You need to do the work and make it a habit. If you don't it will all come back. Not to be offensive but at 277lbs I'm sure it's hard to go running almost every day. So start with a fast walk, and every week start going faster until you can run for a long time. I can lose 10lbs a week if I want to, but thats because I swim heavily for 2 and a half hours 5 times a week.

      PS: No weight loss supplement that you see on TV will work. They are all scams. The only pills that work are horrible for your heart. I strongly advise you to give up on diet pills.

      I have been through it all and know what's it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can't be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I've worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.

      Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.

      First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can't eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising...

      This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it's good for the heart.

      However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It's so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I've found a great addition to help any one out, it's a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don't get all crazy on me and say diet pills don't work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn't meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It's an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace dot com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it's the best pill I've tried and I've tried cupboards full. Now this doesn't mean you have to follow my foot steps but I've successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.

      Best weight loss 'supplement' for a teen is lean protein and lots of good interval training.

      - P90x is good...i'm sure you've heard of it
      - Take plenty of glutamine/amino acids to help with recovery...especially if you are working out multiple times/day (Xtend is a good brand)

      For workouts: I would recommend you try one or more of the following:
      - Zuzana's youtube site (not a DVD but has daily workouts...she has one of the best female bodies i've ever seen and her workouts are great) http://www.youtube.com/user/charliejames1975
      - P90x...one of the pioneers for home workouts based on 'muscle confusion' (your body never really gets used to what you're doing and as a result you continue to get results)

      - Eating and stomach (abs)
      You can (and should) eat 5-6 semi-small nutritious meals...speeds up your metabolism and prevents you from being too hungry. Don't load up with 'tons' of food and don't cut your calories to bare mininum (1K) as this slows down your metabolism.
      You can try eating various things: fresh fruit, chicken, brown rice, broccoli, beef jerky, protein shake, applesauce (no sugar added), veggies, lean ground turkey, turkey sausages, Low sugar protein bars. Oh, and substitute any junk food with Odwalla bars (the choco. chip ones are fabulous and have 8 grams of protein). (2x/wk should be ok)
      If you eat ~7 a.m. ~10 a.m. 1p.m. 4 p.m. 7p.m. (and 10 p.m. if you're up late you should be great. Get your excercise/workout in b/w any of those meals (or directly prior)
      You don't need many weights or machines. You can get one of those ab balls online or at a Target/Wal-mart for like -. Do abs using the ball...always works your core. Also get some resistance bands and you can work your legs (outer thighs) as well. Go for a run or do some sprints to get in better shape. Pick up some sports/activities with your friends.
      - Oblique exercises (twisting - works your 'love handles'). Do a lot of these using the ab ball: sit on the ball hold a 10 lb weight and walk your feet forward. 'Lay down' and with the weigh above you twist to one side-up-pause-twist to the other side. Ensure you're using your obliques to do the work.
      - Start taking a thermogenic fat burner (will burn fat faster when your body temp rises - i.e. working out), ripped fuel 5x, or hydroxycut hardcore before your workouts. Don't exceed the daily recommended allowance and drink plenty of water. You don't NEED these, they just help burn fat faster while providing energy. You could take a multi-vitamin instead (relatively cheap at Wal-mart)

      Nearly 7 years ago, I started Atkins low carb way of eating to just quit gaining weight. I had to get my out of control appetite under control. I never imagined I could LOSE weight without hunger or exercise, since I've become disabled. I never bothered weighing or measuring til I'd noticed that my clothes got huge quick. When my health improved dramatically also, I knew this was my new way of life and since it's eat all you want (of low carb foods) I know I can do this for life.

      My personal carb level is low. I am older & disabled & don't move much (or cook much) but I eat all I want of meats, eggs, cheeses, yogurt, fats, green vegetables, almonds, berries, flax seeds, chia seeds, shirataki noodles and other foods. Someone active would have a MUCH higher carb level & can usually include all fruits, beans, whole grain products but not sugar & highly refined carbs in unlimited amounts. As long as you have <9grams carbs per hour, you will maintain insulin control & shouldn't gain weight, no matter the calories.

      Most overweight & obese people have blood sugar & insulin dysfunctions and can NEVER eat carbs as someone with a functioning body can. They make the mistake of going back to the way of eating that made them fat and that is not possible and yes they will gain all weight back if they eat what they ate that made them obese originally. Insanity is defined as doing the exact same thing, in the exact same way and expecting different results. Many people can return to moderate carb levels but very few can really eat all they want of sugar & maintain weight or health.

