Well, the obvious answer would be increasing your fruit and vegetable intake. For a lot of people, including myself, that's not always easy to do. I think the best place to start is replacing things in the kitchen with healthier options. For instance, trade in your white rice for brown rice. Switch to sugar free coffee cream (which really doesn't taste any different, I promise). Instead of regular ice cream, get the Skinny Cow brand. Instead of regular pudding, get the sugar free jello pudding snacks (which again, don't taste any different). Now that you have healthier options, this doesn't mean you can eat MORE of it.
Next, increase your water intake. Try to always have a water bottle handy, and continuously sip on it throughout the day. If you only drink one or two bottles of water a day, try doubling that to start. Water flushes out salts and sugars and keeps you feeling more full so you're prone to eat less.
Next, if you don't eat fruit, or eat very little, go to the store and buy a bag of apples, grapes and bananas. Take at least one with you to work every day, whether it be a baggy of grapes or an apple, orange, banana...really anything you want. Fruit carries natural sugars that keep your energy levels up, and they also have water content...so again, they fill you up faster and keep you full so you're less prone to finish that hamburger you get at lunch. Other snack ideas are celery and peanut butter, a mixed bag of nuts, or carrots and ranch (low fat ranch).
Taking healthier snacks to work with you is so benefitial. One, they make it less likely that you'll spend money at the vending machine on your 10 minute break. Two, if you eat when you're bored like I do, atleast you'll have food there at your desk that you can snack on. And it's healthy!
Meals are another thing. Learning to cook healthy meals is really difficult, and it would take me a year to give a lesson on that lol. My suggestion is to go to a local book store, (Borders is great) and buy a healthy cook book. Or the next time you're checking out at the grocery store, pick up one of those quick and healthy meal magazines at the check out stand.
I could go on and on and on about diet, but i'd end up typing forever. Just take this advice, and it will set you on the right track. Hope it helps!

The only way you can show off a six-pack is by reducing your overall body fat. You can't spot-reduce, so while doing crunches all day may make them bigger/more defined, it won't make them visible (and will actually make you appear fatter until you reduce body fat).
Getting your diet right is the biggest part of reducing body fat. What you should eat depends on whether you're looking to go keto high-fat/low-carb (don't fall into the trap of believing that eating fat makes you fat; eating too many calories makes you fat), which is the faster method of cutting fat, or a balanced ratio like 40/40/20, which is the easier method. Either way, you should aim for clean, whole foods. You also don't have to eat 6 small meals a day as it's myth (and unproven) that doing so will increase metabolism. As long as you're meeting your dietary/macro goals, you're going to lose fat. Find out what your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate, or how many calories you burn just by living day to day) and TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure, or how many calories you burn based on activity level) are to find your maintenance level for caloric intake, then reduce by 500 to lose 1lb fat per week. Aim for protein consumption to equal 1g per lb of lean body mass.
A couple examples of what you should be eating:
On Keto: eggs, meat, bacon/sausage, cheese, sour cream, heavy cream, mayo, full-fat dressings, olive oil, butter, omega 3s, fish, veggies (except taters, corn & carrots), nuts, etc. You want to shoot for a ratio of 65/30/5, which is 65% fat (this is what's going to keep you full, and again, don't believe the hype that fat makes you fat), 30% protein (which tends to work out to meet your 1g/lb lbm), 5% carbs (try to keep under 30g net/day).
40/40/20: That's 40% carbs, 40% protein, 20% fat. Foods include oats, whole grains, lean meats, low-fat cheeses, sweet potatoes, veggies, fruit, nuts, eggs, etc.
The similarities between the two styles is that you want to try to eat fresh, whole foods and avoid the processed stuff that comes pre-packaged. The easiest way to do this, they say, is to shop the perimeter of the grocery store and stay out of the aisles. The difference between them is that on keto you're avoiding carbs and eating high fat for satiety (except for your carb reload one day a week, but you can research this for more insight) and off-keto you're adding (slow-digesting, low-GI, whole-grain) carbs back in and reducing fat to compensate for the shift in calories.
In my opinion keto is great for losing weight, balanced is great for maintaining because it's easier.
There are plenty of guys/bodybuilders out there that say as long as you're getting your 1g/lb lbm of protein and drinking at least 1 gallon of water a day, then it doesn't matter what you eat (you still need to stay under calories, though), that macros don't matter. These guys eat McD's, BK, etc every day and are ripped. In relation to that, there have been studies/documentaries to oppose Spurlock in which they've eaten nothing but McD's for 30 days and *lost* weight.
It's all about coming in under maintenance (calories). I know that's a lot of info, hopefully some of it useful.

