's idea is that interval training is good for fitness but bad for weight loss as it takes you out of the maximum fat burning zone. I do want to get really fit but I'd really like to focus on fat loss at the moment. Which method do you think is best?

  37. QUESTION:
What would be the best weight-loss plan for me?
I have been looking to various weight-loss plans, like Jenny Craig and NutriSystem, but I'm wondering what out there would be the best for me - from the mouths of people who have experience with these various programs.

    Some details about me:
I'm 23 years old, and 5'9-5'10, and currently weigh 240 pounds.
Almost all of my fat is centered in my belly area, with some on the thighs and upper body.
I do NOT know how to cook, select foods from grocery stores on my own, and I was raised on a diet that consisted entirely of meat, potatoes, and corn. I'm not kidding, folks, I've never eaten a fruit (that didn't immediately make me horribly gag)... I'm trying to learn to cook on my own, but honestly, this is an uphill battle.

I'm looking to lose some major weight and get down to an ideal range, preferably 140-160, so I know I'm in this for a very long haul.

I also have a monthly budget under 300 dollars.

I can take care of exercise regimens on my own (but it would be cool if a program had tools included for this).

Are there any systems out there that can work for my needs?
    Extra note:

I do NOT have a regular schedule (thanks to night shift hours); plans that assume/require traditional "breakfast"-"lunch"-"dinner" activites won't work well, because I go to sleep directly after "breakfast." :)

  38. QUESTION:
Best weight loss work out plan for begginers? I want to know the best plan, as i'm new to this gym thing! xxx?
I've joined the gym finally. And i'd like to know the best way to utilise it, so that i can reach my ultimate goal (loose 10 kg). I have been eating healthly for the past 2 months, and i want something to compliment my new diet... Please HELP!!!

    • ANSWER:
Stick with the gym, that's great. Get an instructor to show you how to use all the equipment correctly and do 10-12 reps on each thing everday.
      Some tips:
      Eat protein with every meal!
Eat 5-6 smaller meals everyday instead of 3 meals.
Eat oatmeal sweetened with honey or Stevia for breakfast. Throw in some bananas, blueberries or raisins. Eat a hard-boiled egg white or scrambled eggs (egg-beaters are best) and a piece of wheat toast.
For mid-morning snack, try a fruit smoothie with any kind of fruit, skim milk, flaxseed and protein powder. Mix up in a blender and yum!
For lunch, eat a veggie full salad with spinach, tomato, cucumber, carrot, mushrooms, soy beans and anything else you can throw in it. Instead of using dressing, use a splash of red wine vinegar and drizzle on some extra virgin olive oil. Try putting some turkey or chicken pieces in the salad too.
For afternoon snack, try apple with peanut butter or veggies and hummus.
For dinner, eat brown rice, steamed veggies and baked/grilled or broiled fish or chicken. Eat beans too or instead of the meat.
After dinner snack could be a frozen Edy's fruit bar or Crystal Light popsicle. Eat plenty of veggies and fruit throughout the day too.
Drink only water! Try some lemon in it too.

If you can't make it to the gym, exercise by walking or run/walking sprints for 30 to 60 minutes a day. Try to work the upper body and lower body everyday. Lunges along with push ups are great. Good luck!

My mother-in-law, sister-in-law, cousins and friends have all used the program and have lost a lot of weight and kept it off. Seeing the actual results on them is what makes me believe it. My mother-in-law and cousin are lifetime members. Now it seems like they eat whatever they want and still don't gain any weight. I'm going to a meeting tomorrow morning. • ANSWER:
Eating and sleeping actually helps you to lose weight. So...

Do eat breakfast to get fat burning started right away. Fruit or cereal is good. Eat reasonable sized meals every 2 1/2 hours, this keeps your metabolism high.

Do engage in some form of exercise daily. Your body continues to burn fat 4 hours after completing exercise. Take an evening walk after dinner.

Do go to bed early and wake early. If you go to bed on an almost empty stomach, your body will burn fat while you sleep. Don't eat 3-4 hours before bedtime. If you go to bed having recently eaten the body stores the food as fat.

Do not diet or skip meals you will slow your metabolism and than risk over eating later.

Follow the basic rules above and you can eat anything you like. However you will loose weight faster and be healthier if you eat more vegetable, less red meat and cut out delicacies and sweets.

Hot spicy foods increase fat burning, Oatmeal requires a lot of energy to digest. Complex carbohydrates boost metabolism so eat Milk, and Whole-Grain Cereal.

Chemicals in peppers, Green Tea and Coffee speed up your heart rate. Fish or fish supplements increase leptin which increase your metabolism.

Eat white meats which contain proteins that require more energy to digest.

    • ANSWER:
The key to starting an exercise routine is to make the changes slowly. You can't go from being sedentary to active overnight and hope to succeed. Start out by exercising 1-2 times per week and eventually moving up to 3-5 times per week. Only increase the amount of exercise you do per week when you feel ready.

Exercise routines also have to be well rounded to be successful. You need elements of flexibility, cardiovascular and strength training. You don't need to go to the gym to get a good workout, but having access to that type of equipment is a definite plus. Flexibility isn't very intensive and can be done on most if not all days of the week. It won't directly help you with your goals but it will lead to better performance - it will make exercising a lot easier.

Cardio should be done 3-5 times per week while strength training should be done 2-3 times per week. The more weight you want to lose, the more you need to exercise. If this seems confusing, you can get a free personalized diet plan and workout routine at http://shtrainer.com

    • ANSWER:
Losing weight in someone so young is not straight forward and will require medical/dietetic supervision. Even in adults the average weight loss is only 9-15lbs a year, so this is a long term lifestyle issue, requiring both an appropriate diet and very regular vigorous exercise.

  50. QUESTION:
What is the best weight loss plan for 3 months?
I know it won't be easy, but I will do anything at this point (as long as it's healthy for me, and not a crash diet). I only have 3 months (summer break) to lose weight. I'm 15 year's old and I really want to lose at least 50 lbs. before school starts again. It would be great if you could find me a jumpstart thing, and then a long time plan.