      You can lose more body fat eating protein & fat (don't eat protein alone) than not eating AT ALL. To lose weight fast, eat all you want, but nothing but meat, eggs, healthy oils, mayo, butter & half an avocado a day (for added potassium). Keep the calories high & the fat percentage high, at least 65% of calories. Green vegetables & some cheese will continue weight loss but at a slower pace.

      The first 2 weeks eat several cups a day of (mostly) lettuce & celery, cucumbers, radishes, mushrooms, peppers & more vegetables thereafter - add 5 grams per day additional every week (20 grams day first 2 weeks, 25grams 3rd week, 30grams 4th week etc) til you gain weight, then subtract 10grams. That will be your personal carb level (everyone is different & depends on how active you are.)

      Start with meat, fats & salads for 2 weeks and then slowly add in more green veg, wk4 fresh cheeses, wk5 nuts & seeds, wk6 berries, wk7 legumes, wk8 other fruits, wk9 starchy veg, wk10 whole grains. You will learn how your body reacts to different foods.

      The first week is just water weight but fat is lost thereafter if you keep your calories high enough. Otherwise the body will strip it's own lean tissue for nutrition. Although that may look great on a scale it will make it MUCH easier to accumulate fat in the future (since all that pesky lean tissue burning up calories will be gone). The body won't release fat stores if you lower calories below what it needs. It will slow metabolism to compensate & store every spare ounce as fat. If you continue lowering calories, it will continue lowering the set point, til it can survive off nothing & store fat on anything. The body will only release it's fat stores if it knows there is plenty of nutritious food.

      Eating carbs while trying to lose body fat is terribly inefficient. When in glycolysis (burning glucose as fuel) you have to lower your calories (which slows your metabolism) & exercise heavily to deplete your glycogen stores before burning body fat.

      The core of Atkins program is converting the body from glycolysis (burning glucose as fuel) to ketosis (burning fat as fuel). Dietary fat levels need to be at >65% of total calories, if not, the body will still remain in glycolysis by converting 58% of excess protein into glucose (via gluconeogenesis).

      It takes about 3 days to convert a body to ketosis, (but only one bite to convert back to glycolysis). People feel sluggish the first week but most feel better than ever thereafter.

      Carbohydrates (sugar, flour, bread, cereal, pasta, potatoes, rice, beans) trigger insulin (the ONLY fat storage hormone). Protein triggers the fat burning hormone glucagon..

      High insulin levels promote inflammation, weight gain, hunger & unbalance other hormones. Controlling insulin levels will balance out other hormones & allow human growth hormone (HGH) to be produced naturally so lean muscle will be gained even without exercise. Any exercise will greatly increase muscle mass with high HGH levels.

      Ground flax seed (4 Tbsp) 1/4 cup water, artificial sweetener, mix in a raw egg - let sit 10 min. to absorb liquid, put some cream cheese in the middle & nuke 2 min. for daily fiber needs.

    Okay so I was thinking

    In the morning when I wake up do half hour on the cross-trainer as it is the only piece of fitness equipment I like and would do first thing in the morning as I don’t usually have time the rest of the day, please dont suggest weights etc. as I just don’t want to do all that.

    For breakfast I would have a bowl of cheerio’s and a tall glass of orange juice which is about 270 calories.

    A pack of Walkers baked crisps in the day like in college which is 99 calories and pretty healthy ish lmao.

    A weight watchers meal for dinner as I think they taste lush and they are healthy and they average 300 calories, well the ones I like to eat do anyway and I was also guna have a Muller rice as they are lush and pretty low in fat and high protein and that’s about 220 calories.

    And I know your not suppose to eat in the evening but tough its better than feeling horrible and craving food which will prob lead me to eating my fridge, I was thinking 2 crumpets with tiny amount of light butter and a bit of jam which is about 160 calories and low.

    Also in the morning I take cod liver oil and multi-vitamin supplements just to boost up and stuff.

    So on average im on about 1100-1200 calories according on how many cups of tea I have with skimmed milk and sweeteners as I loveee tea and a few glasses of pepsi max as its low with like 2 calories a glass and nice.

    Right now this is not the worlds best diet packed with every fruit and veg in the world but I think it would suit me, it has a fair amount of protein in it, pretty low in fat and im on a decent amount of calories and doing my half hour of exercise in the morning and my main goal is to lose weight!
    Weirdly enough I know a lot about nutrition and dieting ect but I think you should also think about what makes you feel good and happy and not feeling like your actually on a depressing diet.

