Some popular diets today are: the South Beach diet, the Zone diet, the Atkins diet, Macrobiotics, Weight Watchers, Raw Foods, Life Choice....etc. and they promise to deliver - if you can stay with the program to the letter.
But the question is: do any of these diets really work ? If some of these popular, highly advertised diet plans do achieve the weight loss promised, why do so many dieters tend to re-gain their weight back, and more times than not, why do they eventually end up gaining back more weight than when they started on the diet?

And of course, they show you numerous "before and after" photos to convince you that their diet is the only one that really works, and that you too will soon be thin and attractive.
Many people have had success with low carb and other popular diets. On the other hand, many others fail on these diets, as not every diet is for every person. Some diet-educated people actually make up their own personalized diet and this works for them...but in most cases, losing weight requires guidance, discipline, and life style changes which a good diet guide or diet plan can provide.
So, if you need to lose weight, do some research and learn all that you can before starting on any diet. Look it up online and check out the successes - and the side effects... Consult your doctor and take the diet information with you and ask questions.
In my own experience with dieting I learned Rule # 1 about weight loss: If you take in more calories than you burn off every day, you will gain weight. If you burn off more calories than you take in, you will lose weight - sounds simple and it is, but even this rule has it's own rules... a starvation diet of 1,000 calories a day will eventually put your system on "hold" - you won't lose any more weight, as your body thinks it's starving, and will "hold on" to any calorie it can get for survival. Eventually, you will eat - and gain.
I have personally found that a balanced daily diet combined with different forms of exercise up to 3 hours per week works best for me - but many people don't have the time to exercise 2 to 3 hours or more...
As mentioned above, it's best to do the research on any diet that you are interested in first, and then make an educated decision for yourself.

The only reason I say this is because it sounds like your doing this for an occasion and the master cleanse gets the pounds off quick but once you start eating regular again it will all come back ..I don't suggest starvation by any means, but if you do the master cleans you will atleaste be getting some of the nutrition that you need to go day by day .. people have youtube blogs too about their days and progress. I am 17 years old, female. Prom is coming up in 3 months and I put on about 10 pounds over the summer that I want to take off plus a little bit more. I am 5’0 and 119 pounds. What I want to lose most, other than all around is my love handles, stomach (#1), butt (sticks out =/), and my arms are a little too fat for my body.I am planning on going to the gym everyday for about 1.5-2 hours and eating healthy, however, I need a little help with following it and what would be beneficial and what wouldn’t.
I went to the gym today, for the first time for this diet plan/weight losing plan. I did the treadmill for 5ish minutes fast walking (warm-up/cool down) and about 10 minutes running (not SO fast, but running) and then did the sitting bike for 10 minutes/1.5 miles. It was my first day so I didn’t do much.
I am planning on eating healthy so it helps with my weight loss as well and my face.
I plan to eat Special K cereal with 1% milk in the morning (615 AM)
Lunch at school: apple and water? If I should eat more, maybe a sandwich (wheat bread with a slice of cheese since I’m a vegetarian, would that be healthy?) (1030 AM)
100 calorie pack? Or a granola bar would be healthier? (12-2ish, anytime between there)
Dinner: Indian food, but healthy, like soups and veggies.
Snacks during the day: apples, plums, oranges/tangerines/clementines, watermelon.

Not eating after 7 PM.I am planning to go to the school gym right after school from 230-3 and then come home and go to my gym by my house from 345-5?

Yes, think of it this way, instead of eating chips & soda, you'd be eating fruits & vegetables & drinking water... which has very little oil compared to junk food.

(50 mins total)As you begin to get more fit, more confident in your physical health, you can begin to increase your total workouts by 5 minutes and the intensity by an extra level.