Forget about losing weight per se. Just adopt a healthy lifestyle.Eat a good healthy diet and excercise a lot!!! The more excercise you do the better!For a healthy diet, you need to be eating small to medium meals regularly. 4 or even 5 times a day. Each meal (apart from breakfast which should preferably be fibre rich), should contain a balanced ammount of carbohydrates for energy, (from potatoes, rice and pasta, etc) protien (from fish, chicken, occassional red meat is fine, soya is good too) and plenty of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants (simple fresh fruit and veg). Eat like this and make sure you are well hydrated (fruit juice is as good as water, any fluid counts, but some fluids have negative effects too, such as alcohol or caffiene rich drinks.)
Now for the science bit: Protien is essential for repairing muscle and keeping the muscle you do have healthy (this includes your heart, lungs, brain etc). You naturally lose the ammount of protien you have throughout the day (through urine etc) so this needs to be replenished regularly on a daily basis.
Carbohydrates are essential for energy. You won't be able to function without it. It also regulates body fat and glucose etc.
Vitamins and minerals are obviously essential for a variety of reasons. For normal growth and development, for the healthy maintenance of the cells, tissues, and organs that make up our bodies, and also to let us efficiently use chemical energy provided by food.
You can have a wide range of healthy meals with this, from Thai, Chinese, Italian, British, Indian, etc. Just make sure each meal contains balanced ammounts of these three. On the bright side too, fresh veg and rice and pasta is a lot cheaper than crappy junk food!

It will not only burn calories and reduce your body fat levels, therefore making you 'slimmer' by having less fat on you, but will also improve your resting heart rate and lung function, making you healthier.
I cannot understate the importance of cardio excercise. It is this which will basically burn the body fat off you.
But you have to remember that once you have shed a bit of fat you have to have a nice toned body underneath the fat to show off.
Strength training will help you strengthen and tone your muscles. This is done with the use of weights or by free training.
There are essentially (without getting overly complicated) two types of strength excercises based on different types of muscle fibres depending on wether you want to build size, bulk and power, or just 'tone' up the lean muscles an get more muscle endurance.
Heavy weights with short reps/sets will build your fast twitch muscle fibres and build size, power and strength. Imagine big guys at the gym lifting heavy weights.
But if you use light to medium weights with lots of reps/sets you will excercise your slow twitch muscle fibres, you wont build size, but you will tone up your body and train muscle endurance. This will obviously make you 'look' healthier and more toned, but will also increase your metabolism (as your muscles demand more energy) so you will burn calories faster. These muscles are also excercised a lot with cardio workouts (i.e your leg muscles when running).
Your arms for example, will need bicep curls and tricep dips using weights and reps of your choice (heavy - low reps, light - lots of reps) and also shoulder excercises such as holding the weights at your waist and lifting them perpendicular to your side or in front of you, etc etc.
Your stomach will need excercises that cover the entire torso. Leg raises for your lower ab wall, crunches, sit ups and planks for your upper and all over ab wall, oblique twists for your sides and superman stretches for your lower back for example.
These are just basic examples, there are literally hundreds of excercises, but it is impossible to show you on a site like this, get a trainer at your gym to show you some but remember the basic rules of muscles and weights.
As far as excercise goes, you should aim to strike a balance between cardio training and strength training, this way you will build good strong and toned muscle, but also keep your body fat levels down and increase your heart and lung performance, making you much fitter and healthier.

ANSWER:
Well, this method worked for me.I did change up my diet a bit. You know, healthy foods and i dedicated at least 5 hours of excercise every week. But when I eat, I ate only to the point where I know i'm content. I don't eat any less or anymore. By doing so I gradually lost weight, along with the excercise.
Also, when eating try your best to not go to Buffets, the more you see the more you're tempted to eat. One last thing, don't eat too many wheat/bread products. Though they're filling, they fill up pretty slowly, so you'll eat more. But a bit isn't too bad.

ANSWER:
You cannot spot/target lose weight really, my face started to look 'thinner' i guess u would say in ur case, or healthier, really, after losing weight just in general, overall.
HEre's my tips...
The way not to do it is starve yourself, to start with. Just exercise and eat right. I did....lost 90 LBS because of it. Starving yourself won't help at all. Drink more water, eat less before bed, and don't eat for stress are the 3 things I follow and i'm going pretty well if i don't say myself. 90 LBS isn't anything like 5-10lbs so take my advice.