    Right so I am an 18 year old 5 foot 2 female and at this moment in time im 9stone 6, I use to be 8 stone and healthy but things happened I felt crappy I ate I shot up a stone and a half meaning all my clothes don’t fit and my confidence has shot right out the window, now I want to get down to my 8stone size again as I know that’s when im happiest and confident even though the size I am now is fine and normal I still feel better as my old one and want it back!

      Diets like these are o.k for a short time but not months. There is no fruit or veg in there or meat, eggs, seeds, etc. If you ate a little of those foods, you wouldn't need extra supplements. In fact this diet is totally unhealthy.

      You keep going on about everything is low fat, that is not the problem. It maybe low fat, but all those things you are eating are full of sugar and salt, two of the worse things you can put in your body. The Weight Watchers meal is probably the worse for salt and sugar. The Muller rice, again, will be full of sugar.

      You would be far better doing your exercise in the early evening to burn off what you have eaten rather than do it in the morning.

      And it doesn't appear that you drink water. You must have lots of water for clear skin, bright eyes and feeling of well-being. Tea is not water because of the caffeine and tanning in it, same as the coke.

It can cause some undesired side effects if you don't follow the strict diet that it "suggests". One of the undesired side effects is a very loose stool that may be explosive at times. Alli blocks your body from absorbing all fat that you eat. The fat will literally just pass right on through the body causing the very loose stool. It is the ONLY FDA approved weightloss pill. It was a prescription a few years ago, but it was double the strength causing double the side-effects.

      I'm sorry, but, there is no such thing as losing fat, specifically in the abdomen region. When you exercise, your body loses overall body fat. That means, fat is burned in all locations in the body, your arms, butt, legs, stomach. You can not target a precise spot, like your abdomens.

      If you want to seriously consider losing weight, stick with Diet and Exercise. Yes, I know it's been regurgitated a million times by fitness gurus and pretty much everyone whose done it already. but, that should say something. It works!

      Diet: Aim for meals high in protein, and low in fat. Do NOT eat carbs before you go to bed, it will most likely get stored as fat overnight since you're not using it. Contrary to popular belief, do not reduce meals now. Don't try to starve yourself thin, it's unhealthy, and it will actually slow down your metabolism, making you fatter. That's right, I said it, fatter. Instead try to consume 4-6 meals a day, but, SMALL portions. When your stomach feels satisfied, stop eating.
      1600-2000 calories a day is reasonable.

      As for your abs? Hit the treadmill, run in the park. Do whatever it takes to burn those calories. Play a sport, basketball, tennis, swimming. Since you said you want thsoe abs to show quick, well, drink a lot more water. It will flush out the sodium (which retains water in your body making you look bloated).

      If you seriously push yourself hard for at least 2 weeks, you will notice a quick reduction in weight. Most of it will be water weight, but, that's a start.

      Recap: Aim for more meals, but less portion. Intake of mainly protein and carbs (no carbs at night however), and low in fat, mixed with exercise should yield reasonble results. Contact me for more info.

      For a weight loss supplement, you should really try the Equate brand of multivitamin specifically for weight loss. It says "Equate Weight Conscious" on the bottle.

      As far as a diet goes, I would eat between 1500-1800 calories a day since you are a man. Try to limit your breads and fats but do not eliminate them! Try to make the majority of your food choices to be fruits, vegetables and lean cuts of meat. Also, switch to skim milk if you don't already drink it.

      For an exercise routine, do whatever you like to do! If you don't enjoy the workout, you won't stick with it. However, aim to burn 400-500 calories working out a day. I choose to do the elliptical and run until I burn 450 calories. If you don't like running on the machine, find an activity you will like to do!

      Sorry if my answers aren't specific enough but in order to lose weight, you have to find what works for YOU! Not everything works for everybody. Hope it helps!

      because you are building muscle, so no pills cause those are short term and long term they make you gain double the weight, my aunt did that and she recently (after 20 years) lost the 130 pounds she had on for the pills, and it was hard. Drink water, lots of it (will clean your organism) drink green tea (no sugar, its ok tasting not bad at all) walk rather than run (keeping your heart rate below 140 makes you burn fat and lose weigh, if you ran you will work your cardio.

    I have been trying to lose weight for about 3 months now. When i first started, I lost about 10 pounds in 3 weeks, from running and cutting sugar out of my diet. I was so happy. I decided to give myself 1 cheat day a month.
    On my cheat day, i ate whatever i wanted. when i got on the scale two nights later, i have gained SEVEN pounds back. SEVEN! I was so disgusted and disappointed with myself, then my depression set in and i can't seem to get my motivation back. I havent seen results in weeks. I stay at the same weight. I am 5'8" and weigh about 197.
    I am desperate to lose pounds, not to be "skinny," but to feel healthier.

    I decided to turn to a weight loss supplement, or dietary supplement (whatever they're called). I need to know if there are any good ones that i could go pick up at my local pharmacy or grocery store that won't cost me an arm and a leg. I know there are a lot of unsafe ones, but i have tried some supplements before and didnt have any serious side effects.

      Phentermine works wonders, i don't know how safe it is but I know several people who've lost lots on that pill. Theres weight loss clinics you can go to where a doc will prescribe the pill and also give b12 shots which seems to help too.

      2. Do NOT starve yourself, do NOT binge eat.
      3. Be as active as you can; nothing to do for 10 minutes? Knockout 10 elevated push-ups.
      4. Eat some spicy foods; take a decent amount of vitamin C, and drink between a half-gallon and a whole gallon of WATER a day.
      5. No more soda. Ever.
      6. If you do drink coffee, drink it black.
      7. Do at least 35 minutes of cardio straight at least once a day, at least three times a week, more if you are not trying to put on muscle.
      8. Do a large amount of full body exercises whenever possible (Jumping Jacks, Pull-ups, Chin ups, dips, squats, hanging leg raises, hanging knee raises, back raises, glute ham raises, burpees)
      9. Get at least 6 hours of sleep a night, but no more then 9.
      10. Avoid anything deep-fried, white bread, sprinkles, and any refined sugar.

      Here is a good guideline to gain some serious muscle mass:

      Body Builders lift the heaviest weights they can manage while doing 8-12 reps. I would recommend 3 sets for all muscle groups.

      Every day eat 1-2 g of protein for every pound that you weigh. Make sure you count the grams of protein as you go.

      Do not lift weights every day. This is a mistake many people make. Your muscles need a rest to heal and build themselves up. Try to workout 3 times a week. (Maybe Mon Wed Fri)

      Get at LEAST 8 hours of sleep a night to heal those muscles.

      If your muscles are sore, do NOT workout. They are still healing.

      After every two months of working out, take a one week break of complete relaxation. Following this break, change up all of your exercises so that your muscles will not even recognize the new ones. They will be shocked into growth.

      Make sure you eat healthy; you need other vitamins as well. If you only eat high protein foods the protein will not go to your muscles; in order for your body to function properly, you must eat healthy in all areas. This means 5-6 meals a day, and every meal should include a good source of protein and a fruit and a vegetable.

      This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it's good for the heart.

      However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It's so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I've found a great addition to help any one out, it's a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don't get all crazy on me and say diet pills don't work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn't meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It's an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder.     I'm in my early 20s and I have put quite a bit of weight on due to medication I was prescribed by my doctor. I didn't have the best of eating habits before this though to be fair, I ate a lot of rubbish. I am overweight but I am not fat or obese I am just not the weight I should be or would like to be.

    Could you give me some advice on how to lose weight? I've never had to diet before and I don't and I have no underlying condition that would prevent me from dieting, no heart condition, eating disorder etc.

    Before you suggest eat less and exercise more I should tell you I have Cerebral Palsy so I find exercise very difficult. I am not in a wheelchair but walking is very difficult and running or cardio would be out of the question for me.

    I used to be a more comfortable weight, but after an a long period of illness and an injury I suffered some months ago I can no longer do the things I used to. I work from home so I don't tend to go out much during the day, unless I take a day off.

    I'd really like to change the way I eat but I am a terrible cook. I was thinking about kick starting my weight loss with switching to soup only diet for a week or two and then introducing more foods. I have cut out all carbonated drinks like coca-cola etc and no longer take sugar in my tea or coffee. I don't drink alcohol.

    I do have a weakness for chocolate though, if I could continue to have even just a little as part of my weight loss plan I'd be happy. Along with my diet plan I've thought about taking supplements and weight loss aids is this a good idea?

    I like lists so if you could help me please list any brands like tins of soap or types of pasta etc as this would be easier for me to follow as I can't cook. Finally I'd like to go down two or three dress sizes by Christmas is this possible?
